While I agree that that removing Ribadu now is not the right thing to do, I think their should be room for training and development amongst the file and rank of the police especially the Junior officers. Although we all know thats not motive of Okiro and his cronies.

But I think the fight against corruption is still far from being successful not because EFCC is not effective or one-sided but because the JAIL TERMS ARE FAR TOO MILD.

LETS FACE IT, WHO WON'T STEAL 13BILLION FOR SIX MONTHS JAIL TERM ( I WILL DO THE SAME AND JUST ABOUT EVERYBODY ELSE).

WE NEED TO APPLY SERIOUSLY PUNISHMENTS OR EVEN CAPITAL PUNISHMENTS TO DETER CORRUPT POLITICIANS. TAKE FOR EXAMPLE THE FATE OF THE DIRECTOR OF FOOD AND DRUGS IN CHINA WHO WAS HANGED OVER A FEW MILLION DOLLARS BRIBE HE TOOK. DEFINITELY THE NEW DIRECTOR WILL THINK DEEPLY BEFORE ACCEPTING BRIBES.

BUT THE CASE WHERE POLITICIANS STEAL HUGE SUMS OF MONEY AND GO TO JAIL FOR A FEW MONTHS WILL ONLY SERVE TO MOTIVATE UPCOMING ROGUES ( LIKE IYABO OBASANJO AND HER LIKES).

EVEN IF MALLAM RIBADU IS RETAINED AS EFFC CHAIRMAN AND ROGUES GET AWAY WITH LIGHT SENTENCES, THEN CORRUPTION WILL CONTINUE.

I think you should commit sucide or go on exile, so you can save yourself, your family name (imagine how ur mother and father will feel), your HUSBAND (who am sure will kill you and his brother if he ever finds out), your husbands family ( the family will never be the same again if the truth is known) and last but not the least

can u imagine how ashamed your KIDS wil be if this comes to the light of day,

I'll apprecaite this ruling if the members of the house will receive their salaries and allownaces in cowries, and also accept to walk to the house of assembly as done in the old oyo.
Also they will swear by sango, so there will be instant judgements if they embezzle funds.

This issue is basically a case of greed on the part of the chick and slacking on the part of the supposed male best friend. as some smart guys and girls have posted earlier, some one wants to shag but does not know how to say it. If the guy has a GF of his own, would he still allow his she-bestfriend to spend the nite in his house?
and for the chick, she wants to eat her cake and have it (and this is becoming very common amongst our ladies) how can u have a BF that cares, luvs,and gives you all the attention, still u have a supposed male best friend to run errands for u as well, na wa o!!!! can u allow ur BF have a she-best friend in his house all nite as well?? the answer is NO ( all ladies will agree to that  . so do not offer wat u can't accept.

The list of politicians and government officials who should hang their heads in shame when disasters like this occur is endless-OBJ, IBB, etc and even the most recent ones like Etteh et all, for a the self accalimed giant of africa this is a disgrace but unfortunately our leaders rate their achievements by checking the amount of stolen funds stashed away in foreign, also private moguls like Dangote, zenon oil and all the other oil and gas millionaires who make money out of chaos should be ashamed. at this stage of development of our great country, who should have funtional refinerys at every geo-political zone of the country to ensure adequate supply of petroleum products and this will also reduce if not totally reduce tankers on our inter-state roads, also apapa wharf is the only seaport in the world with funtional rails to move bulk cargo, and thats why we have trailers everywhere in lagos, its a big shame becos all our so-called big men have travelled to the western world to see how things work but they will never implement it here at home. Such accidents and disasters can be avoided all together where there is will to make things work, but unfortunately the will is not just there. and that applies to all levels of government.

Am sure even the white house does not need N628 million to renovate, but given the usual naija way i.e. no honour, no integrity, madam speaker will fight to the last and if she survies she will throw a thanksgiving party, like Gov. the major problem with naija guys and ladies out there is that they get too artificial thus they can not relate. Since everyone knows where they are coming from they would rather hang out with peeps who don't know the real naija levels, the chicks are especially guilty of this. you need to go to Unilag and hear the chicks speak (most have not even been to the airports and such chicks stay in mushin environs), also check corporate naija the chicks speaks grammar pass whites, so what do u expect when dey go out there, some guys are also guilty (fake guys pls), so when the fake naija boy meets a forming naija naija babe how do u expect them to work out,
