Patchesagain:
The problem with Nigerians is that you use terms like "dominance" or "controll"

And then you wonder why your neighbors dont play ball?

If I had to chose between being "dominated" by Nigeria or US/France I know exactly who I would choose.

Meanwhile - SADAC is run as a collective, we dont use words like "dominance" we use words like "partner"... hence why South Africa/Botswana/Namibia are practically indistinguishable and nations like Zambia and Angola are slowly drifting into the fold.

This is also why SADAC is growing in power - soon Tanzania will complete their transition into the grouping as well. And then we will be unstoppable.

We are a collective, you are a collection of competing egos
calm down. SADAC nations have a common history, they do have worked well as a federation. SADAC nations actually have a reason to bond. We would have had a reason to bond if we had a strong enough leader to bind us together. Do not confuse issues every successful international organisation was successful because of the dominance of a single power, examples are: IMF, BRETTON WOODS and the UN.
The European concert system failed due to the absence of British dominance, the gold monetary system failed when Britain pulled out of it, the League of Nations failed because congress would not ractify America's membership. I can go on and on. In every successful international organisation there is always an hegemon a power broker.
I am not asking anybody to dominate anybody but I am just saying that is the reality of the international system

@DictatorZar thinks that international politics is like a school yard game of see-saw and skipping rope.I weep for Africa,is this the quality of graduates produced by South African universities?.
Do you think SA would have been able to do anything other than make noise if Botswana had really wanted an AFRICOM base on its soil?,SADC is different from ECOWAS,France practically rules at least 9 of the ECOWAS states; even PMB admitted it on international media.
Out of the 9 francophone 'neo-colonies' in west africa, only 4 can be said to be "moderately independent".Nigeria maintains control in ECOWAS due to its provision of electricity to all its neighbours, financial aid to ECOWAS countries, domination of trade and investment in the region, strong military presence and diplomatic clout. However,we cannot authoritatively dictate to ECOWAS governments because of the staggering degree of french neo-colonial influence,it could lead to loss of regional support.
Even the US cannot fight 9 of its neighbours simultaneously.
we could have been able to Lord over the francophone west African states if we were stronger economically. Cuba and some Caribbean American states that tried to play to the tune of the Soviet Union saw what it felt like to live in the shadow of a dominant global economic super power. Nigeria cannot be considered a power economically even in west Africa because we cannot as at yet boast of a wide reaching economic interest that cover the whole of west Africa. we are rich from an African point of view because most of the states around us are crumbling in debts but still yet. Those poor states are not completely loyal to us. Yes we can dominate francophone west Africa if we had a wide reaching economic / political dominance in the region. This small states just make their own decision because they believe that no counter action from Nigeria would scratch them economically or politically. I really wish you ve read of how much we fought against AFRICOM and how unsuccessful it was because of our fading dominance.

lol you are joking right? I meant a mobile command centre could be built on a flat bed truck, or a battle field tent. It doesn't have to be up to standard as long as it is effective and being put to good use.

If truly we have it : then that means we are not making good use of it.
thank you sir. Those situation room may just be a fancy state of the art relaxation centre for VIP's. We nor know the use. How can we have eyes in the sky and mission situation rooms being monitored by top DHQ officials and we are still talking about the NA not having a dedicated Air wing as the reason behind the lax in air support for ground troops. At this point in the battle against terror the COAS, NSA and CDS are all supposed to be monitoring every combat operation real time. We do not really need the COAS in the field, let him coordinate the operation from a real time command centre. We have given ourselves a December deadline and we do not yet know that it is high time for us to put all the resources available to use. I believe in the sub Saharan Africa Nigeria have the most advanced and diverse resources at her disposal for Geoint. But for one reason or the other we have refused to commit it to the war on ground.

We have 2 state of the art COBR facilities similar to what the British have. 1 in the DHQ and the 2nd at the Presidential villa. Those facilities provide real-time data (Video, Audio) through a satellite feed. There have also been multiple instances were it has been used.

- There is also no need for the panics, the video is just a terrorist propaganda video. It does not represent the facts on the ground.
those ones are not close to the area of operation Na. I am talking about makeshift situation rooms( could be installed in one the FOB's in the NE) it could be installed on a flat bed as a mobile command. It could even just be a small tent close the field.

Most of this things can be avoided if we have a mission situation room staffed with NA and airforce personnel. With access to direct comm and video feed to the men in the field. The video feed can be supplied by any of the small airforce tactical uav's. With this the men in the field do not really need to call in for air support before the top officials in the situation room see the need for one. In some advanced countries heads of states have been known to monitor the mission progress from such situation rooms.

those are very ambiguous citations you are giving and they do not represent any form of authority on the topic. The US and Russia were the only two Super powers after the world war so it is reasonable for the US to avoid the then communist Russia considering her capability but the post 1991 Russia was a weak Russia and was of little threat to a US that had already established military bases around her.

Russia are fond of breaching airspace.. Turkey is a sovereign state and a NATO member..
being a NATO member does not make you more sovereign. If turkey does not want her airspace breached then a simple warning would be ok. There is no need for the use of propaganda and baseless claims. A volatile Syria would not benefit turkey as it would benefit her western allies far off. If she continue to take her negative posture towards the Russian war against terror she risk losing her strong economic ties with Russia and ending up with a volatile neighborhood that would later affect her own internal security as IS in Libya is now an Egyptian national security threat. Turkey cannot afford to be pro-western in the Syrian crisis.

No pics of the shot plane, no named source of the news, no confirmation from any nation in the world, not even turkey who shot the plane etc. All are rumours which stem from a single post on social media but YOU have enough info to determine it's a Syrian Mig plane piloted by Russia?

Damn.
dude I am not confirming anything. We all know there is no report of Russian Mig's in Syria. So when the issue of MiG came up every body wondered if the Russians are now piloting the Syrian Mig's knowing that the said pilot of those Mig's where said to have locked target first. on Turkish F16 deployed to intercept them.one would ask if Syrian pilots could be that good. Or if the jet where being piloted by their Russian trainers. Oga everybody is just suggesting an explanation if you want to take mine as fact. Then it is left for you.

MILITARY INAUGURATES COMMITTEE TO PROPOSE REFORMS

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Gabriel Olonisakin has inaugurated a 10-member committee to study the doctrines and procedures of the military and come up with workable plans to renew the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN).
The committee which has until 16 November to submit its reports is expected to identify real and urgent measures and recommend short, medium and long term reforms needed to reinvigorate AFN’s professionalism. The committee’s suggestions would be used to enhance Nigerian military’s performance in the current security challenges in the country, especially, in the North East.
Terms of reference include; to re-appraise previous AFN’s transformation activities and suggest options for realistic reforms, to determine ways of improving on operational efficiency in the services, to examine ways of fostering mission-oriented training in the armed forces.
Others are to evaluate the foreign courses that are currently attended by AFN personnel and suggest ways of ensuring that such courses tally with desired milestones, consider measures for improving on troops adherence to Law of Armed Conflicts in Internal Security and Peace Support Operations, determine impediments to effective logistics support and recommend the way forward, identify current constabulary engagements of the AFN that could be relinquished to the Nigerian Police and other paramilitary organizations, examine ways of fostering value orientation of service personnel through nationalism and the promotion of services’ core values, and suggest ways of improving on career planning in the AFN.
The Committee will also take a critical look at personnel welfare, civil-military relations, policy formulation and implementation, media operations, participation in UN/AU/ECOWAS missions, personnel spouses and barrack youths, plights of ex-service men, career review and national development.
The Committee which may also consider other matters that may result in reforms that would reinvigorate the AFN, is empowered to seek inputs from the Service Headquarters, serving and retired senior officers, relevant MDAs and other stakeholders to enrich its recommendations.
what we ve all being waiting for. Standardisation should be the watchword.

thanks for your pics. The home page and the modify php page work fine on my screen (the correct mobile format loads up). It's the individual thread pages.

As an example, I've put my screen shots of the home page (image on top) and this thread's page (image below the red line).

As you can see the home page fits my IP6 screen well, end to end, with large readable text fonts. This thread's page on the other hand has 'white spaces' in the right section and the text fonts are smaller in relation to the home pages. If you look at the top it is quite obvious since the content is the same across the two pages.
I went into my settings, deleted the cache etc, rebooted but it made no difference

Losing turkey will be a historical, economical and cultural lose for Russia and her interest in the Black Sea cannot be well provided for under this lose. And if you know history you would know that Russian access to the black sea has being the main determinant of her foreign policy right from the Middle Ages.
