Crime › Re: Does The Police Have The Right To Stop And Search My Car? by otokx(m): 12:01pm On Mar 25, 2019 |
Rivers State has long become another thing, the rate of crime is so high that law abiding citizens are so happy to see the Police especially on east west road after Choba bridge till Mbiama in the Ikwerre axis and after Eleme flyover down to Akwa Ibom in the Ogoni axis. My colleague that just came back from Akwa Ibom said that despite the number of police check points in that Ogoni axis, boys in military uniform still terrorized the area. Once you enter Akwa Ibom you feel an overwhelming sense of peace and this is the same feeling you get once you get into Bayelsa State.
The political and traditional rulers are paying lip service to the security as well as the environmental pollution in the state. |

obailala: I support this motion...
In Nigerian universities, some silly lecturers feel when they fail 80% of their students they are being mean or wicked or strong. But in saner societies, if 80% of your students fail an examination, you the lecturer will be severely queried for not doing your job of teaching them properly. A laboratory is meant to sit 30, you admit 305, what miracle do you want the lecturer to perform? will the 80% be on the sitting capacity or the admitted capacity? Some universities decided to do batching but, there is a limit to the number of batches the staff can comfortably handle. Nigerian universities need massive infrastructural intervention that is real and adequate. |

tungamaje: Is it not the same consumers that have been clamouring to be metered with the Discos refusing? Nigerians are ready to pay higher bills once thy are commensurate with supply. Give Nigerians meters unfortunately not true, some of the people in my area got meters and then did bypass, they pay just for bulbs, all other ac, freezer, fridge, water pump goes direct, when NEPA saw it they mounted the ppm on poles then others rejected the ppm prefering estimated bills, others still look for way to bypass, so many hypocrites in Nigeria. |

afroniger: Not just Osun but the entire country. Too many redundant civil servants (not to mention ghost workers) draining resources that could be better used to serve the greater public good and welfare. But dem never born the governor that will exercise the political will to do something about it because the opposition will turn it into a political weapon to demonize such a governor. Any governor that dares to trim the civil service work force will automatically become 'public enemy' number 1. That is the disadvantage of democracy in Nigeria. |
