Politics / Obasa, State Speakers Condemn Obaseki Over Siege On State Assembly by Oshoboy01: 12:20pm On Aug 08, 2020
The chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, has condemned the recent siege on the Edo State House of Assembly by men suspected to be loyal to governor of the State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki.

In a statement he personally signed on behalf of the Conference of Speakers, Obasa said the removal of the roofs of the hallowed Assembly is an injury to Nigeria's democracy and must be condemned by all well-meaning Nigerians.

According to the statement, the Speaker and his colleagues in the country described the brazen manner the suspected political thugs took over the Assembly, removed the roof and broke the symbolic mace, which were all captured in a recorded video, as sheer recklessness.

The Conference accused the state government headed by Obaseki as autocratic and dictatorial in this regard adding that whatever defence the latter has for the action does not 'hold any water'.

"It is sheer recklessness and a proof of dictatorship for a governor who is supposed to be the head of the executive arm of government to decide to take charge of another arm through questionable means like it happened in Edo.

"There were reports linking the removal of the roof and the offloading of gravel at the complex to purported plans by the government to renovate the Assembly but we think this is an afterthought," the Speakers declared.

The Conference wondered how the idea of renovating the Assembly suddenly came up just weeks to the governorship election in the state and in such manner creating a mockery of the electioneering process and democracy.

"Why is the government just realising the need renovate the complex at the twilight of the administration?

"What happens to the building if the governor does not return? What happens if the next administration does not take that direction?

Obasa's statement on behalf of his colleagues further questioned the role played the Commissioner of Police in the state in the entire drama.

The statement accused the police commissioner of allowing himself to be used as a tool to perpetrate an attack on democracy in the way the drama panned out at the Assembly complex in the state.

While strongly warning the governor and those participating in the electoral process in the state to desist from doing anything that would affect the smooth running of the Edo House of Assembly, the Speakers reminded Obaseki that the removal of the Assembly roof does not stop the lawmakers from sitting as the constitution of the country does not limit plenaries to the hallowed chamber alone.

BBNaija is a big business that employs great strategy to ensure money keeps flowing, the top five housemates about to be talked about are those who are really bringing in the money for BBNaija organisers

All these and many other things she does in the house will not make her get evicted. She’s making the news which in turn pumps in money for Biggie, hence, eviction is so far from her.

2 Kiddwaya : The romantic and son of a Nigerian billionaire himself! Kiddwaya is also one housemate holding down the house for Biggie. He was first of all popular for his cuteness, then later for his intimacy with Erica.

Laycon is loved by all in the house, he has got so many fans due to the talent he has. He appears to be in love with Erica, He has confirmed how he feels bad whenever he sees Kidd with Erica.
Though Erica has told him that she is only mentally attracted to him, he doesn’t seem to be giving up soon. Laycon is one of the reasons people derive interest in the show, He has huge support even from celebrities, if he gets evicted, it become a huge loss for biggie.

He is also said to be in love with Nnegi, who felt bad after He appointed Dorathy as his deputy head of house.

Religion / TB Joshua Begins Prayer For Covid-19 Patients In Isolation Centres by Oshoboy01: 5:18am On Aug 03, 2020
TB Joshua Begins Prayer For Covid-19 Patients In Isolation Centres

Nigerian Pastor TB Joshua has offered ‘virtual prayer’ for healing for those afflicted with COVID-19 in an Isolation Centre in Honduras, Central America.

A video posted to Emmanuel TV’s YouTube Channel showed the prominent cleric praying for bedridden patients hooked up to oxygen tanks and surrounded by hospital staff heavily laden with protective gear.

“Where can we go from God’s presence? Distance is not a barrier because He is Spirit,” TB Joshua declared in front of several huge screens relaying in real-time the footage from the several wards within the Honduran Isolation Centre.

“By the power of the Holy Spirit – that affliction, that COVID-19 – be flushed out,” he prayed stretching forth his hands towards the dozens of patients on the multiple screens at the Emmanuel TV Studios in Lagos, Nigeria, in a program tagged ‘Interactive Prayer Session’.

During the prayer – which was translated simultaneously into Spanish – several patients began to involuntarily ‘vomit’ whilst others rose to their feet from their hospital beds, waved their hands joyously and removed the oxygen apparatus fixed to their nose as a sign of “supernatural healing”.

“Jesus that has freed you will help you to maintain your miracle. Make the Word of God the standard for your life,” Joshua counselled after declaring dozens of COVID-19 patients “free”.

“I sensed the healing and delivering power of God,” explained Aracely, one of the Honduran patients, after the prayer. “I felt my lungs fill up with air… I’m no longer using the oxygen mask,” she testified.

“I couldn’t go to the toilet before but immediately after the prayer, I felt like rushing to the toilet,” another patient immediately acknowledged. “I passed out a lot of foul substance – that was the power of the prayer.”

“I saw a white light that illuminated me and asked me to remove my oxygen mask,” another lady stated. “I’m not choking any longer,” she excitedly stated, with others testifying their sense of smell and taste was restored and their strength revitalized following the prayer.

Afterwards, representatives of the medical staff at the hospital thanked Joshua for his prayers and support.

The video concluded by stressing that it was not intended to “discourage anyone from seeking medical treatment” as “good Christians are good citizens”.

“If you don’t believe in God with medicine, you cannot believe in God without medicine,”Joshua said.

Last month, the World Health Organisation reacted to a video in which a Cameroonian medical doctor was ‘healed’ of COVID-19 after receiving “interactive prayer” from Joshua’s ministry, acknowledging “spiritual leadership is very important in a time like this”.

Since starting its ‘Interactive Prayer Sessions’ – in which online prayer is offered via video calls – Joshua’s ministry has prayed for COVID-19 patients from around the world, prompting the cleric to recently declare his readiness to freely pray for those in Isolation Centers.

Joshua, who had been absent for seven weeks from Emmanuel TV’s broadcasts, earlier shared a sermon titled ‘Mistakes Are Correctable’.

“We wake up in the morning determined to get it right. Before we know it, we have missed the mark,” Joshua began, stressing that “making a mistake” was not the issue but “how we handle it matters.”

“For instance, the issue of COVID-19 is a mistake. However, how we are handling it has led us to where we are today,” he continued, citing the uncertainties and “twists and turns of life”.

“If you make a mistake, as we all do sometimes, don’t run from God; run to Him,” Joshua taught, adding that mistakes actually “make Christian life more interesting and more valuable” and serve as a means to “draw us closer to God”.

“We made the call - and all of us have made the bad call in some areas of our lives,” he acknowledged, parabolically describing that everyone has “feet of clay to some extent”.

Joshua concluded by calling on viewers to have a ‘genuine’ connection with God. “When we connect with Jesus genuinely by way of a personal relationship, He will walk you through everything you do,” he stressed, before proceeding to pray for viewers.

Joshua’s videos have been viewed over one billion times in various languages on YouTube, with his official English Channel reaching 1.7 million subscribers.

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, RT. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, has described this year’s Eid-el-Kabir, the annual Islamic celebration, as a unique one judging by the impact of COVID-19, a global pandemic, on individuals, religion and the economy of nations, Nigeria inclusive.

In a message felicitating with Muslims in the state and the nation, Obasa who is the chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria, however, reminded the faithful that God deserves praise in whatever situation they find themselves because that is one of His commandments.
According to him, the world should see its present predicament as a call to get closer to God through humility, respect and love for neighbours.

Obasa congratulated Muslims who are alive to witness the celebration and urged them to remain conscious that “we all exist not by our strengths but by God’s grace.

“Within the year, many of us have lost loved ones; we have also had moments of downturn, but God has been our strength at such periods.

“As we mark this celebration, let us remember our brothers and sisters in need, let us remember the true meaning of love for one another and above all, we must all draw closer to God, who knows the end from the beginning and whose grace we constantly seek.”
The Speaker, who commended Lagos State and the Federal Government over the way they have handled the pandemic, pleaded with citizens to continue to adhere to medical instructions, including the use of face masks, sanitizers and washing of hands at required times.

“Adherence to instructions is one of the best ways we can collectively return our society to normalcy,” he said as he wished all Muslims in the country a happy celebration.

Religion / How TB Joshua Healed Me From Bedwetting - Medical Doctor by Oshoboy01: 12:43pm On Jul 27, 2020
“I WAS WARNED TO NEVER WATCH TB JOSHUA BUT GOD USED HIM TO HEAL ME!” – MEDICAL DOCTOR

A Nigerian medical doctor based in Romania has shared a testimony about how she stopped bedwetting after praying with TB Joshua – a man she was warned by her church to never associate with

In a video posted to Emmanuel TV’s YouTube Channel, the popular Christian channel with 1.7 million subscribers, Dr Ataikiru Usiwoma revealed she suffered with an embarrassing case of bedwetting since birth.

“It would surely happen every time I slept – daily or twice in a day,” Usiwoma explained, adding the problem persisted during her time in medical school in Ukraine and led her to being withdrawn and introverted.

According to Dr Ataikiru, a Ghanaian doctor advised her to watch Emmanuel TV but she was initially reluctant as she had been told TB Joshua was demonic from a young age and warned to never watch Emmanuel TV in her church in Nigeria.

“They said that if you even turned on the channel, the spirit could possess you,” she recounted.

However, when another Nigerian Pastor showed her a video equally saying negative things about Joshua, she felt a conviction to do investigations herself rather than relying on hearsay.

When she began watching Emmanuel TV, Usiwoma was ‘surprised’ to discover Joshua “calling the name of Jesus”.

According to her, “I continued watching it and prayed with Emmanuel TV and the bedwetting immediately stopped.”

The young doctor said she had not experienced any form of bedwetting for over six years, to confirm the authenticity of her miraculous experience.

“My advice is for anyone who is going through any situation that seems impossible - they should remember that with God, nothing is impossible,” she concluded.

In his remarks on the video description, Joshua stated, "Whatever negative comment people must have made in the past about me, God allowed it so that He can use it to speak strength and courage into my life. Man’s rejection provokes God’s direction. When man rejects you, God would start to direct you.”

Politics / FFK And Shinkafi Emirate: A Good Reminder Of The Charter Of Peace by Oshoboy01: 7:39am On Jul 24, 2020
FFK AND SHINKAFI EMIRATE: A GOOD REMINDER OF THE CHARTER OF PEACE – Deyemi Saka

"Verily I, the servants, the helpers, and my followers defend them, because Christians are my citizens; and by Allah! I hold out against anything that displeases them. No compulsion is to be on them. Neither are their judges to be removed from their jobs nor their monks from their monasteries.

No one is to destroy a house of their religion, to damage it, or to carry anything from it to the Muslims’ houses. Should anyone take any of these, he would spoil God’s covenant and disobey His Prophet. Verily, they are my allies and have my secure charter against all that they hate.

No one is to force them to travel or to oblige them to fight. The Muslims are to fight for them. If a female Christian is married to a Muslim, it is not to take place without her approval. She is not to be prevented from visiting her church to pray.

Their churches are to be respected. They are neither to be prevented from repairing them nor the sacredness of their covenants. No one of the nation of (Muslims) is to disobey the covenant till the Last Day (end of the world).”

With this, Prophet Muhammed(SAW) the son of Abdullah, entered a covenant to those who adopt Christianity, near and far, we are with them.

I came up with this in a bid to build my argument on. I can boldly assert that many Muslims in Nigeria do not abide by this simple document which will eliminate all forms of religious bias and bigotry.

Femi Fani Kayode's visit to Zamfara and his confernment of a chieftancy title by the Shinkafi Emirate has generated a lot of negative reactions and resistance. While I cannot and I will never hold brief for Femi Fami Kayode and I cannot begrudge anyone for demonstrating his or her rejection of such move, I think we should jump at this golden opportunity to preach peaceful coexistence among Nigerians along religious and ethnic divide.

Zamfara State got into spotlight when democratic rule was restored in 1999 with its introduction of Sharia Law. Many other northern States joined the train and the created a huge chasm among Nigerians. Zamfara is still perceived in such bad light beyond the northern region. Many do this without setting a foot on Zamfara. This many believe is responsible for the poor level of enrollment in schools and an abysmal position on human development indices rating which left Zamfara as the poverty capital of Nigeria.

With renewed efforts by Governor Bello Muammed Matawalle-led administration towards rebranding the state and repositioning it towards greatness, who will be a worthy ambassador for Zamfara State in its quest to regain the confidence of not only Nigerians but foreign investors? Who will many take seriously than a former critic of your values who now claim to know better? Who will sell your brand better than someone who knows how you will be attacked?

The leadership of Shinkafi Emirate scored a very huge point with this move and I can only implore them to reach out to dissenting person to let them see the greater good in the decision. This will also go a long way in healing our land and reducing the level of hate, mistrust and intolerance among Nigerians.

I will not rule out political interference and power play in the event playing out, I strongly believe with a deep understanding of the Charter of Peace, we will surely chart a new path for peaceful coexistence in our dear country.

God heal Nigeria...

God Bless Nigeria.

Politics / Obaseki Vs Ize-iyamu : Primate Ayodele Predicts Winner Of Edo Election by Oshoboy01: 9:13am On Jul 23, 2020
Nigeria’s leading prophet, Primate Elijah Ayodele has revealed the person who will emerge winner of Edo state election which is set to come up in September.

Primate Ayodele revealed that without rigging and manipulation, PDP’s candidate, Governor Obaseki will win the gubernatorial election while APC’s candidate, Ize Iyamu will lose.

He explained that Obaseki needs to be focused and do all the needful things because God wants to fight for him with the gubernatorial election.
He made it known that APC relies on rigging and manipulation and according to what God shows him, anyone who rigs the election will die of Covid-19

‘Without mincing words, this is what the lord said, Obaseki should be focused, do all the needful things, Obaseki will win, not Ize Iyamu , excepts APC rigs and anyone who rigs will die, just as I said Covid-19 will kill those who corrupted Nigeria.
Obaseki shouldn’t be afraid of people leaving him, He just needs to stay focused.

Edo election is more than what anyone can stop, Edo election is for PDP, God wants to fight for Obaseki, I have never met him or collected any kobo from him, if I have, let him come out and disgrace me, I am talking as a Prophet.
I even like Oshiomhole than Obaseki and I don’t pity Obaseki but Oshiomhole will not be the one to give the next governor to the people of Edo state, I’m only saying what the Lord is telling me to say.

Anyone who rigs will die of Covid-19, Obaseki should wake up, He will win without manipulation and rigging’

While speaking on Adams Oshiomhole, the former National chairman of the All progressive congress, he stated that he is shameless because of how events have played out of recent. He said Oshiomhole introduced Obaseki to Edo people as a good man but now he is back to say such person is bad, which is why he shouldn’t be listened to.

‘Oshiomhole isn’t ashamed, he introduced somebody to the people of Edo as a good man now comes back to say he is bad, that means if they believe in his campaign, what Ize iyamu will do will be worse than what he is doing now.
Edo election will be end Oshiomhole’s political career if care isn’t taken’

It would be recalled that Primate Ayodele has been on Edo’s political atmosphere long before the primary election, with several prophecies that have come to pass and served as a direction for politicians in the state.

Business / AMCON Bows To Reality As Dpkay Homes Retains Integrity by Oshoboy01: 7:10pm On Jul 18, 2020
A federal high court sitting in Lagos has set aside an order wrongly executed by Asset Management Corporation Of Nigeria (AMCON) on one of the properties of DPKAY Homes and Property Limited in Sangotedo, Etiosa Local Government, Lagos.

The order, which according to AMCON was to take over 20 hectares of land acquired by DPKAY Homes and Property Limited from Lagos state government, backed up with documents, purchased receipts and letter of allocation from Lagos state.

According to indications in our previous advertorial, AMCON stormed the premises with some men led by one Mr. Lanre Olaoluwa representing Matrix Solicitors, some court sheriffs with some social misfits and Mopol all numbering over 50 men.

All efforts to intervene by officials of DPKAY Homes and Property Limited proved abortive. During the execution, AMCON handed to the General Manager of DPKAY home and property limited a letter written by Barr Lanre Olaoluwa to Engineer Kuti Taofeeq which purportedly has to do the property being taken over.

Furthermore, the legal counsel of DPKAY Homes and Property Limited, Barrister Oluwaseun Alao expounded; a letter was written to AMCON to explain that the execution levied was totally wrong which later informed a motion being filed before his lordship, Honourable Justice Saliu Saidu

“After the execution, we wrote to AMCON that they levied execution on a wrong property, but they refused to get back to us so we filed a motion before his lordship, Hon. Justice Saliu Saidu praying that the earlier Order be discharged, particularly order which has to do with our property though not clearly defined but it has to do with it.’’

He further explained that on a return date, being Wednesday, 15th of July, 2020, the Court in exercising its duty of maintaining fairness between the parties before it set aside relief 1m of the interim Order made by the same Court on the 11th day of June 2020 on several grounds, especially the inability of AMCON’s Counsel to supply sufficient details of the property (no survey plan nor registered Deed attached) in procuring the earlier Order.

“When we filed, we were informed that the return date was Wednesday, 15th Of July, 2020 and I was in Court with the learned silk, Chief Bolaji Ayorinde (SAN). We were in court together and the court agreed with us that the relief prayer of the AMCON’s Counsel on his motion ex parte leading to the Order of 11th day of June, 2020 was drafted bereft of the details required for such ilk of relief and the Court on its own set aside the offensive relief 1m on the face of the said Order.

The legal implication of this is that Dpkay is now allowed to go and take possession back’’

Also, after this development, the Lagos state government has issued a letter to AMCON, authenticating DPKAY Homes and Property Limited ownership of the landed property in question.

However, Barrister Oluwaseun Alao further accused AMCON of not abiding by the court order despite the fact that their Counsel was in court when the order was set aside. He admonished them to order their people to leave immediately, because there is no legal backing of their presence.

“AMCON as a law abiding entity should have recalled their people to leave the site but they still left them there despite the fact that their lawyers were in court during the ruling that the order upon which they took over our property has been set aside and the implication is that AMCON does not have any legal backing to be on that property again.

“The issue before the court isn’t the issue of ownership, federal high court does not determine ownership right, however, the issue before the court is whether or not the execution on DPKAY Property was wrong or not, and the court came to the conclusion that even the Court wouldn’t have made the Order if it was aware that the Counsel to AMCON failed to supply the proper deliberation of the property they sought to take over.

The court has specifically said the order 1(m) of the Order granted on 11th day of June 2020 is set aside. The order of AMCON upon which they took over DPKAY Property has been set aside and as a law abiding entity, they should vacate the premises.’’

A week later, the king featured in his skit to educate people on the need to respect the elders and honour them especially a king.

This is no doubt a huge record for the comedian, hardly would one see a king feature in a comedy skit but Ooni of Ife has shown great humility with this move.

Politics / NDDC : Akpabio Breaks Silence, Refutes Sexual Harassment Allegations by Oshoboy01: 3:19pm On Jul 15, 2020
NDDC Crisis: Akpabio Refutes Corruption, Sexual Harassment Allegations

The Minister of the Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has refuted allegations of corruption, sexual and workplace harassments, pipelines bombings, secret cult activities, abuse of office, amongst others levelled against him by Mrs Joy Nunieh, the former Acting Managing Director of the Interim Management Committee of the Niger Delta Development Commission, (NDDC).

In a statement signed by his media office, Akpabio said his initial attitude to the allegation was to allow his lawyers and the judicial system vindicate him but that he was compelled to react due to the allegation of sexual harassment. “The Honourable Minister did not at any time, place or circumstance make any form of sexual advances to Ms. Nunieh, not even to put himself in a position or posture suggestive of sexual advances towards Ms. Nunieh or any female staff of his Ministry or the NDDC.

“For the records, the Honourable Minister, Senator Godswill Akpabio, CON, is happily married and contented with his wife. Together, they are blessed with children, four (4) of whom are young women. The Honourable Minister is an avid believer of the Affirmative Action and that was visible in the appointments he made as a two-term Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State between 2007 and 2015. Under his watch, he appointed several women into various high-level positions as Chairpersons of Local Government Councils, Magistrates, Judges, Heads of Parastatals, Directors, Permanent Secretaries, and Commissioners.”

The statement posited further that Akpabio has always championed and still champions the cause of women and young children and that he is the first governor in Akwa Ibom State to have a female deputy governor; the first to appoint female Chief Justices of the High Court; recommended women for ministerial appointments one of whom was a Minister of Housing and Urban Development; and supported for an appointment the first female Vice-Chancellor of the only Federal University in the state among others.

As the Governor of Akwa-Ibom State, the statement went on, “Akpabio summoned the political will to stop modern-day slavery where young women and children were ferried away from the state to other states in Nigeria to be used for all sorts of menial chores as housemaids and many suffered unimaginable maltreatments and unethical trade malpractices. He ensured that anyone caught in that trade was severely punished. He signed the Child Rights Law to protect children, especially the girl-child from stigmatization and punishment by ordeal where some were executed or banished on allegation of witchcraft. The Child Rights Law also made primary and secondary education in Akwa Ibom State free and compulsory; educating the girl child was his topmost priority.”

Further, Akpabio wondered why Ms. Nunieh did not report the alleged incident to the police at the earliest opportunity if indeed it was true considering that she left office since February 2020. Thus, Akpabio stated, “Waiting till July 10th and 13th 2020 when the National Assembly appears to be probing some of her actions as the Acting Managing Director of the Interim Management Committee ("IMC"wink exposes her motive, especially at a time when the momentum for the Forensic Audit Investigation of the NDDC is heating up and the truth is about to be unveiled for all to see. The critical question is who is afraid of the Forensic Audit at the NDDC? Who is afraid of the truth? There is no doubt that Ms. Nunieh's attacks are both personal and sponsored. Those afraid of the truth and who wish to bury it from seeing the light of the day are strenuously behind Ms. Nunieh's vicious campaign of calumny.”

According to the statement, Akpabio has a mandate from President Muhammadu Buhari to unearth looting and financial misappropriation that had gone on at the NDDC since inception in 2001. “He is committed to that mandate through the forensic audit of the NDDC and will not be deterred or distracted from that goal. This campaign of calumny aims to simply get Senator Akpabio out, kill the forensic audit and continue business as usual at the NDDC,” read the statement.

On the allegations of his involvement in contract racketeering, the bombing of oil pipelines, corruption/diversion of funds, Akpabio stated that he had declared several times and at various fora that since his assumption of office, he had only awarded three contracts till date; the appointment of the lead forensic auditors which was approved by the Federal Executive Council; the emergency procurement contract for COVID-19 intervention in the Niger Delta Area, which due to its urgency, had his interim and presidential approval in line with the Bureau of Public Procurement Act; and the award of vehicles purchase duly approved by the Bureau of Public Procurement and the Federal Executive Council but which is yet to be consummated.

Reacting to Nunieh’s allegation that he directed her to change the Dollars in the NDDC's account, he said, “It should be noted that NDDC's Account is domiciled with the Central Bank of Nigeria. Every inflow and outflow is known and traceable. The NDDC gets its revenue in Dollars which is paid directly to its Treasury Single Account (TSA) with the CBN. The Dollar is then converted to Naira by the CBN and paid into the NDDC Naira Account still domiciled with the CBN upon a written application from the NDDC. It is, therefore, impossible for any sum of money belonging to the NDDC with the CBN including the several figures bandied around as missing to be missing.”

He stated further that unlike in the past when the NDDC had over three hundred (300) bank accounts in different commercial banks, that practice had since stopped under the Buhari administration, which gave full effect to the application of the Treasury Single Account and the NDDC now has its accounts with the CBN. “The Honourable Minister does not give verbal instructions to anybody; all instructions are in writing and in response to a request from the commission,” read the statement.

Nunieh also alleged that Akpabio directed her to remove Mr. Kaltungo Moljengo from the legal unit and send him on compulsory retirement because he is a northerner. In his response, Akpabio said his track records mark him out as a totally detribalized politician and one of the best friends of Northern Nigeria, stating that he was informed by the NDDC management that over twenty-three (23) top Management Staff from various parts of Nigeria including the Niger Delta region, who have evaded leave in the last ten (10) years or had the tendency to influence negatively the ongoing forensic audit, were recommended for mandatory leave by the lead forensic auditors but they are still a staff of the commission and currently receiving their monthly salaries and benefits.

While encouraging Nigerians to continue to hold their leaders to account, Akpabio urges them to be discerning and dispassionate before making far-reaching allegations, opinions and views. He declared that he has instructed his lawyers to seek necessary redress in a court of competent jurisdiction on his behalf over the defamatory statements made by Ms. Nunieh.

Celebrities / Popular Nigerians Whose Wealth Are Questionable by Oshoboy01: 11:11am On Jul 13, 2020
Money is desired by everyone, most people see money as a means to build their self esteem. Of course, money brings respect and as it is popularly said that money stops nonsense.

However, as much as money is needed in life, the means at which people go to get it is alarming.

In Nigeria today, we have several individuals who are quite popularly with questionable wealth. Their wealth is questionable in the sense that the business they claim to be doing isn’t as lucrative to be giving them so much money, also, the way they flaunt their wealth calls for some investigation.

Below are some of them according to TRIXX NG

In one of the recently concluded BBNaija, he gave a contestant a whooping N1Million. It’s really questionable, except its ‘audio money’ but apart from that, he should be seriously questioned.

Hushpuppi : Raymond Abass alias AKA Hushpuppi is another person whose wealth is questionable. He has been arrested by the FBI for fraud related offence and might probably go to jail if his legal counsel is unable to put up a very strong defence.

Before his arrest, Hushpuppi was very popular On instagram for flaunting wealth. He wears latest designers, buys the latest cars, has celebrity friends too, sleep in expensive hotels and all of that.

Right from time, his wealth has been questionable. According to the police, he defrauded over 1.9 Million people and has also stashed up millions of dollars in Bitcoin as a reservoir for him.

Religion / TB Joshua Prayers Heal Two More PHD Lectures As They Testify by Oshoboy01: 12:40pm On Jul 03, 2020
COVID-19 MIRACLE: TWO PHD LECTURERS TESTIFY TO CORONAVIRUS HEALING THROUGH TB JOSHUA PRAYERS!

The popular Nigerian cleric, T.B. Joshua, has released yet another video showing COVID-19 patients, who both introduced themselves as University Lecturers and PhD holders, claiming to have been healed through prayers on his channel Emmanuel TV.

Drs. Dickson and Courage Ndamsa appeared on the channel via video call bearing medical reports with positive results for COVID-19, the pandemic that has infected more than ten-million throughout the globe resulting in over 500,000 casualties.

Accompanied by their two daughters, the lecturers at the University of Bamenda, Cameroon, explained they were currently “in isolation” and lamented about their symptoms which included difficulty in breathing, debilitating weakness and general pains throughout their body.

“The only reason that will make you to stop doubting is to be able to forgive yourself.” one of T.B. Joshua’s ministers counselled the family of four. “When you forgive yourself, you let go of offence.”

The minister began praying for the couple, making commands in the name of Jesus Christ to which Dr. Courage began to behave peculiarly, shaking her head and twisting her body “uncontrollably”.

“Who gave them this sickness?” the minister shouted. “I gave it to her!” the academician replied, underlying graphics on Emmanuel TV asserting it was an ‘evil spirit’ who was speaking through her.

The minister continued, “Right now, you demon, you are leaving this body with all your incurable afflictions and sicknesses. Come out, in the name of Jesus Christ!”

Dr. Courage dropped to her knees and began vomiting profusely as the minister continually commanded the “demon” to come out before finally declaring her “free”.

Her husband, Dr. Ndamsa and their two young daughters, were equally prayed for and declared free from the deadly virus.

Proceeding the 'interactive prayer’ session, Drs. Dickson and Courage Ndamsa returned days later to the big screen of the Emmanuel TV Studios with new medical reports showing a negative diagnosis for COVID-19.

“Jesus healed us. The miracle is beyond the understanding of man and science.” Dr. Ndamsa, who lectures in Economics, exclaimed, further explaining the whole family went for a medical test the day after their ‘healing’.

He advised large nations around the world to “look beyond science” and “carry God along” in their decisions, plans and actions against the scourge of COVID-19.

Dr. Courage described the ‘interactive prayer session’ as “a wonderful experience”.

“At one point, I felt my hands started shaking. I tried to hold myself but before I knew it, my body was vibrating and that is the only thing I could remember,” she recollected.

Both testified that all symptoms associated with the virus disappeared immediately after the prayers, prompting them to go for medical verification of their healing.

“God has given everyone plenty of evidence to believe in Him. Remember, we treat; God heals. So, let us include God in our decisions. There is no fear, no panic. With God, all things are possible,” TB Joshua commented on his social media handles in response to the ‘miracle’.

News of COVID-19 healings amid T.B. Joshua’s prayer sessions even prompted a response from the World Health Organization (WHO) after they were questioned about the miracle of a medical doctor who admitted Joshua’s prayers cured him.

WHO’s Executive Director of Health Emergencies, Dr. Michael Ryan, expressed readiness of the international health agencies to collaborate with bodies such as The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) to advance the fight against COVID-19 whilst the Director General of WHO Dr. Ghebreyesus added that faith and science should “go together”.

Emmanuel TV’s YouTube videos have been viewed over 600 million times and the channel has nearly 1.7 million subscribers.

Rains Expose Lagos’ Crumbling Roads, Bridges as Sanwo Olu’s Covid Focus Neglects Infrastructure

It is no longer news that Nigeria is still trying to grapple with the effects of COVID 19 which hit the world early on in January and took a hefty toll sometime in February.
A good number of countries like Germany, New Zealand, South Africa have put plans in motion to overcome recession with stimulus packages ranging from Germany’s 160 billion euros to South Africa’s R500 billion and have also accelerated spending’s on infrastructure and the economy as a whole.

Nigeria on its part seems to be focused more on fighting COVID 19 while Infrastructure and Security have been relegated to the background by almost all state governments leaving the economy in dire straits.
Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital for example has recorded impressive results in the fight against COVID-19.
Its Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu of Lagos has however persistently ignored calls to fix dilapidated roads which have now become death traps as the rains fall in full force or likewise check the growing spate of insecurity across the state.

The port city of Apapa continues to experience crushing gridlock with billions of revenue lost monthly by importers and exporters using the port facilities at Apapa and Tin Can ports.
In the case of the roads which are fast becoming death traps to Lagosians with gullies and craters littered around Lagos, former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, stated in the past that the state recorded a whooping loss of N250 billion to traffic annually.
This is besides the pains businesses and families who often spend four or more hours for a 30 minutes’ journey are exposed to daily due to the excruciating traffic jam.

Despite this revelation by the former governor, he did little or nothing to salvage the challenge.
A resident of Lagos, Segun Akanbi, lamented, “the current Governor came in with a lot of promise, performed fairly but has now diverted focus to the fight against COVID 19 to the detriment of other aspects especially roads.”
There is almost no area in the state that is spared of bad roads, but the worst-hit places are: Mile 2, Abule Ado, Alakija, Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway up to Ikeja Along, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Oworosoki- Oshodi Expressway, Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, Ikorodu Road, Lagos-Badagry Expressway, Funsho-Wiliams Avenue, by Costain area, which has been closed to traffic for construction work on the Costain bridge.
Others are: Kirikiri Road, Apapa, which has worsened traffic gridlock caused by truck operators who have taken over the road leaving little or no space for other road users. Satellite Town Road, Oriade LCDA, Otto-Wharf Bandary Road, Ajegunle, In Ajeromi- Ifekodun LGA. Chivita-Canoe Road, Oshodi-Isolo LGA, Isheri-Osun, LCDA, Ishawo, Road, Idimu Pipeline, Ikorodu, among others.

These days, it is a dreadful experience for commuters and motorists to navigate through Lagos-Badagry Expressway. Plying the international road has been hectic due to several failed portions on both sides of the highway, worsened by persistent rainfall which has forced motorists to spend valuable hours maneuvering the road.
In the case of the Ports, stakeholders and residents also continue to appeal to both state and the Federal Govt that a lasting solution be found to solve the gridlock and the infrastructure decay on the Apapa port and Tin Can Island access road to no avail.
President, Muhammadu’s Buhari, gave an ultimatum that made no impact as it is still business as usual with a lot of loss to Nigeria, stakeholders and residents.

Even the visit of Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo brought no respite.
A recent study indicates that at least three of every ten years spent in Lagos is lost to traffic. It means Lagosians spend an average of seven hours 20 minutes in traffic every day.

An economic analyst, Kolapo Oluwo averred that the long hours spent daily in traffic with its attendant economic as well as health, emotional and relational costs is colossal.
“For a potential megacity and the economic hub of the country it shows the incapacity and lack of visionary leadership, despite media campaigns and allusions to the contrary.”

He noted that: “Lagos is the commercial, economic, as well as financial capital of Nigeria accounting for over 50 percent of the industrial and commercial establishments, as well as 70 percent of manufacturing activities. In addition, it has the most active stock exchange in West Africa; its four ports collectively handle about 75 and 90 percent of the country’s imports and non-oil exports by weight respectively. Even more, its international airport handles about 80 percent of airborne exports and imports and 80 percent of passenger movements in and out of the country.”
Oluwo Further said, “the state’s population has continued to grow rapidly – put at between six to eight percent per annum – and is a dragnet for school leavers and other economic migrants from other parts of the country. It is projected that the population of the city will grow to 36 million by 2050.”

A public Analyst, Emeka Ohanyere buttressed this saying despite its huge population and importance, road is the city’s most common and available means of transport. Rail and water transportation are meanwhile relatively under-developed in Lagos.

“Years of military rule, underinvestment and poor maintenance of existing transport infrastructure has seen Lagos lag behind other major global cities in the utilisation of efficient public transportation system such as urban rail system and modern high capacity buses.”
As at 2006, it was estimated that the city’s transport infrastructure and services were at levels that supported a population of six million.

In 2006, the government developed a transport master plan to integrate road, water, rail, and cable-car transport to provide one of the most efficient systems of transportation in a megacity.
Shortly after, in 2008, the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) was launched as a stop-gap measure while seven train lines were planned to link all parts of the states and even Ogun state with light rail.

However, due to paucity of funds, only the contract for the blue line (the 27-kilometre Badagry line running from Okokomaiko to Marina via Iddo) was awarded at the colossal cost of $1.2 billion (compared to similar projects in other parts of Africa awarded for just a fraction of that amount) to be completed in 2011.
It was projected others will be awarded subsequently and the entire master plan will be completed in 2020.

Analysts have however argued that as governments grapple with the health care challenges associated with the Covid-19 pandemic, the economic toll must also be considered.

Economist, Muyiwa Akintemi says this is a central question that should preoccupy the government as rescue packages amounting to trillions of dollars are announced around the world.

“One critical step government can take is to earmark part of the stimulus spending for infrastructure. During a crisis of near unprecedented scale, paying people’s wages, supporting the most vulnerable and keeping businesses afloat are important priorities in the immediate term. But these measures alone will not bring long-lasting results. By contrast, investment in new infrastructure, such as hospitals, schools, renewable energy and digital networks, will create jobs and deliver tangible assets that will fuel long-term economic growth.

“We have seen in the past; infrastructure spending is one of the key levers that government can pull to stimulate the economy. Spending on concrete and steel, when well directed, boosts both short-term demand and long-term productivity, especially in a time of economic crisis. According to a 2014 study by the IMF, an increase in capital spending of 1.0% of GDP leads to a 0.4% uplift in output that same year, and a 1.5% rise four years later.”

He noted that this economic dividend occurs because building new infrastructure lays the groundwork for future economic growth, whether that’s an
improved transport network to move goods, a digital backbone to power a new economy or education facilities to train a skilled workforce for the future.

“Moreover, countries that spend on new capital stock tend to attract more private investment – as we have seen time and again, the availability of reliable underlying infrastructure boosts productive capacity and enables sustained economic activity,” Akintemi concluded.

Religion / WHO Reacts To TB Joshua's 'miraculous Healing' Of Covid-19 by Oshoboy01: 9:01am On Jul 02, 2020
WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION COMMENTS ON MEDICAL DOCTOR’S HEALING OF COVID-19 THROUGH PRAYERS OF TB JOSHUA

The World Health Organization (WHO) has spoken out after a video surfaced this week of a medical doctor who testified to receiving healing from COVID-19 after receiving prayers from Nigerian Pastor TB Joshua.

During an interactive press briefing organized on Wednesday 1st July 2020, a panel of top WHO officials was questioned on the miracle by Cameroonian journalist Simon Ateba of Today News Africa.

“On Monday, a very popular pastor in Nigeria, T.B Joshua, released a video of a medical doctor in Cameroon who was said to have been cured of the virus through prayer,” Ateba stated, asking the panellists for their reaction.

In the video he referenced, Dr Kameni Pierre - a gynecologist and obstetrician - receives prayer after affirming he was positive to coronavirus during an ‘Interactive Prayer Session’ organised by Emmanuel TV.

After ‘vomiting out’ the disease during prayer, the medical doctor held up his medical report days later confirming he was diagnosed negative to COVID-19.

In response, Dr Michael Ryan, the Executive Director of WHO Health Emergencies Programme, affirmed the readiness of WHO to collaborate with bodies like The SCOAN to advance the cause of the war against the deadly virus.

“Certainly, spiritual leadership is very important in times like this,” Ryan stated, praising the role of faith-based organisations in providing accurate information to communities.

Speaking further, the WHO Director General, Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus added that faith and science should “go together”.

“We know many religious leaders who would really advise their followers to follow their faith and at the same time use science. The two do not contradict; they go together… We will call on all religious leaders to be in this fight and save lives,” he stated.

Ghebreyesus had earlier echoed TB Joshua’s prophecy where he declared 2020 “the year of humility” in which “God would humble us with our challenges”.

“If this virus is teaching us anything, it is humility,” the former Ethiopian Minister of Health asserted.

Emmanuel TV’s popular YouTube videos, many of which show similar case of miraculous healing through prayer, have accumulated over six hundred million views.

Politics / Tinubu : Tribute to A Great Man: Ajimobi by Oshoboy01: 9:22pm On Jun 25, 2020
‘I Had Hoped That We Could Achieve More Together’ – Tinubu To Ajimobi

The national leader of the All Progressive Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has paid tribute to the former governor of Oyo state, Abiola Ajimobi who died earlier today as a result of Covid-19 complications.

We Shall Always Remember You Former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, passed away today. With his departure, Nigeria has lost an outstanding statesman and one of its most able politicians.

Our party, the All Progressives Congress, has lost one of its leading lights. The Yoruba race and Oyo State have lost a favourite son. I have lost a dedicated friend, brother and ally.

The pain we feel at his passing is beyond what words can describe. This good and excellent man has left us but his energy, activism and commitment to Nigeria and its people shall always be with us.

He was reputed to be the best and most productive governor Oyo State has had. In this assessment, I concur as do so many others. The numerous infrastructural and public works projects he initiated literally changed the face of Oyo for the better.

His legacy as a governor will be an enduring and positive one. The first governor to serve two consecutive terms in Oyo, he broke a political jinx that many said could not be broken.

The people of Oyo were wise and very well served to have elected him their governor for eight years. I also shall always remember and hold dear the vital contributions he made to the establishment of our party and how he worked with great commitment and sagacity to enshrine progressive governance in the party, Oyo and Nigeria itself

His recent emergence as Deputy National Chairman of our party was in affirmation of his many years of service and devotion to the pursuit of democratic governance. The history of the APC cannot be squarely written without him.

Ajimobi was my friend and brother. He was honest and forthright. He had the interest of the people at heart. We shared a common progressive vision for our country and how to bring prosperity, justice and hope to its people.

I had hoped that we could achieve more together but the ultimate wisdom and all our fates rest in the hands of Almighty Allah who knows best
At his core, Senator Ajimobi was a family man. He was a loving husband and father. My heart grieves for his wife, Florence, and their children. May they find the comfort that only Almighty Allah can provide at this moment.

Ajimobi’s death hurts. Yet, we must all find strength in the good way he lived his life and in the fine and good ideals for which he fought. We must carry on with the important task ahead because that is what my dear friend and brother would expect of us.
My prayer is that the Munificent Allah shower mercy upon him, reward his good deeds, and admit him to Aljanna Firdaus.

Politics / He Is A Shining Star: Lagos Speaker Obasa Congratulates Gbajabiamila @58 by Oshoboy01: 4:13pm On Jun 25, 2020
The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Dr) Mudashiru Obasa, on Thursday described the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, as a shining star, whose positive impact on Nigeria is being felt across nations.

Obasa, in a congratulatory statement to celebrate Gbajabiamila, who clocked 58, said there could not have been a better time for the Speaker of the House of Representatives to serve Nigeria other than now when his experience in legislative practice has put the country in the right stead.

Thanking him for his support and roles in the advancement of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Obasa noted that Gbajabiamila’s political journey is a perfect example of what loyalty should be.

“On many fronts, Gbajabiamila has proven to be in tune with the challenges facing Nigeria. He seems to have solutions and ideas at the tip of his finger.

“Despite being the fourth citizen of the country, Gbajabiamila has never forgotten his roots. He constantly reaches out to his constituents and gives them feedbacks on government policies and steps,” Obasa, who chairs the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria, said.

He also noted that under Gbajabiamila’s leadership of the House, activities of the lower legislative chamber have been more open to Nigerians.

“On behalf of all the Speakers of state Houses of Assembly in Nigeria, I congratulate you on your birthday just as I thank you too for your role in ensuring that the legislative arm of the Federal Government remains thick.

“I also join every Lagosian, your constituents and our party in wishing you all the best in the days ahead. Continue to walk with your head high,” Obasa said.
