Phones › Help.... I Bricked My Tecno G9 Tab by oNj(op): 10:10pm On Feb 14, 2016 |
This is what happened: I have a rooted Tecno G9 tab that got infested with many unwanted apps with annoying pop ups. Not even factory reset could rid it of those apps.
I eventually downloaded the stock rom and flashed the phone.
Since then, phone no longer charges (was charging fine before the flashing).
While plugged, The charging indicator will be there.... But battery will rather be losing juice.
Have flashed again and again with stock ROMs from three different sources... Same issue.
What's the solution pleassssssssssssssse |

It didn't come with it or it has been removed? If you have an aftermarket alloy installed then probably it wasn't fitted in. You need to gt another one and all should be recalibrated Looks like it's optional. Mine didn't come with it. |

realdee44: I use Total not mobil Cartalk section is all about maintaining your car the right way. Kindly switch to manufacturer's recommended oil; hopefully not too much damage has been done to your engine. Engine may tolerate such abuse, but don't even try it with your tranny.... Will simply pack up sooner than you expect |

Siena: Techstream / GTS is NOT a basic scanner! It is Toyota / Lexus diagnostic software, which can read EVERY module in the cars mentioned, programme ECU's, keys, initialise MMT and much more.
It is dealer level software. I'm contracted to Toyota, so I should know. I use it 5 days a week at work. Sounds more like it. I'm interested in one. |

GAZZUZZ: Same way you have elm327 and launch and autel e.t.c... techstream is specific for toyota/lexus. Just a basic scanner Thought it could be used to make some programming/get into the ECU or something |

Car Talk › Re: Help!speedometer On 2009 Is Not Working And Abs/brake Light On by oNj(m): 11:08pm On Dec 14, 2015 |
Siena: Why would you own a 2009 car, which is OBD II compliant, yet prefer to chase shadows, rather than have the car scanned, thus narrowing down the problem?
Your 2009 Toyota Corolla does not have a traditional VSS (Vehicle Speed Sender) on the transmission, to give your road speed. It relies on a modified signal from the ABS tone rings, which are then processed and relayed to your speedo, giving your road speed.
If you have an ABS code (which you obviously have) then everything that relies on distance covered will be disabled - service intervals, traction control, cruise control, and of course, your speed indication.
Get your car scanned. A generic OBD scanner won't do, as these only scan the engine, and retrieve emission-related codes. You need a shop that can scan EVERY control module in your car. Isolate the ABS problem, and you won't be far from finding out why your speedo isn't working.
Make things happen. That explains it all. When I had a similar experience with the same 09 Corolla... The culprit ended up being a dangling passenger-side front ABS sensor. Reattached it and everything picked up again. |

Thanks cartalk family. The problem is solved. Part of the wahala came from using the wrong harness (wasn't exactly the one for the tranny. His solution: cut part of the original harness and join to the new one. result: he confused at two of the sockets. End result: erratic behavior and reverse not engaging.)
Went and sourced for the exact cable myself which he used for the replacement.
Finally it worked.... Thanks to God
Kukuma changed the ATF( Toyota ATF WS).

When he unplugged the cable, the gears would shift (including the reverse), though in a rough way. Could this point to something he wasn't doing right? |

chukel: did u ensure mechanic replaced with appropriate cable and plug? What codes can u pull now. Maybe, he did not align the transmission range sensor well. The cables looked pretty the same. No codes now. I'll mention the range sensor to him today. My biggest fear is whether he actually plugged each end of the cable to the appropriate socket (solenoid I think) |
Car Talk › 2009 Corolla Tranny Issue......Solved by oNj(op): 10:43pm On Dec 07, 2015*. Modified: 11:25pm On Dec 09, 2015 |
My auto tranny (09 Corolla) is at the verge ocollapse. It all started when I noticed the car wasn't shifting to the last gear (4 speed automatic transmission, I think). Later on the check light came on and the code was P0977. Upon inspection, I discovered that the socket to the transmission cable that goes into the tranny has water in it, a broken "leg" and another shaky leg still. How it all happened, I don't know.
Got a (gear box)mechanic to do the cable replacement. Now the problem: after the replacement the reverse gear doesn't enagage.
Please help |
