mamatwiny: Gbam . Well said.... The kind of wickedness I see in ppl, I wonder what changed as soon as they landed abroad. Ppl lose their conscience and all that matters is what they can get no matter if anyone or ppl get hurt... I have come to the conclusion that they were inherently evil even in naija but hardship or condition didn't allow them show their real colors... The Nigerian patter is that we are worshippers of mammon. If the individual you are dealing with has no money to give you, the person is treated like trash and whenever the person giving them money no longer has to give, all the double respect and honor ends right there and he will be laughed and scorned. |

NiceLegs: Hello Everyone. Something happened today and I want you all living abroad to learn from this story.
So today, I got a call from a client I have not met before. During his introduction, he said he lives in USA and that someone referred him to me. I introduced myself aswell. After a short exchange of pleasantries, he went straight to tell me he wanted to buy plots of land in Lagos state. He said wanted an area that is already fully developed. He went on to mention areas like Egbeda, Ikeja, Surulere, Maryland, Yaba, VI, Lekki Phase 1 etc.
I told him there are no available plots of lands in these areas because they are Lagos Mainland and Island areas. These areas are already fully occupied with buildings. No virgin lands here. Even if he will see, he won't be able to afford it cos they will run into hundreds of millions which I know he doesn't have. I told him I once saw a plot at Ikeja for 450m and I know he doesn't have such amount of money.
He insisted he wanted these parts of Lagos because he wants a developed area he can buy a land and start building. He said some people have been telling him to check Ibeju-Lekki areas. I told him Ibeju-Lekki areas are complete BUSHY areas and if he buys there, in the next 20years, the area would still not have developed still.
I showed him some plots I have at Ikola-Ipaja area, close to Iyana-Ipaja and he loved it so much. The price of a plot there is about 35m with CofO. He loved it together with the price which he said he was very okay with. We discussed further on them and then he told me he wants to get five plots. Two plots for him and three plots in his children's name.
He didn't say anything about wife.
I agreed but his request got me so curious so I asked him a question.
Now this is where it get interesting.
I said "Sir, you are in USA and I'm sure you are living happy there, why did you decide to start buying plots of land in Lagos. Some buy maybe 1 or 2 but you are buying 5 at once. Why?
Do u know what he said?
He paused for a long while and said this....
He ended by saying he will get back to me before the week runs out so we can proceed on the purchase of the plots of land.
After the conversation. I just started thinking. His story is sad because it's a mixture of betrayal from people he loves and one of regret due to lack of foresight.
This is around past 1.AM here in Nigeria and am still awake thinking about it. That's why I decided to post it here so that our brethren in Diaspora can learn one or two from this man's sad story.
May God give everybody abroad foresight so that you won't wake up in 30 years time and start regretting that you did not do what u could have done while you were still young. I can relate to his story very well. This place ehnnn there are a lot of nasty people. Those people he thought were his friends are not, why because they are Luke friends you make in prison...born out of necessity to survive, once they are no longer in that confined space, they realize they have nothing in common and the friendship dies. Also that wife's behaviour is quite common. Women secretly competing with their husbands. I think the system makes people callous and treacherous. He should thank God he still has the means to redeem his self. Nobody send anybody for here ooo. Everything is transactional. No love on the streets. |

Konquest: @Otipoju
Succinctly stated.
The Oyo Kingdom's role is largely ceremonial and of course the Aare Ona Kakanfo, Gani Adams from Ondo State was appointed to that prestigious aristocratic position by the penultimate Alaafin of Oyo. It's even a blessing in disguise that these things are cropping up now, so that in the event that a Yoruba country comes out of a former country called Nigeria like the DEFUNCT Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia and USSR, the various Yoruba cousins (States and Kingdoms) from Lagos, Kwara, Kogi and other contiguous States would know how to behave and respect one another from here on out.
The embrace of disruptive technologies, continuous human capacity building, space age tech and a robust focus on the STEM fields from the elementary years to grad school are what the over 70 million strong Yoruba folks spread worldwide in multiple economic capitals require. Same applies to other people as well NOT this lame quarrels over who has powers to issue aristocratic titles. Awolowo is one of the few visionary leaders that Yorubas have. Most of the current crop are just a bunch of donkeys who just want to chop money and flex and would shut down any progressive idea or project that will prevent them from being able to steal money. |

When it's time for church donations,it's us the members who do that ,but when a member needs help from the same church, they turn him/her down and directs him/her to look up to God for that . No be witchcraft be that? I remember the advise my friend gave me many years ago as a teenager after I stopped going to church when I saw injustice on full display and absolute non challenge by the leadership toward the whole thing. She said " ignore all of them and focus squarely on worshipping God and go back home...for it is God you came to serve". This worked for me for many many years until I got immersed deeply in the week to week affairs of a parish that I currently attend. Most Pastors and most church leaders are better avoided. Their hearts are crafty, cold and callous and they are highly manipulative in their quest for power, fame and money. If you make yourself available, they will use you and drain you and thrash you like they never knew you if they no longer need you or have found someone else that they can use. Na you go use your head. Go to church worship your God and distance yourself from them as much as you can. |

GhaliNaaba: I know people are gullible as truth remains that Oonirisa of Ife is trespassing his boundary. He has no authority to make appointment that cover entire Yoruba land. Alafin remain the defacto political leader of entire Yoruba race will Ooni is head of Aborisa of Yorubaland😂. He can't only make appointment on Okanlomo of Odua not of Yoruba land. Ooni has no empire. He is a spiritual leader but has no authority that cover the whole Yorubaland. Does the Alaafin have that political authority? His empire does not exist as he has no army to enforce any order and is a defeated Kingdom. Where is his army where is his police, what are the extent and boundaries of his kingdom. Alaafin is a government employeee wey dey collect salary from government. Alaafin that can be sacked and replaced like the Emir Sanusi by the governor his boss. Alaafin has no such authority...but Ooni as the spiritual head of the so called cradle of mankind is in a more elevated position. He has a palace and is considered a priestly king |

Your ignorance is alarming.
Women are not ostracized in the CCC. They have many platforms to preach and teach other than the regular service .
As for allowing menstruating women to enter the altar to conduct service....just forget it unless the incident that happened to Jesus with the woman with the issue of blood is removed from scripture.
She touched Jesus and power left his body.
Menstruation carries death. Because in reality it was a life that ought to start via pregnancy but did not and do the female body breaks down those cells and dispose them...eventually downward towards the earth as opposed to prayers during service that are meant to rise up towards heaven.
When the woman who had been in this condition perpetually came into contact with the giver of life in abundance, even he felt a drain on his Spirit.
That is why we don't allow women in their period come into contact with sacred objects and highly sacred places in the church so that the operations of the Holy Spirit is not restricted.
It's not just an old testament doctrine...it's an eternal fact.
We do not hate or decide women. It is what it is and will continue to be.
I am sure it would be an ugly sight seeing female service conductor crying in the altar or pulpit from her menstrual pains and unable to continue the service or preaching.
Or having blood stains on her bombom while in her sutana showing to the public because her menstrual pad was leaking.
Borrow yourself a brain and leave nonsense talk for nonsense people. |
