Jarus:
Used it twice. They are okay. Better than BA in terms of food and seating convenience, but not as good as Emirates or Qatar.

Will rate it 7/10.
Thank you

Hello everyone I am new on this thread. Please I wanted to find out details on how to go about my application. I have filled the form not submitted though , I am a homemaker and my husband is sponsoring my trip with my son I wanted to know if on the column that says how much you spend in a month if I am allowed to write anything considering that I don't have any monthly earnings. Plus my son is a us citizen should I still carry any documents for him since we will be going together. Also I have a valid us visa do you think that can help my chances of them overlooking the fact that I am currently not employed. Thanks all hope to get a response soon

Thank you so much for all the help for the past few months. This forum was a huge blessing in my life.

I just collected my passport, 6 months multiple entry visa granted.

Timeline:
March 1: submitted online application
March 9: biometrics at VI tls
March 15: email from Sheffield stating application being prepared for consideration by eco
April 5: decision made on tracker, email from tls for passport collection
April 6: collected passport. Visa granted

Date passport stamped: march 28

I thought I made some mistakes but God is great!

Please is it compulsory that you have to apply when its close to your travel date cos my travel date back to nigeria is in january but i plan on leaving houston by this month end so can i go ahead and apply.uote author=drI post=62935494]

I don't get the gist of the passport office rather than the agency.

I did mine about 6 weeks ago and I went to the passport office at downtown Houston for submission of the documents. I got the passport the next day. it depends on ur travel itinerary. Here is their number(877) 487-2778

i am referring to the US passport. hope that's what you refer to?
It's only right that I come to give back to the platform which gave me so much information about this Journey to birth.

I come here quietly to read other mums experiences and prepare for my own. I'm not a first time mum but my first time visiting US to birth.

I got a US visa last year with my family for a conference/vacation which we eventually didn't use because we had to travel to the UK for my hubby's graduation which incidentally coincided with the conference date. Family first they say.

Fast forward this year, we planned on using it for summer but then I fell pregnant before then. It was a very difficult one trying to get a hospital, Doctor , accommodation and co. But this platform helped me a lot.

I settled for Oak bend in Richmond Tx. And Dr. Ziworitin Dama. I paid my Doctors bill in full before leaving Nigeria. I did the series of tests required in Nigeria too. Got my fit to fly from my Dr in Lagoon hospital and left and 34weeks plus.

My flight was a long one cos I flew British airways from Lagos to London to Newyork to Charlotte to HOUSTON. From what I read here I decided to avoid the Houston POE and enter through Newyork. I don't have energy to speak grammar and be held for hours in the name on inspection.
.
I requested for a wheelchair all through the journey. And it really helped. As soon as I'm out of the airplane, the wheel chair was already waiting to take me to my next gate. Pls avoid hand luggage. Use a stroller instead. I made that mistake and didn't find it funny carrying my heavy hand luggage
.
My POE was stress free. I was wheeled to the immigration officer first while others where on a long queue. The wheel chair places you as priority.

Immigration officer: what are you her for?
Me: vacation and to have my baby?
Immigratuon officer: Who is financing?
Me: I am
Officer: How much do you have?
Me: I have paid my Doctors bill already and I have xyz dollars
Officer: place your four fingers and your right thumb, look into the camera. Stamped my passport and said welcome to America. Finish

In all I didn't spend upto 2mins with him. I think Newyork is the best POE lol!. I was prepared also. I was then directed to the customs where I declared all I came with and left. Nothing was taken out or seized.

I have gone for my first appointment with Dr Z. I want to ask mums here who used him if your antenatal drugs where given free. Cos I didn't get any. Anyway I will discuss that on my next visit. I was also sent for my level 2 scan which I have done. Luckily a secondary school mate offered me free accommodation with her family. I have settled in and looking forward to my baby's arrival

Thanks to this platform and all the best to mums coming to the US
Oh congrats dear, i am hoping that i get my visa by my next week interview. I will be using Dr dama as well how did your first appointment with him go? I hear he is nice and all.

Hi all, eku 3 days! The thread has really grown! Congrats to the new mamas and papas.
I've got a quick question please. How long can one keep a visa application fee payment for? Let me try putting it in a clearer way...for how long would a visa fee remain valid if one misses a prior scheduled appointment, any deadline at which the person must re-book or forfeit the application fees?
You can apply in two days after you misses your prior appointment and the visa fee is valid for a year

I am trying to apply now and asked if i have been refused visa should i go ahead and state the right reason?
quote author=Buku post=60222769]

Hi,
Sorry about that, is your budget above your statement and I hope you had extra in your account ,I guess that necessary too because you will need to spend when you return from your trip. I wish you the very best
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by Otokini01: 3:51pm On Sep 07, 2017
Which other transcript?

quote author=Ramj post=60223582]

Hello Otokini01, sorry about the denial. It would b good if you can post the ttanscript of your VISA intrview so that the many great and experienced minds on this forum can peruse and give some one or 2 suggestions. But your budgetting seems to be a red flag and an area to look into already from the VO's remarks

To gt closer dates just keep refreshing the appointment page hoping to get a closer date. October is not too close and not too far too. Keep trying.

Cheers
Maybe so, cos i really did not understand how come even after paying for my doctors fee i still more to cover up my expenses there.

quote author=Nwebele post=60224736]

Sorry for the refusal. Could he have meant that you cant spend all your savings just for birthing in the US. Maybe you need to really fund your account if you dont have other assets or fixed deposits to prove your bouyancy
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by Otokini01: 3:47pm On Sep 07, 2017
Not at all oh, my budget wasnt above my statement, i even had two statements for them to look at but the man decided to look at only one and just said it wasnt enough. Because the amount in my statement can even cover for another doctors fee but i still put it there in my budget.
