From the screenshot here, it says that I have 6+gb videos in my internal storage but they are not actually up to 2.5gb, is there any hidden folder where the remaining videos are stored? I'm using note 9s From your screenshot, click on video. You'll see all the videos taking up space. You probably have lots of videos coming from WhatsApp. |

The most useless player on that pitch has to be Emerson. Man gets so many opportunities to run in behind the defenders or put a decent ball into the box, but he scuffles it each time. |

MemoriesAndMe: What business did Google advertise for them to pay taxes for? They had their website running from the country they are legally registered in, where they pay taxes in and citizens of other countries found their services valuable and started using their services too. How does that translate to paying taxes in every country your website is accessed from?
Nairaland is a Nigerian website accessed by Nigerians all around the world interested in its contents, does it mean Nairaland has to pay taxes in each of these countries?
Google, whatshap and other tech giants will simply not pay any taxes to Nigeria and the worst that can happen is them barring the country from accessing their services.
Someone said they have millions of subscribers from Nigeria, how has the number of subscribers translated to revenue for whatshap, Twitter, Instagram etc? When was the last time anyone in Nigeria ever paid to use whatshap? Arent most people only looking for free services? These firms maintain infrastructure for the free stuff and didn't advertise themselves for Nigerians to start trooping to use their services for free.
The issue of taxing the media giants has come up in many countries around the world, and its just difficult to establish a taxation structure for such firms compared to typical brick and mortar businesses.
Several firms already blocked Nigerians from accessing their websites or even downloading their apps for security reasons, more will do same for taxation reasons and gradually services available to other nations just won't be available to Nigeria.
If you can recommend a taxation approach and penalty for not complying behind banning the services for the entire nation like FG did Twitter, pls explain. Very well said. You can't tax a company that's not registered in Nigeria. Even if they register here, they still won't be taxed. Taxation of multinationals is based on two principles. Residency or income activity. These companies are mainly resident in the US and their incomes are generated using the servers located in US, so they pay their taxes in the US. It's hard to make them pay Company Income Tax anywhere else. |

traihit: What are you insinuating?
Do those entities have physical presence in Nigeria? No. Are they the only platforms making money from NIgerians no. What this actually translates to is that the government will be taxing virtually every website that generates income from NIgerians. If that doesn't translate to hardship for Nigerians, no problem.
The question is, why is Buhari all of a sudden interested in taxing tech companies heavily? Don't mind them. Even if Twitter sets up an office in Nigeria (which is most likely just going to be a branch, not a subsidiary with servers in Nigeria), it still won't pay Company Income Tax because its revenue will still be generated by servers based in the US. |

Standing5: Taxing twitter without their head office being in Nigeria will set a bad precedence. One day all websites too will be banned. This is abuse of privilege by the govt. Unless Twitter specifically establishes Twitter Nigeria as a subsidiary(thereby becoming a separate legal entity from Twitter Inc.) and sets up its servers here and income is generated using Twitter Nigeria, it mostly likely won't pay Company Income Tax to Nigeria if it opens an office here. It would only pay other relevant rates and taxes. |
Food › Re: Why Do Most People Cook Rice On Sundays??? by Osyxcel(m): 2:46pm On Jun 27, 2021 |
SweetBuns: Back in the olden days, rice was a very special food, only cooked twice or Thrice in a year, depending on the families denomination (New year, Easter and Christmas )
Then it became more common and then was cooked every Sunday, and then every other day
But that tradition of cooking it every Sunday still persists
Our parents learnt it from theirs, we learnt it from ours and we will soon teach our kids
That’s just it Nailed it! |

TheRareGem1: I urge you to read the context please...it's there ..us go and read the financial act too. You will understand more. #Peace I'm familiar with the Finance Act, both 2019 & 2020. You can tax an entity that's not registered in Nigeria. If Twitter or any other SM company doesn't want to open an office in Nigeria, the only thing you can do is to ban them and maybe debar corporate entities from transacting with them. Asides that, there's nothing the government can do. |

Shoodboi: I think it applies to Chi Active alone. That stuff has been scarce for the past 2-3 months. It currently sells for between 600 and 650 in stores that have it, so I think they're concerned about stores buying it from the at 495 and selling at a profit. Chi products have been scarce and expensive these past few weeks though. However, the notice doesn't apply to juices alone. I saw a similar notice at the same Spar limiting soft drinks to 1 pack per customer due to low stock. |

abduleez1: Probably the app is yet to update to Android 11 requirements. I only faced it on Opera Browser. It's lite version — Opera Mini works fine. Wonder why the issues. Although, I noticed Opera hasn't sent update for several weeks now but the mini version has received updates, I'm even seeing a new one this afternoon.
As for locking of app to memory, I know the process using security app. I just used it for illustration for recent apps. I barely even use the feature.
That split screen gimmick is now the problem, I really love gesture control. Button controls seem outdated and weird to me now. it would have been preferable if they added it to quickball.
Thanks tho. Force restart your phone. You can definitely access the split screen from recent apps by long pressing on an app that supports split screen. I use RN9S too.

I've tried the normal tweaks like removing from battery saver and locking in memory, it's still disconnecting and killing the apps.
Since they removed MIUI optimization from developer options this has been a headache Sometimes, I leave my VPN on for up to 12 hours without it disconnecting. The problem could be from your VPN itself. Before coming to a conclusion, try other VPNs. |

** Dimensity 700 is a Helio G95 with 5G and a smaller die. Performance levels are similar.
What are your take guys? I'd pick the RN10S over RN105G. Better camera, better graphics, better display, faster charge time. 5G is a gimmick as long as Nigeria is concerned (for now). |

Politics › Re: Twitter Needs India And Nigeria To Grow. It's Running Into Trouble In Both by Osyxcel(m): 7:38pm On Jun 13, 2021 |
joyandfaith: Have you try to study twitter policy , rules and regulation ? First, tweets must be reported before it can be flagged and possibly deleted.
Twitter is online platform. I think Nigeria is a signatory to open internet and freedom of expression as fundamental human right. Twiitter products and services can be assessed from Nigeria just like we can assess thousands of products without those companies having physical offices in Nigeria.
Twitter did not cause Rwanda genocide. There was no social media then. If there was social media, genocide might have been prevented because world would get to known about it immediately.
Reckless shooting of lekki protesters trigged waves of violence that erupted after that. It was not Twitter that first broadcasted it. People watched it in the live Instagram and the clips were shared via whatapp and Facebook. I think government should worry about whatapp and Facebook. The users of those platforms don't question source of information. Twitter users are known to question source of information. They are more mature and professional.
Government can regulate anything it wants. I am certain that if regulation is to prevent people from criticising the government , populace would find means of mobilising against it which may lead to civil unrest or war. Government should always open to discussion or use information in social media to solve problems.
Humans are borne free in all ramifications. Governments are known as oppressors. Ecc 8:9 Very well said. FG are targeting Twitter because there are more youths there. Let them touch Whatsapp and FB and they'll face backlash from a greater population including adults. Afterall, I read that FB also removed the post of the President, why were they not banned? If any liberation is to come to the people of Nigeria from the wicked and oppressive governments we have today, it'll be triggered by the youths. The older generation have been subdued and caged with fear. That's what the Government doesn't want - liberation. |
