Hello friends...A friend a mine needs a candid advice!!

He wants to apply for undergraduate admission in fall 2015 but he's scared of being denied due to his inability to secure admission into a tertiary institution in Nigeria(JAMB wahala)

He finished high school in 2002, got admission into one of the Fed poly in 2011 with a National Diploma Certificate in 2013. He's 25yrs old

What are his chances of getting a Visa ?

Does the age disqualifies him from an undergraduate programme?

Tell him to apply. The age is still very okay though I belive that age na scam (Let's not discuss that).

25 years isn't bad. He can go for undergraduate but he has to fill the missing years. He also needs to write standardized test to show he is a serious student.

You can apply after seven (7) days. But you need to have an idea why you were denied in the first place. That is what we help do here.

Fastforward 2anoda admission frm France and UI, den I got 2knw NL, peeps hia encouraged me 2drop it&pursue US again. I took dt grt courage and re-applied.

Fastforward to weeks before interview, I fasted once a week like 4 weeks b4 interview and 7days the week b4 interview, had like 3 personal vigils declaring on ma documents.

On the D-day, I slept over with a family frend @Ajah, woke up 3am, prayd small, had ma bath, prayd again nd left 4.20, got dere 5.23am and met sm light crowd. I join dem o, after biometrics and normal checks, na I'm ma throat dey dry o, i sha gggo ease maself na I'm b4 i return, ma number don show, na I'm I enter the woman counter o sharperly.

I need your take on selecting schools for graduate programs (US)- heard i have to send my scores after my GRE test. I am trying to be prudent: i would love a top school but i cannot put all my eggs in one basket.

So my OGAS, schools for Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering Programs. I have looked-up a couple of schools (through GOOGLE, of course), but i need expert advice on how to increase my chances of getting admission.

1)School of Mines Colorado 2) Texas- Austin 3) Texas A/M. but they seem to be all top schools. I also need playing safe kind of schools

Use best-engineering-colleges dot com. It will enable you pick schools in different teir. For the schools listed, they are top schools with acceptance rate of 1in 5. It's a holistic process so your grades have to be stellar to compete.

Who has done this immunization report thing? The schools that offered me admissions said if I don't provide it, I can't register for class. Someone help!!! I need to know how to go about getting it.

Get that waiver letter. That GRE score would do you more harm than good.

You can register and rewrite the exam.

Well, if that is the case, you have nothing to worry. In as much as you know the reason why you chose the school and make sure you inform the VO that you applied to three schools and a valid reason why you chose the one on youre likely to take to the embassy. Dont worry yourself about it.

Clarify please, how many schools did you include in the score recipient? Can you tell the state they are located?

Score recipients to 5. Tx, 2 in CT, FL, OK. I applied to six. The school in MD didnt require any standardized tests. The schools in TX, FL and Ok are still considering my applications.

They are just slow for some strange reasons. So I want to process one of the schools in CT.

@slimmy05 There is something bothering me that I just want to be 100% sure about. 2 universities in CT gave me offers. One required GRE/TOEFL and the other waived them. Now I have am waiting for the I -20 of the former. When I wrote GRE, I mistakenly added the latter as one of the score recipients (blame it on excitement). Now will that not look odd to the VO? Like I have a special interest in CT?

Mind you I have an offer from MD and I am waiting for 3 highly ranked universities to reach their decisions (1st, 2nd and 3rd choice).

I just want to be sure about this.

First you'll find a copy of your evaluated transcript in your wes account. Then you will receive the hard copy say within the following 3 weeks.

(Thank you for your email.  It is not a requirement that you have your transcript evaluated by WES.  Once your application file is complete and your transcripts have been received a member of our staff will complete a credential evaluation.  However, we will accept an official evaluation from WES if you decide to have one completed.)

You don't have a problem anyway u go about it. Some schools require wes while some others don't.

I thought they meant valid for 6 months and not 6 months old. Your passport is valid for 4 years sef. So I think you are good to go.

I was exempted from SAT and TOEFL which was clearly stated on my I-20 dat "The student has the required english proficiency"
I have a TOEFL result certifcate which I wrote in 2011.
My question is,
can I go to the embassy with the 2011 TOEFL result certifcate.
On my I-20s it states Family fund as sponsor,can I go to the embassy with my dad's company acct statement with his CAC,Tax Clearance and a sponsorship letter.
Please what is my chance...

Get a letter from the university that says SAT was waived as well. I think you should be prepared to answer some tricky questions in relation with why you are transferring to another school. The toefl result is no longer valid but you can take it along though. Throw that community college i-20 away. Do these and spice it with God's grace, your chances will be as high as mt everest

You have to apply for an extension before going for the interview. In other words the letter should be taken alongside your documents to the embassy.
