Sorry, i hope you forgive me. It pains me when people just throw out strong assertion or statistics without fact to back it, and the way most Nigerian younger generation take side with politicians. i won`t take offense for calling me a fool because i know i am not. peace

You be olodo, how oil take contribute 93% of GDP. For your information, oil sector contribute less than 15% to Nigeria GDP, though it account for over 70& of government revenue, and over 80% of total export. even agricultural sector contributes more to GDP than oil. next time take your time to know meaning of GDP, Export earnings, and Government revenue, They are all different variables.

Oil is about 93% of our GDP, NDexit will more than ground the economy temporarily...Nigerian govt needs to work against its emergence

Why lumping south east and ND. Let`s have federalism based on current 6 geopolitical structure if your people no go cry like baby. most of you fail to realise that net contribution of south east to national wealth is negative, and that`s why i laugh when i see ignorants shouting on Nairaland.
You should also ask these questions:
why was it that your representatives to last national conference held in abuja in 2014 fail to support rgionalism and resource control as was pushed forth by SW and SS Delegates. It`s because they know you guys have nothing to live on.NIA
Intellect20:
First of all, I happy that Ondo and Lagos have oil. Now, The Best Way To know If SW Has More Oil Than SE Is To Do These:

1. Under the current government structure, Absolute resource control...every region should manage its resources and simply pay tax to the center. Meaning, SE, SW, NW, NE, NC,SS, all individually must manage its resources without Federal interference

2. Alternatively, separate this country into Oodu, Biaffra and Arewa. For Biafrra, SE and ND will individually manage their resources and pay tax to the center...Biaffra. Why I'm suggesting this: I want to shock ND that SE has as much oil as they do. I have evidence that SE has as much oil if not more from people in the industry. The federal government has been lying to us for decades that most of the oil produced in this country is from ND...yet they siphon oil and gas using pipelines and trucks at night from SE into SS...to make it seem like the oil is from SS, which helps to continue the divide and rule tactics. The so called oil in Rivers state, 90% of it is concentrated in Igbo speaking areas; areas stolen from old Imo state; which includes present day Abia and part of Rivers.

PoliticsRe: OPC, Ijaw Leader Meet To Avoid Avengers Threat To Lagos by orlaryemy: 8:10am On May 11, 2016
There is this thing about Ijaw people, They are very smart and mature in the way they handle their things. Some foolish people would call them cowards, but they are far from it. It`s mature and people with war experience that would understand what these two groups just did to forestall likely bloodbath. Ijaw people are really warriors, sensible one for that matter that know when to fight and when to dialogue unlike our other friends who fight before thinking.

CultureRe: "Ooni Of Ife Is Oba Of Benin's Son,Not In The Same Class"-Bini Palace To Alake by orlaryemy: 10:16am On Feb 09, 2016
Yoruba never believe Oduduwa descended from heaven, stop mistaken Oduduwa for Orunmila who descended from heaven.
emmanuelpopson:
What we know is that the Yoruba
language seperated lingustically about
5000 years ago from the wider span of
its language family and it seperated
about 2000 years ago from Igala.
The Yoruba have a sphere that
encompasses no less than 5 West African
States.
Furthermore; all archaelogical artifacts in
Yoruba Land date to FAR before any
dates that have been acquired in Benin.
The Benin People have always claimed a
descent from Ife via Oranmiyan.
Benin Kings were buried in Ife up till the
late 19th and early 20th century.
Up till the same period, the consent of
the Ooni was required for the crowning
of any Benin monarch.
Furthermore; the science shows that EDO
is part of the wider Yoruba Linguistic
The Ife Terracottas date to the 12th
century - but the first Benin Kingdom
which amalgamated all the Chiefdoms
dates to the 13th.
Previous to the Eriaduwa II; the
conservative idea about Benin origins is
that when the Chiefdoms decide to unify;
Oranmiyan was LOANED to them and
that he produced the dynasty of Eweka.
Oyo settlements are dated to about 1000
AD etc.
There is no need for these relatively
minor problems.
As far as I am concerned, the Edo are
today, distinct from the Yorubas,
regardless of whether they dynasties
originated from Ife or NOT.
It is also not prudent to speak of
Origins in such an absolute sense; as
the earliest Human fossiles of Homo sp
in West Africa were found near Akure,
dating about 10000 years back - we
might thus ask; the settlements in Benin
which Oranmiyan unified; what are there
origins? This is a mystery.
What we can say for sure is this:
1. The Yorubas HAVE Never at any point
in time claimed to be descended from
Benin.
2. The Benin up till the recent have
always claimed a Dynastic descent from
Ife.
The rest is mere speculation.
There are very few good books on
Yoruba History out there.
I have an advice for you - BEWARE OF
BOOKS WRITTEN BY PEOPLE WITH
ENGLISH NAMES REGARDLESS OF
WHETHER THEY ARE EUROPEAN OR
NOT; ESPECIALLY IF THE BOOK WAS
WRITTEN PRIOR TO INDEPENDENCE.
Many theories that have been cooked up
about Yoruba origins include Illustrous
Parentage Theories which attempt to link
the Yoruba to Egypt, or to the Etruscans
or to Atlantis.
The best resolution; as already put forth
by the Ooni is to go with the standard
mythological account pending a scientific
resolution.
This method is common all over the
world. In fact, most cultures claim that
they were the FIRST People on the earth!
The Yorubas believe that Oduduwa was
lowered from Heaven and he founded
the Earth. Period.
It is also worthy to note that all over the
world; the Ooni is acknowledged as the
de facto spiritual head of the Yoruba. In
Cuba, in Brazil, etc - testaments to the
resilience of Yoruba culture; the Ooni
and the place and position of Ife are still
revered.
CultureRe: "Ooni Of Ife Is Oba Of Benin's Son,Not In The Same Class"-Bini Palace To Alake by orlaryemy: 9:17am On Feb 09, 2016
Common sense should be a judge here; How can Oduduwa that arived in Ile-ife in 8th century be same as the prince that left in Bini in 12th century.

For those who are claiming that Oduduwa fell from the skye, it is far from truth, the only person yoruba believed to have descended from heaven directly was Orunmila, if you care to know more about him you could do some research. That chief in Benin doesn`t what he is saying.

PoliticsRe: Abimbola Izu - The Tyrant Has Resurfaced!!! by orlaryemy: 4:54pm On Sep 12, 2014
see this person in question graduated from OAU, she is very smart and knows her job well. Everything she has in that bank is on merit, the OP is a loser. i know the family wella in Ilorin
blank: I know she works in Skye bank.

I am just wondering of what benefit her removal will do to you?

It's the usual, if a woman is making it, she must be sleeping her way to the top.

Not that i am saying she is guilty or not of embezzling funds, its the annoying part of sleeping with a board member that rankles.
PoliticsRe: Abimbola Izu - The Tyrant Has Resurfaced!!! by orlaryemy: 4:45pm On Sep 12, 2014
concernedperson: I cannot understand why this particular bank cannot appoint well meaning professionals - sound in judgement and fair in justice (who are serious about the job and not petty) in sensitive executive positions. It seems to me that this bank is overtaken by politics at its highest order!!!!!!!!!

90% of seniors in this bank are perceived to be tyrants and this is the sole administrative and leadership style depicted and being passed on to upcoming leaders under the executives!!! It is quite worrisome... There are the likes of Markie Snomi now Markie Idowu, Nkoli Okoli, Arinola Kola-Daisi aka AKD (who thinks that her sister who is a minister in the FGN is the owner of the bank), Funmi Adegoke (Arionla's besto), Emem Udosen now Emem Ekong and so on as tyrants at various levels occupying various positions and creating territories... It is quite pathetic and highly regrettable.

These guys don't like the thought of junior staff achieving, aspiring or being proactive... They feel you want to take their shine!!! At what levelhuh How can a GM or DGM be concerned about an AM or an even more junior staff to want to deal with them and crush themhuh I wonder who they think will take over the bank from them or do they think they will be there foreverhuh

Abimbola Izu, a general manager and Company Secretary has had some terrible stories surrounding her from backbiting to win cheap points with board members, to serious diabolical involvements, to dating to gain power and influence... I really do wonder why these sorts of issues are prevalent in this institution. There is this rumour that she had had an affair with one of the prominent board members at one point. She is married to a naval officer with 2 or 3 children...

It really does make me wonder if the bank has the desire to really grow and achieve greatness; cause with this sort of people in positions of power, the future growth of the organisation seems bleak...

It is rather perplexing that with the recent change of guard in the bank at the helm of affairs, she is back in a position of power. She rubs the fact that she has a relationship with a key board member of the bank in the faces of peers, juniors and seniors to intimidate them. She is highly cunning and pretentious. Always having a response to everything with a spiteful smile. That woman can never be trusted cause all she is after is her own interest and she will work with whoever possible to achieve her deep desires... It is always her, herself and her that she is ever thinking about... not the bank or anyone else...

During the time of the first MD of the bank, she began to build these horrific ties; pretending to be working for a key member of the board who was then a director on the board while her allegiance was to the MD; cause she saw the opportunity to make good money while in office. She fought for the Corporate Affairs department to be under her purview. There she made a kill! Allocating some sumptuous amount of money to herself from the Corporate gift budget for the procurement of corporate end of year souvenirs aside the contracts she would have given to her sister-in-law to supply on her behalf. She also had an advertising agency she was promoting and giving jobs to... She then fought for the legal department to remain under her during the time of the second MD. As the first MD was leaving, she was moving from a rented apartment in Yaba to her own house in Dolphin estate Ikoyi.

Now she has been placed in charge of 4 or more key areas of the bank - giving her ultimate power and room to make the most money possible!!! With departments like General Services, Corporate affairs, Legal, Company Secretariat, etc, placed under her watch she is bound to terrify staff members with her power. Staff in the bank are already saying she is a tyrant... Off course why wouldn't she be!!! Having all that portfolio with the eye service she is playing with the MD and the deception at board level, she is bound to have a filled day... Though petitions had been written against her when she oversaw Corporate Affairs in the past, the new administration has still handed that department back to her again!!! It is being purported that she would be made an Executive Director soon despite all the allegations levied against her. I guess she must have used her diabolical and manipulative ways to gain back the portfolio. Her jazzman must really be working!!! I guess na elbow her jazzman dey take stand...!!! But God Almighty pass them...!!!

However, after saying all of these, I know as the saying goes, every day for the thief, one day for the owner of the house... One day monkey go go market e no go come back again... God no dey sleep o!!!

Let's see how far she will go with all her wicked mischief... She and all the other tyrants earlier mentioned...
At the bolded, i know this person one on one she can never do it. please stop lies just because you want to paint her bad. Your reputation will also be distroyed as you are trying hard to distroy your fellow human being.

yungboss: nice topic, hope you wouldn't mind my narration:
chasing a 2002 toyota avalon and a nissan maxima 2.5 whose egotistic drivers earlier on, thought blaring their horns behind me in an irritating manner on a bad ph/warri road would make me a pushover in my very sound '95 bmw 320i the avalon took me out from almost zero... on hitting a good stretch of the road. chased him ...even though he kept widening the gap up until 150km/h after which his family sedan got tired...he tried all he could with his hazard starting to blink at 160... (at this point the maxima had let off a bit) i pushed easily closing up to hit 190km/h taking him outta the way same time giving him my hazard as a polite way to pay back....trying not to be more than 5cars behind,he kept tryin to close in but couldn't do nil as he let off and with the road still silky smooth with a good view ahead, i cruised for a while to make sure this family car gets small in my rear view mirror before i restored some civility to the road...
I hereby pronounce you the James Bond of Nigeria.
