kenedy175:The idea of replacing the complete set is either to avoid the issue of programming or if the diagnosis was not able to isolate what part is faulty. From the codes you posted, most likely the VTD (vehicle theft deterrent) module is the problem or in some cases the ECM. If you are unable to get the complete set, then source for the VTD or ECU, with a guarantee and have it programmed. (Cadillac key programming for many models can be done without a machine, so I find it hard to believe that there's no technician in Umuahia and environs as far as PH to program it, otherwise get in touch with Mayor2013) Mgbuka Obosi is the used spare parts market in Onitsha, Anambra state. |
If you can get the complete working unit of Immobilizer, key and ECU, from another vehicle of same specification with yours, it doesn't require any other programming to start your vehicle after installation. But if any component is missing from the complete set, then you will require programming to match them before your vehicle will start. I strongly believe you can get the complete set in Umuahia, otherwise try Mgbuka Obosi and as a last resort Lagos. |
In Nnewi I see a lot of people riding "ladies motorcycle", yet they live in big apartments. That leaves me to wonder "why do they do that?' Can it be attributed to high self esteem? Just curious. It's a matter of CHOICE. But if you Really want to know the reasons behind the choice, then the onus lies on you to meet the people involved and get first hand info. Except those on nairaland who fit your description and willingly reply you, your curiosity may not be satisfied. |
Where is your location? |
Am really surprised that Owerri people believed this scammer. He tried this trick in Ihiala in 2014 and was practically chased away. The continued patronage of this man shows how ultra-gullible our people are. Seriously smh. |

@ Ojeshola, if your "catalyst" has been removed, then your problem is most likely a failing fuel pump. |

Boss, as usual, you keep setting the standard for what it means to be a Boss, especially on this forum. So shall your blessings continue to abound. If available, your boy will appreciate front wheel hub and A/C compressor for 2005 Honda Civic. Thanks |
Which car exactly or option of cars, do you want to drive? |
As it is, with the right tool, its easier to steal a car with smart key than the one with your regular transponder key. |
Good day. |

Hope the seller is not telling you that the exact model picture you gave us is a 2007, cos that's a lie. You can confirm the model year from the VIN / chassis number. The popularity of Sienna amongst transporters attest to the fact that it's suitable for your purpose. If you finally get it, ensure that you do the maintenance as expected using the recommended fluids/parts. The commonest issue I have observed in it is the Automatic Transmission and drive shafts and most times it is the latter leading to the former when handled by an ignorant mechanic. |
@OP, most likely your timing is out of spec. You may come for a free Diagnosis, but Please give me a 12-24 hour notice. Thanks |
@ OP, When did this problem start, was any work done on the vehicle just before that? Take the vehicle to a technician who understands the use of a professional scanner for appropriate Diagnosis. |
GAZZUZZ:And that is what matters at the end of the day. Well done sir. |
@ Paul alias Elshanautos ETC, It's really disheartening that you descended so low to express your grievance against Gazzuzz and you unashamedly call it revenge. Unto what? This is a classic sissy move if you ask me. Wish we were born in a different age and clime, I would have called you out for a proper duel, but alas... At the end of this, you would have succeeded in excavating whatever is left of you as far as this forum and beyond is concerned. |

@Captainking, I got home (then Ihiala) 3:35 am cos I had to be in the office by morning.. FYI night driving is coolest with a healthy car if not for bad roads and robbers. |
@OP, has your issue been resolved? Did you check your ATF level, is there any leak? You are likely low on ATF or have a blocked strainer (gear filter). A failed pump won't even engage the reverse gear. It could also be the valve body a.k.a gear brain box (a common problem with 722.6 transmission). ETC Most importantly Scan the vehicle with a professional scanner and post the codes for a better analysis. |
@OP, In cases like this, most likely the fan relay has developed a mind of its own (especially if the factory connection has been tampered with) else the fan module. |
I once went to Lagos to buy a Naija used car, met the seller around 6pm, inspected the car and paid on the spot, then filled the tank and drove down to Anambra state that night. I have used the same car for four years though I changed the engine due to oil consumption two years+ later. Besides regular maintenance, I have no complaints. (Am finally putting it up for sale simply to upgrade) There are some naija used cars better than tokunbo e.g Gazzuzz's Honda accord and other cars. If due diligence is applied when buying naija used car, the only issues you will face is aging parts, you(the driver) or your village people. |
