So sorry to hear about this; it can be really disheartening. I can advise you to explore other options (Canada express entry, Australia, or even UK; depending on your field of study/work). Cheer up, great news awaits you. Simplicitymac: 1 Like |

What I have heard is that you can still get the 3 years PGWP if you don’t apply for a PGWP after the one year programme. Meaning you can only get the PGWP once. So you need to ensure you get an admission offer before your study permit/visa expires; if you want to remain in Canada legally. Then you can go for the masters program and after then you can apply for the PGWP, which will award you 3 years work permit. You should however wait to get responses from more knowledgeable people about this. Good luck. IboBoyNuel: 1 Like |

If you have already gone through the biometrics and medical stage, then this is good news. You will likely get the visa. However, it came to my notice that CIC still does another vetting before making a final decision. In my case, it took about 15 days after submitting my passport before CIC finally sent me a final decision mail, which stated that a counterfoil had been attached to my passport. I hope this was helpful? sotonte18: |

I would say that it is subjective. It really depends on what one wants to use such qualification for. If you really meant ‘which of them is higher in rank’, then I believe it is masters. Olayinkaji: |

Send a copy to my email: lordklynton@yahoo.com. I will help go through and revert. Also, I will ask some questions of you, which would help me in giving a proper feedback on your SOP. MouthOdor: |

I’m sorry but I strongly disagree with this. Not only is my school not on this list, but this claim is counter-intuitive. If a school which one applied to finds one worthy of being granted admission, I see no reason why a VO will begin to look at your previous educational institution as a criteria for approval or refusal of study permit. I can understand if they are checking the authenticity of documents submitted, but not which school you attended. A better reason for the high number of application refused may be the quota system, which some people mentioned earlier. Linzo: |

I have a friend who was offered admission to Conestoga for May 2020 session, but she is worried the offer letter isn't legit, as she got it about 3 days after applying. Based on this reply here, is she meant to send official copies to Conestoga? She only used the scanned copies in her online application, but they didn’t request for it. Thanks Frankrobbn1: |

LOL. Haba. I know she said to critique her mail, but this was a bit harsh, but funny nonetheless. Like you suggested, I think she should go through the professor's research and develop an interest for one of the key areas she (the prof) is currently working on. Also, just a little addition, try and proofread for minor errors such as 'labarotory' spelling. And this may just be me: try capitalising the first letter of the major words in the email subject next time. E.g 'Student Interested in Joining Protein-folding Laboratory'. I hope this was helpful? cc @rieme26 RealTrump: |

From my experience, it varies. I submitted my passport on the 4th of November 2019, and I asked the guy who collected my passport how long it could take and he said average of 15 days. I researched and found that some people get theirs as early as 3 business days. I am yet to get a mail from vfs that my passport is ready for pick up; although, I suspect that will come today. I've been having issues with tracking my passport using the tracking ID provided and have had to depend on the email notifications vfs sends. The last one said my passport "is under process at the IRCC Office". However, I got an update on my CIC profile that a final decision has been made and a counterfoil has been attached to my passport. How long has it been since you submitted your passport? (I am assuming you went through the online route for your visa application). Ubah007: |

I feel that, if you are able to explain your previous academic and career path, and how studying business management will contribute to your development for a certain role or help you contribute to your home country, you should be fine. Bear in mind that, there are other criteria the Visa Office (VO) will evaluate before reaching the conclusion that one should be granted a permit to study. Also, add prayer and I believe all will be well. I wish you the very best. IboBoyNuel: 1 Like |

Please I have a question regarding passport drop and pickup. Did you pay any additional fee when dropping your passport at the visa office in Lagos, which I assume was also where you had your biometrics. I’m having a bit of an issue understanding all the information posted on vfs website, regarding passport drop and pick up. Thanks. Bimmy35: 1 Like |

I imagine this will vary from school to school, however, I’d recommend you either check the school’s website or contact them for info on refund duration. Freshprince777: |

From my experience, what you will need is a detailed sponsorship letter explaining your relationship with your sponsor (your supervisor) and why they are sponsoring you. Also, you will need their statement of account, their proof of employment or ownership of a business etc. and finally a copy of their passport bio data page. I hope this helps. I think this is possible, since both applicants will likely be applying separately. However, you need to show your relationship with such person and why they are sponsoring you; of course they will have to give proof of their financial capability (statement of account, company documents or proof of employment and all). chucs: 2 Likes |

Home ties was basically the family farm business, as I said I would be more than happy to return at the end of my study to Nigeria, so I can apply the practical knowledge I would have gained to the farm business. Also, I mentioned in the concluding aspect of my SOP, that my parents will be retiring from the business in a couple of years, and will be handing over the operations to me. Finally, I had to spell it out to the visa officer (also in the conclusion), that I have no intentions of over staying my validity period in Canada, similar to my time studying in the UK(which of course is very true; I can not goan hang in another man's country ). I hope this was helpful. Sophiesteve: |

Yes, under the optional document slot was where I put the additional documents. However, for proof of funds, I put sponsor's statement of account, sponsorship letter, sponsor's passport bio-data page, company documents and landed properties in the slot provided for PROOF OF FUNDS. I hope this helps. MUN19: 1 Like |

I think the first and best thing to do is contact your school and explain things, then also ask them if you can still pay tuition now and if they will still give you a chance for Winter 2020 resumption, if they say it is late for that, ask them if they can consider you for the next resumption maybe fall 2020. From what you posted, it seems you already paid a fee to secure your seat; the $1500. It is important they give you another chance, else it may affect your getting a visa (not permit) to study (if there isn’t any school you will be going to). What I mean is, the screening at ‘port of entry’; they will likely ask for proof that you’ve paid tuition for the term you are resuming for. This is what I think, however, you should wait for responses from the gurus here. Obehi44: 1 Like |
