Oga I have been handling the salary of Nigerian army for years and this is consolidated salary unless you mean allowances like daily allowance they get in war front or UN mission, there is nothing like basic salary everything is lumped. And to be honest I can lecture the op on this as he clearly posted from a website

Furthermore I don't know what you mean by small, do you know what fresh graduates earn in civil service ? Or even their perm sect ? Perm sect consolidated salary is no more than that. Of colonel when by rank a perm sect is equivalent of Major general.

It is their consolidated salary. My immediate younger brother is a captain. When he was injured I was the one doing the running around for him, each month about 220k enters his account as salary from the Nigerian military.

This is true, it is their take home pay including allowances monthly(Consolidated salary). They get different travelling and schooling allowances though. My younger brother is a Captain.

This is a very big salary compared to that of their American and Canadian counterparts.

The only difference is that American soldiers do get some benefits when they buy things with their army credit card; they get discount.

And their life insurance is very high that some of their wives do plan to kill their hubby if they discover he used them as next of kin


Again, if u add their allowances, you will then know that they are well paid.

Any employee in Nigeria with basic salary above 50k will be going home with more 100k.

And these guys earning 40 - 55k as basic salary usually enter the army with ordinary WAEC and nothing more.

Those ones earning between 80k - 150k as basic salary will be going home with at least 150 - 280k if u add their allowances....so they are very well paid.


The people that need their pay reviewed in Nigeria are the Police men not army

The problem the north have is: mass illiteracy + Islam + poverty = atomic time bomb

To solve the problem of northern people, they must change their religious belief to either:

1. Christianity to enable them embrace peace, dialogue and westernization that comes with financial-growth thinking and human development rather than holding so strong on an archaic religion that:

- sidelines women
- promotes violence
- encourage polygamy hence overpopulation
- religious education hence illiteracy and extremism
- hates western education which means they hate progress/development
- promotes sectionalism and domination by force

2. Budha
3. Hinduism
4. Atheism
5. Paganism


Until northern elites sit back and re-examine the effect of their middle east-adopted religion on their regions progress, they will never believe that they are really dragging Nigeria backward.

Unfortunately, the same religion is spreading fast in Yoruba land.....and only time will tell the Yorubas that some religion are synonymous with violence and under-development.

If not for that religion, Middle East would have been more developed than Europe today

It's so sad that when Nigeria struggles to take a step forward, Hausa/Fulani makes effort to drag Nigeria four-steps backward


Be you Igbo, Yoruba, Ijaw, Bini, Idoma, Hausa, Fulani, Urhobo, etc....please we all must condemn Hausa/Fulani supremacy thinking and clamor to dominate Nigeria....it will only burn down this country with time!

Hausa/Fulani must realise that no tribe now has the monopoly of violence!

You must respect your host community....they should learn from Igbos....Hausa/Fulani will attack strangers and visitors in their own land and also attack communities hosting and accommodating them, for what na It's very wrong!!!

Hi guys, I just want your honest advice as I am new here

My boyfriend recently broke up with me, I really love him (deeply) and he claimed he loved me too. we dated before 4years ago and we got back together in June 2015. Things has been going well between us, he introduced me to all his family and extended and marriage plans were on the way.He promised me marriage ( Don't get me wrong he did not propose) but we talk marriage everyday, future plans, we have planned the wedding and even started looking at venue. We were already planning on getting our first house together, deposit etc.. and things are all in place.
unfortunately he caught me checking his phone (He has been flirting with other girls) and I set him up, even though he played right into my hands he found out that set him up and he got really annoyed and told his family about it and said he needs time to think about the relationship because I invaded his privacy and set him up and for that reason he is not safe with me.

few days later he came back saying he owe me an apology that when we got back together last year it was not genuine, he was bored, he was pressured to get married and he saw that I was available at the time based on my predicament (I came out of an hurtful marriage) so he felt like he should just be with me since we have dated before.

I felt really hurt and used, even though it was my fault for checking his phone I begged him to take me back but he refused, I have been struggling to deal with the pain as I do not want to lose him.
I have been cursing him everyday ( as long as he lives unless he comes back to beg me, he will never experience true love from a woman every again) because he failed in his words and I felt like he used me for those reasons he gave.

please am I right in cursing him or should I just leave him and let him be, I really love him and I am hurting, because he failed to address the fact that he was flirting and his family are so biased as well
