How
Please don't listen to those boys. Just like the guy said, the dad got what he meant.

If you start getting worried now that should be for nothing and if the guy is worth it, you might loose what you need.

If I introduced my wife as my lover or girlfriend to my mom when we were dating, she would have done everything in her power to break the 'sinful' relationship grin

The blog is just too damn childish. If they wanna lie, at least they should do so smartly.
True. I have seen a few anti APC articles on SR too. However, I think these guys are just starting so they would like to attract funding from the other side without any hassles.

Absolutely. I'd be damned visiting that blog. We all know their antecedents. One day they say Buhari owns a N2.1billion mansion in Asokoro, the next day they criticise him saying he's worth N900million and must have lied trying to make us believe he borrowed money to acquire a nomination form from his party.

Look at the log of their stories the first poster in that thread I quoted referenced, aren't they just appalling?? 99% of their stories is an attack on Buhari or his family.

It is no surprise on PDP supporters present the forum with stories from the blog.

Why should I take such people seriously
Its true the blog is anti-Buhari just like Sahara reporters is anti GEJ.

Sahara reporters started like them and they have never stopped. People weren't taking SR serious at first because they just attack without confirmation until it appeared they got more funding and some of their stories started coming out true. I think breaking times is starting to tow the same line.

If they hadn't lifted the story from Sahara Reporter (by referencing Sowore), the story would have been totally false.

I just don't understand why people visit that blog- perhaps to check out the latest lie against the President/Government and have a good laugh?

There is simply no truth in anything published by thebreakingtimes, just like hopefornigeria, theguardiannewsusa and the rest of those PDP sponsored blogs.

Hi Pals, Am Always Here Again and Am So Sorry To Bother You, But You’ve Got No Choice. Lol. I wanna Show You Webmasters How To Know The Full Properties or Software Of What A Particular Website Your Are Viewing Is Using And Running On or Even Made Of. I Guess You Gonna Think Like “Damn, This Dude Loves Mozilla”, Yeah, I Use It Well
and I Love You Too. So Muah.

Hey don’t get carried away. am gonna be talking about a cool Mozilla plugin and and gonna show you where to download it and install it and also use it.
The Name Of This Plugin Is called “WAPPALYZER”, its an Open-Source Extension by Elbert Alias. Its One Of the Mozilla Extensions that I really love and use as a web-master because it stops me from a long guess of what a Site is running On and Using, though the name ain’t sounding Lovely, but anything that sounds Horribly really Rocks. lol.

WAPPALYZER is said to be a browser extension that
identifies software on a website or better still define it as a browser extension or cross-platform that uncovers the technologies used on a website. it detects the content management systems, e-commerce platforms, web servers, javascript frameworks, analytic tools. Believe me, if you are
really a web-master and someone that really has passion for it, then i will highly recommend this great tool for you and you gonna find yourself feel like a guru. This Extension detects so many applications of a site which am gonna be
listing below and also give some sample.

Ok, no offense but I asked because the CSS is pretty simple and I felt that if it was getting the svg icons that is the problem, then you should visit https://icomoon.io and generate it.

Then the CSS

nav{
display: table;
padding:0;
margin:0;
background:#333;
border-top:3px solid #936;
overflow:auto;
width:100%;
}
nav ul{
list-style-position:none;
width:100%;
display:table-row;
}
nav ul li{
display: table-cell;
width:16.5%;
border-left:1px solid #666;
vertical-align:middle;
}
nav ul li:first-child{
border-left:none;
}
nav ul li a{
padding:20px;
font-size:16px;
text-align:center;
color:#ddd;
display:block;
text-transform:uppercase;
text-decoration:none;
}
nav ul li a svg.icon{
display:inline-block;
font-size:30px;
color:#0CC;
}
nav ul li a span{
display:block;
clear:both;
}

.icon {
display: inline-block;
width:1.09em;
height:1.09em;
line-height:1;
fill: currentColor;
}

The HTML

<nav>
<ul>
<li>
<a href="#">
<svg class="icon"><use xlink:href="svgdefs.svg#icon-bi"></use></svg> <span>Bi, Data & Analytics</span>
</a>
</li>

<li>
<a href="#">
<svg class="icon"><use xlink:href="svgdefs.svg#icon-erp"></use></svg> <span>ERP CRM</span>
</a>
</li>

<li>
<a href="#">
<svg class="icon"><use xlink:href="svgdefs.svg#icon-security"></use></svg> <span>Information Security</span>
</a>
</li>

<li>
<a href="#">
<svg class="icon"><use xlink:href="svgdefs.svg#icon-architecture"></use></svg> <span>Architecture & Stratergy</span>
</a>
</li>

<li>
<a href="#">
<svg class="icon"><use xlink:href="svgdefs.svg#icon-energy"></use></svg> <span>Energy Technology</span>
</a>
</li>

<li>
<a href="#">
<svg class="icon"><use xlink:href="svgdefs.svg#icon-technology"></use></svg> <span>Information Technology</span>
</a>
</li>

</ul>
</nav>

The HTML above assumes that you named the svg file generated from icomoon, svgdefs.svg and it is inside the same directory as the HTML file.
Also the line <use xlink:href="svgdefs.svg#icon-technology"> for example assumes that the icon for Information Technology Menu is linked to #icon-technology in the svg definition file so be ready to modify that part to suit what you generated.
Again I did not specify the @fontface for the font used for that menu.

But true, tables have been discouraged for non tabular data
Even for tabular data, you can style your divs to display:table-cell, display:table-column and get exact effect as tables.

Not at all because dreamweaver has a wysiwyg interface and a text-editor one too. But i hope you have coded with notepad not notepad++?

Notice the difference? It is what brings out the intellect in you and fires your imagination and inspiration up...sending it on a marathon race... Have you been in a situation of debugging a badly written website with a notepad not notepad++ or sublime or any other text-editor that highlights syntax for you? You should know what am saying if you have because that is the most boring and hard thing to do. But after getting it right, trust me, you have attained a new level in your web development cycle.

Kudos...

The question he asked was if you cant code raw with DW since your previous post was classifying DW as just wysiwyg.
This last explanation you gave confused me so much that I cannot place what your position is on the debate.

AkunneObinna:
Wow thanks guys I will apply this right now. I was even hoping to use JavaScript and apply mouseover and mouseleave event handlers to create some effects on the tab, when the user hovers his mouse around the nav element. But the hover you gave is it compatible cross platform more than the JavaScript event handler?
Yes it is just the normal hover event you can give to any element so its cross platform except for opera mini which you know is operating on a different level altogether.
Now, if the effects you are talking about is drop down menu, you still can do that purely with css only. Javascript is only required to cover for some mobile browser like opera mini and uc browser which doesnt deal well with hover events.
Let me know if you want the navigation above to drop down for sub menus on hover.

Never knew it was a win or lose situation for you. Meanwhile good to admit you didnt read my post well before you replied. It would have made a lot of difference if you did.
Finally, if you are a beginner yourself how would you know who is misguiding you or what amounts to misguide?
Webmasters / Re: How Do I Make This Text Align In The Tab by onyengbu: 8:24pm On May 20, 2015
why not show us the css and html of that menu. It appears you gave the parent container a fixed height.
If that is the case, you have to give the container containing the elements a line-height property. That line-height must get the value of the height of the parent container to make vertical alignment possible.
However, if you did that, its a wrong way of going about it you do not need to give them specific height, just use padding to get it to the height you want.
For example below is a simple horizontal navigation that has a black background and the links background changes to white on hover. Notice I did not use any height.
CSS

nav{
display:block;
background-color:#000;
}
nav ul{
list-style-type:none;
display:block;
}
nav ul li{
display:inline-block;
text-align:center;
}
nav ul li a{
display:block;
padding: 6px 10px;
text-decoration:none;
color:#fff;
}
nav ul li a:hover{
background-color:#fff;
color:#000;
}

HTML

<nav>
<ul>
<li><a href="#">Home </a></li>
<li><a href="#">About </a></li>
<li><a href="#">Projects</a></li>
<li><a href="#">Contact</a></li>
</ul>
</nav>

This is a very simple horizontal navigation that will fit the space in the pic you uploaded. To adjust the height of the navigation, just tinker with the padding in the nav ul li a{} block.

Dreamweaver is bloated and clumsy to use
Dreamweaver code generation is a mess.
Pro web designers don't even do drag and drop

Have you ever tried plugin-reinforced sublime? It's a beauty.
how can you possibly read everything you quoted and still talk about drag and drop, code generation, bloated and clumsy?
Its like you guys just read some anti-DW blog posts, copy the terms you see there and jump in here to argue without even knowing what you are arguing about. Theres no sign that you read and comprehend what you are arguing about.
If you read my post which you copied, you woulda understand that I and some other people here are talking about using DW in code view and hence issue of code generation will not arise.
I am more convinced most anti-DW guys HERE are just here to claim Pro and nothing more.

Heavy!!
W3c incompatible
Supports poor code, because it's a wysiwyg editor obviously

I'm not trying to get into a fight with you. If you've never used sublime text, you should give it a trial.

Dreamweaver has built up a bad rep, and whether it improves on its plain text editor or not, there are others better in that category today.
Somebody just asked you up here, does DW generate your codes for you in code view?

If the code you created is W3c incompatible it is your fault not Dreamweaver's.
You have stubbornly kept mentioning WYSIWYG and it is suddenly becoming clear to me that either you have never opened DW code view or you have not even used DW at all.

I have used your Sublime text and it is also good but there are things DW can do for me that it cant.

So my question: do you know what DW code view is?

Keep booming in your ignorance, that's why we keep having ugly, static websites. I can't point to one single unique, dynamic Nigerian website. Few are built with ordinary bootstrap.

Even the best e-commerce websites we have here, jumia and konga, are hardly responsive on capable mobile Web browsers.

We build websites in this country like we are building it for 2008 opera mini mobile browser. Smh

@onyengbu

You are newbie.

I am very sure you know nothing about css frameworks, or how to build dynamic, responsive websites

Dreamweaver is not built for serious Web designers, it is only in Nigeria that this is still a debate.
I am sure you are desperately trying to get into a fight with me but unfortunately for you, I wont indulge you.

This is an argument that requires people to put across reasons why they think DW is good or bad. You are not doing any of that instead you are massaging your inconsequential ego.

If you have your reasons why Dreamweaver is so bad, let us hear, thats all I can tell you.

Trust me sir, dw was built purely to serve as 'a web design graphic tool'. The major focus was actually the design view. Adobe added the code view because it wil be wierd to have it without a code view. Adobe specializes in graphics software. Raster graphics (photoshop), vector graphics (illustrator), magazine graphics (indesign), web graphics (dream weaver), video graphics (premiere), etc.

Dw is good, but web design community world wide rejected it because it was not built for them. Adobe built it for 'designers.'
Your logic does not really stand. How can you say it was not built for webdesign yet it does all the webdesign stuffs and even more. You cited notepad++ yet I can name things DW can do that notepad++ cant and yet I cant see those that notepad++ can do that DW cant.
Again, saying that web design community rejected DW is an assertion you cant prove.
If it was built for graphic designers, how come many newbies that use DW cant even open all the graphic design tools you mentioned. Its easier to say that it was built for newbies than saying its for graphic designers.
All in all, one of the things that matter most to me in my line of work is speed of coding and DW help to achieve that better than notepad++. No need to come here and claim I dont use DW because it might make me look like a newbie.
