The plots of land my family acquired in Lagos way back in the mid 70s was not given to us for FREE, we paid for the 99 years lease and the family that leased to us, did put pressure on my family to encourage other igbos who were then reluctant, to also get some plots.......we have been paying the associated rates and taxes since then to the government.
