PoliticsNigeria's Rising Global Spotlight: Let's Guard Against Chains Tomorrow by OverCalculating(op): 8:47am On Feb 10
I saw this online today on Facebook and I think our government really has to be careful about the recent attractions from the World powers. What's your view about it?

Nigeria's Rising Global Spotlight: Honour Today, But Guard Against Chains Tomorrow

Nigeria’s growing visibility on the world stage shows that when a country is doing relatively well, it naturally attracts the attention of powerful nations and global leaders—but it must negotiate such attention with wisdom, so that honour does not quietly turn into bondage.

Recent developments show that Nigeria is regaining strategic relevance in global politics and economics.President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been invited for a full State Visit to the United Kingdom in March 2026, the first time a Nigerian leader will receive this honour in 37 years, with King Charles and Queen Camilla hosting him at Windsor Castle. This kind of ceremonial recognition is usually reserved for countries considered important partners in trade, security, and regional influence.

At the same time, Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has increasingly appeared at high‑profile international events, reflecting renewed diplomatic engagement with top leaders, including the current US administration under President Donald Trump. Such visibility signals that other nations now see Nigeria not just as a troubled state, but as a potential partner they must court in order to secure their own strategic interests in West Africa and beyond.

Global attention is rarely emotional; it follows numbers, markets, and opportunities. Nigeria’s economy grew by about 3.4% in 2024, its strongest performance in several years, driven largely by services and non‑oil sectors, after years of slower growth and recession. After a GDP rebasing exercise, Nigeria’s nominal output rose to roughly ₦372.8 trillion in 2024, reinforcing its position as one of Africa’s largest economies.

Foreign investors are also gradually returning. Data show that foreign direct investment, which had fallen sharply and even recorded negative net flows in 2022, has started to recover, with inflows turning positive again in 2024 and 2025 and reaching several hundred million dollars in a single quarter. Even though FDI is still modest at around 0.6% of GDP, any turnaround from capital flight to capital inflow is enough to signal to world powers that Nigeria is again a market they cannot ignore.

History shows that once a country begins to stabilise and grow, powerful nations rush to deepen ties—not out of love, but out of enlightened self‑interest. The UK’s decision to grant Nigeria a rare State Visit after almost four decades is not just about courtesy; it reflects London’s desire to secure trade, investment, energy, and security partnerships with West Africa’s largest population and one of its biggest economies. Likewise, as Nigeria improves revenue collection and seeks to diversify away from oil, it becomes more attractive to global companies in technology, finance, agriculture, and infrastructure who see a huge consumer market of over 200 million people.

In the same way that fast‑growing Asian economies once shifted from being aid recipients to investment magnets, Nigeria’s gradual improvement in growth and reforms makes it a hub for diplomatic visits, summits, and high‑level honours. World leaders want to stand beside nations that are rising, because photo‑ops with successful partners send a positive message back home to their own citizens, investors, and media.

However, global attention is not neutral; behind every handshake there is a draft agreement, and behind every state banquet there is a strategic calculation. When foreign powers see Nigeria growing again and becoming more stable, they also see a fresh opportunity to lock in favourable trade terms, long‑term resource contracts, and security arrangements that may benefit them more than Nigerians in the long run. Many developing countries have learnt the hard way that poorly negotiated loans, defence pacts, and investment treaties can mortgage future generations through unsustainable debt and unfair concessions.

Nigeria itself has experienced episodes of heavy external borrowing and rising debt‑service costs, which limit funds for education, health, and infrastructure and can create a subtle form of economic dependency. If policymakers sign agreements in the euphoria of international recognition—without full cost–benefit analysis, parliamentary scrutiny, and public debate, our new visibility could quietly translate into fresh layers of financial, technological, and even digital slavery.

For Nigerians at home and in the diaspora, these honours should be seen as encouragement, but also as a sober warning. The government must insist on transparent terms in every memorandum of understanding, trade deal, security cooperation, or infrastructure contract, ensuring that no clause undermines sovereignty, mortgages natural resources unfairly, or traps the country in endless repayment cycles. Lawmakers, civil society, the media and diaspora professionals should demand full disclosure of major agreements and independently assess their long‑term impact on jobs, industry, technology transfer, and national security.

Nigeria’s rising profile is a sign that the country is doing better than before—but real success will be measured not by how many foreign leaders roll out red carpets for us, but by how wisely our leaders protect the freedom, dignity and future prosperity of ordinary Nigerians. Honour without vigilance can lead to subtle captivity; honour with wisdom can turn this moment of global attraction into a new season of genuine progress for generations to come.

HealthLearn How Numerous Antivenom (life-saving Serum) Are Produced From A Horse by OverCalculating(op): 8:04am On Feb 10
The world's most poisonous snake can kill even an elephant, but there is one animal that survives, the horse!

Did you know? No matter how deadly a snake is, even the fearsome king cobra, a horse doesn't die from its bite. After the bite, the horse may become mildly ill for about three days, but then recover completely, as if nothing had happened. This is one of nature's most incredible wonders, and hidden within this very creature lies a secret that can save human lives: the antidote.

But how is this antivenom made? First, the venom is collected from the snakes. A small amount is then injected into the horse. The horse's immune system responds and produces antibodies to neutralize the venom. After 2-3 days, these antibodies are present in the horse's blood.
Blood is then drawn from the horse and the red blood cells (RBCs) are removed. The plasma (the white part) is processed to create antivenom. This antivenom is then injected into people who have been bitten by poisonous snakes to save their lives.

In India alone, there are numerous antivenom manufacturing facilities where hundreds of horses are cared for to produce this life-saving serum. Think about it, thanks to this gentle creature, we are protected from some of the deadliest poisons on earth. Without horses, many lives would be lost from a single snake bite.

𝐎𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐨𝐦𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬

“Dear Nigerians,

I am aware of the reactions which greeted a short video of mine on a private jet with a lady which is now viral and I know many of it are negative.

Firstly, I want to inform you all that the video was a total misrepresentation of what truly transpired.

Secondly, I’m not an insensitive public office holder who will flaunt wealth and private encounters with recklessness.

Now to what truly transpired…..

As a patriotic Nigerian, and a Senator of the Federal Republic, I am duty-bound to protect and promote the sovereign integrity of Nigeria and it was in furtherance of this that I reached out to Leshaan Da Gama, a popular South African influencer and adult content creator in a bid to enlist her as an influencer on a personal funded project of mine.

In the face of the sustained allegations and narratives of “genocide against Christians in Nigeria” by American government and also not being unmindful of South Africa’s strong defiance and response to US government when it made similar allegations against the country, I thought it wise that the best person to enlist for the great task at hand is no other person than Ms. Da Gama.

Ms. Da Gama was not picked because of her contents, but for her large audience and influence on digital media space and I can reliably inform you that our conversation was engaging, intellectually stimulating and productive which hopefully will start yielding results soon.

The project at hand is an attempt and diplomacy which is funded by me. It is a rebranding campaign efforts which will be hinged on the inspiring messages produced by and pushed out by the ministry of information and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Now, I shall speak to the content of the video.

I must say that the young lady and I had mutual respect for each other and warmed up to each other as we found our personalities engaging and nothing more.

While on the plane to our destination, she complained of cramp and as I was the person close to her, she politely requested I help massage her foot to relieve the pains and cramp, and that was all I did.

At some point, the cabin crew took over but regrettably, that was not captured.

I hope my explanation of the true account of events will put an end to the needless dramatic and sensationalization of a harmless encounter.

Signed:

Senator Adams Oshiomole..."

Obrigardo:
Is bitcoin dead and gone?
A question on the lips of market watchers but none has been vocal about it yet.
After the epstein files reveal secrets about bitcoin, it's been on a freefall and no chance of coming back.

So bitcoin is actually dead?
Bitcoin's not dead, but it's definitely facing some challenges. The cryptocurrency market has been volatile, with Bitcoin's value dropping to around $67,000, losing almost half its value from its peak of over $124,000 in October.

Now, about the Epstein files: Jeffrey Epstein, the late financier, had connections to Bitcoin's early days. He invested in companies like Coinbase and Blockstream, and funded research at MIT's Digital Currency Initiative, which supported Bitcoin Core developers. However, there's no evidence Epstein was Satoshi Nakamoto, Bitcoin's mysterious creator.

The Epstein files reveal Epstein's interest in cryptocurrency and his attempts to position himself as a go-between for Bitcoin's creators. He even discussed creating a Sharia-compliant digital currency with Bitcoin's founders. Despite this, Bitcoin's decentralized design ensures no single individual, including Epstein, controls it.

If you are smart, it is a good time to buy. Buy now and thank me later...

BusinessPascal Dozie: The Nigerian Who Saw What Vodafone, AT&T Couldn't See In Nigeria by OverCalculating(op): 1:11pm On Jan 31
Pascal Dozie is the man who knew that Nigerians talk too much.

In 2001, the Nigerian government wanted to auction GSM licenses.

The price was $285 Million.

It was a ridiculous amount of money at the time.

Big global players like Vodafone and AT&T looked at the data.

They concluded: "Nigerians are poor. They live on less than $1 a day. They cannot afford mobile phones."

They walked away.

Pascal Dozie saw what they missed.

He knew that Nigerians are Communal.

We love to talk. We love to gossip. We love to connect.

He knew that a Nigerian would skip a meal just to buy airtime.

So, he decided to bet everything on MTN.

He used a strategy called The Syndicate Power.

Here is how he helped build the most profitable company in Nigeria:

1. The "Crowd-Funding" Miracle.

Pascal Dozie didn't have $285 Million in his pocket.

And foreign banks refused to lend him money for a "Risky African Project."

So, he did something old-school.

He called his friends.

He gathered a group of Nigerian investors (The "Founding Fathers" of MTN Nigeria).

He convinced them to put their own cash on the table.

He sold them a Vision, not just a Spreadsheet.

He teaches us that when the Banks say No, look to your Circle.

Your first investors are often the people who trust You, not the project.

2. The "Diamond" Standard (Technology in Banking).

Before MTN, Pascal Dozie founded Diamond Bank.

He was the first to introduce "Real-Time Online" banking in Nigeria.

Before him, if you paid money into a branch in Lagos, it took days to reflect in Kano.

He used technology to fix that.

He proved early on that Technology is the ultimate Differentiator.

He didn't build the biggest bank, but he built the most modern one at the time.

3. The "Silent" Chairman.

Pascal Dozie is rarely in the news. You won't see him fighting on Twitter or flashing cars.

He operates from the Boardroom.

He understands that real power is Governance.

He set up the structures that allowed MTN and Diamond Bank to run professionally.

He teaches us that you don't need to be the "Face" of the company to be the "Brain" of the company.

Why am I telling you this?

Many of you are discouraged by "Data."

"The economy is bad."
"People are poor."
"Nobody is buying."

Pascal Dozie teaches us to Trust our Gut.

The "Experts" (Vodafone) had the data, but they missed the culture.

Pascal Dozie knew the Culture.

He knew that Nigerians would hustle to pay for what they value.

Don't let a spreadsheet talk you out of a market you understand intuitively.

Do you need help raising capital or rallying partners for a "Crazy" idea?

If you have a vision that others think is impossible, but you know it will work, we need to talk. I help entrepreneurs structure their pitch to attract the right partners.

I hope you learned something.

Christianity EtcDid Jesus Actually Go To Hell For Two Days? Why? by OverCalculating(op): 12:31pm On Jan 31
Did Jesus Actually Go To Hell For Two Days? Why?

To answer that we must first know what “hell” really is.

Hell is NOT what most churches and religions say it is. While the word hell appears in the bible, the true meaning what “hell” is has been replaced by Greek philosophies and church doctrines based on those philosophies. A hell of eternal punishment is so ingrained in Church teaching it is almost impossible to refute it even with scripture and facts.

The word “hell” is an archaic English rendition of the Hebrew word (sheol) and the Greek word (hades) that appear in the earliest bible writings we have today. These words rendered into modern language would read, “the grave or under the ground” (sheol), “the place or location of the dead” (hades). Nothing about a place of eternal punishment. It is also taken from the Latin “inferna” which is defined as: “of or relating to a nether place of the dead, hell”. It has no relation to the English word “inferno”.

The English word ”hell” does not appear in any bible manuscripts. Hel/Hell comes from Germanic and Norse languages and beliefs that became an English word also, not the bible.

Jesus and the apostles taught that death is like sleep followed by a resurrection (See John 11:11-15).

The concept of a hell of eternal punishment existed long before Jesus and Christianity.

By the middle of the 2nd Century some church “leaders” such as Athenagorus and Tertullian began to incorporate Greek philosophies into bible teachings. This confused bible teaching with non-bible philosophies.

Athenagorus (133-190 AD), a professed Christian and a church leader but whose teachings were heavily influenced by Greek philosophies introduced Plato's teaching (circa 400 BC) of the immortal soul into Christianity. In doing so he opened the way for the adoption of Plato’s argument of eternal punishment by fire for immortal sinful souls. This came straight from Greek philosophy. Hell is the grave, nothing else.

Ecclesiastes 9:5 NKJV

5 For the living know that they will die; But the dead know nothing,
And they have no more reward, For the memory of them is forgotten.

Ecclesiastes 9:10 New King James Version

10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.

John 5:28–29 NKJV

8 Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice 29 and come forth...

Revelation 20:14-15 King James Version

14 Then death and hell were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death.

15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

These verses are very problematic for hellfire believers and teachers. Death and Hell are inanimate things which cannot be punished by fire or anything else. If hell and the lake of fire are the same thing, how can “hell” be thrown into itself??

So where was Jesus for three days and nights after his death? He was in the grave, dead. Aware of nothing. Unconscious, not breathing having no life in himself. As the bible states, “He tasted death for all of us”.

At the end of that three day, Jehovah, His Father breathed life back into Him, resurrected Jesus but not the same. When HE brought Jesus back to life HE gave Jesus immortality, life within Himself. He was now like God, eternal and everlasting having life within Himself and able to give life as His Father can.

John 5:25 Good News Translation

The Father is the source of life, and he has enabled the Son to be the source of life too.

My commentaries are supported by bible scripture (any version). They cite scripture or contain scriptural quotes, historical and translation facts. They do not present any personal or church opinions/interpretations. The readers are free to accept or reject them. There will be those that disagree, that is OK and I may choose to reply, but I do not enter into debates which are nothing more than I SAY/YOU SAY argument.

Have you ever wondered how much it takes the government to fix the grid anytime it falls? Do your research, then you would know why it can't just stop falling regularly.

The Minister/FGN really has to investigate into the matter of frequent power grid failure and come up with an effective solution or else we will keep enriching the purse of some smart dudes at the detriment of those who actually need the resources.

There are still many Nigerians struggling, searching for how to put food on their table, while some people are cashing out on a regular basis from the failure, insensitivity and carelessness of the government.

PoliticsTinubu Didn't Introduce Lagos Metroline, He Rebranded The Jakande's Metro Option by OverCalculating(op):
In 1991, Lagos traffic had become unbearable. Commuters spent hours stuck on bridges and roads, and frustration was everywhere. The Lagos State Government believed it had found a lasting solution years earlier: a metroline that would move over one million people daily and finally reduce pressure on the roads. But the project never took off.

According to Citizen:

▶️ The Lagos Metroline project, first conceived under Governor Lateef Jakande, was designed as a modern mass transit system that would run across the city at commercial speeds of about 40km/h. The plan included 30 trains, each carrying up to 570 passengers per trip, and was projected to move over a million people daily.

▶️ The contract, valued at ₦698.5 million, was awarded to Inter Infra Company of France, with the Lagos State Government providing counterpart funding. By the time the project was suspended, over ₦100 million had already been spent. Then everything collapsed.

▶️ After Jakande left office, the military administration under Commodore Mudashiru Lawal cancelled the project. The government claimed the cost was too high and that Lagos could not sustain it. The French contractors sued Nigeria and won. Lagos State eventually paid $100 million in damages for breach of contract.

▶️ Yet, years later, the traffic situation only got worse.

▶️ The much-celebrated Third Mainland Bridge expansion failed to ease congestion. Public transport remained chaotic. Buses were overcrowded. Movement across the city became a daily struggle. One commuter said, “We thought the bridge would solve everything. But two hours later, we were still here.”

▶️ Experts and planners interviewed by Citizen argued that road expansion alone could never solve Lagos traffic. The real issue, they said, was the absence of a proper mass transit system.

▶️ Former governor Jakande insisted the metroline was the right decision. He dismissed claims that the project had failed in other countries, stating clearly that the Lagos plan was different and financially viable. He maintained that if allowed to continue, the metroline would have transformed movement across the city.

▶️ Transport experts warned that without a rail-based system, Lagos would only sink deeper into congestion. Some officials proposed reviving the metroline through public shareholding or private investment, but nothing concrete followed.

Hmm, sorry to burst your bubble. The phone and network you compare with Meter are incomparable.

grin

Phone has many other functions than you just calling out.

During the early time of phone. Some of us don't load credit cos, will only receive call.

Meter in this context is totally different. It only has one JOB, metering your bill!. cool
What is the essence of phone (with active SIM card) if you don't make calls, receive calls, text, use data on social media? All these come with extra cost. Even if you don't recharge the SIM card in your mobile phone, the person that calls you from the other end is paying for the service and you are also benefiting from it. So, in more logical terms, can you clearly explain to me why you still think a mobile phone (with an active SIM card) is different from a meter?

PoliticsRe: DisCos Reject FG’s Free Meter Plan by OverCalculating(f): 7:07am On Jan 26
Why do we buy mobile phones to make calls, then buy call credits on the phone to call? Why can't the network providers provide mobile phones to us for free because it is just a device to measure the units that we used on calls.

MTN, Airtel, Glo and the rest of them have their branded mobile phones with their SIM card on it by default, yet you still have to purchase the phone before you start using it to call. So, if the government is rooting for us to get it for free, it is not because they are running a charity organization, it is just a way to make it accessible by many people. If you can't pay for the meter in bulk, there is a way the service providers can pay on your behalf as long as you remain a loyal customer to them. Last last, they will deduct the cost from the energy credits that you purchase on a long term basis. So, they are not actually paying for you, it is just a WIN/WIN game.

PoliticsRe: DisCos Reject FG’s Free Meter Plan by OverCalculating(f): 6:04am On Jan 26
This shouldn't be a problem at all. In order to avoid any avenue for some cabals to start embezzling money from a subsidised installation fee with government intervention, let the users pay the installation fee. That will be far cheaper than the cost of getting a prepaid meter. Instead of paying 150k+ for getting a new prepaid meter, I would rather pay 10k or just 20k for the installation and get the meter for free. Also, as per the MAPs (Meter Asset Providers Scheme), which is to encourage users pay for meter and get a fund through energy credits over time, why not run the scheme alongside the free meter project and make it optional for users to choose whichever plan they want based on their location and the band they belong?

Some people may find it as a better option if they have the money to pay for the meter and get energy credits in return while some people can't afford to raise the money for the meter but can pay for installation and later purchase energy credits that they need.

The Minister of power has spoken, he has taken a very bold positive step to help solve the problem of the meter distribution in Nigeria, the Discos shouldn't make this whole issue complicated for the masses. I am suspecting that this rejection is an attempt to give some people access to free money through the idea of installation subsidy which will still cause a lot of problem for the country.

HealthHere Are The Symptoms You Will Notice When It's 1 Month Before A Heart Attack by OverCalculating(op): 11:31am On Jan 25
One Month Before a Heart Attack, Your Body Will Alert You: Here Are the 6 Symptoms!

Swollen Feet

If you have congestive heart failure, your heart’s lower chambers may lose their ability to effectively pump blood. As a result, blood can accumulate in your legs.

Fatigue

When your arteries narrow, your heart receives less blood than it needs. This causes your heart to work harder than usual, resulting in excessive tiredness and drowsiness.

Shortness of breath

When your heart receives less blood, your lungs may not receive enough oxygen as well. Since these two systems are interconnected, difficulty in breathing may indicate a need for immediate medical attention,

Weakness

When your arteries narrow, it hinders proper blood circulation, leading to weakness in your body. Your muscles may not receive adequate nourishment, which can cause unexpected falls.

Dizziness and Cold Sweats

Poor circulation can restrict blood flow to your brain, posing a serious threat to your life. Initially, this may cause dizziness and clamminess.

Chest Pressure

If you are experiencing symptoms of a heart attack, you may have been feeling discomfort or pressure in your chest. This sensation will gradually intensify until the actual attack occurs.

Symptoms of Flu or Cold

If you suddenly experience symptoms of flu, it could mean that the flu is about to strike soon.

When Obasanjo criticises other politicians that they are corrupt, he seems to present himself as a Saint. However, this is just one of the many huge cases of corruption under his nose.

We know how much he stole during his Operation Feed The Nation Project. We know how much he stole from the power sector during his tenure as president. We are also aware of the landed property he acquired in Lagos, Abuja, Oyo, Ogun and other states in Nigeria.

Late PMB made us to know how he manipulated the Federal Government to pay his workers' salary...those who work at his Sango-Ota farm.

Despite all these, you would see him attack the likes of Atiku, Fayose, Tinubu, Ibori, Jonathan and others, labelling them as corrupt. He would write letters to presidents as if he had any iota of morality, honesty or interest of the Nigerian people at heart when he was also in power (during the military and civil regime).

Awujale stool: Only six out of 95 applications are complete — Kingmakers

The Chairman of the Interregnum Council and Head of Kingmakers in Ijebu-Ode, Olorogun Sonny Folorunso Kuku
…say the selection process will be fair

The kingmakers in Ijebu-Ode have disclosed that only six out of between 86 and 95 applications submitted for the vacant Awujale of Ijebuland stool are fully complete.

The Chairman of the Interregnum Council and Head of the Kingmakers, Olorogun Sonny Folorunso Kuku, made this known in an interview with Tribune Online on the progress of the selection process.

According to Kuku, although the selection process has commenced, many of the applications submitted by the ruling families were incomplete, leaving only about six that met the required documentation.

He explained that the kingmakers had already begun their deliberations but were proceeding with caution to avoid any form of bias.

Kuku said, “The families submitted between 86 and 95 names. This may sound surprising, but many of the applications were incomplete. At this point, only about six applications are fully completed.

“The kingmakers have already begun their work. Once we start, we must be extremely careful with our words and actions so as not to appear biased in any way.”

However, he revealed that the Ogun State Government had temporarily halted the process, noting that the kingmakers were yet to be informed of the exact reason for the decision.

Kuku added that the kingmakers were confident that the government was equally interested in ensuring a peaceful and credible outcome.

“However, today (Wednesday), we received a message from the government informing us that the process has been temporarily halted.

“At the moment, we do not know the exact reason for this decision. We are in contact with the government to understand why this happened and how the process can resume as quickly as possible.

“We are confident that the government is equally interested in ensuring a peaceful outcome.

“We are consulting with them, and we believe that something positive will happen very soon,” he said.

Addressing rumors of government interference or attempts to impose a candidate, Kuku dismissed the claims, stressing that the government does not sit with the kingmakers or interfere in their deliberations.

“As kingmakers, we are determined not to accept any imposition. But nothing like that has happened so far,” he stated.

He also clarified that the presence of security operatives around the palace was not intended to influence the selection process but was due to the temporary suspension of the exercise.

AWUJALE SELECTION: GOVERNOR ABIODUN RESPONDS TO MISLEADING REPORTS

Ogun State Governor, His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, has clarified circulating reports suggesting a confrontation between him and the Council of Afobajes regarding the Awujale selection. According to official sources, these claims are completely false and misleading.

The Governor held a respectful consultative meeting with the Council of Afobajes, consistent with meetings he held in the past with the Olori Ebis that were hitherto polarized which fostered their harmonization and, through such earlier engagements, he also persuaded one of the kingmakers to withdraw a filed litigation.
The discussions he had focused on matters of mutual concern in the interest of the progress in traditional affairs within Ijebuland.

Contrary to the rumors, Governor Abiodun did not issue threats, ultimatums. Statements attributed to him, including “No Kuye, No Awujale”, are entirely fabricated and bear no relation to the Governor or his administration. No Afobaje will attest to such an occurrence, as it never happened. This is once again the fabrication of falsehoods by mischief makers.

The governor remains committed to upholding due process, respecting the autonomy of traditional institutions, and ensuring a fair process in the selection of a new Awujale for Ijebu. His administration continues to prioritize dialogue, harmony, and the preservation of cultural values.

We all know how highly the Governor holds the throne of Awujale which he has consistently demonstrated .
Members of the public, traditional stakeholders, and the media are urged to disregard these unfounded insinuations and rely solely on verified information from official sources.

PoliticsHow A Nigerian Journalist Became A Spy To The United States CIA For 10 Years by OverCalculating(op): 1:34pm On Jan 19
In 1976, Sam Ogun, a Nigerian freelance journalist, confessed about how he spied on Nigeria for the United States’ Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) for nearly 10 years. He spoke with DRUM magazine.

Here is how the interview was summarised:

➡️ His work began in the early 1960s when he acted as an “information officer” for the American Motion Picture Export Company.

➡️ His handler, an American film distributor known as Jack, paid him to write reviews of foreign films published in local newspapers and forwarded to New York. That was how he was first placed on a payroll.

➡️ In 1965, Sam met a new handler, Andrew, a staff member in the political section of the US Embassy in Lagos. They held meetings at secret offices in Victoria Island and Lagos Island.

➡️ Andrew assigned him tasks: go to the University of Lagos to find out what the students' union is up to, photograph foreign diplomats and their Nigerian contacts, attend public lectures and record speeches.

➡️ Sam said he did not realise he was being used as a spy until 1968, when he was asked to sign an oath pledging not to reveal secrets of the United States government. He was trained to use a camera and a pocket-sized tape recorder designed for espionage.

➡️ His targets included foreign diplomats, trade unionists, journalists, civil servants, and students.

➡️ Colleagues grew suspicious and accused him of working for the CIA, MI5, and the KGB, accusations he consistently denied at the time.

➡️ Sam later retired as a spy and confessed because "I found out by myself the evil the CIA had been doing to Africa."

Olusegun Obasanjo, former president of Nigeria also made reference to this in his book that he had to restructure our Labour system and Union when he realized that the United States of America and The British government had much influence on the system. Now, the big question here now is WHICH OTHER SECTORS do these Western World have much influence in Nigeria? We have known about labour, what about our politics? Agricultural sector? Petroleum sector? Mineral resources? Armed Forces? Education sector? Civil Service? Are we actually free from the Colonial Beasts? Is the "Common Wealth" actually common? Is the United Nation actually united? Wetin I kukuma know se? huh

Christianity EtcPastor E. A. Adeboye: Secrets To Rising To The Top (sunday Sermon) by OverCalculating(op): 8:42am On Jan 18
SECRETS TO RISING TO THE TOP || PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE

Let me tell you the truth: what will get you to the top, like I heard one of your preachers say, is not just how many books you read. Reading is good—I have a PhD myself, so I know the value of study—but he was talking about that illiterate roadside mechanic who knows more about automobiles than the one who says he has a degree in mechanical engineering. Occasionally, it’s not how much grammar you can blow. Nothing stops the anointing. Through anointing, we make a way where there is no way.

I’ve told you before: somebody was about to be sworn in as president, and to come to such a program you had to have a special card to be allowed near at all. They had cards in all manners—A, B, C, etc. One of the bishops came to me in the hotel where I was staying, excited: “Daddy, daddy, look at my card!” It takes anointing for a bishop to call a pastor “daddy.” I hope you take note of that. It is not the title, it is the anointing.

He showed me his card, and on it was written letter A. That meant he could go far. I rejoiced with him. While we were still there, a second man of God came in, excited because his card was written “AA.” That meant he could go further. The first fellow’s face fell. Not long after, another one came in with a card “AAA.” You know what that means: when it is time for refreshment and people are moving into where they will be entertained, there is a place letter A cannot enter, a place letter AA cannot go, but AAA can.

After a lot of fun, one of them suddenly asked, “Daddy, where is your card? We want to know what is written on it.” I told them, “Me? I’m at the level where I don’t need a card. All I have to do is show up, and the man at the gate will salute.” I told him, “If I choose to go, I will be sitting on the same table with the president.” Anointing is the key.

And you don’t want ordinary portion. There is a double portion. May I submit to you, there is a portion beyond double portion. How thirsty are you? I don’t want to take too much of your time, but I’m asking you to enlarge your hunger, enlarge your thirsting, enlarge your fasting. I mentioned it during Holy Communion when I told God I don’t want to be ordinary. I want to be the best.

It was either God left me teaching mathematics, where I wanted to be the youngest vice chancellor in the world—that was all I wanted—or He said, “No, come and minister.” Then I said, “I want to be number one.” How many of you want to be the best, the very best? You shout hallelujah! And when you talk about hunger and thirst, you know we are talking about fasting. You can’t get to this goal without fasting and prayer. Even the Lord Jesus Christ said there are some demons that cannot be cast out except with prayer and fasting.

Somebody said to me, “The reason you won’t get too many young ones coming to the Redeemed Christian Church of God is that you fast too much.” I said, “Why don’t you come and see us? Come and see my youth, come and see my young adults.” Anytime I say we are not going to fast for a long time, they say, “Oh, why now?” Because they know where they are going. And in the name that is above every other name, you will reach the top.

I just want to share this one with you before concluding. I’ve just returned from Israel, where there was a program called the Feast of Tabernacles. People came from all over the world—at least 90 nations represented. And your father was the one they said should give the primary address. They had a special reception for me, never done before for anybody. When the man was introducing me, he said, “Ladies and gentlemen, we are doing this one especially because we have among us the Paramount Pastor.”

As the Lord lives who has called me, because I have prayed that my children will be greater than I, you will beat that. One precious love it. God bless you.
