Yes, like Palestine who are all over the world....as refugees.

Soooo many heroes in South Africa, the list could even leave Mandela out. Martin Luther King jnr is a hero to all because heroes give birth to love and forgiveness ans freedom. Something Nigeria knows nothing about, since all your have are insurgencies and coups and civil wars. You have no hero. Not even one universal. You simply have nothing.

Peter Gabriel singing about the UNIVERSAL hero, Steve Biko. The father of black consciousness.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgM-1r0X5Zc

Nigeria is a ship adrift bra. No one at the bridge. No one at the lighthouse.
the definition of heroism is very clear. Mandela is not a universal hero. He is just a celebrated political figure that represent the black struggle in south Africa. His career almost ended when he was thrown in prison but with pressure from countries like Nigeria on the apartheid regime. He was released and quickly flew to Nigeria to say thank you.
Excerpts from the transcript of the conversation between mandela and the nigerian head of state on the occasion of his visit to Nigeria.
mandela sir i came to say thank you for your constant visit and support to me while i was in prison, the homemade nigerian delicacies you brought for me during each of your visits were delicious i am also here to thank you for helping to free me from that disgusting prison. I am really happy sir and i would like to tell you that i am unwilling to go back to south Africa. I like it here sir. Your people are free to move around, they are happy and could you believe it? The jet i entered was driven by a black nigerian pilot, up until now i never knew a black man could fly a plane, back in south Africa black men are not even allowed to ride a bicycle. Pls sir don't let me go back to that acursed place, i like it here. Just give me a piece of land let me start a farm, i saw some beautiful nigerian ladies on my way i can pick one of them and change my name to Nelson oluwabumi Dela, but please sir anything you do. don't send me back to south Africa.
reply from the nigerian HOS lol. Mandela why are you crying like a biatch! Sit up and let me read out the nigerian agenda for south Africa to you. Nelson mandela as much as we would like to naturalize you in our country, we as a country Nigeria cannot just sit back and watch the injustice being played out on the blacks in south Africa. We believe we have a Godgiven responsibility to ensure that the whole of the black race is free from all forms of oppression by reason of our size and might. Mandela you must go back to south Africa, you must sing to them the message of hope, tell them that their rich black friends are with them, tell them that we will never sleep till the shackles of apartheid is taken away from every square inch of south Africa and the whole of Africa. Mandela go back home we re watching you. Now here are so condoms pls take it, cus we wont like to work with an HIV infected freedom fighter.

Nigeria couldn't even make a SINGLE movie about a UNIVERSAL hero. Not a single book could be written. Not a single Nigerian soldier could be motivated to die for Nigeria based on what heroes gone by have done. Nigerians only know cowardice and running from principle. Which is why they could sell fellow Africans into slavery, sell out Palestine, breed soldiers that run from Boko Haram...

Yet, South Africa is spoilt or choice. Heroes galore.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNmAcgdO2Ck
WTF! Did you just say movies? Anybody can be made a hero in the movie. We do not immortalise our heroes with movies and songs, they immortalise themselves by their works. Cmon now mate. When you said movies about our heroes do you mean just like the way you snap pictures of your special forces creeping around malls and parking lots at peace time, pretending to be movie grade commandos? And mind you Mr man. Mandela is not a universal heroe he is just a political figure representing the poor and presently oppressed and sideline blacks of south Africa. Mandela barely saved himself so why will he be a universal hero. For all we know mandela could have svcked the d1ck of one of his prison guards while in prison, so is this the man you call a universal hero? Mandela is a joke.

Nigerians Own Africa. They are in more places in Africa than citizens of any other African country can boast of. They will go wherever they deem fit regardless of whatever you think. Mandela used black south Africa as a bargaining chip to buy himself freedom. No matter how much you celebrate him, he still remains a fraud. The whites wont elk you that, because he was a hero to them too. He helped them retain ownership of the mines and other properties.

mandela was a coward who preferred media worship than total freedom of the same people he fought for.

go to SA blogs and online media and read comments from the so called rainbow nation and you'll ask yourself how peoole can live under such pretence.

blacks in SA are stilk fighting for freedom both economically and socially. mandela don scam dem wellagrin.
mandela is a fraud. While Nigeria was fighting for the total freedom of south Africa economically and politically the old fart was busy negotiating for his own personal freedom with the whites in prison.

you are idolising him big time.
you really do not understand the heart of a nigerian man. We don't do hero worship. And nevertheless your stupid mandela only saved himself out of prison with the help of Nigeria and others. The real apartheid battle could never have being fought in prison by mandela. It was fought in summits, convention, meeting and assemblies by a team of nigerian diplomat led by our famed diplomat and soldier, a once sitting president of the general assembly, and also once a president of the UNSC the man major general Joseph nanvem Garba. This man as a nigerian foreign minister did more for the freedom of south Africa than your overhyped nelson mandela. Nelson mandela was just the symbol of that freedom. If we want to worship heroes we ll worship those that contributed to the freedom of other African countries not a delusional jail bird that could only by his oppressed black country men a false freedom. You claimed we wanted you people to fight with the whites and i say no, we never wanted that. All we wanted was justice to be served, many Africans still regard mandela as a fraud because when the time came for him to stand for the interest of the oppressed black he still reneged and allowed the whites to retain control of the resources of south Africa. The freedom he claimed he bought for you blacks only translated to freedom of movement, association and worship.

[size=16pt]We Nigerians don't idolize human beings or any mortal man, they live they die, where is Mandela today?

After all his labor on earth with all the praise of people, millions of blacks in South Africa still live wasted lives, poverty, HIV, murder, r.ape, insecurity, joblessness, dependence on government free food and housing.....Mandela did NOT inspire over 20 million black South Africans to rise up, seek good education, work hard and get paid wages for their sweat, live peacefully, value the life of their neighbor and not murder him or rob him, value the bodies of women in the nation and not r.ape them...why has Mandela not inspired these millions of people?

You Southies turn Mandela into a god and almost worship a mortal man, sorry we don't do that in Nigeria.

We have more than one hero but we don't idolize and worship mortal men. All we do is appreciate them, value them, thank them.

Zik of Africa fought for independence of many African nations .

Awolowo collected our lands, industry, economy by force from the British and gave it to Nigerians.

Obasanjo led our fight against Apartheid in South Africa and took on British Prime Minister Thatcher head to head.

Obasanjo personally led Nigerian army to save Congo Kinshasa in war time.

Obasanjo ordered Nigerian army to stop genocide and mass r.ape of blacks in Dafur Sudan.

Babangida sent Nigerian army to stop tribal genocide and mutilation/cutting off arms of living people in Liberia and Sierra Leone and end years of war.

The Europeans and Americans like Mandela and hype his name because he did not collect all the lands, minerals, cash, real estate, and economic resources from the South African whites and give it to blacks as Mugabe did, so Mandela is hero, Mugabe is bad man.

Did you see Asians hype Mandela? No. They saw nothing special in a man fighting to free his own people at home, NOT the people of another nation.

What has Mandela done for Africa as a whole?

Nothing !

Mandela is a local hero overhyped by the whites for not seeking revenge for the atrocities committed by whites on millions of blacks, your ancestors gold is still in the hands of white Oppenheimer family today in South Africa, they robbed your fathers are still robbing you their children !

Mandela did NOT nationalize any British assets and give it to black entrepreneurs.

Awolowo as finance minister did it in Nigeria and Britain made him look villain for ever and made sure he never became Nigeria's president for changing British petroleum to African petroleum and seizing all other British assets by force, giving them to black Nigerians.

Hype and overhype Mandela and idolize and worship him as much as you want, South Africa is a nation that have never seen a half-hero before in their Apartheid wasted and bastardized life times, so when you see one, you all go gaga !

The Baboon face Obasanjo visited him YES but its unknown to the SAcns.
Now ya'll claim nigeria was in the front in the liberation movement....If thats so Mandela himself didnt mention any important role played by nigeria, be it in his biographies, doccies and other materials. At Madibas memorial service NO single nigerian and nigeria itself was acknowledged. Even at funeral.

At funeral real people who contributed and are not bitching bout it, were acknowledged. Tanzania, Bots and Zambian presesidents talked.

So that visit from a baboon face was insignificant and useless.

Now do think a country that played a key role can be overlooked like that and even history books dont care what you did, and nigeria barely gets mentioned in any SA history.

That story visit was even from NYTimes ...covering baboon dictator Obasanji .maybe at back pages. and .1 font between the major stories online. with 2 lines mention of baboon face visited Madiba in prison, and that was it.

People of SA gave a fvck about him. So were the rest of the world.

You were a leader in anti apatheid movement for 1 thing , you guys make noise too much and no action... while you were shouting free Mandela, other countries were busy using nigeria for their big mouths, while other countries were doing actual help. at the same time your black leaders were busy choping oil money in the name of helping SA.
Nigeria did not push for the freedom of black south Africa because it wanted to be recognised. When Nigeria gained independence in 1960 the whole of the oppressed countries of Africa looked to Nigeria for leadership as the largest black nation to ever exist. We appreciated the responsibility that was placed before us. We never thought of being called up, or being recognised by anyone, we didn't ask to be given front row sits or any fancy recognition, all we wanted was a Africa free from all sort of oppression, most especially by the whites. The independence day speech of tafawa balewa talked about an Africa that is free from oppression of all kinds. Immediately after independence we joint forces with freedom movement all over Africa from Namibia, Angola, Tanzania to south Africa. We donated, our kind hearted citizens did their part by contributing to the anti apartheid fund. We sent trainers and equipment to others. More freedom African freedom fighters operated from lagos than in any other African capital. More meetings have being held in lagos on the issue of Africa freedom than in any other African city.
Either you like it or not my friend. Mandela spent 6 month hiding in Nigeria and that fact is not even important to us as at that time because there were so many political prisoners and freedom fighters seeking asylum in Nigeria as at that time. Whatever south Africa is today is as a result of the collective effort of The nigerian Collossus and her other African allies against apartheid. The freedom you now enjoy my man, was paid for in " green white and green." respect the flag bro. She have earned it.

look here, let me give you a brief of SA prions! Mandela in 1986 was inside a prison yard NOT in the actual cell. Prisons in SA are surrounded by warders houses and male and female residences. During that time was a period of intense negotiations, so Mandela was housed in a house inside a prison yard...

and the article and other say the FIRST african NOT the ONLY african to visit him inside prison walls.

other unmetioned africans and americans did visit him. See you are not special.

in 1986 things were a bit cooler compared to earlier years.

i thought you were talking of robben island were actualy Madiba serve a prison term in the 60s and 70s when the setuation was very intense in the country.
the question is. was the old fart visited in prison by a nigerian head of state? yes he was. do you even know what it means for te head of state of a country to pay visit to a political prisoner. if you said the visit wasnt special then it means your dear madiba wasnt that special. nobody really gave a fvck about him while he was in prison because he was not yet important as at that time. but a nigerian head of state went there to tell him that amidst the smell of p1ss and sh1t in his prison cell, there was freedom waiting to be embraced. dude are you that stupid that you cannot connect facts together. a nigerian head of state went to pay visit to a freedom fighter, years later the man was released from prison and he flew straight to nigeria. even the western nations still recognise nigeria as the leader of the anti apartheid movement in africa and the world over.

Well. Your apartheid leaders were able to stop other black men from entering south Africa, they were able to prevent blacks from other Africa countries from entering south Africa, but they were unable to prevent a single black nigerian from entering south agtoca during this period. I have it on strong, hard copied and softcopied authority that
" General obasanjo, as a member of a common wealth mediation effort. And to be frank with you, i am sure your mandela would be overjoyed to see our dear old General Obasanjo's pretty face when he came to visit. after years and years of abandonment in prison. Nigeria doesn't feature there or anywhere at all.

Nigeria has no stories of freedom anyway. No heroes. All countries that have a firm identity today have stories of freedom. Countries that value who they are fought for who they are. From Europe to AmericA to Africa. Nigeria is not on the list.

That's why you're after the heroes of other nations.

Nigeria led south Africa not to her independence but to her true freedom. The book a long walk to freedom will never find its way into my library. Unlike other African heroes that fought in the liberation movement, nelson mandela wrote more about his perceived efforts and his personal woes than the efforts of other partners or the woes of other fellow fighters in that book, the book a long walk to freedom is dubious and ill constructed designed to immortalise a single man. yea i hyped him up cus y'all believe that if not for him your silly military enthusiast a55 would have been plowing a white mans farm land or working the mines of Kimberly. Mandela sat in prison writing garbage on his prison cell wall and smelling his own pi55 and sh1t, while the foreign ministers of other African countries led by Nigeria were pushing for his freedom and the freedom of the remaining bushmen in south Africa( yea the whites literally called you guys bushmen. The whites who you now call your partners ) while Britain was still debating joining the apartheid movement due to her investments in the Boers controlled mines of south Africa and her desire to stand by the terms of the 1910 act of union ( a unification bill that gave administrative power to the boers, banned the blacks from political participation and alienated them from membership in any political organisation.). The uncelebrated African " partners" were busy placing sanctions and trade restrictions on the apartheid regime.
we led the movement that brought out an already sick and demented mandela out of prison, and it will go down in history that your own mandela came first to Nigeria, the land of the free and proud black men. To register his appreciation. The question being put forward to you and your band of illiterate black south Africans is,
why did mandela visit Nigeria before the other so called " highly committed partner countries" why? Ask yourself, maybe mandela just got his brain damaged from inhaling the smell of his own pi55 and sh1t in prison and was unable to differentiate between his real partners and poor partners? Or maybe the old man was actually right, maybe he knew that the long walk to freedom would not be complete without his nigerian friends. Nelson waved in tears at the nigerian flag, he walked on nigerian soil and based in the nigerian sun. It wasn't a long walk to freedom without Nigeria in it.

You're flag represents your people, who are cowards. So there's nothing wrong with calling a spade a spade.

Tell me which nigerian gave his life or freedom to fight apartheid.

And then I will show you countries like tanzania who housed a whole movement and gave more than your dreamy donations that your leaders chowed.

Countries like Zambia etc that faced apartheid bombs and lost people. Countries like Cuba (who, by the way we are giving economic aid to today) that laid down their own freedoms and youthful lives for apartheid. People that left their own countries like Joe Slovo, to physically and actually fight apartheid. Countries like russia that trained countless soldiers. Man, the list is long.

Not only did nigeria fear whites, you also fear boko haram today. You have no history of any freedom wars in nigeria. Southern africa has countless. Your own "independence" was simply given to you. No anti-colonial wars to be written about. On the contrary, you sold other Africans into slavery. The same country today that voted AGAINST palestine's being recognised as a state. Now you want to pretend that you are freedom heros? You are not.

Ruled by their own people? That's why you had a civil war and have separatists in the form of Boko Haram and Biafrans? Yeah, right.

Nigeria's "contribution" was a drop in the ocean, but nigeria is the loudest in demanding undeserved recognition.

Again, even if you saved the whole world, you're still cowards today and the flag represents you as such.

3. Your "donation" went to the southern African Region, in addition to the pockets of your own leaders.
4. No nigerian gave his life or freedom to free south africans, but other countries did.
5. No one in SA even takes the nigerian contribution seriously, other than individuals like Mandela and Mbeki who had to say what has to be said at the time. But when Mandela died, no one even thought of getting a nigerian to speak because they really would have nothing to speak about.
6. Again your ancient history doesn't mean that nigerians soldiers aren't cowards. We've even stopped counting how many times they have displayed their cowardice.
7. You won't win "by God", bra. In the same way Shekau won't win by Allah. You will win by not channeling funds meant to the army to the pockets of your leaders - in the same way that money meant for SA would have been channeled to the pockets of your leaders.
8. And then you wonder why Boko Haram is still here and SA fails to recognise your "contribution".
other relevant partners? Please could you give reasons why you think the efforts of other partners toppled that of Nigeria?
And why you think a help given should be weighed under such a scale. What help did the US give you? Or the brits that enacted the acts of union of 1910 that actually gave birth to apartheid. What help did your Chinese partners provide you with and why didn't mandela hide in CHINA or Russia for 6 month from the apartheid regime. Nigeria never cared about your apartheid regime, we do not fear the whites we never did. There was never a time in nigerian history where the white race was regarded as superior not even during colonialism and that was why the indirect rule concept came into being. Nigerians wanted to be ruled by their own person even during colonialism.
Our Flag represents our people, culture and values and as such should not be mocked.

2. The men behind that flag hid your hero (mandela) for six month(your heroic mandela came to hide behind cowards).
3. The men behind that flag liberated Liberia, sierra Leone and sacrificed self in Sudan.
4. The men behind that flag stayed on in a country suffering from an epidemic(liberia) to maintain order and even made the ultimate sacrifice.
5.the men behind that flag deployed weapons and trained men to fight for the liberation of angola against a white supremacist south african regime.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuban_intervention_in_Angola
6.The men behind that flag have built for themselves a country stronger larger and richer than any country that Africa can boast of.

and now faced with the evils of insurgency and isolation from friends and partners, the men behind that flag have fought is still fighting and by God we will win back sanity in every inch of our land.
never you mock the flag that your fathers have bowed to. not even Nelson Mandela would call the nigerian flag a flag of cowards

Idrismusty97:
The Algerians(The Berber tribe to be specific). are the first ones to be called "Africa" not even the blacks. The Romans coined the name "Africa". For sometime the name was only limited to the northern region of the continent(Libya, Algeria, Tunisia etc..). They were the first ones to be called Africa but now that the Sub Sahara and the blacks are also called that same word the Algerians are now dissociating themselves from Africa. They now preferred to be called "Arabs". Our blackness have dearth the purity of that name smiley.
these are the words of idrismusty97.
He does not believe in himself, wife, children and parents. He believe his black family, relatives and friends are all bunch of low lives that are to be avoided by the whites or Arabs. This is how he thinks of himself and family. But his opinion does not apply to any other single black man alive, his opinion does not apply to you or anybody you know. You re all special people with unique and distinct attributes. The world was MADE OF BLACK. Thanks rossike for rebuking him immediately.
