Business / Re: Rochas Sells Adapalm To Himself ! by Otunne1: 3:08pm On Nov 06, 2011
@at all, please adapalm was not sold permanently to roche company, they only rented adapalm, and will be paying imo state govt 3.5bn yearly. Meanwhile this is a great move, considering the fact that adapalm used to yield less than 300m per year. The roche group is also going to employ about 1500 imolites(better than the 10,000 job non sense).

rhymz:

I watched him yesterday with enthusiasm on AIT addressing Imilites about his 100days achievments, the man is a fire brand. He knows his onions like the back of his hands; this man did not need the aid of any written compilation to talk about his achievments, it was more like an intellectual discussion session. And when you think he wont address certain issues, right there he disappoints you; am talking about road construction and rehabilitation which some imolites think he is not giving enough attention. He told imolites that the reason his government has not taken it by the jugular was because of the raining season, however, there is already a program dedicated to road rehabilitation which they call Zero Pothole and from what my brother has said, it has been very successful especially in owerri. The controversial stipend to secondary and primary sch student was a gesture to promote attendance, it is not enuogh to force parents to enrole their childrien in school whether such childrien are willing or not. Incentives like the stipend (which students can only earn after it has been ascertained that they attended classes full in the months) have the positive effect of heightening attendance and creating enthusiasm in the child for education. He is not in denial that some people think that such unconventional policy is a waste as he has warned both teachers, aids and commissioners that should there be a case of corruption in the program, he will disgrace them out of office. He did not forget to warn his aids and commissioners who connive with traditional rulers to play politics, he told in strong words how he will deal ruthlessly with such elements when they are found out. He told the traditional rulers that they must not get involved in politics if they want to remain as traditional rulers. The man spoke with passion, oratory and charisma of a true leader, he knows the problem of the state and did not need any written aid to help him discuss it. Rochas Okorocha is my man!
what more can i say. Meanwhile i saw engineers in my area about 2 days ago, and today they started work already. Which means am about to benefit in the operation zero pothole program

PROUD-IGBO:

Good on them.

^^^Sorry, how much does Imo generate a month?
i cant b 100% sure 4 now, but during ohakims era, imo was getting over 1bn as igr. At a time they even targeted 5bn monthly

Politics / Re: Gov Okorocha Sponsors 60 Imo Students To The US by Otunne1: 10:30pm On Oct 31, 2011
@ekt_bear, dnt worry about the primary and secondary schools, something has been done, which will manifest very soon(building of 305 new primary schools, europian standard, and the release of 2bn monthly, for renovation of old ones)

@micawber it is only a mad man that will compare rochas with ohakim your godfather. I am a full nwa afu 4rm njaba. Rochas has actually done well 4 imsu so far, 1st by getting rid of nwaebo as vc, 2nd by increasing imsu monthly subvention 4rm 57 million to 100 million and he is still willing to do more, 3rd while you told us that he ask imsu mgt to generate funds internally, you did not tell us that at the same time and place he approved over 200 million grant for the school, and promised fix their electricity and water problem. Unlike ohakigi your godfather who did not put a single block in imsu. Sorry for your brother(a victim of 10,000 job non sense)
Politics / Re: Okorocha Signs N20,000 Minimum Wage For Imo Workers by Otunne1: 9:46pm On Oct 25, 2011
@Eko ile am in owerri and am in a good position to give you first hand info. On friday, the office of the s.s.g made a press release that the state govt has paid the sum of 4bn out of 9b for the project. So its no longer an arrangement, but the project is very much underway.
Politics / Re: Okorocha Signs N20,000 Minimum Wage For Imo Workers by Otunne1: 6:08pm On Oct 25, 2011
@arusi okija & hugohoi, the secret to rochas success is not really how much he is recieving from federal allocation, nor imo igr. According to him, imo now saved more than 1bn every month 4rm ghost workers and other questionable expenses during the last administration. So with this, tell me how he cannot pay 20k.     @eko ile i laugh when people say rochas does not have vision. Rochas  #1 priority is education, and he has been doing just fine in that area. Before now imo student (in secondary schools used to pay 21,000 per year, and ohakim wanted to increase it to 29,000.) so the free education thing is a huge relief to poor parent who may have up to 2,3 or 4 kids in secondry school. Imo state govt has entered into an agreement to construct 15km road each in all the 27 local govts in imo state.just last week, the  govt award the contract to build 305 new primary sbhools(1 in every inec ward) whìch will be Europian standard. He has just made the state university a multi campus school and work is ongoing at the new sites in orlu and okigwe. The imo college of advance professional studies is under construction, and will be finished very soon. So what do people want this man to do, is he  going heaven on earth before people will believe he is doing something.
