Politics / Re: Delta: Okowa Signs ₦71 Billion Supplementary Appropriation Bill by OvisFranko: 9:51am On May 23, 2023 |
Posterity will judge Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa and his cohorts. We dey say "Warri noh dey carry last" ,but Okowa make Warri and Delta State at large to carry last in terms of development. Just imagine a state that God blessed with trees and loan for tree planting was taken by the state government. Is Delta State in Sahara Desert? The 'chop I chop' mentality has plunged Delta State into where it is today. Let's keep our finger crossed as we await the entry of Obarisi Sen.Ovie Omo-Agege into Delta State Osadebey House to make things right in the state. 1 Like 1 Share |

Politics / PDP Harassment of APC Members in Delta State by OvisFranko: 12:36pm On Mar 27, 2023 |
STRONG CONDEMNATION OF INTIMIDATION AND HARASSMENT OF APC MEMBERS IN DELTA STATE. The attention of the All Progressives Congress Delta State has been drawn to a systematic and well-coordinated intimidation and harassment being conducted against members of our great Party across Delta State purportedly at the behest of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with the tacit support of the Delta State Government. Furthermore, information at our disposal indicates that teachers who were suspected as having voted and worked for our Party during the elections have been summoned to the post Primary School Board in Asaba to face query and possible severe disciplinary actions of dismissal taken against them. Similarly, local government workers and staff are also being witch-hunted in several local government secretariats across the State for the simple fact of exercising their civic and constitutional duty of voting for a particular candidate. This callous and crude display of intimidation and harassment against innocent citizens of the State, is intended to serve as a vengeful vendetta against perceived 'enemies' that voted against the candidates of the PDP and the State government in the just concluded general elections. Presently, members of our Party are being intimidated and publicly harassed from their official work places and homes and this ugly situation is noticeable in Udu Local Government Area, where members of our Party are being forced out jobs in all the motor parks, tipper garages and sand beaches by PDP members on the directive of the Council Chairman, Jite Brown, who coincidentally lost the house of assembly elections to Hon. Collins Egbetamah of our Party and has decided to embark on this revenge mission as a payback for his defeat. More worrisome, is the fact that in his home community of Aladja, armed thugs are going from house to house of APC members and subjecting them to all manner of harassment and physical beatings while issuing threats to them to vacate the community. The All Progressives Congress view this shameful and disgraceful treatment being meted out to its members as a retribution for expressing their constitutional rights of freedom of association and the free will to elect candidates of their choice, as completely against the tenets of our constitution and totally repugnant to natural justice. Consequently, the Delta State APC seizes this opportunity to call upon the Delta State Governor Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, to as a matter urgent public safety and security and the need to maintain a peaceful environment in the State, to immediate direct all those who are presently engaged in this unholy act of savagery and barbarity against innocent indigenes of the State, to desist forthwith any or every act of political intimidation and harassment against imaginary enemies as an expression of their loyalty to the State government and PDP. As a law-abiding organization that values the rules of law and abhors any act of brigandage capable of causing breach of peace, the All Progressives Congress Delta State, will not idly stand by and watch its members being continuously subjected to this spiteful and worrisome behaviour that threatens their very existence and livelihood as we will deploy every available options within the ambit of the law in ensuring their safety and dignity. APC, Victory Is Sure!!!! Signed Valentine Onojeghuo Esq State Publicity Secretary APC Delta State 27th March 2023.

THIS IS OUR FIRST AND MAIN PRIORITY Our men and women, must have a decent job that allows a good quality of life. Our programme for the next 4 years in Delta State will bring back job creation, a productive economy, a sense of community and respect for people. We want to put you as a citizen and as a voter back in charge and bring back hope to Delta State youths. Creating jobs for young people is a challenge which will define us, for this generation and the next, and will remain a key priority for us as part of our long-term commitment to full employment. To create jobs, we will introduce an ambitious ‘Delta State Employment, Entrepreneurship and Empowerment Programme (DEEP) and will support our Social Economy and our Small and Medium Enterprises. DEEP is an unbreakable commitment to be fulfilled with innovative ideas and reforms targeting massive private-sector economic development and growth through responsible management of government resources and processes. The driving strategy behind DEEP will create modern cluster industries and manufacturing centers that will generate good jobs in every Local Government Area (LGA) of Delta. Our target is to create the right environment and support mechanism, including structured state guarantees, for the private sector to develop at least 5 major employment-generating corporate vehicles in each LGA annually. These will drive well- organised, government-supported and actively supervised Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to be strategically spread across the State on the basis of the unique economic strength of each LGA. This is at the core of our overall BUILD A NEW DELTA – BAND governance agenda. ----Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege APC Delta State Gubernatorial Candidate. |

2023 ELECTION: ATTACK APC SUPPORTERS AT YOUR OWN PERIL, OMO-AGEGE WARNS DELTA PDP. ** STATES WHY OKOWA WILL NOT BE VP Deputy Senate President and Delta All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has once again warned against any planned attacks on members and supporters of APC in Delta state during the 2023 general elections. He stated that such attacks will be met with the full vehemence of the law. Senator Omo-Agege while reacting to recent reports of plans to precipitate violence during the election in order to sabotage the BVAS voting system, appealed to youths in Delta State to ensure they are not used by “failed politicians who are afraid of free and fair elections”. Senator Omo-Agege spoke, Friday, January 13, when the ongoing ward to ward campaigns of the APC moved to JFK ground, Refinery Road and Ughoton, in Uvwie and Okpe LGAs respectively. He said the 2023 general elections are profound, and would redefine the destiny of Nigeria and Delta state. He therefore warned that anyone that attempts to disrupt the election will be toying with the future of both the state and country. "You are our children, we are one family; it does not matter which political party you belong. Come and join this people's movement which has become a revolution for the liberation of Delta State from misgovernance of PDP. I specifically appeal to those youths in PDP, come and join us and move the state forward." He said Delta governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, hates the Urhobo people so much so that he thoughtlessly attempted to humiliate and retire former Delta Governor, Chief James Ibori, his benefactor, from politics and impose an “ incompetent Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, a man whose credentials are an issue of public debate, as a proxy for his third term agenda.” He assured that Governor Okowa will never be Vice President because the APC Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will win the election , and be declared the next president of Nigeria. Because of this, he said, any vote for any other party would be a wasted vote. He called for the election of Chief Ede Dafinone to replace him in the senate, stating that the candidate is a humble and intelligent man that would do Urhobo proud. He also made case for the election of Hon. Henry Baro as member of the House of Representatives to represent Okpe, Sapele and Uvwie Federal Constituency. "I can vouch for him. When he gets there he’ll get the respect he deserves," Omo-Agege said. In Jeddo through to Ughoton, women and youths lined the route with brooms and other APC party insignia, chanting support slogans for Senator Omo-Agege. At the rallies, more former movers and shakers of the PDP including, Chief Barr Victor Otomiewo, former Attorney general and Commissioner of Justice of Delta State; Hon Chief Efe Ofobruku, two time member of the Delta State House of Assembly; Chief Godstime Ematsemigbe, aka Omimi; Mrs Rose Onomavwe, former House of Assembly candidate of Action People's Party, APP, and Aston Stephen Atemu, among others, decamped to the APC.
