Swiftboy: Over-due or what? I cant hear you well! @OP dont tell me you're in support of this useless government! The Nigerian students are the most foolish one to say the least! By now I expect SUG to lead a protest to join ASUU in support for a just cause! This FG is a joke! How dare you threaten ASUU when they only ask for written documents necessary to end the strike for good? GEJ has failed us...Is it too much to ask that the govt do the necessary? Put their money where their mouth is instead of lying and playing politics about everything! Where is the agreement made to the health workers? Where is the implementation made to ASUP? Where is the promise of power supply? I voted GEJ cos I tot he's the man to cause the change we all deserve but now,he's tricky! Some say because the meeting lasted for 13 hours should automatically end the strike when FG intend not to honour the agreements just like in 2009,2012 this is 2013 still on another agreement level.when are we going to continue this moving in a circle. If government sack every lecturer, whats the guarantee that the new ASUU wont be formed to protect its interests from ever un-serious FG! ASUU need to call those Universities that have resumed back to the strike, this FG is not serious!
that is my own personal opinion, but let us state some facts here, the law states that if after 3months a union on strike fails to call-off then they would have to forfeit their salary, and see it as part of their struggle, and again i agree that FG has been irresponsible, but this government has tried frantically to end the strike right from its onset, and so far so good has tried compared to previous administrations, and ASUU has also gone against its own rule of engagement, the NEC is meant to collate the result of branches and announce its result,so far so good 60percent voted for its call-off,why are the branches chairmen and some few elements overiding the majority?.
Nairalanders, lets have more opinions, share your views,as we await December 4..

humblesteve: yeah you are right, but I still doubt the possibility of that happening, remember you are dealing with with learned men/woman there's no way that could happen declaring of million positions vacant.

this will warrant them taking fg to court which will still delay the whole thing.

my opinion tho

good morning everyone
if dy should take FG to court,it may take up to 5years before the court up to d supreme will finish the case, tsebi na Nigerian court, and am sure that courts wouldn't order status-quo,because that will mean d strike goes on and fg can't recruit new lecturers.
MY OPINION THO
EducationNairaland Reports: Nigerians React To Fg Order On Reopening Of Universities by Otunbalarry(op): 6:33am On Nov 29, 2013
It is no longer news that the federal government has ordered the reopening of all federal universities and the resumption to work of all academic staffs, and any staff who fails to comply with this directive on or before Dec4 would automatically loose his/her job.
Lets share our view on this development,do you support the FG,regarding its latest action or not.As for me i think FG'S directive has been long overdue.Leaving sentiments nobody is bigger than Nigeria and thats what we should let ASUU know, students have suffered enough.
What's your own view?

1)my angel,i have come to realise that, its so natural,i am meant for you,you are meant for me...
2) so many nights i have spent thinking of how much i love you,and how we would build our world.
3) there is always an 'i love you' behind every 'i don't care',there is always 'i will miss you' behind every 'Goodbye' there always a 'u hurt me' behind every 'i never loved you'.There is always emotion attached to every commotion in love.

The academic staff union of universities is seeking audience with president Jonathan so as to table the last demands of the union before the strike will be called off, they also requested that NLC president should be present in the meeting, while the attorney general of the federation should be present in the meeting.
It has also been revealed that the death of Iyayi has deepened the union's resolve to get fg's 100percent commitment before calling off the strike. No date has been fixed for the meeting.

I had an opportunity of meeting someone who is aspiring to be the local government chairman in my area.
While i was chatting with him,i asked him what he planned to do once he gets into office,to my suprise,he said 'let me get into office first, then i will draft my plan'. Imagine a local government chairman 'to be' who doesn't have a manifesto, what does he have to offer?the problem is that he belongs to a popular political party, and will likely to get elected.
I went further by asking him what he intends to do with the local government finance department. He said he will have to make a friend the head of the department,he told me that he intends recouping the amount he spent on campaign,so that place has to be manned by someone trustworthy and who will co-operate.
Now what's the fate of citizens of the local government when such a man gets into government..
Sorry, for the delay in updating,i was indisposed..

wasak: Iba town Osun state!!! Olugbuyi royal family!!!
Iba town was founded by Akerewogbowin a hunter who came all the way from Ife! he had seven children among whom is Aina, people from other towns also traced his step and. started settling at Iba. there was a time a fire incident occurred and burned his palace to. Ashes, his sons were busy packing valuables like crown and treasures from the palace, while only Aina was concerned about their father, she went ahead to rescue him since he was too old to walk and since then he made a rule that all Aina's descendants have title to the throne and that any of Aina's descendants who attain the throne will spend at least 30 years before they die, quite surprisingly , Three of Aina's descendants have attained the throne and the least of their reign is 38 years.....If I may add, I'm a descendant of Aina....
Hmm the story is interesting and touchy, but the gr8test thing is that you are from osunstate, and you've just cnfirmd dat we osun indigenes have great history and heritage..

This thread is created to mainly celebrate our home-town, let's drop the name of our village, and those moments you remember about your village,or have you not even been to your village before, this is an opportunity to meet someone who is from your village.

Do you also know your oriki? Hmmmmmmm. I am from osun state, from Apomu to be precise, from Agbole ooosa. The village that God has blessed with abundant agricultural resources, the village that chicken meat is so cheap that it is used as toothbrush, the village that has its history and name written in Gold, don't let me brag too much about my village.

WHICH VILLAGE ARE YOU FROM?

Once a young man, hardworking and God-fearing worked for ten years. After ten years he had 500,000naira in his Bank account, towards the end of his tenth year working,he met a lady he fell in love with, and he never wanted to hurt the lady, not even once!.
After 5months of their relationship, the lady told him that she has financial difficulty and need 700,000 naira,to complete her project at school, and pay up some outstanding bills, she pleaded with the guy that he should help her, with whatever amount, that even if it is 600,000naira,she would appreciate. The guy was unhappy at this situation knowing that the lady needed this money within two weeks, hmmmm,he decided to withdraw all his life savings for the lady's sake,he withdrew the money and paid into the lady's account, the lady appreciated this alot, but still said 'you should have borrowed a hundred thousand naira more to make it six hundred thousand'on hearing this the guy was annoyed, but hid his annoyance.
My question now is that, was the lady being greedy,or was she right with what she said, and if you had been in the guy's position what would you have done?
Nairalanders, what are your opinions? Please drop your comments,i will highly appreciate them..

They say am always overconfident, but i tell them 'I BELEIVE IN MYSELF' i even believe that the impossible can become possible,i always tell myself,am not the best but am better than the rest,i believe future is bright, but that doesn't mean i shouldn't work hard, people like me and they love been around me but that doesn't mean i should take them for granted,am having challenges doesn't mean i wouldn't be victorious,ASUU is on strike, doesn't mean i wouldn't graduate,i am not rich now doesn't mean i will be poor forever, everything is going on smoothly doesnt mean all that glitters is Gold.
'I am better than the rest, doesnt mean i can't learn from the rest', i am still young doesn't mean i dont know what love is,i love my family and my family loves me,but that doesn't mean i should take them for granted.
My Dad isnt Bill Gates or Dangnte, but that doesn't mean am not satisfied with what i have. What am trying to point out here is that 'Be yourself, know the boundaries in life' life is good when you want it to be good...

The cries of women was high, wailing and tears all over, the brave men gave their lives, the cowards ran helter, skelter, the atheists started calling God's name. The great sinners started confessing, mothers held tight to their children ready to give their life for the sake of their future.swords and clubs was the order of the day.
A day rain refused to fall, even the stars were crying because future genius were being killed but the main trouble makers were nowhere to be found, children of common men died for just nothing.
The consequence of war is graver and harder than the cause of war.
O ye men,the mighty are falling, the future is being quashed, war against humanity is war against divinity but at the end supremity takes the order of the day!

God has given me superiority over enemity.
He has turned my debacle to miracle.
God has made my misery become victory.
My misery has become history.
I wouldn't have any trouble and i wouldn't fumble because it is my time to bubble.
He has given me the power of Divinity and sustainability over all my incapabilities.
I can never get tired because he has refired me and though people have conspired i will never retire.
Its not that am fumbling bt its my time to succeed!

2) There are two things in the world which make me wake-up,the alarm clock and your name.
3) Open the window and let the fresh morning air in!.The shining sun'll say that i'm in love with you.
4) I met you in my dream this night hand-in-hand,we were soaring in cloudless sky,we were very tight.
Oh,why must always come,morning?

Such is the power of mediocrity in Nigeria,i had an opportunity of meeting a man who wants to contest for the post of councilor in my local government.
We were chatting and i just asked him what he intends to do when he gets into office (That is if he wins),he just laughed and looked at me in a funny way, after a while he said the first thing he plans to do is to sack all workers he meets in office,i was perplexed and ask him why he intends to do this,he told me plainly that he intends to fill those positions with his friends and close ones,he said if he could do this he will have free access to vital informations especially the one that concerns how money comes in and goes out.
He said he intends getting all the money he will use in campaigning back within 6months once he gets into office,my question now and the food for thought is that if a councillor could plan to do that, what will a local government chairman do or even governors?
