princejeffery: i need help on this school. murray state university if black ppl are there like morgan state uni.. one d murray waive toefl for nigeria i email them and they reply to me, but d problem is d tuition is too much Though in the land of the unknown you need like race people but I have this belief that race doesn't matter. You will almost always see blacks anywhere. South dakota is a redskin state but we have blacks there. So I think you should be looking at schools that will enhance your career than looking for schools that have a large population of blacks. This is my opinion. You might have urs as well |

Tekecoms1: Please may i know how many weeks or days it took WES to send you their own translation....... You will send them your transcript, they will verify it with your school and then evaluate it and mail u a copy. This is not suppose to take more than a month all things being equal. But as you know, some universities here in Nigeria are something else. It takes them forever to verify the transcript and this tend to delay the process. Ermmmmm what I am trying to say is mine took 3 months |

bigfrancis21: It is funny when you muster all the energy you can muster to supposedly 'school' someone on the law when you obviously know the law but advice somebody to cheat the law. USCIS expressly forbids F1 students from working off-campus, yet you willingly adviced somebody to intentionally take his SSN, which by the way is authorized only for on-campus employment, to go work off-campus. Is this not your post to somebody suggesting to him a way to cheat the US goverment and law, and work off-campus?
Meanwhile, the US law expressly states:
http://www.uscis.gov/working-united-states/students-and-exchange-visitors/students-and-employment
Don't even try modifying your post later to claim otherwise because I have taken a snapshot of it as evidence of wilful disobedience of the law.
Before you try 'schooling' someone else next time, be sure that you are worth your onions before dabbling into an ostensible myriad of needless hullaballoo.
By the way, I am even sure you were ignorantly unaware and didn't even know that a student who works off-campus with their SSN has fallen out of status? Yet you advised somebody to willingly violate his visa terms and fall out of status.
https://internationalaffairs.uchicago.edu/page/loss-status
Are you even aware that the penalty for working off-campus is outright deportation back to one's home country? I bet you didn't know that. You need a lot of schooling on your ignorance of basic rules and laws of the F1 student visa.
Please next time try not to mislead people on this forum with wrong advice and information. This is the internet and information is archived. Someone might read your post and think it is valid, only to go work off campus, be caught and deported back to his home country. Having read both sides of the argument, I think Msnas has nothing to prove to you. She has made her points and backed them with good references. You just keep going back and front about the issue. You even gave more evidence when you copied something written on your school website. So I see no reason why you are saying otherwise. The school will do it's job by reporting to sevis about a deferment. Sevis will do what is right therefore you have to leave for your home country. I would appreciate if this issue is dropped. Thankyou |

bigfrancis21: You obtained 2.776 after translation? Please recheck your calculation. Someone I know with 2.38/5.0 CGPA had 2.7/4.0 after conversion. Yours should be above 2.7766.
@Bold...exactly. Only the official copy from WES will be accepted. I think there is little or no need for these calculations. WES pays more attention to the last 3 years (Upper) in university. that actually determines where u end up. I had 3.15/5 n wes evaluated to 3.03/4. QED |

By the way in response to someone's words, USA does not put an end to one's sufferings but i will say that the chances of making it in USA is far possibly higher than wasting away in naija and be saying God will do it as if our parents did not pray the same prayer. I ld rather do menial jobs in yankee and get well paid than stay in naija doing a white collar job and paid a rubbish wage where a stupid boss will be claiming lordship over my live... Bros calm down!!! Once you are able to get a stay, with hardwork, you will make it. |

pixietop: Good day House,
How long does it take for the F-1 visas to be issued? The VO said thursday(A week from when my visa was approved). My plight is I have a 2 week work trip booked on the 14th, I need to know if I should change my flight to 15th or 16th which would cost me a whole lot, or stick with the flight for 14th night if it's sure I would get my passport on the 14th.... I actually thought it was three business days. You will get it on the 14th. Usually it's 3 business working days. So I would stick around till 14th n if no news, before I change date. Hope you can reschedule anytime? I think that will save you some money. |
