BusinessRe: GTBank Customer Humiliation by Osoldier: 12:48pm On Oct 15, 2013
Benard94: I was at the GT Bank today (OAU, ILE-IFE branch) to deposit a sum of money. I went with a private bike to the bank. It has been continually emphasized that public bikes are not allowed at the bank’s car park (although no symbolic indication there). On this day, I was about parking this bike of mine on the slab as I use to do. Apart, I met another bike on this same slab and I have once being told by a security man that private bikes are allowed on the slab. One of the bank security men approached with harsh and commanding tone, “get out! Don’t park there! Leave there now!” Being in a hurry to deposit the money as my friend is waiting to cash it in Lagos; I didn’t utter a word, parked and entered the bank for the transaction. On coming out of the bank, I discovered this particular GT bank security man has contacted the school security (OAU) to take away the bike on the ground of arguing with him.
After discovering this, I went back to the bank to report the case to the branch manager. He asked me to wait and kept calling the security man to come in for about two times. When I discovered this man didn’t regard the manager, I told the manager I don’t have all day. He replied “don’t you see I have called him to come? If you can’t wait, go and meet him yourself or do what you like”. I was highly bewildered; the manager has no grip over his security man. This bike was confiscated and I have to trek some km back to my house today. This is a bank with which I have accounts in naira and hard currencies. What should I do? PLS ADVICE
You are @ fault. motor bike was ban and you still have the mind to ride on bike and even parck on the wrong place.
two, why do you have dollar account, how many americans have naira acct. We cant simpathize with you go and cure you error
Go and inspect what others said first before you ascribe guilt for any wrongdoing. Posters who are polite deserve and get nothing but politeness in return from me. The opposite will also apply. Let me give you an example. Look at the first response of the character called Promhize to what I wrote on the first page :

Should I be polite to someone who calls me the above? What do you want my response to be? I am always amazed you guys cannot ever be fair to all involved and only pick and choose who is "insulting" others. Next time look properly, as a fair person would do, to note those showing lack of "home training".
Sorr I am picking on though, what I feel is that this medium is a channel whereby we educate ourslf constructively, to me I have learned alot on this channel is not everything know. democracy is gov of critics that we should all know. my advise is we should be polite and kind to each other here and educate oursf, these our leaders are bad they never mean well for us nigeria therefore shouldnt take side with them. thanks
Too many factors buddy and this is why we should not sit here like fraudulent illiterates, including a so-called "medical Doctor", disgracing Nigeria with utterances that would even shame the worst laymen.

(1)Equipment supply and installation cost (i.e sourcing component parts from the USA rather than the UK may increase transport cost to site.)
(2)Fuel type obviously affecting choice and quantity of equipment required.
(3)Cost of getting fuel to the plant i.e distance covered.
(4)Economies of scale.
(5)Sites costs (direct purchase, compensation, lease plan, etc).
(6)provision for waste disposal.
(7)Structural and civil cost.
(8 ) Indirect costs.
Etc, etc, etc, etc.

Point being that we should not make uninformed assumption , especially when not power generation experts or Engineers, to then ignorantly and arbitrarily say what is "high" or "acceptable" based on anything other than a solid breakdown of cost. Involving sentiments and simplistic reasoning to infer all IPPs must have a standard cost per MW is one of the the most senseless thing I have ever heard.

It is not the sort of argument any educated person should make. Ultimately, the point is that the Lagos and Bauchi IPP both fall within what is accepted today as justifiable per MW cost for power generation. Anyone seeking to claim impropriety should endeavour to do so with more than uniformed, ignorantly pedestrian and sentimental reasoning.
Gbawe or what ever you call yourself, why insult? it show that you lack proper home training, at every slightest argument you most chip in insult haba is not good now. be mature in your argument and stop insulting ppl here just advise ooo

Winneygirl: Hello,
There's a missing link to this story.
The fact that you were pre-registered for mobile money doesnt mean that the money disappeared through this platform.
.
Have you requested for your account statement?
Was it just one debit of the entire amount or it was in multiples?
What is the narration for the debit(s)?
A close scrutiny of your account should tell how the money left.
Web purchase, POS, cheque encashment, ATM, or bank induced.
.
Otherwise, your complaint on this forum is incomplete.
Read the story now, are you not educated? why asking silly question already post on the story?
BusinessRe: I Lost N4M On First City Monument Bank Mobile Banking by Osoldier: 7:28pm On Oct 01, 2013
puskin: I want to assume that this transaction happened last year as we are yet to enter the month of October in 2013.
Hmmmmm, and you want me to believe that you waited all this while before telling this story.........abi 4million nah beans to you. undecided undecided

Anyways, the fact that this story evokes compassion, I find it very very very HARD to believe.

There is no mobile app owned by any bank that will allow you to transfer that said amount within that time duration.
Reason: Anything, money transfer has a limit. A mobile app's maximum transfer is not more than 500k per day, while that of Internet banking is usually not more than 5million per day.

So going with the duration of when it happened, you would need a total of about 8days to withdraw those funds from your account using mobile banking, meaning 8 transactions, 8withdrawals, 8alerts..........so you saw alerts entering your phone and you didn't do anything. Oooooh, I forgot, you don't receive alerts.

FYI:
4th October, 2012 is a Thursday.......meaning, you could go report to the bank on Friday after the first alert, you would lose only 500k.
4th October, 2011 is a Tuesday........meaning, you could go report to the bank on Wednesday after the first alert, you would lose only 500k
4th October, 2010 is a Monday.........meaning, you could go report to the bank on Tuesday after the first alert, you would lose only 500k
4th October, 2009 is a Sunday..........meaning, you could go report to the bank on Monday after the first alert, you would lose only 500k
4th October, 2008 is a Saturday........meaning, you could go report to the bank on Monday after the second alert, you would lose only 1million.

So, after all these, should I still believe you?? undecided undecided
Read the story and stop be stupid, see below duration of debit.

I told my account officer, one mr. Adekoya that i did not ask for the mobile banking and i don't want it. He agreed to delete it.
But the next week, this same product was used to debit my account of 4,001,700 between 4th to 7th of October the same period

PoliticsThe Rivers State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, On Saturday Raised The Alarm Over by Osoldier(op): 3:43pm On Sep 29, 2013
The Rivers State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, on Saturday raised the alarm over his safety and pleaded with President Goodluck Jonathan, to ensure that he is not killed.

Amaechi said this in an interview with Sahara TV, which was monitored by one of our correspondents.

The governor, who narrated his ordeal in hands of the police and aviation authorities since he fell out with the President, said he felt unsafe.

“I don’t have an aide de camp. I don’t have a chief security officer. They’ve withdrawn so many policemen. They’ve withdrawn all policemen from the commissioners. I feel unsafe. I just know that they want to kill me. Beg Mr. President to ensure that I’m not killed because I’m sure they are planning towards that.”

Amaechi also accused his political opponents, including the Minister of State for Education, Mr. Nyesom Wike, and the President’s wife, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, of using the police to intimidate him and the people of the state.

He said, “It is not just Wike that is controlling (the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Joseph) Mbu. It is not just Mrs. Patience Jonathan that is controlling Mbu. There are some people on the street controlling him.

“They are doing two things under the watch of Mr. President and the Inspector-General of Police. They are trying to intimidate the Rivers society so that they can rig elections. And they are trying to intimidate me and expose me to danger.”

Amaechi also accused the National Aviation Management Authority of monitoring his movement and deliberately delaying his flights.

He described the level of impunity under Jonathan as worse than what Nigeria experienced under late General Sani Abacha.

Amaechi said the Nigeria Governor’s Forum crisis would be resolved at the end of the 2015 election, adding that there would have been peace in Nigeria had the President not interfered in the forum’s election.

He told his interviewer that President Jonathan confirmed his involvement in the NGF election at the last meeting the rebel governors had with him.

“While Akpabio was denying it, I reminded him that the President confirmed to me that he participated. Jonathan said he canvassed support for Governor Shema and that he called governors and showed them a video recording of my speech on the oil well that was taken from Soku to Balyesa, and he therefore told them that if I won, he would never work with me,” he said.

He said the possibility of peace between him and the first family was left in the hands of the President and God.

“If the President wants peace, I will be available. And it should not be the type of peace that we had in 2011, that was because of the election,” he said.

In a swift response, the Presidency described Amaechi as a drowning man, whose intention was to pitch the President and Nigerians.

Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Ahmed Gulak, told SUNDAY PUNCH that Amaechi, by his utterances, did not have respect for the office of the President and by extension, the sovereignty of Nigeria.

Gulak said, “Amaechi is a drowning man whose plan is just to pitch the President against the people of Rivers State but people of the state know better and they have turned against him (the governor).

“On his claim that the President is after his life, Amaechi himself knows that President Jonathan is a peace-loving man who cannot hurt a fly. On the contrary, maybe he is the one planning that against the President. He should stop pitching people against the President. Nigerians know the President that he is a gentleman.”

PoliticsGej Is Weak And Disgrace To Ijaw By Asari Dokubo by Osoldier(op):
Former militant and national leader of the now rested Niger Delta Peoples Volunteers Force, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari has described President Goodluck Jonathan as a disappointment to the Ijaw nation, saying that he’s weak and unassertive as a leader.

Dokubo-Asari stated this while reacting to the ongoing power tussle in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The former militant lamented that Jonathan could not take bold and courageous steps to handle the situation like a true Ijaw man who is famous for boldness and exceptional courage.

He told National Mirror that the President should be guided by an Ijaw famous saying, “Ama Doko Doko Biokpo,” which he interpreted to mean “small, small towns but they are very courageous and keep hope alive.”

Asari-Dokubo said he was still unhappy over what he termed “poor response” to the crisis rocking the ruling party by the Presidency.

He thus advised Jonathan to emulate former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, who confronted and dealt with the rebels in the party during his tenure.

He asked Jonathan to stop further peace talks and negotiation with persons like Obasanjo and former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar.

He said, “Jonathan is disgracing the Ijaw people and people of the South-South by negotiating with these dissidents. I am terribly annoyed by the way he is handling this issue, he is a disgrace. If he cannot withstand them, he should tell us because there is no basis for negotiation.

“This is the time for Jonathan to act like an Ijaw man and he should stop disgracing us.

“Jonathan should hit them and he should tell us if he cannot hit them so that we can help him to hit them mercilessly. I have the potential to hit them hard. It is on record that I once held Nigeria hostage and Nigeria could not produce oil for 48 hours and my activities forced the prices of crude oil globally to rise by $30 one day. It was unprecedented and I can repeat it.

“The plot against Jonathan will surely fail, but the President should be decisive with these people once and for all. Jonathan should assert himself as the President and put these people where they should be. Obasanjo, who is leading these people did two terms and he plotted a third term.

“There should be no negotiation with dissidents. It should be total war, no retreat, no surrender and let us see who will run first. There is time for peace and there is time for war. This is the time to go to war.

“Jonathan should know that this is the time for war and if he cannot sustain the war, we will help him to sustain it. How many governors attempted to frustrate Obasanjo? Ibori and others were united behind Atiku Abubakar to frustrate Obasanjo and they failed because Obasanjo was strong, assertive, decisive and courageous.

“Jonathan should be strong to deal with them but whether he is strong or not, we are ready to support and stand by him. It is not a one-man battle but a total war and they must be totally vanquished.”

Meanwhile, Asari-Dokubo has called on Jonathan to hand over the Rivers State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, to the ex-fighters in the Niger Delta for a decisive action.

On Amaechi, he said, “Let the security men step aside and let us see how Amaechi can come to Rivers State. Amaechi should not be protected because he has betrayed the collective interest of the Niger Delta.

“Jonathan should be decisive and look at the other way and allow us to stand on the streets for 24 hours and we will see whether this madness by Amaechi will not end
According to reports, the couple (pictured above) were forced to walk naked on Thursday 19th September at Orokam, Obadigbo Local Government area of Benue State.

The woman is said to be the wife of a popular school proprietor in the area -the porpietor passed on Tuesday and barely two days after she was caught with another man.

After being caught, they were taken to the town’s oracle – oracle called “ALEKWU” which punishes married women who cheat on their husbands and also deters people from committing atrocities.

To punish the couple, the oracle instructed that them to walk the town naked to cleanse the land; after which the woman was sent back to her father’s house and banned from attending her husband’s funeral.

The South East Forum (SEF) yesterday advocated a Southeast presidency in 2015.

It insisted that the only credible group that should talk of producing the next president is the Southeast people.

In a statement in Abuja yesterday by its Chairman, Louis Olube, the group said it would be a waste of time for anybody or group outside the Southeast to dream of producing the next president.

Olube said it was only the Igbo that have not got their share in the affairs of the country, including leadership position.

He said over the years all the Southeast got from successive administrations were nothing but promises.

“We the Igbo insist that come 2015, we must produce the next president because as one of the largest group in Nigeria, we are yet to have that sense of belonging.

“The time is now for the Southeast to produce the next president because already we are aware that there are moves for the presidency to move to other parts other than the Southeast after Jonathan.

“We will not allow it as our people are being sensitised not to vote for any party that fails to present an Igbo as its candidate in 2015,” he stated.

Plan will fail, say speaker’s supporters

THERE are plans to remove House of Representatives Speaker Aminu Tambuwal, source source said yesterday. The Presidency believes the House has been infiltrated by the G -7 governors and the Kawu Baraje faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
It has launched a counter -move to remove Tambuwal and other principal officers, The Nation learnt.
The Presidency stepped in following alleged moves to sack the House Leader, Mrs. Mulikat Adeola, who is pro - President Goodluck Jonathan.
Also, as part of the plot, the Bamanga Tukur- led PDP National Working Committee (NWC) yesterday called off its proposed meeting with the Speaker and the PDP caucus in
the House at the last minute.

Goodluck want to leave being the presedent.
According to sources, the Presidency was uncomfortable with the alleged romance between the Speaker and the G -7 governors/ Kawu Baraje faction.
It was gathered that the Presidency suspected that the G- 7 and the Kawu Baraje faction planned to join forces with the opposition to reduce PDP into the minority party in the House. It was learnt that the Presidency is acting on security
reports on covert plan by the House to impeach President Goodluck Jonathan or make governance difficult for him because of the 2015 election.

Christianity EtcRe: Do We Go Straight To Heaven After Death, Or After The Resurrection? by Osoldier: 5:27pm On Sep 17, 2013
belabela: There is nothing symbolic about what Jesus said there just a truth. Consider carefully the sentence " there is a certain man named Lazarus" is just like saying "there is a certain man named Seun Osewa smiley". When Jesus gave illustration you hear sentences such as "there is a certain King who had two servants" Jesus even went on to talk about Abraham.... he was narrating was happened.

You also seem to confuse Hades ( where you have hell and paradise) with heaven (where God dwells). I have consistently mention on nairaland that there are only three men (Enoch, Elijah and Jesus) said to have ascended to heaven and arguably four (Enoch, Elijah, Moses and Jesus). Even at that other theologians argued that only Jesus has ever been to heaven. They claim that transfiguration is a vision of a future occurrence and that Enoch must have died since Hebrews 11;13 says "These all died in faith, not having received the promises,". Historical records are also used to prove that Elijah was only transported to another location just like Philip. Whatever is the case, heaven is the throne of God and the souls of the dead do not go there.

please, can you xeplain the part that say in my father house dere are many mansion, have where i leave dere u will leave

Heaven is where God dwells, from whence Jesus came and returned. Jesus himself did not return to heaven until 40 days after his resurrection. Do not confuse paradise with heaven. The bible never promised us that we will go to heaven where God dwells rather it says consistently that we will resurrect to live on earth and Christ will descend from heaven to live with us and reign over us as King. Even the new Jerusalem will descend as recorded in the book of revelation 21. This is the teaching of all Christians from the time of Christ..hence you hear Maranatha...Christ is coming soon. The heresy of rapture ( disappearance did not start to be taught in the christian church until some few decades ago). It has no basis in scripture yet it sounds good just as what you are propagating about souls being unconscious.

Did you read Revealtions 6: 9-11 at all?. Did you not read what the dead souls were saying? did you not read they were told to rest? And you think the unconscious soul does talk? Do you think the soul of Jesus was unconscious for three days when he died? The body is unconscious cos it is dead but the soul is alive.

Do you know what the bible call speaking to the dead? You think the dead is unconscious but they can speak? Even the bible admits that it is possible to do so. This is no fiction. Saul spoke to Samuel after his death. God will say I am the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob... you think He is the God of some unconscious souls?... my brother think again.

If you speak to ex-occult members or even current occult members, depending on their rank in Satanism..they will tell you plainly that humans even engage in soul travel..and the soul that travel is very conscious in that realm.

When a man dies, his spirit returns to the Lord, yet he has a soul which is him...which doesn't die as you have seen in scriptures....which Jesus described but you decide to dismiss as symbolic. And when Jesus talks about the fire of hell...you think he was being symbolic?....when he says the rich man went straight to hell ...you think he was being symbolic? When he himself said he was going to paradise....you think he was being symbolic? when he promised a thief that they will meet on thesame day in paradise....you think Jesus was being symbolic? When Jesus showed John what happens to the souls of faithful saints being martyred...and he saw them crying out to God....you think that is being symbolic too?

if you decide to read some non-canonical books such as the book of Enoch...you will see thesame record of all the spirits of the dead (also called souls) crying out to the Lord.

Don't be deceived by new age teachers who specialise in misinterpreting the gospel by presenting a different God and Jesus unto men. Men who think God is wicked and unjust....who in their folly think God cannot destroy men with fire...men who have considered themselves more compassionate than God....who have often accuse God of wickedness....and in their frustration dismiss His entire existence. Hell is real, paradise is real...Heaven is real, God is real and God is not a man. He does destroy and he will destroy....he had destroyed the first world with water.....He will yet destroy the world for the second time with fire. He is compassionate, slow to anger ( not that he doesn't get angry..oh he does!). He hates sin and every sinner....yet he reaches out to sinners in order to save them...but if they refuse to repent or die in their sin. God will destroy them and He will always be right! He who has an ear let him ear!

We've all heard stories of young teenagers getting into accidents and it all starts with inexperienced youths getting on the open road.

What is the worst thing that could happen and are you ready to live with it.

With that kind of trip you are not familiar with the road/potholes.you pick a public bus and follow at safe distance(5 secs).
You should know when to pass, move over back off because road is crowded; if one fumbles you are all not going to have a good day.

PoliticsRe: Prison Is My Home... Gov Sule Lamido by Osoldier: 4:03pm On Sep 13, 2013
miqos02: The Abubakar Kawu Baraje-led faction of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has berthed in Kastina State, just as the group called on Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido and his group not to relent in their struggle to return the party to the path of justice, fairness and rule of law.

This was even as Lamido declared that no amount of intimidation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) would scare them to abandon their struggle of ensuring an ideal and just party, saying that the worse that could happen was to incarcerate them, after 2015.

He spoke yesterday in Dutse, shortly after his return from Abuja, where he had gone to attend a peace meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan, when he received in audience, leaders of the new PDP, from the 34 councils in Katsina State, led by Mr. Ashiru Kankia.

Lamido, who said the struggle was not about the North, but about Nigeria, further said: “PDP is a party that knows the rights of the people. This is why those who could not speak up during the military, could now shout. It was a party built on the ideals of justice, fairness and the rule of law. After we have built the party to maturity, everybody is now struggling to use the platform to further his selfish interest, and not that of Nigeria. Therefore, we will return it to the ideals of its founding fathers.

“We will not allow people that have no political base in their homes to scare us from this struggle. The second phase of the PDP struggle, will be a tough one. And it is a struggle to confront the challenges of Nigeria, and not that of the North.
“We are not afraid of EFCC. We will insist the right thing is done. No amount of intimidation by EFCC will scare us from abandoning our struggle of ensuring an ideal and just party.

“I am not afraid of incarceration. The highest that can happen is that after 2015, they will send me to prison, that place (prison) is my home. I think I am used to it,” Lamido said.
