Never allow what people say deter you from getting what you want. Last year I was on this forum. I must admit that it was extremely helpful. I read comments over and over again. However, I noticed some people just have the pull down spirit, they are always ready to pull you down. I applied for my study permit and within seven working days I got an approval... some doubted me and asked for screenshots. I didn’t mind anyone afterall I wasn’t in competition with anyone or to prove anyone right or wrong. Do what you have to do, just know that this forum is extremely helpful but at the same time we have people who can easily deter you from achieving what you want. |
Surprisingly people are now turning to agents, do we consider that as an act of laziness or fear? No agent can promise you 100% approval of visa but at least be sure they can promise you for an agent fee. When we joined we read from seasoned people on the page, we read from thread to thread and we got it right without paying a dime. Trust me you don't need an agent. All you need is time to research and ask questions here. May God answer each of us our prayers. |
The road has never been smooth, you can ask anyone who is in Canada, it gets tougher in your first three to six months here so brace up. If your dream is to study in Canada, never give up. If you have been refused reapply but this time make it stronger. If you are just in the process of applying take your time and do it right. Yes people are being refused everyday the same way people are getting visa everyday. Let's just take our time and make sure we handle issues well. Just hope and prepare well l, don't hesitate to ask questions too, trust me you will get it even if it means coming late. Wish you all the best. |
Fatimaochojila:From what I know, you can start your medical examination but unfortunately some part of it (x-ray) can only be done after you give birth. Consequently what this means is that, you can only pass or fail your medicals after you give birth. My suggestion therefore is that you wait till after you give birth before applying. It would have been a different ball game if you had completed the examination before getting pregnant. Please note that I am not a guru but suggestions given are from my personal research. |
Talentboy:I stand to be corrected. Hepatitis is not included in the list of test conducted for the purpose of a study permit. I can remember vividly tests like HIV and syphilis as the one carried out. In rare cases when they notice a high blood pressure you can be asked to conduct a test on your liver (LFT) that is only when the issue might come up. I know someone who is in Canada as I speak to you who has hepatitis and still passed the test. Inasmuch as am not a guru I think hepatitis is not included. Muster up the courage and go for your test. |
Please I need help on behalf of a friend. She is scheduled to leave for Canada in few days. Her uncle in America purchased an Egyptair ticket for her through an agent using his credit card. I just saw online that egyptair requires that the owner of the card travels with you in person. Am confused. Does it apply to people who bought theirs through an agent? Kindly help. Thanks. |
ultimatebas:I am against Petrol calling you an idiot, we live in a world where people do not know the other people at the end of the keyboard. Sir, to start with, I think it is not worth it to call Ghana useless, you should have attacked the person ans not Ghana as a country. To the extend of calling Ghana poor lol. Perhaps you need to sit and make some comparative analysis. Ghana is a country that gained independence in 1957, yes am aware a lot of Ghanaians came to Nigeria to seek greener pastures. Don't also forget that some Ghanaians you insult today have tried bringing up your kids in schools in Nigeria. I am also aware that most schools in Nigeria have at least one Ghanaian there as a teacher. In this 21st century I can count alot of Nigerians who are living in Ghana trying to seek greener pastures. Even in the university we have 1001 Nigerian seeking better education here. So I therefore do not see why you should call such a country useless. Personally I have stayed in Imo, Lagos and Ogun state for over 20 years and irrespective of the bad name Nigerians have coined for themselves I don't seem it necessary generalizing it. Since you claim you are old enough to be his father i suggest that next time you weigh issues and not just insult people anyhow. I do hope that when next you visit Ghana you will make a good judgement. |
JummyFash:Before now, a medical request would have indicated an automatic approval. However, recently even those who got passport request are further scrutinized. That said, I think 60 -70% of the job is done. He has high chances of being approved. I suggest he intensifies his prayers. Am sure it will definately end in praise. Please note that am not a guru, my submission is based on what I have observed recently. |
guzenaira:[Sometimes it is unnecessary to make hasty generalizations. Please be informed that the embassy places calls to sponsors every now and then. I feel this is done when they need clarification on issues. This usually happens after they have spoken to the bank. It is not strange for a sponsor to end with "feel free to contact me if you need any further document". At this juncture, when a lot of applicants are waiting on a decision to be made on their application, the least we can do is brush issues aside, we should take every issue seriously and learn from it. It wouldn't cost us anything to give our sponsors a hint to expect a call at anytime. To your uncle, the fact he lied doesn't mean it doesn't occur. Thanks. |
OptimusPrime21:Seems you are always quick to refer people to ordering for notes. It doesn't matter how long one stays at background check..the most important thing is that we are still within the time frame. I have never seen where time frame is allocated to each stage of the application process. |
I have come to realize that what worked for someone may not work for you. What matters is the Visa Officer that handles our application. Above all we need to be extremely prayerful. Even if you haven't been praying before now is the time to start. Before my application, I hadn't been to church for ten years. But through this thread I learnt something very pivotal, YOU NEED THE GOD FACTOR. Don't ignore this.... I placed my hope in God and I can tell you it paid off .. I see some approvals coming in before 15th June.. if you believe it just receive it and give your testimony on the 15th June. |
THIS IS MY APPROVAL STORY. I applied to Brock University in Canada to study MA Critical Sociology. Fortunately, I received admission with funding of $23,000 covering my tuition. Before then let me state that I am 37years old and had over 10 years study gap. When I decided to apply I was scared, because I had not travelled before and there was no personal assets to declare. I decided to go for an upfront medical On the 1st of May I went for my medicals the first nurse noticed i had high blood pressure, I had to conduct more medical examinations. Finally on the 10th May I submitted my application. Here are the documents I submitted My degree certificate Proficiency certificate Attestation Transcript from uni Waec and testimonial Birth cert for my kids Sponsorship letter from my brother Statement of accounts Company registeration Letter from the school I am a research fellow Letter from my supervisor in Canada A one paged SOP Passports This is all I remember. Let me add that sometimes God works in mysterious ways. Here is my timeline again Upfront medical. 1st May Submission. 10th May Medical passed 17th May Eligibility and background checks started on the 17th May Biometric mail. 21st May Approval mail. 22nd May Resumption date. Sept 2019 One thing that helped me was that, during this period i decided to put all my trust in God and he never disappointed me. To those still waiting, pls be prayerful, sometimes it is more than what meets the eye. To those who have been refused, take your time and reapply and put God at the centre. We will get there. Anybody going to Brock here? |

Good morning folks. I need some clarification; 1. Is it possible for a VO officer to make a decision within two weeks? If yes in most cases what decision do they reach? Here is my timeline Upfront medicals. 1st May 2019 Paper submission. 10th May 2019 Linked application 15th May 2019 Background checks. 15th May 2019 Medical passed. 17th May 2019 Background and eligibility checks started on the same 15th of May 2019. Biometric mail. 21st May 2019. Does this mean a decision has been reached? If yes how soon can one get a response? Thanks. |
Qudkom:Thanks so much for your response. |
Good afternoon my fellow brothers and sisters. I applied via the paper route on the 10th of May, I linked my application online three days later. Just last week Friday(exactly a week after submission) I found out that my upfront medicals has been updated to passed. My worry is that it also shows that the eligibility checks has started alongside background checks. Let me also state that I applied with two other friends, we all got funding and we all have same updates. Is this updates normal? Is it following a particular pattern? I am worried and confused because none of us have received any mail from them. Kindly put me thru. Thanks. |
