okpara ugo: I dont read fiction. I read strategies to making money.

Novel : BIBLE. Author : JEHOVA omere many things.

man mi, u must by now be very rich, but u a missing out of some things. Even the bible said 'give to Ceaser' 'man is not made for bread alone'. Do u know how many money making strategic books the likes of Dangote, Otedola, Otunba Subomi, Bill Gate read to become who they are today. Bro, wake up because u a missing out of something quite important. FUN.

Larry-Sun:

I've got all Dan Brown's books but only five books of Sheldon's. We need to put all our decisions and thoughts in one, peeps.

Mr. captain sir, please pick a book out of the suggested lot. We are all rearing to go. Engage the gear. The earlier the better.

i dont have links to download the ebook of my best, but i go ahead and name my favourites.
The broker, chamber, and the appeal all by john grisham. Then
the Lincoln lawyer by micheal connelly.

it is obvious that u a Grisham person. Or u are a lawyer, but there are other books that will blow ur mind. I suggest u read QBIIV by Leon Uris.

megareal: I doubt I can lay a hand on any Dan Brown's book at the moment. Read Da Vinci Code but twas borrowed. Let's read something by Ludlum, Grisham or Sheldon.

i would like to go with this suggestion. The more time we spend ,aking suggestions the more time wasted. I suggest the captain make a move and choose a book. If u a lucky to have read it, fine. If not, it would be an opportunity for whoever to get updated. He had said Dan Brown, Davinci Code. Good book, only for mature readers. Lets get started.

Culture / The Origin Of The Adamu Orisha. by opo22: 8:42pm On Jan 12, 2013
The Eyo Festival has become the cultural identity of the Lagosians in the south western region of Nigeria. Thank God for democrac, the Eyo followers had enjoyed more festivities. During one of such festivities the festival publicists came on radio (Lagos FM), to invite and promote the festival. One caller onto the program mentioned that the Eyo Festival actually migrated to Lagos and that the original owners of the festival are the Iperu people of Ogun States. The moderator asked the Eyo people to comment and they said they were not sent to make such comments. I remembered in those days of our youth in Lagos, one of the questions to determine a true born eyo masqurade was which day did you come from Iperu. The answer is i came yesterday and in a vehicle of groundnut shell. Now where did the Eyo come from or what is the origin of the only festival of the Eko people.

uceee: Did James Hardley Chase write the Nick Carter series too? I haven't been able to find another of it since around 2005.

The NC series are not popular in those days, the few of us who bought and read a few considered the books as unserious, unrealistic and too violent, we moved to chase and we got a better bargain. NC's lead actor never never do anything wrong, he is always the best in everything. He was fashioned in the moldova of Sean Connery of the James Bond 007. This is the little i could remember about the books. You may never find any more copies to read.

Hi pple, while we're still undecided as to the book we should pick, I humbly suggest a somewhat radical amendment of the subject matter in question.
Rather than discuss a known book, why don't we encourage interested and aspiring authors amongst us to submit short story of theirs each week.
That way they'll be encouraged to develop their crafts, we'll discover fresh and budding talents and we'll all have a chance of appraising their respective works with a view to making them better writers.
We have a lot of talented authors in Nigeria going to waste either because they lack guidiance or possess no fora such as these for tips to hone their craft, (we all know Nigeria's programmed to frustrate ur efforts by default) so let's encourage home fiction.
The 2 major publishing houses in Nigeria are Cassava Republic & Kachifo-Farafina and getting them to publish one's books aint easy either because of their high standards or sheer pride.
If you guys feel that this suggestion should be started on a new thread entirely pls feel free to suggest same.
Peace to Earth

Need u say more. I humbly suggest we start with a known widely read bestseller because we may also need to hone our skills as critics too. It will be a crime to murder an upcoming writer with our ignorance. So let my suggestion stand. We a delaying too much.

lil jboy: these are authors right? Gimmie there novel titles. Hv read wationgo's WEEP NOT CHILD... Pretty 9c

Each of those authors, some had written more than dozen books. Depending on ur taste, if u like romantic thrillers with serious epsonage i seriouslypp recommend Robert Ludlum, The Matarase Circle, Bourne Identity. Historical fictio, read Exodus, Milan 18 or QB IIV by Leon Uris, extensive romances, intrigue, suspense, i recommend Lonely Lady by Siney Sheldon, The Plot, The Word, The Fan Club, The Seven Siren all by Irvin Wallace. The Firm, The Last Jury by John Grisham.

I am diappointed that till now we a yet to pick a book. Anyway am suggesting Bourne Identity by Robert Ludlum, for its suspence. (if u av to go to work the next day, dont start) this was how this book was described. So lets start interestingly. Am also suggesting 10th of January. If we prepare eba for 10 years, when a we going to eat it.

i can say i had read over 80 percent of JHS books, but the interestng thing about chase was that i outgrown his books. There is one of the books that we had to do a conference reading of it, 4 of us all night. In those days we blow guy with books unlike today where boys think only of violence. Has anyone read THE FAST BUCK by JHS. If u a looking 4 suspence read more books, Ludlum, H.Robins, I. wallace, S.sheldon, J. susan, L.Uris, J.Collins, C.Achebe, U. wationgo. w. Shoyinka. Of allmy all time best is THE BOURNE Identity.
