I'm working on a project to develop an application for an imaginary real estate client. I normally buy my logos from a Ghanaian paddy down the block, for $20. This is a simple logo using part of the company name OAL Realty. Interested graphic lovers should post their simply 2-3 colors (preferably black, red and blue) design on nairaland (this thread). I will choose the best design and pay designer 5000 naira.

Note: File size is of high importance. Best design will be chosen on the 28th of he month.

Hi Everybody,
I actually did not want to comment on this topic initially,
but i found it necessary to do so now.
I am sure we are very use to the story in the Bible about Miriam Moses sister.
She critisized Moses for marrying a foreign wife.
Truely she was right but God was angry with her.
Why? She talked wrongly about God's anointed and she attracted God's wrath.
The result was that she became a leper.
Lets be careful with this topic.
Leave God's anointed alone. Let HIM be their judge.
If their claim to be called by God, then it is none of our business critisizing their wrongs
Thanks

@ zarah,
Your curiouslity will definitely leads you into problems.
Occult is never a place to be, forget what you may stand to enjoy temporily.
I am speaking from experience.
A man had a dog and wanted to know how many teeth his dog has.
He develop such thoughts for long time, until one day he had the opportunity to count the dog's teeth.
He put his hands into the dogs mouth and started feeling the teeth one after the other. On the other side the dog has also wanted knowing how many fingers the man has.
What a nice opportunity, the dog grab the fingers and started breaking them one after the other.
Zarah, this is for you. What an old man sees, a small boy even when he climb the trees will never see.

Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, no one comes unto the father but through him"
There are many ways that seems right unto a man, but at the en leads to destruction.
The love of money is the root of all evil.
The devil doesnt give any free gift.
If he gives you once, he takes from you twice.
Let's open our eyes wide and say NO to ekult of any kind.
I am strongly against cult.
For those who are already involved indirectly, i endeavour you to embrace God and invite the Lord Jesus into your life as your personal Lord and Saviour.

Hello everyone,

I am grateful for all your good contributions to this topic.

There is one more issue, how do we handle the problem of opposition from the both parents who sees the union as impossible due to language differences.

We did not consider this as problem since we are not tribalistic, but then how do we handle the Issue maturely?

I am from the North central while she is from one of the yoruba speaking states.

@OnTop

Let me ask you a question and think deeply about it:

Who do you want to get married to:
1) The Woman you love
2) The Children whom you havent known

NOTE: you always meet your wife first before you meet your Children.
@ Kimba,

your questions are worth thinking of.

Off course I will like to get married to the woman I love.

The woman that in ten years time she will still not be looking bad (in terms of age and look)

It is good to look at the content and at the same time pay attention to the container

I came from a family which pays so much attention on the age of the woman before marriage. My Dad gave my mum 10 years gab. He was 25 years when she was 15 years.

When we started our frienship nobody cares to ask how old are you. It was not a serious relationship and there was distance between us. Not Until after my NYSC 2 years ago when I was posted to a state where she resides. This time the relationship came up again. I have to decide the fate of the relationship now.

My question is this: Women are like flowers, they tend to grow older on time than the men. If we get married today, how will she look like in the next 10 years?

I love all the suggestions.

I will like whoever is replying to put himself or herself in my shoe and say exactly
what he or she will do. I need your best judgement.

I will also like to hear the views of the females in the house.

That might be of a great help.
RomanceRe: Long Courtship, Good Or Bad by ontop(op): 6:53pm On May 31, 2006
Dear Kimba,

You had just expressed my view.

If I get married to her I will be under too much tension, trying to rush the birth of my children, believing God to get twins or tripplet so as to catch up with flying time.

I dont want to live under pressure in my matrimonial home. Pressure of trying to beat time on the side of my wife to finish up with child birth before 35 years

I will have love it if there should have been 3 to 5 years gab between us.

You said prayer? I have never stop praying yet.

I do really need help now

ontop, i think u are just having cold feet.

8 years no be joke ooo. One woman and you for 8 years. And now u are thinking of breaking it off. If u don't want her to curse your entire generation, u better think twice. I'm sure u are just scared, whether she's the one, or maybe u found a girl in your office that wears small skirts, and now that one is dabaru-ing your brain.

My point is, Long courtship is good, but not "TOO" LONG COURTSHIP. 8 years? Kilode? haaaaa!
hot-angel,

I think it is better to have broken courtship than to have broken marriage.

What can you say about a lady who loves you much but you did not loves her that much?

She is the one giving 70 percent while you only 30 percent
I think it is better to quit the whole thing for her sake.

Such relationship I think will not favour the lady.

Actually, I am more worried about us being age mate

Come to think of women who prefered to be single and not married, a thought cames to my head about them. They are only showing their fear of sentence like "The husband shall be the head of the family"
May be to them this shows a kind of weakness to be controled.
Therefore, they choose to remained head of their own head.

The inferiority complex comes from various areas Looks, family background, education and personal income. Only a strong minded guy would over look all those things as long as the girl gives you the love and respect you deserve.

Yeah, successful women don’t get married because they are too busy being SUCCESSFUL…duh!!!
I dont consider it a success for a woman who is not married no matter your level of material possession, education, family background and social status.

The impression I got about an un married lady when she is due is inability to be submissive to a man.

It is irritating to see women who refuses to bow to the authority of men.

Men are the crown of women.

When you are due for marriage and you are not married it is just like a king without a crown.

I am speaking to the highly selective ladies who are waiting for MR PERFECT.

FoodCould I Get Rid Of Wrinkles Through Eating? by ontop(op): 5:17pm On May 22, 2006
Yesterday I was told that consumption of lots of fruit, vegetable and fish seem to reduce wrinkles. While red meats, sweet food all seems to increase wrinkles.
I would like to know how genuine is this information?

What on earth could stop me from eating food declared by the so called health professionals stating that it causes wrinkles? I mean foods like cakes and pastries, saturated fat in meat, sweetened drinks, full fat milk and cheese, processed meat, white potatoes, butter, ice-cream, alcohol, deserts etc

Should i restrict myself only to: olives, fatty fishes like sardines, grilled salmon, reduced fat milk, onions, fruits like apples, oranges and papaya (paw paw) and mixed berries, Yogurt, Nuts, Leafy green vegetables like spinach and pumpkins, garlic, eggs, beans, whole grain cereals like Quaker oat etc?

I will be glad if Nairalanders could come out and discuss this topic exhaustively.

What actually causes wrinkles?

I encourage members of this community to please share experiences and knowledge to benefit us.

We are all in the learning process, so lets do it together.

Okonjo-Iweala spoke out against the third term.

I would vote for Okonjo-Iweala (or El-rufai), if she shows interest and decide to run. She's what Nigeria desperately needs at this time. Someone also mentioned Dora Akunyili (sp.?) and I agree. These are people that could positively impact the country and move it forward, something naija really needs right now.
I am really impressed with the leadership qualities of some of our women leaders. They are outstanding. Every credits in the Obasanjo's government goes to them.
Good contribution from people like El-Rufai.

It will be nice if Nigeria could have a woman leader backed by a very strong VP like Buba Marwa etc

You are right. I wish the single parents could learn from their mistakes. Instead they seems to be more wild than the other ladies. I wondered why it is always so most times.
FamilyRe: Nigerians And Teen Pregnancy by ontop(m): 12:28pm On May 18, 2006
It is unfortunate that most Nigerian men dont like to marry ladies who has kids for other men. They believed that single mothers has already been devalued and there is nothing special about them anymore.

Nigerian and Africans as a whole celebrates virgines. Our cultures so much embresses it to the extend parents disown their daughters who got into such mess.

I must confess that it is lack of exposures. If I love a lady amd wish to spend the rest of my life with her, I will not consider that at all.

I want to ask nairlanders, how many of you guys will not mind marrying a single mother?

Rottweiler:
@Seun,
most people don't want government job. What people need is for government to create the enabling environment and infrastructure for private initiatives to take off and survive! The Minister of power and steel made it know 2 days ago that electricity will only be stable in 2056 (when I am dead). There are lots of guys out there doing things on their own but with electricity in a terrible state, they have been forced into other lucrative areas (oil bunkering, yahoo yahoo, armed robbery, etc). My company has been running on generators for almost 10years now! Can you beat that?
You talked about generators! Do they run on water? When we are concerned about emissions, global warming, etc. How much would a cyber café operator, photocopy center operator, tailor, barber, welder, technician, etc make if they all get generators for their business?
We should be realistic men!
When Obasanjo came to power, he promised to eliminate NEPA problem in Nigeria. But it is unfurtunate that it only became worser after billions of Naira has been spent.
What is happening?

Does it mean that we will never enjoy constant light in Nigeria?
I cant wait until 2056. That is rubbish.
The truth is that PHCN/NEPA problem has crippled many businesses in the country.
Tell me what profit can you make from a business which is being run daily on a generator instead of NEPA/PHCN? At the end of the day you discovered that you are running at a lost.

This for sure does not encourage young people like us to go into personal business that will have to do with electricity, except where there is enough capital to acquire a better reliable Generator set.
Let the government create an enabling environment for us and we will no more be stranded.

I must recommend what Governor Donald Duke is doing in Cross River, I mean the Tinapa project going on. That is a good example of leadership. Tinapa will create job opportunity for thousands of Nigeria.
People who wish to be self employ could also fit into the project too.

One of the greatest problem we have in Nigeria, is corruption and greediness amongs the so called privileged rich nigerians. They only dumped their wealth into bank deposits and never care about how to use their wealth to create job opportunity to the less privilege.

Imagine an individual buying a bullet proof car at the rate of Hundred million Naira (N100,000,000.00) just trying to create security for themselves. That money is big enough to invest where other people will benefit.

Think very well

Make sure you use symbols that will communicate your ideas of business

And the colour must be in harmony
