Which of the below toyota corolla generation is adviceable for first time car owner? :

2.10th generation of (2009 to 2011 models).

Fuel-consumption wise, 9th generation has a slightly better mpg (latest model boasts better mpg according to online reviews).

Stability wise, 10th generation is better(breeze from trailers no go shake your hand 4 road)

My take: go for the 10th generation, 2011 if you have the means

Where can one get this stuff in Abuja?

Guys can I get some respite here.

I had removed the battery from my Avensis for sometime since I was not using it. Last week I reinstalled it but i had to touch the keyless object on the start button before starting the car. I travelled again only to come back yesterday and have tried everything but the car won't start.

I changed batteries in the hope that this will help but to no avail. Horn, light, etc are all functioning. The dashboard instruction only says, depress break pedal and push engine switch to start. I have been doing that all afternoon in this scorching heat.

Anyone knows what I am not doing right please.

From my experience with push-to-start, if the lever doesn't go into park well car won't start.
Put it on neutral and see if it starts

In fact it's a capital crime here on cartalk to do those things.

Go fix the cause of your overheating issue, if your car was overheating and return those things back to how they were.

I once had a similar issue after an engine wash.
Water somehow found its way into the transmission socket and corroded some pins over time.
Result was transmission not able to move to the last gear.
So yes, scan vehicle and look in the above direction.

It's either the electrician knows what he's doing (stick with him) or he's not (get another mechanic); worst case scenario= na moni dey motor go chop, not human life.

Just wondering what could have damaged the harness.

In all, calm down and allow the ogas here help you fix your car soonest.

that is effect of inadequate lubrication I talk about earlier as a result of not adhering to manufacturer recommendation :
1.0 Don't run your engine without a thermostat
2.0 Using wrong engine oil (20w50) .
This will cost you a new engine .

Actually the cold rattle is not oil-related, some users reported having the issue even while still on low mileages; it's a known problem with 2009/2010 Corolla, which Toyota has addressed with a TSB... Updated camshaft gear.

Mine (09 Corolla) eventually surfaced; the TSB was all that solved it and my engine is cool.

My take
Begin to undo all the kazeemed works one by one and you'll be fine.

Hmmm..... I tried this lemon/lime combo for about a week (my target was the alkaline benefits).....

.... But noticed I was always feeling full; more like a growing tummy.

Had to go on Moringa seeds to properly empty the bowels.


Not sure what happened; is that the price to pay for taking lemon/lime ?

Well... Depends on what exactly is the issue with your car.
1. Rattling noise at cold start is a known issue with 2009/2010 model. Doesn't necessarily mean the engine is nearing death. In fact mine runs smooth since after changing the camshaft gear.
Got the gear online but I think tokumbo one from either 2011/2012 model should work fine (the problem was corrected in that version of the engine).

2. You may need to create a thread for your tranny to explain what exactly led to your issues now. There are capable/willing hands here to help you out.

My issue was particularly about connecting the solenoid end of the tranny harness the correct way. Once that was done, the problem was solved.
