Some people would doubt this story but truth is that many of the soldiers parading the roads in the east are soldiers of occupation. They see the citizens as less humans and ready to kill them at any prompting. They feel it's their birthrigt to extort money 💰 from road drivers. Their gun totting behaviour before unarmed civilians is menacingly outrageous.
They are very unprofessional and untrained soldiers

There are no shared value systems between these marching Muslims of northern Nigeria and the Christians of Eastern region of Nigeria. The colonial masters did a bad job in 1914 amalgamation of the north and south British protectorates in West Africa.
Commonly shared value systems are the bedrock of nationhood. Without that, a country may exist for more than a thousand years but can't make a nation, can't develop.

It's only southern Nigeria's politicians who don't know, or pretend they don't know, that the difference between the political leaders of the Sharia states and Bokoharam/bandits, is like the difference between six and half a dozen.

A politician like Orji Uzor Kalu from Abia state will tell you that Libyan nationals make up Boko Haram fighters.

Explain your thinking behind that position. Would you say it's corruption in the banking system that gave rise to ATMs? Because on a high level, both are the same. There are "private" ATM stands (i.e ATMs not owned by a specific bank) which are for all intents and purposes similar to agency banks (what we call POS today).

Corruption in the banking sector gave rise to ubiquitous POS shops in Nigeria.
At the beginning, the bank workers were owners of the POS outlets. The outlets proliferated all over the place such that the bank workers lost control of the spread.
Now Nigerian banks are closing shops and sacking workers due to proliferation of POS outlets and internet banking.

But the private ATM outlets in Europe are not as ubiquitous as the POS outlets in Nigeria. Banks in Europe are rather closing shops due to Internet banking, not due to proliferation of POS outlets.
