It's obvious that you have not had case in court before or got involved in land matters litigation.

That is bad PR to the retired officer. He could actually land in bigger problems ,even arrested and prosecuted.

The Minister represents the President. If he takes on the Minister then he is taking on the President and that's bad for him.

Interestingly, the retired officer wouldn't send his own son on such errand and when he was a young officer, he wasn't having a shouting match publicly with constituted authorities or behaving the way the young officer behaved to the Minister. If he was behaving like that he would not get to the pinnacle of his career.

FG will investigate the appropriateness or otherwise of a serving or retired senior military officer to give order to a junior officer to restrain a Minister on his lawful duty from performing his duty.
That will be visited to ensure that such disgraceful scene never happens again.

That Junior Officer should have known the limits of his discretion and just kept quiet after saying he was obeying order which has now turned out to be an order given by a retired military officer.

So if tomorrow, retired or serving officers tell him to slap a government official, he will do it niyen.

It was the President he was challenging by placing the 'order ' above the authority of the president delegated to the Minister.

Whatever incentive he got or was promised by the retired Senior Officer for him to behave in that manner must be investigated too. Haba!

It is completely unacceptable that the Minister was prevented from performing his lawful duty by a junior officer acting on the order of a retired military officer. Everyone including the junior officer and the retired Senior naval officer should by now have been rounded up and quizzed if it's not already done.

That video is a very sad event that embarrasses the President and the nation.

Yerima is Gambos head of security. Gambo retired is allocated between 8-15 active duty soldiers as his permanent security detail till the day he dies.

Protecting his lawfully aquired personal property is not excluded from their duties.

Wike has no right to revoke property and hamd over to another individual. That is why he had no documentation to present to prove his right to demolish the property.

Vice Admiral AZ Gambo is senior to the current CDS, General Oluyode, and by that, the CDS cannot go against his orders. This is simple military tradition and precedence.

The only person that can give a counter order to the orders of Vice Admiral Gambo is the Commander-In-Chief, Tinubu, but even Tinubu must be careful because there’s a way he’d handle the matter in favour of the law (Wike) and he would anger the rank and file of the military establishment which will not be good at all.

There’s a reason people like AZ Gambo are left alone to do their thing as far as their actions are not very much against the law or threat to public peace and order.

How much does Wike and FCT ministry want to generate from the General registering for his development levy. It’s a totally unnecessary fracas.

No the President is the head of the Armed Forces. He is the commander in chief and all commissioned officers get their commissions from the president.

But the thing is that it is belittling for the office of the president to he intervening on land matters.

What you saw today was a case of intimidation gone wrong..because the officer told the chief of defense staff that they were not there on illegal duty.

At the point the CDS just comot him hand for the matter.

When a top military officer retires, he has by law a number of active duty personally stationed to him for life.

They were ordered by their boss to go protect his property from police harassment.

Under the law, a military officer does not have the right to intervene in land dispute matters. Talkless of the stopping a Minister from inspecting a Land.

Under the Land Use Act, Land ownership belongs to the Governor of the State, of which Wike is equivalent to in the FCT.

Land disputes are civil cases and even the Police doesn't have the right to intervene, until there is a crime, like fighting

The basic responsibility of the Nigerian Military, is to defend Nigeria from external aggression.

Maintain the territorial integrity and secure the borders.

Suppress insurrection and act in aid of civil authorities to restore order (under specific conditions and Presidential directive only).

Any attempt by a military officer like what we saw today, to assert jurisdiction or forcibly intervene in a non-military land dispute is unlawful and an abuse of power.

That Military Officer and who ever sent them on that mission, needs to face punishment for acting outside their legal jurisdiction.

It is an insult to our democratic ruling, to have military officer sent to protects ordinary Land.
