When a thought just flashed in your mind and you immediately resisted it,you have not sinned but when it came in and you entertained it, friend you have sinned and needs to ask for God's forgiveness. Jesus said that when you see a woman and lustfully look at her that you have committed immorality with her in your heart

Sometimes you don't need to explain as your friends don't need it and your enemies won't believe you. As the popular saying goes "silence is the best answer to a fool"

Believe me, you're trying to convert the wrong person. As a man of history, I'd like to remind you that the colonialists, when planning their incursion into our territory, used churches and 'missionaries' as their initial spies and 'pacifiers' of the peoples whose lands they sought to seize and loot for resources. You are actually a christian only as a fallout of western economic brigandage. Under normal circumstances, you shouldn't be a christian at all.

I don't even have the power to convert anybody but HE that converts will surely convert you in due time and having said that,I rest my case.

I agree with you 100%. We bear the responsibility of our destiny. It begins on the ground level with all of us. We need to start valuing our products as Nigerians, and investing in our own manufacturing as a country. I always get angry when we hire developer contractors from other countries. Sure they (sometimes) hire nigerians to do most of the building. However why not invest in financing hands on education for home grown nigerians to be able to learn how all of these projects are conducted, and then pay them to develop the country, keeping our money inside of our country insead of paying some external contractor from another country.

Yea, all we need is to encourage ourselves because as for all the resources (human and material) needed,we've got them in abundance. we just need to kill inferiority complex and come out of our shells.

Well I certainly wasn't 'blaming' anyone. All I did was outline the circumstances leading to decline. Sometimes external factors and players are involved in your demise. You must take them into consideration when planning your future. Identifying your enemies, or potential enemies, and checkmating their future interference, is about being smart, not about ''blaming''.

The Chinese and Japanese for instance, took a conscious decision to reject external influences like christianity. I think it served them pretty well.

I guess it was Christianity that brought about our technological comatose. True
Christianity is and will remain a blessing to any people that accept it and any person no matter who he/she may be that rejected it will have him/herself to blame and if you have not received JESUS CHRIST as your lord and personal saviour better do so now that you have the privilege before its too late, for your own good.

At some point we were bound to ''mess up'' as you put it. Just human nature. I read a book called the Destruction of Black Civilization in which the author, Dr Chancellor Williams traced the decline of black civilization to Africans losing possession of the Mediterranean coasts, which they had dominated from Egypt, roughly 2,000 years ago.

Infighting among the ancient Egyptian elite led to foreign invasions, and the eventual overthrow of African Egypt. This led to dispersal of blacks southwards, and then the desertification of the once fertile Sahara added to growing black African geographic isolation from the Mediterranean coast - the 'information highway' the Africans once dominated.

Africans got cut off to the point that Mali and Songhai emperors had to pay northern Arabs tribute, and even convert to Islam, in order to continue international trade on the trans Saharan - Mediterranean trade routes. This was the beginning of African isolation and dependency.

Africa fell behind technologically, as those at the northern coasts partook of the Mediterranean information exchange involving China, India, Europe, the Levant etc, that eventually culminated in the industrial revolution of the 1780s.

That's the main reason we're playing catch up. Historical displacement and isolation.

We have to take full responsibility of our downfall and then put heads together to map out our route back to the top and religiously pursue it; if we don't want to remain colonized and re-colonized in this 21st century. blaming anybody will not do us any favour .

We are not ''thousands of years behind'' anybody. China was an underdeveloped region in the 1970s. Most folks rode around in bicycles. It took them less than 30 years to become an industrial giant. If we execute the right policies, we can be an advanced region in under 30 years.

If you don't know where and when rain started beating you, where and when it stops you won't equally know. What happened that made the leader to become the led? I understand the point you are trying to make but we have to accept the fact that we messed and are still messing up and that's when we will be able to retrace our steps and retake our position.
