Based on my own experience, I will say that your case is not peculiar to Honda Pilot, rather a common issue with similar shaped V6 engines. This is due to the fact that the location of knock sensors on those engines constitutes a comfortable apartment for rodents. Find a way to keep them away from your vehicle as they will likely chew up other harnesses. |
Naturelle05:2004/5 model civic is cheaper to maintain than the 2006-8 model. But generally both models are low budget maintenance cars if bought in good condition.
|
@ obekediamondfuto, baba I no dey sell engine, but budget about 300k for a complete 2AZ-FE engine. |
Budget between 10-15k for the regular chinko after market remote. But then wouldn't it be better for you to resolve your door issues first? |
@OP, in response to your question, Yes, a bad/blocked catalytic converter will reduce mpg, slow down the movement of your vehicle amongst other issues. While it is recommended to replace it, you really have to open your eyes when getting a tokunbo catalyst as there are many "cloned" catalyst in the market. Your reported mpg is not unusual for the vehicle in question though it depends on how you drive etc. |
Rescan the car once again but this time let them check the live data for the crankshaft sensor (starting sensor) signal. If absent, check the wiring and or replace the sensor exactly as it is. If present, most likely the timing was not set properly. But if you have finally decided to change your engine because of this, then change your mechanic first. |
Fear Nissan, fear P1130! I believe we are all here to learn. I have had the same model of car with same problem come to my workshop for diagnosis and the issue was resolved by a colleague for 30k. The best info I could get from him was that it was vacuum related. Talk about trade secrets. Replacing the engine MAY solve the problem, but the problem is not with the engine, that I can assure you. Solving P1130 on its own will be way cheaper. |
A failure has no other reason for failing consistently than being a failure. |
I studied Geology, worked seven years in the banking sector and currently my own boss in Automobile Diagnosis and Repairs. I believe that University Education is basically to equip one with the fundamentals of sustenance. |
No. Honda Civic 2002 doesn't have the ball joints issue. |
If sex can have negative consequences on a vehicle, then it has to be an illicit sex. Those who had the experience can confirm. |
OK |
Lol! Well done sir. |
False Alarm!!! This is a confirmation of the fact that lots of information peddled online are not the way they are in reality. At the moment, there is NO recent crisis between Aguleri and Umuleri . @ OP please get your facts properly before rushing to open a thread on a matter that is none of your business. From an informed, concerned and closely domiciled indigene of the subject area. Thanks |
1996 Toyota Camry is OBD 2 compliant if that's what you are asking for.

12.5 kg gas is #5,500 in my area against #4,500 in the list. |
Somebody returned from a journey and a set of people resumed their activities. OK OOOOOO. |
The sensor is shown here
|
The picture of the engine bay is showing us a 3MZ V6 Engine, but you are saying it's a 4cyl. ![]() |
Yes I do. |
mployer:This was what everyone was saying when Golf 4 first came in to Nigeria but now, it's everywhere. |
Without some form of restitution to your aggrieved customers, your request for forgiveness now is at best a Prank. |
This is just CRAZY! A 2015 corolla was #7.Xm exactly a year ago. Hmmmm, more firms will resort to buying tokunbo cars and possibly naija used. Anyways we can only work harder and pray for increased profitability. |
I am obliged to comment on this post for two reasons: 1- I was once close to buying a vehicle from cityhood. 2- The "Highlander" has been to my workshop for assessment as the OP was referred to me by GAZZUZZ. The Op obviously has learnt his lesson and is making his experience public for others to learn. The vehicle in question came with a non-highlander (2MZ-FE) engine amidst so many other issues as stated by the op and will cost a fortune for proper restoration. I wish the mechanic that delivered the vehicle was here to tell us how the journey was. Subscribing to a Pre-Purchase Inspection is highly recommended for a used car purchase and also the integrity of a dealer especially on a forum like this is necessary for continued patronage. @Cityhood, find a way to resolve your issue with the young man amicably. |
@RGM 123, stating your location will enable you get a more favorable response. |
Good to see this thread back again. Abeg keep it up, though I understand shaa. |
@Gazzuzz, thanks for the recommendation. @valarinz, am proud and privileged to have trained under Gazzuzz. No matter how corrupt the tech field is, there are still 1-5percent of us that don't flow with the tide. |
Usually, kazeem's refer to the crank shaft position sensor as the "starting sensor". |
OP, you should take your vehicle to a standard workshop and have it scanned and properly diagnosed. Various issues can cause a blinking D light and Your changing the ATF to Mobil 220 will only result to bigger problems in future. |
Hmmmm, he should have gone to the US to make the prophesy,,it's of no spiritual benefit to Nigerians except to promote his prophetical skills. |
