Unilag Student Accuses Davido Of Refusing To Pay Him N1M For A Dummy He Bought From Him (Photos, Video)

A vendor has accused Davido of refusing to pay the 1 million Naira he owes him since 2020, IgbereTV reports.

The vendor, a student of the University of Lagos, said Davido bought a pink stuffed dummy from him in Dec 2020 and told him he couldn't pay right away because he had exceeded his transfer limit for the day.

He said the singer promised to pay as soon as possible but it's been over a year and all efforts to get the singer to pay proved abortive.

He said he has reached out to Davido's manager and a member of Davido's team who introduced him to the singer but none has given him a favourable response. He also claims he's been blocked so he can't reach out.

He said a member of Davido's team tried to deny that the singer ever bought anything from him.

The vendor then shared proof of the product Davido bought from him. He shared photos of Davido's daughter playing with the dummy and also screenshots of videos posted online by Davido's team with the dummy in the background.

He also shared a threat he claims is from Davido's camp, trying to shut him up for going public. The sender of the message threatened to deal with him for going public about the money owed him by the singer.

He pleaded with Davido to pay him so that he can settle his needs at school and take care of his mother.

His Instagram post reads;

" I hate when famous people buy from we young youths hustling to make a living for ourselves here in Nigeria and not get paid, “how do you expect me to pay my rent and my school fees ? Please someone should tell @davido to pay for the items he bought since 24th December 2020 I have been hold this inside in silence for a long time, I did all the necessary things to do did all the follow up for a whole year before now, please note this is not clout chasing you pushed me to post all this, I’m literally frustrated and emotionally down because of this, 1m Naira debt might be little to you but not small for me, I’m begging you in the name of God almighty this is over 1year ago I’m tired of calling your manager @asaasika and the guy that introduced you to me @deekay_dmw because they told me not to call them again they no longer pick my calls except you want me to die of depression, “I’m a student of university of lagos (UniLag) I need my money i have bills in school to pay and house rent to pay, I lost my dad 2019 ending ever since then have been the one taking care of my mom, I’m not begging you to dash me money, pay the 1m debt thats all."

Crime / I Learnt Kidnapping From Watching Zubby Michael In Movies — Kidnapping Suspect by onthehill: 11:17am On Jan 01, 2022
I Learnt Kidnapping From Watching Actor Zubby Michael In Movies — 23-Yr-Old Suspect

A self-confessed kidnapper who was arrested by the police in Ogun state for allegedly abducting a private school pupil, has said he learned the act of kidnapping from watching actor Zubby Michael’s movies, IgbereTV reports.

The 23-year-old suspect, Ayobamidele Kudus Ayodele allegedly abducted the six-year-old boy from his school in Ojo Alaba area of Lagos, on November 16, 2021 and kept him hostage for four days until a ransom of N550,000 was paid for his release.

According to Vanguard, he said, “Zubby Michael is my favorite Nollywood actor and he is good at kidnapping roles. I decided to try out some of the methods used by Zubby to k!dnap children and adults in the movies.

I started by visiting several schools around Ojo to see the possibility of picking children without anyone noticing. On November 16, 2021, I visited a school close to Alaba Market and stayed by the gate.

I saw two pupils coming to school. One of them was holding a cane. I stopped them and started chatting with them. I took the cane from one of them and asked where he bought it. He mentioned the place but I told him to take me there. I whispered into his ears that I would buy him chocolates and biscuits.

To avoid drawing attention to myself, I took the boy to an hotel in Ilogbo Eremi, Lagos. I called his father and demanded for additional N2 million. We spent four days there before his family was able to raise N550,000. The boy stayed calm throughout because he had access to my phone which had several games.

I am sorry for causing his family so much pa!n. I am not a cultist or an armed robber. I do not have a gang. I just trained myself by watching Zubby Michael. My parents trained me very well, I was just impatient and greedy."

'Every Life Lost To Insecurity Gives Me Concern': President Buhari Says In 2022 New Year Message

Nigerian president, Muhammadu Buhari says his administration remains committed to protecting Nigerians by addressing insecurity, IgbereTV reports.

In his new year message to Nigerians, the President said every life lost to insecurity is of concern to him and that his government will do more to protect Nigerians in this new year.

Read full text of President Buhari's message below.

"PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI’S STATEMENT TO THE NATION ON JANUARY 1, 2022

We remain grateful to the Almighty God for yet another Year attained as a country, united by a common destiny and resolute in our determination to overcome the several challenges along the path to build the great and prosperous Nation of our dream.

2. I salute the courage and resilience of all Nigerians, which was evident in 2021 as this nation, like other countries of the world, faced significant challenges that occurred as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic and the efforts to restore the global economy and social order.

3. The persistent insecurity in certain parts of the country may have threatened to unravel the incremental gains achieved in the real sectors of the economy and in the administration's overall objective to position the nation on the irreversible trajectory of sustainable growth and progress, but I assure you that we will remain resolute in our commitments and shall continue to press ahead with our programmes and plans.

4. The path to nationhood is often fraught with unpredictable difficulties and challenges, and most tried and tested nations have often prevailed through dogged determination, resilience, concerted commitment to unity, and the conviction that the whole of the nation, standing together against all odds, is by far greater and would ultimately be more prosperous and viable than the sum of its distinguishable parts.

5. There is no doubt that the issue of Security remains at the front burner of priority areas that this Administration has given utmost attention to. As a follow up to our promise to re-energize and reorganize the security apparatus and personnel of the armed forces and the police, it is on record that this Administration has invested heavily in re-equipping our military in line with upgrading the platforms and firepower required to tackle the current challenges being faced in the country.

6. The net results of these efforts have been the number of insurgents and bandits who have willingly surrendered to our Security Forces and continue to do so through various channels and the Safe Corridor created for that purpose.

7. Government, however, realizes that victory on the battlefield is just one aspect of sustainable victory. We know that to fully win this war, we must also win the peace and real security lies in winning the hearts and minds of the affected citizens. To this end, working with our international partners and neighbouring countries, we would be deploying multi-faceted solutions that will be targeted at addressing human security at the grassroots, before it leads to insecurity.

8. Once again I would like to take a moment to remember and honour the gallant Military, Police Officers, and other security agents who have lost their lives in the cause of protecting the territorial integrity of this Nation against both internal and external aggressors, assuring their families that their sacrifices would not be in vain.

9. We equally remember and commiserate with Nigerians who have lost loved ones as a result of insecurity in different parts of the country. Every life matters and every single death caused by any form of insecurity is a matter of personal concern to me both as a citizen and as the President of this great country.

10. We remain fully committed to upholding the constitutional provisions that protect all Nigerians from any form of internal and external aggression.

11. On the economy, we have shown a high level of resilience to record some significant achievements despite the turbulence that has characterized our economy and indeed the global economy. The lessons we have learned and keep learning from COVID-19 have encouraged us to intensify efforts to mitigate its socio-economic effects on our Nation.

12. The major wins we have recorded can be clearly seen in Nigeria’s most recent Gross Domestic Product (GDP) figures released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). The 4.03% growth recorded in the third quarter of 2021 is indicative of the recovery being recorded in our economy and the confidence that is being shown through the policies that our Administration has put in place after the outbreak of the pandemic.

13. We may also recall that this recent growth is closely followed by the 5.1% (year on year) growth in real terms recorded by Nigeria in Quarter 2 of 2021. This growth was one of the best recorded by any nation across Sub-Saharan Africa. The 5.1% growth at that time was and remains the highest growth recorded by the Nigerian economy since 2014.

14. Despite the challenges we have faced as a Nation, the good news is that we have so far recorded four consecutive quarters of growth after the negative growth rates recorded in Quarter 2 and Quarter 3 of 2020 due to the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic.

15. On August 16, 2021 I signed the landmark Petroleum Industry Act into law. The signing of this legacy legislation is a watershed moment in the history of our Nation, considering the massive positive impact the new Act would have on the economy. I would like to sincerely commend the 9th Assembly for the grit they demonstrated, succeeding where others have failed, and the cooperation that led to the completion of this process after almost two decades.

16. Just like I stated during the investment trips and fora that I have attended recently, the legislation is expected to serve as a liberalizing force in the energy industry, and we are optimistic that this law will provide the much-needed legal, governance, regulatory and fiscal framework for the development of the energy sector, the host communities, and Nigeria as a Nation. Our objective to increase Liquefied Natural Gas exports and expand our domestic market is still very much at the forefront of some of the policies we would be pushing in the new year.

17. In year 2022 and going forward, our Administration would intentionally leverage ICT platforms to create jobs, while ensuring that the diversification of our economy creates more support to other emerging sectors. I am proud to announce that several foreign investors are taking advantage of our ranking as one of the leading start-up ecosystems in Africa to invest in our digital economy.

18. We have given the utmost priority to fighting corruption and other related offenses which have been a bane to the growth and prosperity of our dear Nation. We have made major strides and breakthroughs through the innovative use of technology and forensics in the investigative and prosecutorial procedures with commendable results to show that the anti-corruption drive of our Administration is succeeding.

19. In the meantime, the accomplishments that have been recorded so far can be traced to the dedication of the Nation’s anti-corruption Agencies who have received the necessary support needed to effectively prosecute their duties.

20. Despite our challenges in 2021, it was also a year in which the Administration executed successfully, key projects, programmes, and initiatives to fulfil the promises made under the Security, Economy Anti-corruption (SEA) agenda.

21. As we welcome 2022, let us, with hope, envision a year of continued progress against our combined challenges arising from security and socio-economic issues.

22. As it is said, the past is but a story told, the future will still be written in gold. Let us be united in our fight to keep our Nation united against all odds and with gratitude, celebrate life in this new epoch.

23. I wish you a very happy and prosperous New Year.

Muhammadu Buhari"

Family / 19-Year-Old Boy Slaps, Beats His Grandmom Over Food In Lagos (Pix, Video) by onthehill: 9:22am On Dec 28, 2021
19-Year-Old Boy Allegedly Brutalizes His Grandmom Over Food In Lagos (Photos, Video)

A 19-year-old boy, Tolu Olubunmi Bassey, has been accused of brutalizing his grandmother, 72, over food in Ogba area of Lagos State, IgbereTV reports.

It was gathered that the alleged assault occurred on Boxing Day, December 26, 2021.

According to a source, “He’s my cousin and him and his mom live with my grandmother. Yesterday, my grandmother bought kerosine and asked him to help her carry it, since he said he was hungry and was pestering her for food. He got angry and slapped her, then he started kicking her. His mom and his friends were there but they didn’t do anything.

This is not the first time he will beat her up. He has even beat up two of my uncles, one is my mom’s brother and the other is my aunt’s husband. He has gone out of control.

They tried reporting it to the police station in Ogba but the police asked us to pay N20,000 for them to bring him in for questioning. They are refusing to do anything and they’re saying its a domestic issue.

My cousin feels he is untouchable and keeps terrorizing everyone. How can a 19-year-old boy beat up his grandmother to the point that she was rused to the hospital and can not even lift up a spoon? Everyone is scared of him.”

Politics / 2023 Presidency: Why Nigerians Want Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi - Opinion by onthehill: 8:36am On Dec 28, 2021
Has anyone taken time to have an introspection and ask; why do Nigerians want Governor Ugwuanyi in the Presidency, come 2023? The answer is not far fetched as we can see in subsequent paragraphs of this very important piece.

Besides his landmark achievements and administrative experience as governor of Enugu state. H.E Ugwuanyi, is a highly de-tribalized Nigerian who doesn’t ponder ethnic and ethnocentric sentiments at everyone’s back against national unity. He is the best material for our present Nigeria, if we must remain one and indissoluble nation.

Talk about patriotism and you won’t be making a mistake in citing Gov Ugwuanyi’s patriotic fervour as the driving force behind his total transformation and development of Enugu state which Nigerians trust, he will replicate in the entire country as a patriotic Nigerian, in sincerity of words and action. Hence, Nigerians earnestly clamour for him as the found political messiah in the choice of a national leader to reenact his love for Enugu state for the entire nation. This is an uncommon.

We all know the problems facing Nigeria at present. These problems range from dwindling economic fortunes to insecurity, which has become pervasive in recent times. Mainly because of the activities of insurgents, banditry, terrorism and so-called unknown gunmen. Gov Ugwuanyi roven the ability to nip these in the bud by his widely celebrated security proactiveness as a governor.

On economy, Gov Ugwuanyi has put in place infrastructures in Enugu State, that have made the State a tourist destination and investors’ delight. These are no doubt will boost the economy of Enugu state as they yield enough Internally generated revenue to compliment the monthly allocation of the federal government. These feats are what Nigeria need to rise again and it is for these reasons that Nigerians want H.E, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to savage and bring sanity to the political and economic life of her nation.

How about youth friendliness and inclusion in the art of governance? H.E Ugwuanyi, is the doyen and the governor in Nigeria whose youth friendliness is unquantifiable. He has the exceptional record of appointing over 1,000 Enugu youths as the state management governance committees in the following capacities: Commissioners, Special Advisers, Board members, Senior Special assistants, Special Assistants, Technical Assistants, Executive Assistants. And many more. In fact, he is the highest employer of labour. The records are there.

Forthwith, Gov Ugwuanyi as President of Nigeria, come 2023, many Nigerian youths will be sufficiently engaged in government and governance; so much that terrorism, banditry and nknown gunmen activities will become unattractive to the bad eggs in youth’s constituency and insecurity will die a natural death in the surface of the Nigerian earth. This is also the most important reasons the people of Nigeria want this great iconic leader as President to lead them to the path of global recognition, having proven his mettle in that direction.

What of the promotion and encouragement of women participation in politics and governance? The government of Gov Ugwuanyi in Enugu state, has not only implemented the 35% affirmative action for women participation in governance, in obedience to the epochal Beijing declaration, he also surpasses it, giving the fact that evidence of women participation in governance in Enugu State are found in both appointive and elective positions. This was a rarity in the past as women were considered not fit to be in politics, talk more of being part of governance. This is another good area where Gov Ugwuanyi, for President is in high demand across the length and breadth of Nigeria.

Now let’s talk about age and energy. H.E Rt Hon Dr Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has the golden age bracket on his side and he is a simplified leader who is highly energetic and who is always bringing his resourcefulness to bear on projects projects monitoring, supervision and evaluation. It is this age legendary of the governor that Nigeria needs and this explains why the clarion call of his personality to make himself available for the rescue mission, come 2023.

His Excellency, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is one politician who is known for his politics of inclusion and leadership of accommodation regardless of political party leanings and affiliations. In 2015, the governor integrated former members of other political parties who worked against his election as governor into the administration of the state. He neither sidelined, nor persecuted any of one that fight him dirty, especially those who have been doing everything humanly possible to bring his administration down, by recruiting mediocrity and in a media war against the socioeconomic and political achievements of his government. He gave them political opportunities to turn into a new leaf with lots of empowerment programs to accommodate their insatiable interests in that direction as the of Enugu state, even as a member of PDP, he has nothing against the people fighting him, most of whom he made, but have chosen to remain on the other side of the political divide and throw tantrums at him.

Governor Ugwuanyi is a true democrat who is highly humane and tolerant enough to even accept all many unnecessary distractions from those he has helped to rise to power. Nigerians know him for this democratic virtue and as a result, in fact, all the people of new age are desirous of this uncommon transformer to be their next leader.

This piece will not leave off His Excellency, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s consummate public relations and human management as a factor to uniting all ethnic groups, irrespective of religions. The governor is not a localized Nigerian. He is a Nigerian who is well known across all the six geopolitical zones of the country, because of his enormous goodwill, awesome congeniality and trans-regional friendship. Ugwuanyi is a leader who had built trans-tribal bridges across Nigeria and who sees Nigeria from a holistic perspective, not from a tribal parochial prism. This uncommon latitude is another motivation for the clarion call by Nigerians to him to make himself available for the top job.

Democracy espouses freedom of expression and the right to political choice. Hence, this viral demand for Ugwuanyi’s Presidency.

To become the next President of Nigeria, come 2023 is in tandem with the ethos of true democratic practice and should therefore be considered by the governor with a view to harken to the voice of the people, which invariably is the voice of God.

Let’s support the people’s governor for unity, peace, love and progress of Nigeria, as our next President. The rescue of Nigeria, begins with you and me. Let do our parts as a people with uncommon goal and vision to make this happen.

Two Members Of A Kidnap Syndicate Terrorizing Ijebu-Ode And Its Environs Arrested (Photo)

Operatives of the Ogun State police command have arrested two members of a kidnap syndicate terrorizing Ijebu-Ode and its environ, IgbereTV reports.

The suspects, Samuel Oke Abiodun ‘m’ 46yrs and Denis Blessing ‘m’ 28yrs were arrested following a series of Kidnap cases in Ijebu-Ode, consequent upon which the commissioner of police, CP Lanre Bankole, gave a marching order to all the DPOs in Ijebu-Ode to fish out the perpetrators of the dastardly act within the shortest possible time.

Confirming their arrest, the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the DPO Igbeba division Csp Musiliu Doga and his crack detectives embarked on a technical and intelligence-based investigation which subsequently led to the arrest of Denis Blessing on the 8th of December 2021 in his house at Ijebu-Ode.

His arrest and confession led to the apprehension of Samuel Oke Abiodun in his hideout also at Ijebu-ode.

''On interrogation, the two suspects confessed to having participated in four different kidnap operations in Ijebu-Ode. They confessed to being part of a syndicate that kidnapped one Alhaja Salam Mojisola on the 6th of December 2021 at the entrance of her house situated at Akinsanya Street Mobalufon Ijebu-Ode.

They also confessed to the kidnapping of one Mrs Olaitan Daodu on the 26th of January 2021. Also, one Mrs Abimbola Bolanle Lateefat, the Deputy Director I.C.T department at Tai Solarin University of Education was also kidnapped by the gang on the 20th of May 2021. They also participated in kidnapping one Mrs Adegoke along Atan-Ijebu road.

According to the duo, their own assignment is to scout around, identify and monitor their would-be victim from their business places to their houses, and inform other members of the gang who will then block the victim mostly at the entrance of their houses and abduct such person,'' Oyeyemi said.

The Toyota Camry with registration number GGE 200 FN which is their operational vehicle has also been recovered.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole who commended the resilience of his men in smashing the syndicate has ordered the transfer of the suspects to the anti-kidnapping unit of the State criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation. Politics / Doyin Okupe Warns Femi Falana Against Speaking Ill About Pastor Adeboye by onthehill: 4:29pm On Dec 12, 2021
Former Presidential aide, Doyin Okupe, has warned human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, against speaking ill about Pastor E. A . Adeboye - the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, IgbereTV reports.

In a post shared on his Facebook page this morning, Okupe said he recently read a story online where Falana was quoted as saying Adeboye was building business centers and not churches.

Okupe said he has waited for Falana to debunk it and since he hasn't, he decided to caution the legal practitioner over the said comment.

His posts reads;

"FEMI FALANA AND THE DRUNKENNESS OF PUBLIC ADVOCACY.

A few days ago I read a news report credited to Femi Falana S.A.N.
He was reported to have said " Pastor Adeboye, you are building business centres not churches"
I have waited for 72hrs hoping that the highly acclaimed human rights lawyer and public advocate will deny the story. But this never happened.
Femi Falana is a personal friend and i could have taken this up with him privately. But i choose to comment publicly because of the public image of femi Falana who i recognise that he has a large following in the country especially among the youths and the civil society family both in Nigeria and abroad. It is imperative to publicly correct his falsehood lest he mislead many whi believe in him.
I write these comments not because i want to defend pastor Adeboye. I am by far too inconsequential to take up such a role.i know for a fact that those who defend pastor adeboye operate at such a sublime realm that I cannot even comprehend. And there lies the foolishness of falana's comments.
Pastor Adeboye and the RCCG are obeying the instructions of our Lord Jesus when he charged his disciples to go into every corner on the surface of the earth and preach the gospel.Mark16:15
This the RCCG complies with by spreading the gospel through the planting of churches erronously referred to as "business centers"all over the world, by femi Falana.
Secondly Christian's are mandated by the scriptures to give tithes and offerings.
The more members a church has, the more tithes and offerings it will collec abd the richer the churches get. Quite frankly also the richer the pastors and heads of the churches also get. Because they are scripturally allowed to partake in the wealth of the churches. 1 cor vs 13.
Those who work in the temple eat from the temple and those who serve at the alter share what is offered at the alter.
Falana can admonish the church as a christian to use a greater portion of their wealth to support the poor and the needy in the society, even the scriptures are full of such admonitions.
Femi Falana should stay in the areas of his core competence and not dabble into religion where obviously he is so uninformed.
Casting aspersions on great men of God like Pastor Adeboye is unwise and very very dangerous.

These great Generals in the Christiandom are certainly not infallible but because of the Lord's anointing they carry on their heads, even when they go wrong, they can only be judged by God Himself.
I will enjoin my brother and friend the highly respected silk to repent and ask for forgiveness from God for his reckless statement.
May the Lord forgive us all of our numerous sins in Jesus Name."

''STILL ON FEMI FALANA'S COMMENTS ON PASTOR ADEBOYE.

I have read the 30 or so responses to my comments on the above matter.
I stand by my views.
Nothing in this world can change my stand with Lord Jesus who is my only hope of glory.
As I wrote previously, my statement was not intended to defend Pastor Adeboye. I repeat I have no competence to do so. I do not say this to seek favour from pastor Adeboye but as a man of God if I find favour in his eyes I rejoice.
However i wrote for the exact reason which the many critics on my wall made their cases.
If money is collected from the satellite churches and sent to the headquarters , let the judgement be on them that administer the funds but let God who gave them commission be the judge, Not mere mortals like you and I who also have our own secret and presumptuous sins. As long as the gospel is preached the scripture is fulfilled. My faith, my reasoning and stand at all times concerning Christianity is based not any doctrine but strictly and solely on the word of God as expressed in the bible. No more no less.
Please read phillioians 1 vs 18
" what then? Notwithstanding every way, whether in pretence or in truth, Christ is preached and I rejoice, yes and will rejoice"
This is the word of God. And upon this I stand with no fear of contradiction or any equivocation whatsoever.
Business centres or not as long as Christ is preached, God's mission and Christ charge for Christians to go into all corners of the earth and preach the gospel is fulfilled."

A statement released by DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, spokesperson of the state police command, states that the pastor and his wife were arrested, following a complaint lodged at Adatan divisional headquarters by the victim, who reported that, while she went to the church for choir practice, the pastor's wife called and told her to go meet the pastor in their room as he wanted to send her on errand.

''She stated further that as soon as she got into the room, the pastor's wife locked the door from outside, consequent upon which the pastor overpowered her, and forcefully had sex with her. She explained further that the pastor's wife later came in after her husband has satisfied himself and met her crying and she told her to stop crying as she is now a woman. She then warned her never to tell anybody or else she will die.

On interrogation, the couple confessed to the crime but blamed the devil for it. They also pleaded for forgiveness from the victim.

The victim has been taken to hospital by the police for medical treatment.'' the statement in part read

Oyeyemi added that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, has ordered the transfer of the suspects to anti human trafficking and child labour unit of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigation, with the view to charging them to court as soon as investigation is concluded.

As a government that places priority on the lives of our citizens within and outside the state, we are determined to pursue this case to the end. As we continue to watch this case closely, we extend our prayers and support to the Oromoni family. As they mourn the loss of their young son, I pray that Almighty God gives them the strength that they need at this difficult time. Amen."
