TIMOTHY BRADLEY UPSETS MANNY PACQUIAO TO CLAIM WBO WELTERWEIGHT BOXING TITLE. Manny Pacquiao tried to turn his welterweight title fight with Timothy Bradley into a brawl, but it was Bradley who won a split decision to end a remarkable run by the Filipino fighter. Bradley won 115-113 on two scorecards, while losing by the same margin on the third. The decision was roundly booed by the crowd at the MGM Grand arena. Pacquiao never put Bradley down, but hurt him in the early rounds and landed the harder and cleaner punches throughout the fight. Bradley fought well in spurts and tried desperately to take the fight to Pacquiao, and scored enough points with the judges to win the 147-pound title. Bradley injured his foot early in the fight but didn't let that slow him as he improved to 29-0 with 12 knockouts. Pacquiao, who fell to 54-4-2, landed a greater percentage of both punches and power punches but Bradley claimed the title. "I did my best but my best wasn't good enough," Pacquiao said after the fight. After the fight, well-known trainer and commentator Teddy Atlas tweeted that "boxing is a corrupt sport." When asked during the in-ring interview if he thought he won the fight Pacquiao said, "Absolutely, yes." SOURCE: http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id/8032414/timothy-bradley-beats-manny-pacquiao-controversial-split-decision Now I know all these white owned media houses are gonna cry and call this fight unfair but c'mon, Bradley came on hard, dude didn't come to play.......Pacquiao had to let the match wait cuz he was watching the HEATS VS CELTICS game , with the crowd and Bradley waiting for him to finish watching his game......serves him right...... ![]() I bet Mayweather will be screaming crazy in jail tonyt....... ![]() |

The fact that Timothy Brown is a reasonably healthy 46-year-old is no small thing. Only a few years ago, he had AIDS. "I feel good," Brown told ABC News. "I haven't had any major illnesses, just occasional colds like normal people." Brown is the only person in the world to be cured of AIDS, the result of a transplant of blood stem cells he received to treat leukemia. "My case is the proof in concept that HIV can be cured," he said. Brown got lucky. The blood stem cells he received came from a donor with a special genetic mutation that made him resistant to HIV. The genetic mutation occurs in less than 1 percent of Caucasians, and far less frequently in people of other races. Before Brown got his transplant in 2007, doctors tested nearly 70 donors for this genetic mutation before they found one who was a match. But doctors hope that a similar solution could help other people with HIV: umbilical cord blood transplants. Dr. Lawrence Petz, medical director of StemCyte, an umbilical cord blood bank, said although Brown was cured by his transplant, the process was complicated because the blood stem cells came from an adult donor. "When you do that you have to have a very close match between donor and recipient," Petz said. "With umbilical cord blood, we don't need such a close match. It's far easier to find donor matches." But it's still not that easy. Petz and his colleagues have tested 17,000 samples of cord blood so far, and found just 102 that have the genetic HIV-resistant mutation. The team performed the first cord blood transplant on an HIV-infected patient a few weeks ago, and they have another transplant planned for a similar patient in Madrid, Spain, later this year. It will still be months before researchers can tell if the transplants have any effect on the patients' HIV. Petz also noted that transplants aren't performed solely to treat AIDS. Patients who get them have an additional condition that requires a blood stem cell transplant. Curing their AIDS would be an incredible bonus. "It can be done. It's just a matter of time," Petz said. Brown had his transplant in February 2007. Today, his body shows no signs of the virus. Brown said he feels guilty being the only person to have been cured of the virus when millions still live with it. But he hopes his story will inspire others that a cure is possible. "I don't want to be the only person in the world cured of HIV. I want a cure for everyone," he said. SOURCE

A two-year-old boy sat up in his coffin and asked for water before laying back down again lifeless, according to a Brazilian news website. In a case that seems almost too incredible to be true, ORM claimed that Kelvin Santos stopped breathing during treatment for pneumonia at a hospital in Belem, northern Brazil. He was declared dead at 7.40pm on Friday and his body was handed over to his family in a plastic bag. The child's devastated family took him home where grieving relatives held a wake throughout the night, with the boy's body laid in an open coffin. But an hour before his funeral was due to take place on Saturday the boy apparently sat up in his coffin and said: 'Daddy, can I have some water?'. The boy's father, Antonio Santos, said: 'Everybody started to scream, we couldn't believe our eyes. Then we thought a miracle had taken place and our boy had come back to life. Then Kelvin just laid back down, the way he was. We couldn't wake him. He was dead again. Mr Santos rushed his son back to the Aberlardo Santos hospital in Belem, where the doctors reexamined the boy and confirmed that he had no signs of life. He said: 'They assured me that he really was dead and gave me no explanation for what we had just seen and heard.' The boy's family decided to delay the funeral for an hour in the hope that he would wake up again, but ended up burying him at 5pm that day in a local cemetery. Convinced that his son was victim of medical malpractice, Mr Santos has now registered a complaint with the police who have launched an investigation He said: 'Fifteen minutes after rushing him away for resuscitation, they came and told me he was dead and handed me his body. Perhaps they didn't examine him properly. Dead people don't just wake up and talk. I'm determined to find out the truth.' The local state department today confirmed the boy had been admitted to hospital in a critical condition and was declared dead after suffering cardiac-respiratory failure.

With the July 9 Web apocalypse nearing for computer owners infected with the malicious DNSChanger malware, the social network reaches out to tell them how to clean their machines. Don't be alarmed if you open up your Facebook account and get a large warning message that says, "Your computer or network might be infected." Facebook announced today that its security team has joined a consortium of computer security experts working to clean up malicious malware called DNSChanger. As a result, the social network can now notify victims, who may have infected computers, and help them figure out how to rid their networks of the botnet. "Facebook's Product Security Team is working constantly to protect users from malicious content and malware like viruses, trojans, and worms," Facebook wrote in a blog post today. "A recent malware threat our team has been fighting is called DNSChanger." DNSChanger is a particularly diabolical botnet because those users with infected computers will no longer be able to access the Internet come July 9. That means no Web sites, no e-mail, and no Facebook. When the malware was first discovered in 2007, it had already infected millions of computers worldwide. The way it worked was by tinkering with a computer's settings and then directing users to rogue servers set up by a crime ring. These servers then re-directed users to malicious Web sites. Late last year, the FBI arrested the ring and seized the rogue servers. But since so many infected computers relied on the servers to reach the Internet, the agency opted not to shut them down and instead converted them to legitimate DNS machines. However, running the machines costs money, so the government decided to switch the servers off in July. Facebook's effort to help users clean their computers comes on the heels of Google announcing the same last month. The Web giant has just begun posting alerts at the top of its search results page with text that says, "Your computer appears to be infected." Along with the notification, Google will also give users additional details on the malware. If users get the Facebook warning or think that their computer is infected, they can visit the DNSChanger Working Group's Detection Page, which is the consortium that Facebook is working with, and get instructions on how to wipe their computer of the botnet.

Mario Balotelli will have both his family names on his Italy shirt at Euro 2012. UEFA's official tournament list shows that the 21-year-old forward has registered 'Barwuah Balotelli' as his shirt name. Balotelli was born in Sicily as Mario Barwuah to parents of Ghanaian descent. His African heritage is now being stressed days after Balotelli said in an interview that he will walk off the field if he is racially abused at Euro 2012. He took the name Balotelli from his foster parents in Brescia, who brought him up after he became ill as a toddler. He only uses the Balotelli name on his shirt when playing for Manchester City. Italy starts their Group C campaign against Spain on Sunday in Gdansk. UEFA's list also shows how Denmark has solved the issue of identifying three players called Poulsen in its 23-man squad. Christian Poulsen will wear 'Chr. Poulsen', Jakob Poulsen will have 'J. Poulsen' and Simon Busk Poulsen will wear 'Busk Poulsen.' England winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will have only 'Chamberlain' on his shirt.
