Bro, the moment you realise that 85% of those quoting you are either teenagers, undergraduates or graduates who have never smelled the federal civil service, talk more of working there, you will rest my brother.

I am not going to work today. I will tag you in a thread I want to create to educate those ignorant ones

Stop quoting me to type nonsense. Now run along. You cannot be rude and expect a polite reponse. Now get off my mention.

you clearly cannot decipher between a federal parastatal and ministry. Your federal institute is a parastatal under a federal ministry. The person you quoted knows what he is saying.

ETX-NG is super fast, I must confess. I helped one of my friends process her transcript from uni.

At first, the uni wasn't registered on ETX-NG, I put the records guy through, he sent them a message on their website and the uni got registered the next day. Then he sent my friend's transcript last week Monday and the report came out same week Friday, just 4 days.

Most courier services would have just arrived by that time, so it's way better to use ETX-NG o.

Thanks to @Abuja2Canada for shedding more light
Unilag has deliberately refused to join ETX NG. Even the VC replied my mail stating they do not want to join ETX. He however promised to work on modalities that will enable them to send eTranscripts to WES in future.

Hi guys, I'm new here and I have a few questions please.

I've written my IELTS (wrote it on July 8 ) and my result is online, but for me to complete my application and enter the pool, I need my "test form reference number". This number is only available on the hard copy and British Council has not sent that to me.

Any idea on what I can do? I've called severally, emailed and even sent a message on twitter, but no response.

Please advice.

Also what are my chances of getting an ITA?

I'm 25 with a BSc, and my IELTS results are LRWS: 9,8.5,7,8.5

Thank you
congrats in advance

Thank you all for your supports here.
I was able to do my capturing today.
I did it all by myself and with the support I got here.
So, I applied online and made payment via netpost pay (26k) on the 10th. Interview was scheduled for today.
I got to Ikoyi office at 8:25am.
I was asked to go and file my documents at the business centre (be careful, those guys are rogues. They charged me 2k for just a file and 3 photocopied documents they gave me. I insisted I wasn't going to pay, but they later collected 1k).
As I entered the gate, I went straight to the court to notarize my guarantor's form (N500).
Then, I went to servicom (its by the right of the entrance gate) and got my documents filed again.

After filing my documents, I was told to waite for sms this week before I come for capturing.
I pleaded with the man and appealed to do it today with the excuse that I came from a far place.
That was how he took my file inside and the whole process started again.
Same man directed me to the next office to go, from there to another desk till it entered capturing office.
There were just 3 persons before me.
In all, I spent about 2hrs to get everything done.
I await the sms for collection.

Thank you all once again!
Well done bro. If we all follow due process, the era of illegalities may soon go away. I hope the passport will bring great opportunties for you. Cheers!

No. I don't think so. I'm not sure though but any expired official document should not be valid anywhere.

On the guarantor's form, is it must he/she fills the asset part?
Is it okay to leave it blank?
Dont leave it blank. If you do, you will still be asked to fill it. I went with mine blank and the officer who attended to me politely guided me on what needs to be filled.

I simply walked out, filled in the asset part myself (Cash = N162k, other assets = 1 car and shares certificates) and walked back in. smiley

The only part you can leave blank is the third part on the first page. Cheers!

Guys, guys, chill!!! grin

No one is encouraging intellectual laziness. The point being raised is that we should treat people the way we want to be treated...with respect.

We don't have to respond to every question to add value to the thread. Silence is actually a response, believe it or not. Referring people to page 1 is excellent....it's the sacarsm and barbs that aren't. I remember asking a question about jobs on the Living in Canada thread some months ago and not one soul responded...I took that as a response...maybe they didn't have the answer...maybe my question was stupid...it made me seek for answers by searching the thread thoroughly and other resources.

We would typically be careful about how we speak to our colleagues at work in Nigeria, even when we disagree with them....if we don't do this currently, it's a skill we'll need in Canada.

On days when I have nothing better to do, I look back to the first post of some who respond harshly and even they, in some instances asked questions that may have been considered silly 6 or 12 months prior (on particularly lazy days I even screen grab for kicks). grin

Let's just be kind to each other, the world is already such a harsh place especially Naija.

A wonderful weekend to all!
Wisdom personified!!!

It’s not just degrading, it defeats the purpose of this platform. If you cannot answer a question or feel it’s too stupid, just ignore. You don’t even know who is who on this thread or how a thoughtful your response might be helpful in future. People should learn to be polite and kind or just keep quiet if you cannot be that.
I respect you bro. You particularly have been very helpful. This thread as a whole has been very helpful. Let's be a bit patient with each other and "correct with love". I haven't congratulated you since your ITA. Congrats bro. May the rest of the process be seamless for you. Cheers.

Good morning everyone, Please i am about to start the process of obtaining my international passport in Lagos, Ogun, and its environs in Nigeria. I would like a step by step guide on the process. Is it safer to do it online or offline?
Sorry but which one is Lagos, Ogun and its environs? Decide on a passport office you want to use and start your application online. Just take note of previous comments on the last few pages cos some passport offices could be very corrupt. Based on my experience at the national headquarters, everyone was professional.

Standard e-passport (32pages and 5 years validity) is 25k. If you are paying cash at bank, there is an extra charge of 500 but if you are paying via debit card, there is an extra charge of 1k. After paying, print your Acknowledgement of receipt, updated biodata form, and your guarantor's form. You will need a photocopy of your guarantor's passport biodata page and NIN card/slip or driver's license (NIN card/slip preferably).

You will also attach photocopies of your NIN card/slip and birth certificate or declaration of age. Have your guarantor fill the 2 pages of the guarantor's form and write his/her full name (also sign) at the back of one of his/her photograph. Proceed to court and have your guarantor's form stamped.

Submit all these and if you are lucky, you can be captured same day especially if there are no much people waiting to be captured.

As soon as you are captured and you confirm all your details correctly, you will be given a collection slip stating the date of collection - usually doesnt exceed 2 weeks.

After collecting your passport, go to the activation desk and activate it. Cheers!

I'm currently at the NIS HQ, Sauka, Abuja. I must say the process here is pretty seamless. Got here around 11.40am. I forgot to stamp my guarantor's form before getting here. Luckily, there is a court within the premises and I was attended to in 3 minutes after paying N700.

I proceeded to the passport application processing office. You are requested to generate an electronic ticket yourself before stepping into the waiting room. Your ticket number will appear on an electronic board in front of the counter when it is your turn. There are about 12 or more counters and it took less than 8 minutes before I was attended to.

Altogether, I spent less than 30 minutes because there are not many applicants today.

I'm impressed with the process. I was told my PP will be ready on 22nd of July 2020. That's just 7 work days from today.

Better times are here.

PS: I didnt wait for my interview date which was slated for 22nd July 2022 anyway. I guess it was a system error. Just go with all the required documents and you will be attended to.
Sequel to my last post, I collected my international passport today. My passport was ready in 4 work days without paying extra 1 kobo to anyone.

Why not 22nd but 17th? Well, I got an SMS from NIS on Wednesday 15th July (two days after capturing) stating that the names on my birth certificate does not correspond with that on my application. Truly, my birth certificate has a name which I dont use anymore but I submitted a court affidavit for change of name along with my application. I do not know why they overlooked the affidavit. I went there yesterday to explain myself and after much argument whether to get NPC declaration of age or not, a lady there (so polite, attentive and sweet) took interest in my case and offered to help. She promised to call me if I would eventually need NPC DoA and that I should just scan and send via email if need be. However, upon getting home, I received a call from her telling me my passport has being printed and asked me to come collect it today -three day earlier than the initial date. shocked

I'm really thankful to God and those professional officers at the HQ for the seamless process.
