After 4yrs of being an active member on Nairaland finally today I’m FTC. I dedicate this achievement to Deborah the innocent girl who was unjustifiably killed by some marijuana smoking, drug inhaling uneducated, pedophilic religious extremists in Sokoto. Please show some love by clicking on the like button. May her soul rest in peace |
NwaAmaikpe:As a Doctor I salute your lies Sir |
Like if you feel Kim Jung Would assassinate the patient |
heendrix:Oga, you must be really S L O W. Good bye |
heendrix:Lolx, the Local Government Chairman is now responsible for electricity for the whole of Cross River State. Please which of the 18 local government chairperson is to blame? CRS has been without light for well over a month, the least the VP could do is sympathize with the state. How do you solve the problem of the common man when you don’t know the problem? Imagine Buhari telling you he’s not aware of the ASUU strike because Nigeria has so many ministries and Education is just one of it and tertiary education is but a small faction of the education ministry. Would that be pardonable? |
Nifemi2512:I’m a surgeon, I own solar and a backup generator. I’ve 24hrs light doesn’t make me ignorant of the plights of Cross Riverians. How do you expect to solve Nigeria’s problem when you don’t know the problem? We are not asking for immediate light but just an acknowledgment of the problem. Electricity is a national issue, her burden doesn’t lie on the state alone. I know you’re a fan of Starboy, but please don’t showcase your ignorance and sentiments in public |
As a fan of Osinbajo and Resident of Calabar, Cross River State. It saddens me that Calabar has been without electricity for over 1 month and Osinbajo visited the state and never commented on the electricity problems of the state, as an incumbent Vice President and Presidential aspirant. It goes a long way to show the kind of President he’ll become |
It is very sad that the minister of State for Education and the Labor minister (the two ministries primarily responsible for ending the ASUU Strike) alongside the Incumbent Vice President would have the effrontery to vie for the office of President when Millions of Nigerian youth lie ideal at home wasting their lives and years. As a point of reference it’ll take the highest paid professor in a Government university 20yrs to earn a net salary of 100million naira. Yet these ministers pay 100m as though it’s chicken fee so why shouldn’t lecturer’s demand better. Also I blame the ASUU President for not being proactive, for being too laid back and not employing young minds to help in their agitation. ASUU is too laid back, the President should be on every television station and top social media pages like @instablog, etc telling the world how these individuals don’t deserve to vie for any office when they’ve failed to resolve the current educational crises which is their primary responsibility. It’s not enough to down tools and go home to sleep, these people want something, they’ve an ambition, threaten their ambitions and watch them settle ASUU ASAP. ASUU leadership is old and naive and don’t want to employ young brains to enable them use social media to their advantage. P. S During General elections these same lecturers are the people politicians use to rig elections for themselves so why are they complaining of bad leadership when they rigged the leadership into power |

AFONAMARO:How exactly does it contradict? I just told u, the best politician wins the election not the best candidate, Tinubu is clearly the best politician, he might not be the best candidate |
richeeyo:My guy the internet contains so much information all you need to do is filter out the authentic ones and READ. US did not conquer Iraq in 4 days like you claimed, the war lasted over a month and it took several other months before their president was captured. As at March 2003 during the Iraq invasion Iraq had nothing close to the 4th biggest army in terms of findings or personnel. It was in 1990 when Iraq increased their troops to over 900,000 thousand that the Iraq had the 4th largest army but as at the time of the invasion Iraq had least than 350,000 troops. US wasn’t the only country that invaded Iraq though they lead the invasion Great Britain sent over 45,000 British soldiers, Poland and other countries sent troops. Iraq didn’t have any military aid from any country like Ukraine is having now (over 2 billion dollars worth of military equipments have been sent to Ukraine so far, alongside intelligence) Iraq fought the US and all her Allies alone. So when next you come public to compare the US led invasion of iraq with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine get your facts right. They’re very widely read people on Nairaland that are very knowledgeable. |
OMENKAismad:. The Igbos would not like this fact, but the Buhari led FGN whom you dislike so much is the biggest customer of innoson products, the Nigerian Military, Police make large scale orders of innoson vehicles, a feat even Innosen admitted publicly. Yet the Igbos are always so quick to point out victimization or point fingers to Dangote. |
Maryjane001:No problem, the way pharmacy students usually make it seem like they’re first considering reeks of low self esteem. Your earlier post made it seem like pharmacy students were the only ones pardon while in reality, it was the medical students who were pardon and by extension pharmacy. In school I was given a picture that during service pharmacist were first consideration but getting there I realized that wasn’t the case. I don’t know why u guys always try to put up a false picture every time |
Maryjane001:Medical students were the ones pardoned |
If he felt disrespected by Rock words, why didn’t he slap his wife for disrespecting herself for having an “entanglement” with August. Will Smith should be awarded “The SIMPson’s” award for biggest SIMP. His wife is so manipulative. |
As a doctor, following her prolonged period of sub fertility, the children not being identical, I can almost certainly say it was “Assisted reproductive technology” Please ladies and parents when thanking God for answering your prayers give credit to the doctors who assisted, and when people ask tell them how you did it so they can go get solution for themselves too. Don’t hoard that information. Help people spread the good news, no one would beat you and it won’t make your babies any less of a child. Anyone who understands how A. R. T works knows that when you see prolonged period of sub fertility with a resulting multiple gestation (more than one foetus) there’s an almost certain chance it was assisted. Multiple eggs are fertilized to increase the odds of success. Try the thank the doctors and give other subfertile couples update |
Tallpanther:You don’t have to call me a short man to state your point. At 6.3 I’m taller than 96% of the world’s population, I’m anything but short. P. S I can still teach you how to dress properly even at your height |

Xhuntra:What do you gain from editing pictures? |
NwaIgboBoy:Following your logic, the Igbos don’t have oil either. That’s why u keep dragging south south into your Biafra. We indigenes of SS are NOT interested in Biafra |
JudasNaKarrot:You people just come to Nairaland and say things from the point of ignorance. Please who are the real gladiators? Who in Nigeria is a better politician than Tinubu? He might not be a good leader or a healthy one at that but one thing we know for sure is, HE IS A GOOD POLITICIAN and he is definitely the msn to beat. Although he’s not my choice |
The reason doctors are paid more or started higher is not solely because “MEDICINE” is almighty. A lot of factors come into play. 1.) Duration of training, most times people see the difference between Engr or Law (a 5yr course) and medicine (6yrs) as one year when in reality it’s a lot more, an average course has 4 months in a semester (in an ideal situation, because even if there’s strike, the medical students also have academic activities suspended) and they usually have 10 semesters in a 5yr program, this at an average of 4 months a semester gives you 40months, in medical school both 400 and 500lv averages 17 months of academic activities each with no semester break in between and final year is 11 months. This gives you 45 months of academic activity which is already more than what an average 5yr course would offer, and this is just year 4 to final year. We still have year 1 to 3 which gives you about 20 months of academic activities. “PhD requires 280 weeks for completion inclusive of BSc and MSc periods while MBBS/MD/BDS/DD requires 264 weeks; PhD requires 20 semesters while MBBS/BDS requires 19.5; overall, PhD requires 10 academic years inclusive of BSc and MSc periods while MBBS/BDS requires 9.75; medical fellowship requires between 576-680 weeks inclusive of MBBS/BDS/DD/MD periods translating to 42.05-52.05 semesters with an average of 21.75 academic years. Compare to PhD that can only boast of 10 academic years. “The statistics above when translated to course credit units saw that even the MBBS/MD/BDS/DD were well above PhD. “The PhD is way below the post doctoral medical fellowship conferred by the NMCN” 2.) Pay is determined by the utility you provide, which is subjective. All over the world health is usually seen as one of the biggest assets in a given society, hence the WHO recommendations of 5% GDP to health. Doctors play a pivotal role of improving the health of the society and people usually go to great lengths to get better when ill the lengths cannot be compared to any other sectors. 3.) Cost of Training, we can all agree that the cost of medical school all over the world is usually higher compared to other areas of specialty. 4.) The high degree of skill, precision and dexterity that the job requires is one of the factors that determines the pay required for a job. 5.) Risk, in the healthcare sector the risk a doctor is exposed to is 2nd to known as the doctor is usually first contact, take Covid pandemic and Lassa fever as case study, several doctors have died as a result of doing their jobs, several others have been exposed to HIV, hepatitis b, etc. A job requiring greater risk also requires greater pay. Sometimes doctors are compared to soldiers when it comes to risk, but a soldier is not constantly being exposed to risk only during a period of conflict but each the a doctor goes to work, he meets several patients who constantly pose a health risk to him. Moreover, a lost soldier can be trained and replaced in a year, it takes 7yrs to 17yrs of training to replace a doctor (depending on his skills). 6.) Demand and Supply, the demand for a particular skill and the difficulty to access one with such expertise also accounts for the pay(salary of such services). All these are some of the factors that accounts for the higher entry levels of Doctors in the government parastatals. A doctor can easily get a job in any country of his choice if he considers the welfare package in such a region attractive, so in a bid to discourage brain drain in Nigeria’s healthcare sector doctors are given attractive offers in Nigeria to hold them down. Though I personally don’t think this offers are good enough, as the financial expectations demanded by the society in Nigeria is higher than those placed on graduate of other specialties. Once your family hears you’re a doctor, the bills never stop coming, even your barber would increase the charge for his services. In conclusion I think the difference in starting point is justified although I strongly believe doctors should earn more, as the stress that comes into place from working as a doctor in a Government own hospital is a lot and the compensation is not commensurate. There’s gross shortage of man power, lack of essential facilities all these causes the doctor to over stress in an already stress job. Master Oogway |

NwaAmaikpe:As a Doctor, I must commend you for writing a very beautiful piece of NONSENSE |
FIFA HAS ALWAYS INSISTED THAT SHE IS POLITICALLY NEUTRAL. Ayemileto:This is a developed country, they’ll eventually conquer it, even the Ukrainian president knows this. This war is barely 4 days old. What more do u want?? |
