Politics / Re: National Conscience Party (NCP): Our Mission. Our Pledge. by ONOVO(m): 3:09am On Dec 29, 2014
We are National Conscience Party (NCP). Perhaps when we begin to discuss issues, many would realize what we represent. NCP is the only party insisting that a presidential debate should hold to discuss real issues, including the present state of Nigeria. Many others seem scared to attend a presidential debate, perhaps afraid that their lies would come to light. We want you to hear us. We want all Nigerians to hear us prior to the election. Thereafter, cast your ballot; take full responsibility for your choice.

NB: I'm not NCPs Presidential Candidate. Nairaland has my personal details as I have been on this platform since 2006.

Former C-in-C, dictator General Ibrahim Babangida, the self-proclaimed evil genius, is campaigning for Goodluck Jonathan, PDPs presidential candidate. The author of “My Watch”, General Olusegun Obasanjo [an evil genius by the estimation of several sound minds] is canvassing for dictator Muhammadu Buhari, APCs presidential candidate... You. Yeah, you. Why are you campaigning for the presidential candidate of ... Are you blind? If you are blind, are you also deaf?

“The dysfunction of almost all sectors in Nigeria under the current class of political rulers is very clear to all. With uncontrolled Corruption, Unemployment, Insecurity, Bad roads, poor Healthcare, low life expectancy, weak Education, flawed Elections, declining national Productivity, mass Poverty and epileptic Power, it has been a very sad story since 1999…Power generation has remained just over 3,000 MW since 1999 even after we have spent $51 Billion on power” (Engr Martin Onovo, Presidential Candidate for the National Conscience Party)

NB: $ 51 Billion is the equivalent of 9.27 Trillion Naira (Using OANDA currency conversion rate as of time of posting)

Politics / Presidential Election 2015 (Violation of the Electoral Act 2010 & Constitution) by ONOVO(m): 9:51am On Dec 27, 2014
What’s the implication(s) of casting your ballot in favour of a political party that barefacedly flouts the provisions of the Electoral Act 2010 cum Constitution of Nigeria? Why would anyone vote for a political party that displays blatant disregard to the Electoral Act 2010 and laws of Nigeria? Why?

Section 91 of the Electoral Act 2010:
1) Election expenses shall not exceed the sum stipulated in subsections (2)-(7) of this section.
2) The maximum election expenses to be incurred by a candidate at a PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION shall be N I,000,000,000.00 …
(9) An individual or other entity shall not donate more than N I,000,000.00 to any candidate.
(I0) A candidate who knowingly acts in contravention of this section commits an offence and on conviction is liable in the case •of- (a) PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, to a maximum fine of N 1,000,000.00 or imprisonment for a term of 12 months or both ;
11) An individual who knowingly acts in contravention of subsection (9) shall on conviction, be liable to a maximum fine of N500,000.00 or imprisonment for a term of 9 months or both.

Section 221 of the Constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria: “No association, other than a political party, shall CANVASS for votes for any candidate at any election or CONTRIBUTE to the funds of any political party or to the election expenses of any candidate at an election." (CONSTITUTION OF NIGERIA, SECTION 221)

Above the Law?
Donors and donations at Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) "PRESIDENTIAL" Fund Raising Dinner: PDP Governors Forum-N1.05billion; Prof. Jerry Gana and his friends' in the power sector–N5billion; Oil and Gas sector-N5billion; Mr Tunde Ayeni – N2billion; Chairman of SIFAX group – N100million; Transport and Aviation sector – N1billion; Agriculture – N500million; Power sector – N500million; Board of the Shelter Development Limited – N250million; Construction sector – N310million; Road Construction players – N250million; National Automative Association – N450million; Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) – N15million; etc.

***If they win the election in 2015, party lavish jamboree would would start. The donors and their ilk would reclaim their investment via taxpayers money. Yeah, they would reclaim their investment a million folds. Thereafter, payment of salaries and capital expenditure would be ignored or considered not a priority; also they would be unable to pay pension and unable to adequately equip the military and other law enforcement agencies. Who suffers? The masses would suffer.***

National Conscience Party is hoping that a Presidential Election debate would hold. This debate is necessary. Nigerians should hear the candidates. In the US, UK, and several developed states', presidential election debate is organised. Nigerians have a duty to carry on a proper evaluation of the presidential candidates. Let us insist on a debate.

Politics / Re: President Of Nigeria In 2007: Who? <Poll> by ONOVO(m): 5:07pm On Oct 12, 2006
Jafar hi,

In the records of INEC, we have over 40 (forty) political parties in Nigeria. I am also aware of many strong contenders to the post like CHIEF (ENGR.) MARTIN O. ONOVO mnse, who you did not feature in your list. One does not need to be just a professional, money-bag, or IBB/OBJ boy etc. to become a top contender. Besides, current events in Nigeria DOES NOT suggest that an election is likely to take place in 2007. We must PRAY because your list displayed the names of some people who have cases to answer. A SECURITY REPORT WILL MOST LIKELY DISQUALIFY AT LEAST 9 (NINE) OF THEM.

I seriously doubt if anyone in your list of eleven will become the next C.in.C of the armed forces of the Federal Repulic of Nigeria.

Politics / Re: Why Is Nigeria Not Working? by ONOVO(m): 4:16pm On Oct 12, 2006
Dear Shinystar,

Thanks for this great topic.

Nigeria is not working because our leaders are not working but BUSY STEALING. I have said this before and will continue to say it. I remember the events/changes that took place during the short time Buhari and Idiagbon were in control of government affairs. Their achievements are recorded by history although many people seem not to appreciate dictatorship/military regimes.

This is a country where many state governments have received statutory allocations of over N72 billion in the last three years and yet can neither pay monthly salaries regularly nor complete meaningful projects.

Nigeria as a country is abundantly blessed with diverse resources, the government of the day and previous governments have all the instrument required to drastically reduce corrupt practices and ensure sanity, discipline and significant development. They also have what it takes to ensure the welfare and security of citizens. THERE IS NO REASON WHY NIGERIA SHOULD NOT WORK IF OUR LEADERS ARE WORKING WELL.

NIGERIA CAN WORK IF OUR LEADERS FORBID STEALING AND RENDER SELFLESS SERVICES.

Politics / Re: Chief Judge Collects Bribe by ONOVO(m): 2:53pm On Oct 12, 2006
Obviously, the law-makers have reached the conclusion that the governor and the deputy governor are guilty. Recent events have revealed that these legislators act either when their positions are threatened by EFCC or when they are cajoled by the powers to be. The corruption in the system is beyond the understanding of most Nigerians and it has became a great challenge to all God fearing people who love our country.

This is not the first time the Chief Judge of a state in Nigeria is accused of collecting bribe, IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE TO ME FOR A THIEF TO ACCUSE SOMEONE OF STEALING. HE WHO WANTS EQUITY SHOULD COME TO EQUITY WITH CLEAN HANDS.

In 2007, we MUST ensure that all these Odili's, Attahs, Kalu's, Gana's, Atiku, OBJ, IBB etc. who have failed woefully in government do not return to power. Its not impossible to STOP them. I have made up my mind to vote and also protect my vote.
