allen113:Well noted. Thanks for the clarification. |
jmoore:Why did he lose the case? Enlighten me, I want to learn. |
UnlimitedNG:You are right. I guess it is because it is in the wrong section. Most topics here don't get to the front page because they are mostly adverts. |
@Moderators, please push to the front page so that many people can benefit from this. |
OkanlawonB:When has the installation of solar panel become a major alteration to a rented property? Real or not real story, I think the message is clear. I believe stories like this can happen for real, they are here so that we can learn and not be the victim. I live in a house where almost all the tenants have solar panel installed and there is no problem at all because the installations are well structured. The landlord started it and we all embraced the idea, so he has no reason at all to complain. Solar energy is now becoming a reality in Nigeria, even our Aso Rock is presently fully powered by Solar. If any landlord is still living in the 18th century and thinks he could disturb any tenant from using solar energy, he should be prepared to face whatever comes out from it. He who has ears, let him hear. |
POISON THAT KILLS MEN Once upon a time a beautiful girl got tired of her marriage life and wanted to murder her spouse. One morning she ran to her mother and say to her " mother, I am tired of my husband I can no longer support his nonsense. I want to kill him but I am afraid Law of the land will hold me responsible, can you please help me mother?" The mother answered: - Yes my daughter I can help you, but, there is a little task attached. The daughter asked "what task? I am willing and ready to assume any task attached in order to get him out" OK, said the mother, 1.You will have to make peace with him, so that no one will suspect you when he is dead. 2. You will have to beautify yourself in order to look young and attractive to him 3. You have to take good care of him and be very nice and appreciative to him 4. You have to be patient, loving and less jealous, have more listening ears, be more respectful and obedient 5. Spend your money for him and don’t get angry even when he rto give you money for whatever 6. Don’t raise your voice against but encourage Peace and love so that you will never be suspected when he must have died. Can you do all of that? Asked the mother. Yes i can. She replied OK, said the mother. Take this powder and pour a bit in his every day meal, it will slowly kill him. After 30 days the lady came back to her mother and said. Mother, I have no intention of killing my husband again. As of now I have grown to love him because he has completely changed, he is now a very sweet husband than I ever imagined. What can i do to stop the poison from killing him? Please help me mother. She pleaded in a sorrowful tone. The mother answered; Do not worry my daughter. What I gave you the other day was just Tumeric Powder. It will never kill him. In reality, you were the poison that was slowly killing your husband with tension and dispassion. It was when you started loving, honouring and cherishing him that you saw him change to a nice and sweet husband. Men are not really wicked, but our way of relating with them determines their responses and feelings towards us. Women if you can only show respect, dedication, love, care and commitment to your husband he will 100% be there for you. ❤️

A photograph taken on September 8, 1967, captures a young Enoch Adejare Adeboye with his bride, Foluke Adenike Adeboye (née Adeyokunnu), on their wedding day. The couple were 25 and 19 years old when they exchanged vows in a civil marriage ceremony, marking the beginning of a lifelong partnership that would later become widely known across Nigeria’s Christian community. The young man in the photograph would go on to become one of the most influential Pentecostal leaders in Africa, serving as the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, while his wife remained a strong pillar beside him through decades of ministry and family life. Today, the image stands as a quiet reminder of their humble beginnings—long before their names became known around the world. Your Glory will shine in the Mighty name of Jesus.

UnbiasTruth:You are right, it has become the norm now to occupy a position and fix your children in the system after you leave. It may be good for most professionals but not for politics. |
Did you know that Chief Obafemi Awolowo foresaw the current happenings in Northern Nigeria? Read what he once said: ”In 1959, during the election that was to usher in independence in 1960, I embarked on an elaborate campaign in the North. I was using helicopter to campaign in every nook and corner of the North. The most important aspect of the campaign of the Action Group was free education, life more abundant for the generality of the people etc, etc. Our manifesto was centred on the development of man. We worked so hard that the Sardauna of Sokoto, Ahmadu Bello, was førced to campaign, a thing he was never used to. My hope at that time was to liberate the North from illiteracy, ignørance and the 'ranka dede' mentality. If I had won the election, I would have put a lot of money educating the North in order to bridge the educational gap between that region and the Western and Eastern Regions. This was because I saw the lack of education as a stumbling block against political enlightenment of the whole region. “...But I think that the sooner than later the leaders of the North will see the repercuss!on of their self!shness and carelessness in their attitude towards Western education. But the time will not be too late, and if they don’t regret it or blame themselves for lack of foresight, the Northern youth may ask their leaders some questions when they see the rate of development that goes with education in many parts of Southern Nigeria. They may then wonder whether it was in their stars or in the selfishness, carelessness and lack of foresight of their leaders. If I had been given the chance in 1959 or 1979, I would have changed the fortunes of the North as a place that can be compared favourably with the South in terms of educational, social and economic developments.” Chief Obafemi Awolowo was born on this day (March 6), 1909. He would have been 117 years old today.

Cyberterror:Not his friend 🚫. Tunji Disu is his senior colleague or elder ✅. |
Well done. One of the service providers you recommended up there is my trusted plug with a remarkable service. I give them 💯 quality assurance. |
If this is true, that means Simi will be going through a lot right now. She hasn't even found how to calm the recent backlash from her old tweets, now this is another fire blazing high...may God see her true. I think she really needs Adekunle Gold at this trying moment of her life...they can both walk it through. Yes they can! |
Tony Elumelu with his friend during his NYSC days in Sokoto, 1985, a fresh graduate without employment yet. After his NYSC, he was unsure about the next steps but he believed that wherever he finds himself he would always stand out through hard work and resilience. A few years later, after his Masters, Tony Elumelu saw an application for graduates with a minimum of 2:1 in All States Trust Bank, this aligned with what he wanted for his life, but his 2:2 grade did not make him qualified, still, he applied, because he knew what he wanted in life and was going to work towards it. He had always admired the banking profession. Tony Elumelu loved that the guys in the profession were always impeccably dressed and wanted to look like them. He then put in the application and said “Even though I do not meet these requirements if you give me the chance, I will prove myself. I got the job and spent every day proving myself and earning my luck in the bank." I don't know what you're going through now or what you've gone through but you have the power and choice to overcome it. Don't let anything stop you from realizing your dreams. The world needs you. Today, Tony Elumelu is a source of elevation and inspiration for many in Nigeria and beyond.

This is how a typical Nigerian eats… and how a future diabetic is unknowingly created. Look closely: → Plenty white rice (high GI carbs) → Beans (great fiber, but combined with rice = carb overload) → Stew swimming in oil and seasoning cubes → One egg (just one!) to fight all this sugar? Not enough. Here’s the bitter truth: This plate looks “balanced” to the average Nigerian. But metabolically? → Your blood sugar spikes. → Your insulin works overtime. → Day after day, month after month… insulin resistance creeps in. → Until one day, your fasting blood sugar refuses to come down. It doesn’t happen overnight. It happens quietly, with plates like this, every day. I’m not saying never eat rice. I’m saying portion control and plate balance with veggies and protein is survival in this modern food war. If your grandparents could eat like this and stay healthy(of course they weren’t), it’s because, ✔ They walked more. ✔ They didn’t snack all day. ✔ They weren’t drowning in processed oils and seasoning cubes. You? You sit 10 hours a day, drive everywhere, snack endlessly, and eat like a village farmer. Something has to change. Before your body forces you to change. Can you easily relate?

Meet Yusuf Bilesanmi, a Nigerian engineer who has won the One to Watch Award at the Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation for his creation of "ShiVent", a low-cost, non-electric device ventilator that is efficient in its use of oxygen. Yusuf Bilesanmi is a 37-year-old Nigerian who came from a humble background. He had his first degree at Lagos State University where he studied Law before he switched paths later to Science and Engineering. ShiVent is a low-cost, non-electric, and non-invasive ventilator for patients with respiratory difficulties. Explaining how it works, he said, "ShiVent does not require electricity, it is easy to install, non-invasive, and oxygen-efficient, and our belief is that it will help save lives when more expensive or oxygen-intensive technologies can't get to patients. Well done Yusuf 👏

Moderators of the Health and Career section are not fully active. There are some important threads that they fail to move to front page even after calling their attention to it. Also, monetization of front page contents for the posters is not a bad idea because some people put extra efforts to prepare the contents that they post on each section. I think I have an idea to make the monetization process easier; let the criteria for being a moderator be based on the number of front page worthy post a poster has made. For example, you may say, if you have up to 20 posts that have made front page within a particular period, you would be automatically eligible to become a moderator. Then your moderators could go through some training to know more about the work culture and ethics of the forum. After that, you can put them on weekly or monthly payment with a target of post to make on a daily or periodic basis. This will make posting of contents look more original, professional, competitive and entertaining with different styles and enthusiasm because of the money involved. Then as for the advertisement which is the soul of the forum. I suggest that there should be some sponsored adverts in form of thread and not just the usual advert banners on top of the thread section. When visiting each page, many people like me just focus on the thread section and read through the lines of each thread without looking up for advert. To be sincere with you, I cant remember the last time I have seen or glanced at any advert here on Nairaland but I am active on the pages everyday. Let the attention of advert be diverted to sponsored posts. The advertiser con choose to write the content and use some images (graphics) as illustration. Advertisers can also consult the moderators for creation of contents of sponsored post. This is another way for moderators to earn money. Let me stop here for now and allow other users to make suggestions. I hope these help. |
Cyberterror:Exactly what I am thinking too. What does an Igbo IG have to do with the many problems of Igbo people in Nigeria today? If e reach Peter Obi's turn make he make Hausa man or Yoruba man his IG. ![]() |
All we want is someone who can help solve the problem of insecurity in the country. We need solution, action and effectiveness...Yoruba IG, Igbo or Hausa is political, all we want is a secured nation free from crime, corruption and insurgency. |
9jatriot:You are right, anything can actually happen these days with the effects of "Hay Hi" prompts...you can tweak it to get whatever you want. This may be one of the magical effects of our new reality. |
Congratulations Sir! To whom much is given, much is expected. Nigeria needs you to work hand-in-hand with other forces to actualize a well secured nation free from corrupt people and system. The bad eggs need to be flushed out of the system. I hopen and pray that you won't disappoint yourself, your family and the posterity. |
seunjungle1:"More worser" is wrong, they are both comparative...the same way you can't use "more better" in a sentence. Next time, use "worse". |
InvestSmart:"More worser" is wrong, they are both comparative...the same way you can't use "more better" in a sentence. Next time, use "worse". |
This explains why a critic or an activist can't ever be a good leader...don't ask me why. Ask Late Tai Sholarin, Late Gani Fawehinmi, Adams Oshiomole, Dele Farotimi, Peter Obi, Late Odumegu Ojukwu, Mazi Namdi Kanu, El- Rufai, Late Fela Anikulapo and others... |
Brilliant point! Can a Prime Minister in Britain ask the Queen or King to stand as a sign of respect or greeting? Those who brought the civilization wouldn't even accept this rubbish in their country but want to run it here. They intentionally put the politicians ahead of our traditional rulers because they want to kill our tradition and make it inferior. The old nationalists didn't challenge this system...this is why I say that we are not still fully independent from their control. |
JapaToDNext:You are right my dear. Good thinking...I appreciate the fact that you didn't put the blame on the lady just like many others up there. |
We find it easy to celebrate sports men and women, entertainers and politicians but it is a pity that people like these are not usually celebrated in this part of the world. You complain about insecurity but you don't celebrate people who make extra efforts while you are sleeping and snoring to ensure your safety. You keep complaining about poor education but you fail to celebrate your Professors, scholars and educationists...I know that one day, we will all get it right in this country. |
I still don't know why this thread is not front page worthy. @Admin |
Brendaniel:What do you know better? You go explain tire... |
ChizzyBuna:You didn't try at all. We know your type. Nothing stopped you from helping him if he was truly your bestie. What happend to "...Friends for Life!" You no be better person. |
He is not the state governor or president but he has done his part in building the nation, not minding how small or insignificant his impact is on the economy at large. If only everyone can choose to contribute to nation building like this without waiting for anybody, the country will be better for us all. |
Sonnobax15:What is this one saying sef? How sure are you that the HR is a guy or lady? What if the HR is a lady? Also, who actually breached a contract in the real sense? Was there any official contract between the guy and the lady? If you don't have anything reasonable, you could have just kept mute and pretend to be intelligent. Your comment above speaks a lot about your personality and gender orientation. Is the guy expected to invite his co-worker to a hotel in the first place? Sincerely, I think that really served him well. Next time, if he is lucky to find another job anytime soon, he will learn how to mind his business at work and take his flirty game outside the office corridor. |
Hello Niralanders, as you chase your dreams abroad, don't forget the people and place that made you. Home is where the heart is, and it's the friends and family that make it truly special. Don't let comfort and distance make you forget where you came from. One day, you'll be old and ready to come back home, but if you've lost touch with loved ones, you'll be left with empty memories. Hold on to home, and the people who truly care about you 🌍.
