I’m eager to pick up an ODU tomorrow! I spotted two different versions: one wrapped in a vibrant red box and the other in a sleek white box Which option would you recommend for top-notch performance?
Vibrant o (ZLT), sleek o (ZTE), just make sure you have good Airtel network in your area.

Anyone is good to go if you have good network.

Can anyone ID what cabling this is, and the deployer? I left my area for a month and I'm back to see this in every street.
The way MTN is moving with this Fiber deployment, they’re going to cover the major areas of Lagos very soon.

They want to show “Everywhere you go” no be word of mouth.

That’s positive news. Initially didn’t notice it was net reserves (after considering obligations).

😁
You may be right.
On their site, 100MB is listed as 21k. And if it’s truly MB and not Mb, then you’re getting the right speed.

That was the time all network increase their data plan. There is a reason why ODU subscription is 25k for 50mbps and the reason is still there. So it is unlikely they will increase the price for now
Exactly.

They’re not increasing subscription for now. It’s only the device cost + free sub that will be 40k and I’m sure it will be monitored for market reaction.

Home broadband (Router) ≠ Fixed broadband (ODU)

So my subscription was activated on 6pm 26th of Jan but decided to expire 12pm 24th of Feb...

But that's not the main pain... I have been seeing shage with crazy downtime during the day, lost of band locking, frequent restarts, network toggle of and on....

But all of a sudden my subscription expires and I start getting strong 5g nsa reception. Which I never got till now
The unlimited plan is 30 days inclusive of the day you subscribe.

You’ll mostly get strong signals at ungodly hours (off-peak periods)

We don't have fiber in the North East
You can get starlink then (like 2), you can then use routers to extend the connections.

MrSuama:
Good evening learned fellows, I am having serious challenges choosing the best ODU device.
My intention is to serve at least 300 persons at a go. And I know the ODU can only allow 64 connections at a go.
Below are my challenges
1. Which of the ODU is best so far?
2. If 64 connections are on the ODU simultaneously, would speed be drastically affected?
3. Can I aggregate two or more ODU with a WiFi extender to meet my target of 300 connections?

I am free to suggestions and contributions.
Thanks
300 people at a go is enterprise level. Go and get Fiber.

If you can get FiberX, go for the enterprise 1Gb/s plan for #200k. If not, go for any other fiber provider in your area.

When connected to ZTE ODU UPS, the ZLT IDU misbehaves. It only gives internet to the first connectd device and fails to assign ip to subsequent devices. Its own ip can't be accessed to change anything. While not connected to any router or PoE, its IP can't be accessed too.

The Bridge Mode of MC801A is not able to work as repeater. Apparently it is supposed to be used with a sim card for the bridge mode to work. In the bridge mode, it gives internet access only to a device connected to the selected LAN port. Devices connected via Wi-Fi won't have Internet access.
Bridge mode may not work as that is supposed to merge two networks. Repeater mode won’t do that, it just extends.

Thanks for the effort.

X25 pro is not PoE capable, or is it? It would have worked if it's the ZTE ODU which has a UPS that doubles as PoE.

But then there is also the part where he checks if the IDU can work as a repeater.
Oh. That’s true. The POE ish.

@betnomore, just do SIM swap and rest.

ZLT ODU. Abi make I just retrieve to physical sim. Is the speed reduced when one retrieve to physical sim? Make I just use am for my 5G router and move it to anywhere wey I like for the house. And if Airtel do madness na to buy another ODU again. I think this is the best solution for me if the speed is not affected when using the physical sim on Airtel 5G router
I was thinking if the ODU router (the indoor) has repeater mode, you can pair the X25 pro with the outdoor and use the indoor router as repeater to LAN. If that’s doesn’t work, just do a swap.

Your speed will not reduce with the physical SIM only that with the 5G router being indoor, you may not get a speed as good as the ODU but if Airtel network is solid in your area, it should not be a problem.

Which cheap mifi can one get that has LAN port and can work as wifi repeater?
What you should be getting is a WiFi repeater with LAN port.

Which ODU do you have?

I used the root and admin login but no changes besides some additional submenu. I also have a Zlt m30 mifi that has a LAN port which I can use but can't also find the WISP functionality on that mifi too
You won’t see it because those ZLT devices are not capable of being used as wireless repeaters.

Apparently I went through the system log and something like this.

But I didn't press the factory reset button
Please where's the button located ?
There’s no button on the ODU itself, but there’s a reset button (small hole) at the back of the UPS.

Daily my login(on the admin panel)always resets to the default(it would ask for the default password)(it can happen multiple times daily) and when this happens, all my settings(band locks), data usage all reset.

This issue has been happening from the first day I got it
Then something is wrong with that device.

For me, the only time the statistics reset is when SIM is changed or when I reset the device (Like I inadvertently did a few days ago).

It doesn't you only get sms of your daily data usage and everything auto deletes on its own after some time
You’re wrong.

You may not see it on the app, but when you log in to the admin panel, you’ll see clearly on the home page and you can still go to Tools>Statistics to see.

Odu performance generally depends on your location( how close you're to a cell tower). The odu of the zte is future proof and overkill since the speed is just limited to 50mb/s. And also when installing any zte odu always use the zte installer app to get a good location. I also use the huawei which i prefer because of the app and can be more stable but it doesn't show your cumulative data usage.
Huawei doesn’t show cumulative data usage?

Thank you, there's a mast very close to me.
I clicked obtain everything: Frequency band, frequency point and it brought out the same information on the screenshot.
But something happened when I clicked "Physical Cell ID" it brought out 172, I changed it to 173 myself cos that's what I have on the screenshot.

I didn't lock it to either 4G/5G though, it's on auto and it works just fine, I'm getting stable 40Mbps speed this time of the night(9PM) and I'm streaming so well without interruption.
This is perfect and unbelievable
Glad you were able to find a solution. Enjoy!

Thanks for ur response
I understand everything but not no.4, where do I find cell number to lock to?
BTW, Band 7 is 4G not 5G
Leave the 5G for now. If you have terrible speed on 4G, it most likely won't be much better on 5G. Airtel has only one 5G band and one frequency available i.e. N78 and 627264.

From your screenshot, I can't figure out the band you're connected to but I can see two other band 3 cells available with cell (PCI) 80 being the better of the two.

Check the system status or network info to see the band you're currently connected to.

Alternatively, lock only the 5G to cell 173 and turn off 4G band lock. Let the device select the best 4G aggregation to combine with 5G to give best results. This is what I did recently since Airtel has been moving mad lately. See screenshots.

I think y'all shouldn't band lock but cell lock only.

First remove cell and band lock, go to system status and check for all available cells and bands in your location then lock only the cells with this highest numbers. The higher the cell number the closer the cell tower to you.

My case is cell 3400, 3250 and1876 and band 7,7 and 3. All I did was lock just cell 3400 and 3250. Don't lock bands and you're good.
You mixed it up.

Band: B1, B3, B7, B8 (4G), N78 (5G)
Frequency (EARFCN): 3256, 3400, 3500 (4G), 627264 (5G)
Cell (PCI): location dependent and could be anything from 0-503 (4G), 0-1007 (5G)

Best not to lock cell.

I don't still get this cell locking, can u explain better to me pls ? airtel mast is about 3 minutes walk away from my house
I do get frustrated at night with the internet
If the network is generally bad in your area due to congestion (peak period), there might not be much you can do.

1. Ensure you don't have any band lock in place.
2. At night, go to your cell information page and note all the bands you can see and their strength (RSRP and SINR). Best RSRP is usually less than -65db (lower negative) and SINR above 0 (higher positive)
3. Select the bands/frequency that have the highest values and lock them one by one. Start with Band 7 first.
4. Any band that gives you good speed, go back to the cell information page and note the cell no (PCI).
5. You can then go back and lock the cell as well.

I was experiencing very bad network until my network switched to this and it became very fast. Abeg those doing cell locking, how is it done?
That's Band 3. I think Airtel had issues with their Band 7 (both 3256 & 3400) today. Thankfully B3 was okay. This could be peculiar to my location though.

That's one of the disadvantages of Band/Cell locking.

Such taxes are usually stated when making payments, like VAT.

The state does not care about revenues. It wants to discourage pyrography.

Do you know that 10% of all American women age 18-23 are on onlyfans?
My argument is that if you put the tax on income of the creators, the men who buy will just go ahead and patronize creators in other states.

But if you put the tax on the buyers, you can actually discourage it.

I want to believe the numbers are even higher than that and a lot of older women are involved as well.
