Nairaland General"ale Ariwo" Yoruba Movie With Funsho Adeolu And Lola Alao by Orilee9ice(op): 3:20pm On Dec 30, 2009
Ale Ariwo is a fairly strong production from Wemimo Olu Paul's studio. The characters are not overly exaggerated, and the acting is fairly subdued. I know its a bit old now   coolbut i was watching it the other day and was really moved  by the story, i  really liked the end bit  , the Thanksgiving bit, i must have re-wound that bit 100 times just to dance over and over again, i found myself actually rejoicing with them after what they both went thro, IJO AJOWOLE,  YAHOOZZE L'OMO MEN! i have seen that their daughter in a recent movie by Wemimo (the one with Femi Branch doing "bobo nice" and landing himself into trobule) and she has grown into a fine girl now oh!

My peeps, what do you think of the movie, (The Story oh!, not the characters or the players) although Buky Wright really gave Funsho a tough time!, if you want to learn some yoruba insults to use to your advantage, i recommend that movie as reference, Hands DOWN!, , Hummm, and that BABA WANDEEEEEE!!!

C'mon guys lets go down memory lane and remember events of our growing up at home, at school. (pry and secondary) up 2 Uni, i dunno about u but i lived in an exclusive area of Lagos then (humm, you need to see all the houses there now, they are all commercial, converted to Eatries, Fashion shops, etc) with the usual Mind Your Own Bizness, wasnt allowed to step outta the huge gate we had, so it looked like we were behind a prison gate, the only time we saw anyone was when the driver horned to open the gate cos "popsie " was back from work, or when we actually went out in the car as a family to church on Sunday , WE WERE DROPPED AT SCHOOL AND PICKED UP IN THE AFTERNOON, BUS KEE! KA MAA RII!!, (rememeber the era of all the Ghanians coming to Lagos (GHANA- MUST- GO), We had 2 Drivers, House helps, Gardener, Wash-man and even Lesson Teacher sef!- all living in our boy's quarters) the occasional walking up and down our street was a luxury and we had to dress up to do that too cos u didnt know who might see you, and you had to represent (that  u only did your shopping for all your "wears" and "tings" during your summer holidays in London or America, you know what i mean now! on Popsie's account!), it was proper AJEBOTA behaviour until i got to Secondary school, not to talk of Uni (UNILAG) and NYSC (ABUJA), which was another matter,   so, whats your story??
EntertainmentRe: Old School Music Vs New Skool Music In Naija, Which Is Better? by Orilee9ice(m): 1:21pm On Dec 22, 2009
The creator of this tread, thank you jare, i am a fan of Old sckool music way back (70's and 80's music.) it had meaning , the beats were also dance-able, and we still rememeber it today, go to any party and play old school music like Shalamar, Whispers. Kool and the Gang etc and see if the floor will not be filled in 2 seconds flat, with everyone singing along as if it was only released yesterday wink, not like the ORI E FONKA SIBE that we hear today, The Bible says "Confess with your mouth what is pure" if you keep singing Ori e fonka sibe all the time, it might just happen, i dont pray it does, but if it does, you have called it upon your self in jest

Gimme Old School Music any day Man! (Oh gimme, Yeah Gimme, Oh Gimme what you cant get back, Oh Gimme, C'MON and gimme Girl, Gimme what you cant get back, ) I-LEVEL 1980

, i am going back SU days now,

I love that Man of Galilee (of Galilee)
For he has done so very much 4 me (very much 4 me)
He has 4given me all my sins. And sent the Holy Ghost 2 ME
I love that Man (Love that Man) of Galilee (Of Galilee),

1, You ask me why I’m happy, so I’ll just tell you why
Because…, my sins are gone (my sins are gone)
And when I meet the scoffers, who ask me where they are
Ill say….(I’ll say) my sins are gone

But where are they?

They are underneath the blood, of the cross at calvary
As far removed, the darkness is from Dawn,
In the sea of God’s 4getfullness, is good enough 4 me
Praise God! My sins are gone (my sins are gone)

2, T’was on the old time alter
When God came in my heart, and now, my sins are gone
And when I meet the scoffers, who ask me where they are
Ill say….(I’ll say) my sins are gone

But where are they?

They are underneath the blood, of the cross at calvary
As far removed, the darkness is from Dawn,
In the sea of God’s 4getfullness, is good enough 4 me
Praise God! My sins are gone (my sins are gone)

Stand up and tell me if you love my Jesus
Stand up and tell me if you love my God
I want to know oh, I want to know, if you love my God!

Another song

I have a coat,(yes), You have a coat (yes)
Every-body has a coat,
When you go to heaven, put on your coat,
And dance to your very very best,
And dance, dance to your best, and dance, dance to your best,
When you go to heaven, put on your coat,
And dance to your very very best,

This world is not my home
I'm just passing thro'
The heavens are laid up, somewhere beyond the blues
The Angels beckons me
Beyond heaven's doors
And i cant feel at home in this world anymore,

Our God is a Con-sum-ing fire,

Praise daa Lord  oh sing oh sing oh, Praise da Lord!
oh sing oh, oh sing oh, oh sing oh, oh sing oh,
Power, Power, Beyond the Stars, has set me free,

Amen HALLELUYAH, Amen Halleluyah, AMEN!

When i remember his promise
I shout HALELUYAH (When i rememeber his promise, i shout halleluyah)
I shout halleluyah, i shout halleluyah,
When i rememeber his promise, i shout halleluyah

I am a child of God (Halleluyah)
I am a child of God,
He washed my sins in the blood of Jesus
I am a child of God!
