NYSCRe: A thread for corpers posted to Kano by Orpelin(op): 9:14pm On Mar 02, 2013
Obvious, everybody can not leave kano after CAMP, some ppl would have preferred to be posted to this same kano but could not got it and some ppl will even still be redeployed to this same Kano.
so the decision to stay or not shd be based on so many personal, realistic & objective reasons & not just emotional,hear-talk or media reasons at all
I knew of a lady that got redeloyed and lately cancelled it but till now her total 3 month allowance is still hanging while some have no problem.
In the same vain, I'm aware of 4 ppl from my batch presently that are smilling & thanking God that they were posted to Kano from the SW.
So many are equally earning enough aside the monthly allowance. All what I'm saying is that U need to decide & determine what U want for urself as per the service year.

Timi1990, airline price is not static both Over-The-Counter & Online Booking,so I suggest U go thru there website and make ur booking Or better still, visit their stand from the desire airport base U want to take off. Any delay in booking and payment is liable to lateral & spontenous increase on per second bases.

austin4real: Orpelin, may I ask where u wanna redeploy to, and why u failed to redeploy in camp initially....
I had a preferential PPA posting letter with me then but was not granted cos it was a FG parastatal.

NYSCRe: A thread for corpers posted to Kano by Orpelin(op): 4:59pm On Mar 01, 2013
This is for those that have some REAL medical case. U are to go to the CAMP with these.
medical report, prescription sheet, receits of drugs purchased, and other services provided by the hospital which must not be private.
Lucky in kano Camp, they do not usually carry out counter-medical examination by external personnel.
NYSCRe: A thread for corpers posted to Kano by Orpelin(op): 4:43pm On Mar 01, 2013
This is not to discourage U ppl pls.
KANO state is equivalent & accorded same treatment as BORNO and YOBE state.(Based on the prevelling security situations here also based on last treatment they gave 12C corpers)
AUTOMATIC REDEPLOYMENT SHALL & WILL be GRANTED to any corper that apply in CAMP with even as
simple reason as INSECURITY, FAMILY PRESSURE, PSYCOTRAUMA etc.
U may not get ur most preferred state if its those "no-go-area
state" but u can still get a proxy-state inlieu, but for others who will not apply for those high-profile states, ur are good to go!!!

Inufele1: @ Orperlin, please update us on the latest in kano and also the best means of travelling down(air, train or road) ? I am currently in Ibadan
As for Air TransportThere is no flight from Ib to kano except U go thru Lagos port. Airfare now will be increasing but booking can be done online. There are just 3 airline that ply Lag-Kano: Aero,IRS & Arik in there increasing order of cost and usu twice per day.pls dont try any of those airline 2nd time flight to Kano, cos U will land here late & U will not CAMP in the day time.
Sabon Gari, which is the most relative & preferred town for the non-hausa can be use as a stop-over, is just few minute away & cost between 50-100 fare from the port.
As For Road Transport
,pls locate any good motor pact where there is inter-state travel to north.
Pls try and find ur fellow corpers and ensure U board a direct-single-route bus or car to kano, cos some do carry ppl travelling along that route & it slow down the destination time.
Last situation report from Crosscountry & ABC shows that they are not dependable.
Also, cos of the diversion of traffic due to the flyover bridge projects currently going on around the state city, some bus may not want to take corpers to the interior mega-city where it may be easier for them to get to camp, however, wherever point they stop, just look for cab to take U to Kabuga & from here U will get bus to Karaye Camp
As For Train Transpost, pls forget that thing cos I have not seen any train here but heard that they travel Kano-Lag on Mon,Kano to Offa

Jokes EtcEXPOSED: Drama As Kim K Causes Fight At Darey’s Concert by Orpelin(op): 11:24pm On Feb 18, 2013
Two Men were yesterday apprehended by bouncers at Darey’s
Love Like a Movie Concert, when a fight broke out between them over Kim Kardashian’s Brief Appearance and Quick exit.
Our Reporters say the Men, who used to be best friends, had paid for the show so as to see (as well as masturbate to) Kim
Kardashian Live, instead of with a picture like they usually did.
They smuggled a bottle of Pears Lotion each into the venue for this purpose, but were highly disappointed when Kim K didn’t stay for long. One of the men started crying, and suggested they masturbate to Tiwa Savage instead. This got his friend angry, and he proceeded to pour some Pears Lotion into his cup of Baileys.
The two men then started exchanging words, and in no time, were on the ground punching each other. Security had to intervene to seperate them, and they have since been arrested for Disturbing The Peace. The National Wankers Association (NWA) has condemned the act, saying “Fellow Wankers should leave in peace, and stick to pictures”
Foreign AffairsObama's Proposed Visit To Israel: Branded With Official Logo And Award by Orpelin(op): 10:56pm On Feb 18, 2013
The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants to brand US President Barack Obama's visit "Operation Unbreakable Alliance."
"Obama’s trip to Israel will be run like a military operation in most every way. It even has a code name: Unbreakable Alliance in English, and Brit Amim (A Covenant of Peoples) in Hebrew,"
"The Prime Minister’s Office came up with a large number of creative ideas for the American president’s visit, but diplomatic protocol combined with ceremonies, speeches and a heavy schedule of meetings have made such initiatives largely irrelevant."
GlobalPost's Senior Correspondent in Israel Noga Tarnopolsky said the unveiling of Operation Unbreakable Alliance signals Netanyahu's nervousness about the way Obama's upcoming trip to Israel may be perceived by the media. "I think by now its safe to say that everyone knows the Obama- Netanyahu relationship has not been a happy one," Tarnopolsky said. "Netanyahu was weakend by the last elections and it is very likely that he will receive Obama on March 20 without a new government in hand. He needs this trip to go well very, very badly." If it goes well, she said, it could burninsh Netanyahu's claim as the only legitimate candidate for prime minister.
"But Netanyahu and his team are gaffe-prone and uneasy right now — and I'd say "Operation Unbreakable Alliance" is one sign that they are concerned things may not follow their desired narrative," Tarnopolsky added.
Netanyahu won a smaller than expected victory in elections in January. In the run up to the American elections last November, Netanyahu was perceived as favoring Republican nominee Mitt Romney for president and Obama and Netanyahu have had a tense relationship from the beginning of Obama's presidency.
The office of Israeli President Shimon Peres announced Monday that Obama would be presented with the Presidential Medal of Distinction in March, according to the Guardian. It would recognize Obama's "unique and significant contribution to strengthening the State of Israel and the security of its citizens."
The prime minister's official Facebook page offers three
choices for logos to represent Obama's visit:
Though neither government has confirmed dates for the visit, Israeli media has been reporting that it will be from March 20 to 22, according to Agence France Presse. The White House has reiterated that Obama is not bringing any peace proposals with him on his trip.
Netanyahu said on Sunday that his talks with Obama would focus on Iran's nuclear program, Syria and the Palestinian peace talks.

When President Barack Obama visits Israel next month, he’ll be awarded the Presidential Medal of Distinction, Israeli President Shimon Peres’ office announced Monday.
Obama, the first sitting U.S. president to receive the recognition, will be awarded the medal for making “a unique and significant contribution to strengthening the State of Israel and the security of its citizens,” according to a release announcing the news.
He’ll receive the award at a dinner at Peres’ residence in Jerusalem, slated to be attended by senior figures from Israeli public life and the Obama administration. The award is given to “private” individuals and organizations that have made “outstanding contributions to bettering the world.”
Previous winners of the award include former Secretary of State Dr. Henry Kissinger, the Music Director of the Israel
Philharmonic Orchestra, Attorney Uri Slonim, and Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz. It’s not the first time the two presidents have exchanged awards.
Obama bestowed Peres the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor, last year at the White House. Twelve others also received the award in 2012.
The Medal of Distinction comes as Obama makes his first trip to Israel as president–a trip expected to receive wide attention in light of the Obama administration’s at-times turbulent relationship with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Despite getting off to a rocky start with Netanyahu by pushing for a comprehensive freeze of Israeli settlements, Obama’s vocal support for Netanyahu through the November crisis with Gaza and U.S. financial support for the “Iron Dome” anti-missile program, could pave the road for greater trust in the relationship, and more flexibility from Netanyahu when it comes to the disputed Iranian nuclear program.
And in his State of the Union address last week, Obama said
when he travels to the Middle East, he’ll deliver a message
signaling that the U.S. will “stand steadfast with Israel in pursuit of security and a lasting peace.”

Foreign AffairsChina Flexes Muscle And Took Control Of Key Pakistani Seaport by Orpelin(op): 10:22pm On Feb 18, 2013
China has taken control of a Pakistan seaport located on the southwest coast, an economically strategic move that will benefit Beijing.
A signing ceremony transferring control of Gwadar port to a Chinese company took place Monday in Islamabad, according to the Associated Press.
China paid the bulk of the $250 million construction costs of the seaport, which has been operating under the control of a company in Singapore , AP reports.
It’s been a failed economic venture for more than five years, mostly because Pakistan didn’t finish promised roadway construction plans that would have linked the port to the rest of the country, AP reports.
China plans to use the port to bolster its energy sector and anchor pipelines there for oil and gas imports from the Persian Gulf, AP reports.

Foreign AffairsNorth Korea Nuke Test Sanction Is A Lesson On Iran: Isreal PM by Orpelin(op):
Israel's Prime Minister says North Korea's recent nuclear test shows that "sanctions alone will not stop" Iran's atomic program.
Benjamin Netanyahu told a gathering of international Jewish leaders on Monday that the Western sanctions against Tehran "have to be coupled with a robust, credible, military threat. If they are not, then there is no chance to stop them." He says Iran will top his agenda when President Barack Obama visits Israel next month.
North Korea conducted a nuclear test last week despite warnings of more international punishment. Iran, like North Korea, is under stiff sanctions from the West over its nuclear program.
Israel sees Iran's nuclear program as an existential threat.
Netanyahu often hints about a possible strike on Iran's nuclear sites if sanctions fail.

EventsMass Wedding Ceremony In South Korea (Pic) by Orpelin(op):
Thousands of Unification Church followers have married in a
mass wedding in South Korea - the first since the death of their "messiah" and controversial church founder Sun Myung Moon.
Around 3,500 identically dressed couples - many of mixed nationality who had met just days before - took part in the ceremony with the exchange of wedding vows at the church's headquarters in Gapyeong, east of Seoul today.
Mass weddings, some held in giant sports stadiums with tens of thousands of couples, have long been a signature feature of the church and one that "Moonie" critics have pointed to as evidence of cult underpinnings.
Sunday's event carried a special resonance, with Moon's 70-year- old widow Hak Ja Han presiding for the first time without her husband who died five months ago, aged 92, of complications from pneumonia.
The church's mass weddings began in the early 1960s and
originally involved just a few dozen couples.
Over the years they grew in size and attracted international media attention.
In 1997, 30,000 couples tied the knot in Washington and two years later around 21,000 filled Seoul's Olympic Stadium.
Nearly all were personally matched by Moon, who taught that romantic love led to sexual promiscuity, mismatched couples and dysfunctional societies.
Many were married just hours after meeting for the first time, and Moon's preference for cross-cultural, international marriages means they often shared no common language.
Oath
In recent years, matchmaking responsibilities have shifted
towards parents, but 400 of the church members married on Sunday had chosen to be paired off a few days before at an
"engagement ceremony" presided over by Moon's widow.
"Yeah, I was pretty nervous," admitted Jin Davidson, a 21 year-old student from the United States, whose Australian father and Japanese mother were matched by Moon.
"Then all of a sudden she popped up in front of me, and I said OK," Davidson said of his Japanese bride-to-be, Kotona Shimizu, also 21.

"We struggle a little to communicate right now, as I speak no
Japanese at all, and she only speaks a little English, but we see it as an exciting challenge and proof of our faith," he said. Those who choose to be matched by the church must confirm under oath that they are virgins, and after their wedding the couple must refrain from sexual relations for a minimum of 40 days.
In a sign of the changing times, Lisa, from Trinidad and Tobago, first met her bridegroom, Hubert from Poland, on Skype after being put in contact by family and church friends.
Hubert visited her family in December and the couple decided to attend Sunday's event in South Korea to receive the blessing of "mother Moon".
"I've been waiting for him all my life," Lisa said.
"Language isn't such an issue. We're connected by the church."
Revered
The ceremony was held in the same vast, covered stadium where Moon's elaborate funeral was held on September 15. Hak Ja Han entered to the strains of Handel's Hallelujah chorus and led the couples in their vows. Another 12,000 couples around the world took part via a live internet feed.Revered by his followers but denounced by critics as a charlatan who brainwashed church members, Moon was a deeply divisive figure whose shadowy business dealings saw him jailed in the US.
The teachings of the Unification Church are based on the Bible but with new interpretations, and Moon saw his role as completing the unfulfilled mission of Jesus to restore humanity to a state of "sinless" purity.
While it claims a worldwide following of 3 million, experts suggest the core membership is far smaller although it still carries a commercial clout that allows the church to punch way above its doctrinal weight.
