Joenice: why laughing man? stop it. unless u guys wanna finish me. some folks derive so much joy finishing me here.Sorry sir....I won't finish you, am not like "some folks". But one thing is certain.....The lord is your strength!! |
juntod: Nothing beats AbstinenceHahahaha |
seunny4lif: Yeah, pastor thing...I have apply already but I don't know how to paid the application fees cos I don't hav anyone in USA?You don't need to have one over there. If you have any atm that has visa logo on it, go to the bank and inform them you would like to use it for online transactions. They will activate it and you can then proceed with the registration. Another method is you have a gt bank mastercard, activate it for online transactions at the bank, register with paypal, add your mastercard and verify your account. Finally, some of our nairalanders can help out with the payment as well. |
seunny4lif: How do I register for TOEFL?Am going for theology...Pastor things ...to register for toefl, get a visa card (debit or credit) and register at ets.org/toefl |
stevecrun: in 2chainz deep voice "TRUE"Hahaha......in t-pain's voice "almost got screwed" |
stevecrun: Never let student review put you off my guy.I know that bro but the problem with the school is that it's mechanical engineering department is not accredited by ABET. That is a red flag right there starring. |
ngofancy: Please is there any body out here who got admission to University of Bridgeport and has gotten his or her VISA I will like to hook up with you thanks and God bless.I did but I'm deferring to spring 2015. NO VISA YET SHA. The school dey fear me tho. Student review of the school no just good. |
Joenice: Whatever! No one is doubting the credibility of your sponsor. I only focused on home ties. Most F-1 visas are issued based on home ties. I pray you get your visa. Wishing you the best of luck. Thank whoever that responded to your questions. It's all about caring and not other way round.Thankyou! |
decreamaster: fine!I understand the point but at this moment, I don't have one. |
Joenice: Ok good. Get a local sponsor.Thankyou but no thanks. Having spoken to an immigration lawyer, he said I don't have a problem at all as long as my sponsor has sufficient funds and also the tax documents. |
Joenice: Sorry i was just busy. First of all, which school are you heading to?Ermmm Texas A & M University college station or university of oklahoma |
@joenice This is not nice!! Answer me nau |
Joenice: You need some cane here. USA is the country of origin that the applicant is going to, so it will be totally bad, if they do not accept it. Now, the UK is a total different ball game, because he's living in the UK, so you can as well study in the United Kingdom, why going to America? You see the difference now? So you really have to convince the VO that there's enough funds for your studies.I think I am a bit confused by your first and second sentence. Really don't know the point being made there. Secondly, that he is a citizen doesn't necessarily mean he lives there. It's just that his salary is being paid to his account over there while he works overseas. I want to attend a school who wants to teach me and not one who is after my money. There is enough money in the account and spare sef. |
MsNas: Is the account which you're using its statement domiciled in Nigeria or the UK? If its in any of the Nigerian banks out there in Nigeria, then you should have no problems of home ties. Worst case scenario, the VO will ask you why your Dad is not sponsoring you and you can explain politely about the situation. There's no way a VO will find out if the owner of the account is in Nigeria or even if he/she holds dual citizenship.Actually the account is in UK not nigeria. The nigeria account isn't used for big transactions. Just normal small transactions (less than 1m). He has properties here and was working here before as an expatriate for a multi national coy before changing jobs to another one. When I joined this thread, these were the first questions I asked and I was given the go ahead now it is a different ball game. I am actually going to get ma Masters. The uk and usa work hand in hand and I see absolutely no reason why it is not verifiable. |
Joenice: Well, your dad being a medical doctor is a strong home tie. Why can't he be your sponsor? Someone living in the UK is not really in good position to represent you as a sponsor, but in US, could be a little bit manageable. Or better if your tuition is very high. Please try to change your sponsor. It would have been better if you're studying in the UK. You should remember you're going for an F-1 visa, lots of things come into play. Please change your sponsor, or you go try your luck and pray that the VO does not focus on sponsorship to issue you a visa, if not, it might be very hard to convince him that you will depart America after your studies. Buy me a drink now? Lol, just kidding.Leave drink first. I am applying to some top schools in the USA. I don't have another sponsor and this sponsor can more than provide all the funds I need and e dey hurry me sef! If they can accept a statement from a USA citizen why won't they accept that of a UK citizen? |
osahons9: I have been reading from page 320 to 424 to bring me up to speed with the transcripts and techniques.More inputs abeg ![]() |
Joenice: Yes but where's your family? Sorry, if my question sounds a bit harsh, it's all about correcting some flaws. My family is here in Nigeria. My dad is a medical doctor but my younger sister schools they toast the man account . What do I do? Make I just know now before stories that touch enter. |
I have been reading from page 320 to 424 to bring me up to speed with the transcripts and techniques. I noticed one issue and I would like your input. I am team spring 2015 and I am currently getting my acts together. My account statement has enough funds but it's a UK bank account. My uncle is my sponsor and he is a British citizen. Will this be a problem as regard to home ties? Because someone said it will (or along that line). |

Very obvious. Both schools are in the same state. So your research online was limited to texas only. Also, the VO believes that you are going texas because your elder sister lives there. I believe you were trying to cut cost living with your sister. These are likely the reasons why your visa was delayed. My Advice is you should apply to other schools from a different state or states and go again. This time the VO won't have a reason to delay it since other universities accepted you. This is from what i have gathered here but I might be wrong! |
