There are lots of Muslims here. What I don't know is if they have a mosque. For churches, yes there are penticostal churches, Catholic, JW and co. The most popular being HIF....in Hanoi though.

Some Viets are Buddhists, some worship their ancestors, some worship money, some are indifferent.

I've heard the government sort of prohibits public religious worships and I hear lots of Vietnamese who convert to Christianity are persecuted at home and work.

I for one have never had issues going to church activities and all so....this is the much I know

Sorry, my question may be off it or so.

What church do you associate with there?

First int’l commercial flights may be resumed since mid-September

VGP – The Civil Aviation Authority of Viet Nam (CAAV) has worked out a plan to resume international flights on August 15, with all passengers to be quarantined for 14 days on arrival.

The first international flights will to Japan and the Republic of Korea with the frequency of four trips per week for each route, CAAV Director General Dinh Viet Thang told the Viet Nam News Agency on Monday.

Thang said Viet Nam has completed consultation about the flight resumption with the Japanese and Korean sides.

The Ministry of Transport will convene a meeting on September 1 with the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Health, and Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to discuss the plan in detail, especially quarantine work.

Viet Nam halted all international commercial flights since April 1 in a bid to prevent importation of COVID-19. It is estimated that Vietnamese airlines will suffer a loss of US$4 billion this year.

The CAAV said five domestic airlines, namely Viet Nam Airlines, Vietjet, Bamboo Airways, Pacific Airways, and VASCO, only operated 16,400 flights between July 19 and August 18, down 45% from the same period last year.

In a bid to support the domestic carriers, the Viet Nam Aviation Business Association has called on the Government to offer the airlines credit worth over US$1 billion at preferential interest rates for three- to four-year terms.

In recent meeting on COVID-19 response, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc reaffirmed the Government’s resolve to pursue the dual goal of containing COVID-19 and restarting the economy heavily impacted by the pandemic.

Official data released by the General Statistics Office last weekend showed that inbound tourism shrank 66.6% whil trade with the rest of the world contracted 0.3% on year in January-August.

. They don't pay in USD

I meant their works are valued in dollars. They pay will Dollar at heart from the researches I made though. Imagine paying 8million VND to someone at the end of the month, if not for the rate of dollar being considered, they won't even pay half of that.

I have never been there before, so I. may not be right. You can give a better and right opinion on that.

Nice thread indeed, would love to consider this Vietnam through study route but when I saw the strength of their Currency to Naira I began to have double thought as the goal is to study and stay back. Gurus in the house is there something we should know?

What you don't know is that most jobs there pay in $USD

Yes but i guess it's not compulsory, if you get admitted the school will still do an English Evaluation Test for you when you get there but in my case I won't do the English Evaluation cos I submitted IELTs.

I felt IELTs will increase chances of getting scholarships but otopxy got it without IELTs.

Did you try to contact them to ask how about your application?

Hey guys, I met a Vietnamese girl online few months ago & now we are madly in Love with each other.
She works at a Bank there in the Capital City & She always call me on Video call & even when she's at work and most of her friends already know me.
Vietnamese girls love is so out of this world, My girl is so obsessed with me.
She cries on Video call that she can't wait for International flights to kick-off so we can finally meet
I am also madly in Love with her, and we're making plans already on how to meet.

So my question now is, Should I go & meet her in Vietnam or I should tell her to come over to Nigeria?
Her parents & my parents are already aware of our relationship.

I await your advice.

If she has the resources and she's willing to come, let her come first! From there, both of you can plan how you will be paying her a visit there or probably relocate!

No. Vietnamese blood is in my vein but my family has immigrated to EU since my childhood. My best friend is Nigerian. He introduced me this forum. I don't know much about Vietnam either. I came here just to know what Vietnam looks like, especially in the eyes of Nigerians. I also know a little about Vietnamese language and the country of Vietnam.

I also plan to attend a student exchange program in Vietnam. Therefore, I also know a little bit about universities in Vietnam

OK, you from which country?

Have you tried this list of schools, these schools are globally accredited.

- Vietnam Japan University

- Vietnam France University (aka University of Science and Technology of Hanoi)

- RMIT Vietnam

- British University Vietnam

- Vietnamese-German University

- Fulbright University Vietnam

There is some good Vietnamese public and private universities that are offering cheap tuition fees but I'm not sure that they are accepting international students.

For example:
Ton Duc Thang University
Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City
VNUHCM - University of Technology
VNUHCM - International University
Vietnam National University, Hanoi
Hanoi University of Science and Technology

btw, I am Vietnamese and I am not an agent.

You mean you are now a citizen of Vietnam?

God bless u for this info, GraciasMY JOURNEY SO FAR

Hello, how has the research and every every been? I have a little update for us specifically on my own moves.

I wish to In a special way appreciate @WhyNa for creating this thread and sharing her journey oth us.

Just as she said earlier, there are many ways to enter Vietnam and we know many people will discover many routes. The fact that you are reading this could be a sign that you want to travel therefore I encourage everybody to share their experiences or successes so far.

I want to share on the study route, for those who want to enter Vietnam through study route. I have made some little progress on this regard.

My own research started with finding good but cheap countries I could study In and work and stay back after my study to work. The first place I found was North Cyprus, it was actually cheap but my findings showed that WORK NO DEY THERE OH, NA SUFFER THINGS. I was wise enough to move on. I came across India again and ran away fast because I have researched them some few year back, it's very cheap but no work even for their people talk less of Nigerians and they don't like us.

Finally, I came to Vietnam. My findings was cool, I some some schools and applied while waiting for them, my research brought me to this thread. I focused my energy on trying to enter Vietnam through the work permit route of which @WhyNa's posts and updates have been of great blessing. In May, one of the schools got back to me and that was FPT university in Hanoi its a university that deals more on IT and business courses. I asked them about the visa and everything. They will prepare the visa for you while you get the Visa Stamp at the Vietnamese embassy Abuja.

I asked how much is The visa stamp they said they don't really know that I should contact the embassy. When I contacted the embassy, they said it varies depending on the type of student visa but that it's between 200 to 300 dollar.

Now, this process is very easy and you don't need to ask much questions and you don't need an agent.

1. Research top universities in Vietnam.
2. Get their admission office WhatsApp number. This guys are very helpful through their whatsapp, ask any questions. I always tell the person handling the FPT university admission WhatsApp number that am sorry for my to many questions and he/she will always tell me dont worry just ask.
3. Ask about their support systems. FPT university for example, helps with airport pick up, helps to get accomodation, help you get a part time job at most in 3 months after you arrive Vietnam.
4. Apply and ask if their are scholarship oppourtinties available. Due to this corona virus pandemic effect on the economy, Vietnam education industry dey find student and they are likely to give out discounts just as is happening in North cyprus now. So, if you don't ask they might not tell you.
5. Arrange soft copies of your documents and send to their mail then await their admission/Scholarship report. Note: No school will give you full scholarship, you can only get discounts and trust me their tuition fees are relatively cheap.
6. Make payment and they will start working on your visa which should take not more than a month.

Concerning coming to Vietnam, my school said they are working with their immigration department to make sure they allow international students and professors to enter the country when they open the borders hopefully by July ending so please confirm from your school before making payment. Me I never pay tuition few, I still dey hustle he money but once am ready to pay, I will reconfirm from the school because I need to be sure if I pay Now, I should come over before September.

Also, I don't know of other university but for my school, you get 1 year temporal residence to enable you get a job after your graduation. This to me is cool.

Finally, this process is very easy, you don't need to ask many questions or send me a mail or look for agent as long as study route is concerned, just get the school and the course of your choice, send them mail or chat their WhatsApp number and they will take it up from their.
Their Bsc it 3 years or 4 years those that are 3 years do 3 semesters per year while those that are 4 years do 2 semesters per year.
Masters is 2 years.
Most of the schools are also affiliated to universities in UK, US, Australia

I wish all luck, if any other person is making progress through another route please share too for those who might be interested.

Udo diri anyi.
