Well, except you want to use it as a text editor. But dw was not actually built to serve as a text editor. It was built for graphics designers that use adobe graphics software so that they can use their graphics skill to become an automatic web designers by doing drag and drop in dw. This is why you can design a nice template on photoshop and slice it and export as html and dw will convert it to a website using table. Wierd.

If it was not designed to serve as text editor why does it have the code view? Why does it have code auto completion and syntax highlighting? The part about it being made for graphic designers will shock even the makers of the software.
The thing here is that people like saying that DW is for amateurs just to make themselves feel like pro (i dont mean you).
Dreamweaver have code and design view and which one you decide to switch to determines your level of competitiveness. I love DW so much because of code completion, syntax highlighting, search and replace, updating renamed files sitewide and other life saving features no one hardly mention when they talk down on DW. It is true that any serious coder have no business switching DW's design view or letting it create functions for you but those are not just what DW is all about. It is a much more advanced and useful tool.
DW is not dead like people like to say in public because most people still use it in the comfort of their computers just that there seem to be this stigma hanging over its shoulder that make people deny it in public.
That I am sure is connnected to the fact web design newbies also find unguided solace in making it a tool of choice.

Fist step is to desist from clicking filthy updates that finds their way to your wall.
Secondly go to your privacy settings and change who should have access to post on your wall. Then if you have already granted permission to filthy updates posters, check and revok the permission.

You dissapointed me there cos I was hoping to hear why you think it wont work. You havent tried it yet you have a 'feeling' it wont work. Ok ooo. That sounds like arrogance to me since you are just thinking about doing such an age long process for the first time and yet you 'feel' a suggestion you are given wont work without tendering any technical reason why you think so.
Your method is just not very different from what I said earlier except it has some few shortcomings. What about pages without querystrings?
Again my method also incorporates guest viewers who are counted by generating unique session id on entering the site.
Lastly, I am not profering an idea that might work, I only told you what I have been doing for years now.
Anyway I have a feeling contributed my own bit to the discussion.

if you are even just an intermediate php coder, it is one of the easiest thing to do.
Just store users details in database when they login and update the page url each time they enter any page. Then on pages like this reply page, select logged users whose page url matches the current page. Those are the ones viewing it.
Its pretty easy.

you need to upload your files on the folder named public_html.
I am certain thats not where you uploaded it. Except your website is just one page html file named homepage.html.
If that is the case, rename homepage.html to index.html and it will work.
