MY CONSOLATION AFTER NNPC DISAPPOINTMENT I had high hopes on the NNPC recruitment after the interviews which, to the best of my knowledge, I did very well. My current job (now previous) became tiring for me and i thought NNPC woukd salvage my aspirations. I was on an official assignment that Friday when mails were sent to successful candidates but i didnt have the time to come on nairaland to check updates. In the evening when I got home, i received a chat from my female friend who knew i applied for the job. She said they've started sending mails. I hurriedly relaunched my Gmail app and refreshed multiple times but unfortunately, I didnt see ant mail from NNPC. I was sad, dejected and disappointed. My wife felt it the more....she went into deep thought straight like she was the one that applied. But to the glory of God, the following Tuesday, I got an offer (not like NNPC but far better than my current job) to resume in an Oil Terminal in Warri with a company. To God be the Glory. To other people who didn't get the NNPC APL like me, I pray to God to make you smile very very soon with a job (better job). To those that got the NNPC APL, I wish you all the best in your careers too. |
villainnotmoobb:I am also from Kwara and I didn't receive too. It is emotionally draining but we move!!! |

My NNPC Story A friend called to tell me NNPC recruitment is out and that I should apply. I rubbished it and said "woh! I'm not applying for any Govt job again jare. They already knew those they want to employ". The application window was just 2 weeks from the date of advert. 4 days later, a mentor called me and said " I have dropped a message on your whatsapp, check it". I quickly went and what i saw was "apply for this job and take it seriously". I just shook my head and closed the chat. 7 days after the day of advert, i decided ti fulfil all rightoeusness and just apply. I got discouraged when I was finding it difficult to upload my documents. I left it and continued with my day job. On the last of the application windon, i just decided to try it again and all documents uploaded. 3 hours before expiry of advert, finally i successfully submitted. I heaved a sigh of relief! 2 weeks later, i got a mail and SMS from NNPCCAREERS that my uploaded documents were not legible, that i should re-upload. I was given a timeline of 24hours. I finally did. Then, during Ramadan fasting, there came the CBT invite. I was dead broke that day that i didnt even have TFare to go to the exam venue at Ikorodu. I told my fiancee " woh! I'm not going again jare. I dont have money plus its heavily raining now. She said "you must go o. You have ti go". I found money and went to Ikorodu. Wheb I got there, i was shocked at the sight of the crowd i met. Guys were " famzing" ladies. I jist stood somewhere and waited. I did the test and it was good. Later when i got the Interview invite, that was when i felt maybe the process could be fair. I dont even want to talk about what happened on that day of Interview ehn (July 6th)! Why did I share this? No matter what comes out of this (I am positive though), I believe I have tried and I give God the glory for giving me opportunity to have a 50-50 chance of working with NNPC even without knowing anybody. In the end, I wish us well. We are deserving of the APL and we should get it by God's grace. |

Is that a sign that APL is near? I've been a silent observer here and I have been following with keen interest. May the coming of APL (Whenever it comes) favour us. First time of commenting on this thread joobseekar: |
