Sports / Real Madrid Vs Atletico Madrid Today At. 9pm by onuleo(m): 6:49pm On Sep 28, 2013
Carlo Ancelotti wants a big
improvement from Real Madrid
when they face city rivals Atletico in
the crunch derby at the Bernabeu
this weekend.
Los Blancos come into the match on
the back of a battling and
controversial win over struggling
Elche on Wednesday night.
The Andalusian side gave as good as
they got throughout the 90 minutes
and grabbed a late equaliser only to
be beaten by a controversial
stoppage-time penalty from
Cristiano Ronaldo.
Despite being far from their best,
Real took the three points which
moved them to within two of
Atletico and Barcelona at the top of
the Primera Division table, but
Ancelotti wants to see a vast
improvement on Saturday night.
"We need to play better," he said.
"We won't win the derby if we play
like we have done in this match,
that's why I think we need to
improve, play with more intensity
and personality."
The last time these two sides met
was in last year's Copa del Rey final
when Atletico claimed an historic
victory at the Bernabeu, beating
their near neighbours for the first
time in 14 years.
Joao Miranda scored the winner in
extra-time as Real were left with
just the Super Cup to show for
their season's efforts and
goalkeeper Diego Lopez is keen on
revenge.
"We are hungry and we want to
play well," he said.
"Especially because of what
happened last year in the Copa del
Rey."
He added on bwin's youtube
channel: "It is a very important
game but the game in Elche was
important and so were the other
games we've played, so it is
another match.
"It is one in which we have to give
everything, but with the difficulty
that we are playing against a great
team.
"They (Atletico) have built a very
strong squad and a very united
group of players who know what
they're playing at and what their
strengths are.
"We have to exploit the small
deficiencies they may have in their
game and have faith in our own
quality and our football and try as
impose that on them."
Gareth Bale missed out against
Elche due to his ongoing thigh
problem but is back in training and
could start alongside Ronaldo, who
has nine goals in his last five
games.
Bale's return could see Karim
Benzema or Angel di Maria drop to
the bench.
Atletico have enjoyed a 100 per
cent start to their league campaign
and were only beaten on away
goals by Barca in the Super Cup.
Central defender Diego Godin now
hopes they can carry that
momentum into the derby.
"We arrive with great confidence,
playing well, scoring goals, (it) is
the best way to tackle a derby," he
told Radio Marca.
"We know the way to win at the
Bernabeu. We respect every
opponent but we will work hard in
all areas.
"We're excited to play a great game,
physically and technically.
"Real Madrid are the favourites due
to their budget, and because of
recent derbies played at the
Bernabeu, but we arrive in a great
state."
Midfielder Mario Suarez is a doubt
for the visitors with a knee
problem after coming off injured in
the 2-1 win over Osasuna but
Rojiblancos coach Diego Simeone
has no other new worries.

Religion / Clearing air over "pope's tweet n forgiveness of sins" by onuleo(m): 8:36am On Jul 18, 2013
rather not as the world press puts it. But Papal court handling pardons
for sins says contrite Catholics
may win 'indulgences' by
following World Youth Day on
Twitte.

In its latest attempt to keep up
with the times the Vatican has
married one of its oldest
traditions to the world of
social media by offering
"indulgences" to followers of
Pope Francis' tweets.
The church's granted
indulgences reduce the time
Catholics believe they will have
to spend in purgatory after
they have confessed and been
absolved of their sins.
The remissions got a bad
name in the Middle Ages
because unscrupulous
churchmen sold them for
large sums of money. But now
indulgences are being applied
to the 21st century.
But a senior Vatican official
warned web-surfing Catholics
that indulgences still required
a dose of old-fashioned faith,
and that paradise was not just
a few mouse clicks away.
"You can't obtain indulgences
like getting a coffee from a
vending machine," Archbishop
Claudio Maria Celli, head of the
pontifical council for social
communication, told the
Italian daily Corriere della Sera.
Indulgences these days are
granted to those who carry
out certain tasks – such as
climbing the Sacred Steps, in
Rome (reportedly brought
from Pontius Pilate's house
after Jesus scaled them before
his crucifixion), a feat that
earns believers seven years off
purgatory.
But attendance at events such
as the Catholic World Youth
Day, in Rio de Janeiro, a week-
long event starting on 22 July,
can also win an indulgence.
Mindful of the faithful who
cannot afford to fly to Brazil,
the Vatican's sacred apostolic
penitentiary, a court which
handles the forgiveness of
sins, has also extended the
privilege to those following
the "rites and pious exercises"
of the event on television,
radio and through social
media.
"That includes following
Twitter," said a source at the
penitentiary, referring to Pope
Francis' Twitter account,
which has gathered seven
million followers. "But you
must be following the events
live. It is not as if you can get
an indulgence by chatting on
the internet."
In its decree, the penitentiary
said that getting an
indulgence would hinge on
the beneficiary having
previously confessed and
being "truly penitent and
contrite".
Praying while following events
in Rio online would need to
be carried out with "requisite
devotion", it suggested.
Apart from the papal Twitter
account, the Vatican has
launched an online news
portal supported by an app, a
Facebook page, and it plans to
use the online social
networking site Pinterest.
"What really counts is that the
tweets the Pope sends from
Brazil or the photos of the
Catholic World Youth Day that
go up on Pinterest produce
authentic spiritual fruit in the
hearts of everyone," said Celli.

Politics / How Do You Help A Friend Who Is Been Mobbed By Nigerian Soldier Men? by onuleo(m): 9:20pm On Jul 10, 2013
It was early this morning when i saw a friend across the road(just in front of wuse maket) and i decided to cross and say helo but before i would properly get to the other side of the road i saw my freind running past me with the speed of his life say at the same time "oga i no do you anything na, abeg" repetedly and in the next second i saw a military dressed up man folowing up the splint. 'Obraka golden fish' i said to myself( this was my friends best saying sha) just as expected the entire crowd in front of the maket started watching. The were rigmarowling like love birds for another 60minutes and all i could do for my dear old friend was stand, pray and watch. I even taugt of puting every scene on camera But thanks be to God before i finish saying my hail mary the soldies man triped and fell on the ground 'gboakadaba!' haay! the crowd exclaimed. My prayer worked, the soldier man fell and had a very bad injury to his knew, elbow and face, so i rushed to the soldier guy and i held him by the shoulder convincing that he need to get treated(since it was the only way i saw i could help my friend)
but still after this i was thinking.. What if my friend was caugt and mobbed? ..what if another day another of my friend was in a worse condition? Please my dear niaralanders help me reason the situation?
