Donpre: Unizik is accredited and it's a good school 2015: 292.5 The MDCN accredited quota for Medicine and Surgery is 100. There's no such ratio in any university in Nigeria. What we have is Merit: 60% Locality: 25% and Educationally Less Developed states: 15% Please note that yearly thousands of people apply for medicine in a limited space of 100. Last year almost 7000 people applied for medicine in Unizik, aside the prescience thing other universities have higher numbers for fewer spaces some having as many as 12000 applicants. So you know only the very very best are picked. All over the world Medicine and Surgery remains the most noble profession and the competition for admission is very tight(forget those adverts that promises you 1st class admission into medicine in various countries, if you are not hardworking you'll end up in a science or allied health course. There medicine is a 2nd degree and u must 1st attain a very high CGPA in your 1st and a very high MCAT score afterwards so you see it's not as easy as it looks) Not everyone would be admitted, but people would be admitted. You can be among the few. so disabuse your mind from the so called : I wasn't given admission because I don't know anybody thing. It's a means people console themselves for their failures. STAY AWAY FROM SUCH PEOPLE. Work hard too. I hope to see you doing resisdency under me someday. GOODLUCK FUTURE DOC 1 Like |

IFEZINX1: Told you earlier, I'm tired of my friend this, my sister that. I want someone to come out and say I SCORED THIS AND WAS NOT GIVEN" Also noted that Admission isn't based on JAMB Alone, how was his WAEC, post UTME if any. There's what we call MERIT, LOCALITY AND ELDS that also would be taken into account. As for the guy with 223 if truly there is, the supplementary thing is still there, or vc list as people call it. But it's very FEW. And trust me, almost all of them would eventually be flushed out if they don't situp. My friend study hard and stop lying to yourself and giving yourself fake hope. If medicine is what you want work hard you'll get it. I wrote JAMB twice so I could endup in Medicine. My 1st JAMB got me my 2nd choice. Medical Laboratory Science I had one of the best CGPA's in year 1. But that wasn't what i wanted so i had to putin again in year 1 workered harder, restratigized and prayed. We thank God it was successful. That was years back. The problem most people have is that instead of looking inwards and blaming themselves and then go back to the drawing board, find loopholes and restratigized and work harder. Instead the rather compensate themselves by going insearch of stories about a friend of a friend who scored 400 and wasn't given and 1 Proffessor son who had 190 and was given and all that trash. My 1st JAMB i missed medicine by 5marks but I never blamed anyone, I blame myself for not working hard enough couple with Secondary school mentality. Hope this helps 1 Like |

nelszx: 1stly, There's no big deal weda order or request. A doctor orders a test to be done, or he request a test result. 2ndly Medicine has always been medicine from the ancient times, they were only 3 learned professions; The Physician, The Scribe(Lawyer), The priest. Everyother profession was referred to as Phylosophy and grew from there. Please make good to check that up: the origin of the title Doctor (both Academic and medical). Medical laboratory science grew from medicine, in the past doctors carried out laboratory investigations themselves, but due to the fact that it was too stressful having to carry out a laboratory test, and inteprete it and come to a diagnosis and therapy. The brought in some groups of semi illiterates (what today we now have as MLS) to help them out with running of the test which they saw as having need less skill and was less noble for doctors to do. Hence the word ORDER for a test as the were working under doctors, but in the modern day Healthcare were there's harmony and to promote unity the word ORDER is becoming obsolete, and REQUEST is being preferred. Although some countries still uses that term. #Back to my story. Over the years, This semi illetrates started acquring more and more training and went on more research and started gaining independence from the doctors who taught them this craft and inorder to meet with the ever unending modernization of healthcare care and advance medical practice. MLS was upgraded into a diploma and later a Degree as it is now and some countries Doctorate Degree. Or what we call MLS.D or D.MLS. #REFERENCES: History of Laboratory practice. Origin of Medical laboratory Science Difference between a pathologist and a Laboratory Sciencist . Hope we good 1 Like |

IFEZINX1: Stop peddling lies. Medicine admission is strictly on merit there's no way you beat the cutoff mark and won't get admitted. If you doubt me show proof of yours or anyone's once I verify it I would give you 30,000naira. Free money. Just proof me wrong. As for VC List, there's always going to be a FEW persons who would make it in through that but trust me if they don't sit up they'll be flushed out, just like they did in my time. Please I'm tired of seeing all this; my friend father this, my uncle's sister that. Show me proof that you actually beat the porn and make free money. Be guided in your statement please.
