It was disastrous over the weekend as the whole security operatives in Imo state stormed Mgbidi to destroy all kidnappers’ buildings. 6 buildings in totality were destroyed and the kidnappers are all in police custody.

These Kidnappers have reportedly been terrorizing different parts of Imo State. It is said that when they kidnap their victim,they eliminate him or her after collecting a reasonable amount of money from their family or friends as ransom.

President Muhammadu Buhari Friday in Abuja said he made his intention to contest the 2019 Presidential Elections known early in order to douse rising speculations and give the party, All Progressives Congress (APC), enough time to prepare for the polls.

President Buhari, who received members of the Buhari Support Group Centre (BSGC) at the State House, said he noticed that speculations were already constituting distraction to governance and stirring tensions, so he had to declare during the National Executive Committee meeting of the party.

“I had to announce before the National Executive Committee of our party about my intention to ask for the party’s nomination for next year’s election so that we can save a lot of time and cool tempers.

“A lot people were trying to make it a habit of being a nuisance to themselves and many Nigerians, so when I came out I said those who are serious let them come out.

“And I tried to make sure that the party is organized and consolidated so that we start from the bottom to the top, and that Nigerians will be involved in a way that each constituency will pick those that are going to represent them at various levels, whether as Local Government chairmen, in the State Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate and finally the president,’’ he said.

The President said early declaration guaranteed more participation and inclusivity within the party, and further strengthened the bond with supporters and Nigerians.

“Some of the people thought to be uneducated and unsophisticated are very educated and sophisticated during elections; for those who have money to give they say bring the money we will still do what we want to do,’’ he added.

President Buhari noted that God’s divine intervention and the use of technology during the 2015 elections exposed the weakness of previous processes where a privileged few sat and allocated figures to constituencies during elections.

“They just sit and look at a constituency and they award the numbers, then they say anybody who disagrees should go to court; now for somebody who is looking for the next meal where does he get money to pay Senior Advocates of Nigeria?

“Thank God for technology, with the PVC you know where you registered and it can be shown whether you voted or not,’’ the President said.

He advised Nigerians to get their voters card for the 2019 elections, and ensure that they vote to please their conscience with pride as citizens.

The President commended the BSGC for all the sacrifice and steadfastness in championing his candidacy.

“I thank you very much for the sacrifice you have been making. I am happy to use this opportunity to meet you and thank you for the sacrifices and steadfastness. I don’t think I can thank you enough because by identifying yourself as a group for all these years and getting nothing for it visibly I think its worthy of commendation,’’ he said.

In his remarks, the Coordinator of the BSGC, Umaru Dembo, said “through thick and thin, rain or sun shine, hot or cold we are here to assure Mr President that since 2014 we have been working, expanding and helping to explain the new life that your government has ushered in for the good people of Nigeria.’’

He said the BSGC had initiated the documentation of the President’s achievements in a book authored by Dr Sani Muktar Bichi and himself.

Dembo assured the President of a bottom-up process of mobilising more supporters for the administration, while appreciating him for reversing the trend of impunity, corruption and lawlessness that reigned before 2015.

Dembo said the BSGC was an umbrella organisation encompassing “Women for Buhari and Osinbajo’’, “A Kasaa Tsare’’, “Northern Youth Assembly,” “Buhari Renewal mandate’’ and others in support of good governance in Nigeria.

For the Second time in one week, Chief Victor Umeh, a dormant member of the Senate has attacked Governor Rochas Okorocha in the media, calling the governor all sorts of names and unprovoked too.
In the latest attack, he called Governor Okorocha a trickster and also threatened to expose him.

Our quick response goes this way; If there is anybody whose life story is zigzag, it is Chief Victor Umeh. The life story of Governor Okorocha is a straight forward one right from Jos Plateau State uptil now. He has never been associated with any shady deal. And his business life and his Political life Stories can be smoothly narrated without any gap and are also known by most Nigerians.

But Chief Umeh cannot make a similar claim. Let him publish his profile and let Governor Okorocha publish his own profile and let’s see whose story will be disjointed, and who is nobody until APGA came on board.
Governor Okorocha by all consideration, has succeeded as a governor following his monumental achievements in Imo, but Chief Umeh has failed as a Senator because he lacks all the capacities to fit into the Senate.

Chief Umeh did his Youth Service in 1985 in Port-Harcourt and he should tell the world his story between that 1985 and 2002 when he joined APGA. Let him tell his story and let that of Okorocha be told side by side.

He threatened to expose Okorocha. He has continued to make that threat since 2014 when Governor Okorocha left APGA to join the Merger that gave birth to APC. Chief Umeh should carry out his threat now or cover his face in shame. Who does not know the story of Rochas Okorocha in this Country, including his business, politics and so on.

Chief Umeh will continue to insult Superior people all in the name of APGA. Chief Umeh’s APGA could not produce even a Councillor in any other South-East State except Anambra which Ikemba Ojukwu made possible until Rochas came and broke the jinx. And you may ask; is Imo the only State in the South-East? Why can’t Chief Umeh produce another governor in the South-East?

The man is a noise maker. But he has failed to talk in the Senate because in the Senate you don’t talk thrash. Men like Umeh have never made any positive contribution to the society or to Igboland but noise making and they find it difficult to acknowledge those making the society to move forward.

Let Chief Umeh publish his profile and let Rochas publish his own profile same day and let’s see who has questions to answer following the loopholes therein.

Once again, Umeh should face his Challenges in the Senate and help himself by engaging a Consultant and stop easing his frustration on Rochas Okorocha.

Every epoch of human existence produces its own unique sets of Legends and their array of uncommon accomplishments. Regrettably, there is no legend without a scar emanating either from the bruises of physical assaults or meta narratives; in extreme cases, both interplay to subdue their sterling records for reasons not so unconnected with deliberate mischief by human folks, disappointingly so, folks from the household of Legends.

Chief Idiga Felix is one of the Legends of this epoch with his own fair share of reckless scars. The Amaifeke business mogul and philanthropist have erroneously been a subject of unfounded news reports, chief amongst them being the unsubstantiated $9.3million dollars arms deal scandal. While I reckon that "all is fair in love and war", I also believe that life is governed by basic principles and these principles must of necessity shape our social and political relations with each other. The media as a very sensitive institution, must not let loose of its enduring etiquette by ensuring a balance of stories before hitting the press. Most of the damaging stories on Chief Felix Idiga's involvement in the spurious arms deal lack depth and are laced with mudslinging than objective reportage. The thousands of persons whose smile remain the utmost concern of Chief Felix Idiga are his driving force, not even the blackmail and vandetta missions of a few millers of vile have vitiated his resolve to better the lot of humanity.

I am persuaded that lies are not only fickle but also self destructive. Those who peddle it may not understand this. However, they cannot be immuned from its dire consequences, because karma is indeed out there. Chief Felix Idiga against the admonition of rabblerausers has shunned every entreaty to initiate legal actions against these "pay-as-you-go" online publishers running this calumny against his hard earned personality.
