What's up with our throw-ins? Why are we always in panic mode, but when it's the opposition's turn, they easily find their man? |
Atletico looking to sign Osimhen at the end of the Season. Is this true? |
I just saw the highlights. We were okay defensively but we could have played better when attacking. Nigerian midfielders were isolated more than often. Ball control was a problem the players were not settled. The touch wasn't there. Seems the occasion affected them in a way but kudos they held their own for the most part. In transition our players too long to make obvious passes before they were closed down. The moroccans were sharper at intercepting pass and pressed to prevent our build up play. They were more technical and had the better build up play. Our attackers were not at their best and struggled to find rhythm all day. We managed to hold them despite playing them at home in that atmosphere. The bottom line is if we played 50% of our normal game we would have beaten them. The performance for an attacking perspective was poor. Almost nothing clicked. The coach needs to find a plan B to attack coherently when the other team had figured a way to stem plan A. |
The midfield will now be open after the substitution. poor management |
What if Eric Chelle leaves for Tunisia after AFCON and then the FIFA verdict favors Nigeria over Congo? |
We escaped a penalty |
Senegal Morocco Nigeria Côte d'Ivoire |
kennysville:Yes it has, but this video is from AFCON 2023 |
End of the road for Nigeria |
Kilishihunter:Nigeria has grown to making good teams look tame in the competition. They just need to keep this up and not panic when things do not go their way. |
Nigerians like Negative news. Focus on the game and how played. Players may have moved on. |
South Africa should beat Cameroon based on what I just watched. CIV, Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria, Algeria, Mali and Senegal should go through. CapitalCee: |
I maintain that we need to learn to defend. We are too porous when a team decides to attack. We are keeping the ball better which is a form of defense. Watch out for Mozambique. We must maintain our game against them and be patient if the goals are not coming. |
Danielnino00:Yeah, but will this coach implement this? Tunisia will so carve us... |
Dannyxy:Nigeria does not have the team to beat any team at this AFCON. That said, I hope they can play to their potential and close off loopholes. Defence is average Midfield below average Forwards are okay Team chemistry needs improvement Goalkeeping average Not inspired by this current team. |
We did not lose the game. It was a tie. Penalties are lottery to an extent. We seem to play not to lose. The team defended well for the most part. For the 2nd half and the whole of extra time no to concede. This is a plus we can take to the AFCON. That said 8 outfield players need to be replaced with more technical and mentally strong players if we are to improve this team. |
Nigeria looking like they will lose this game. They cannot handle the physicality. |
Cocony:Cape Verde automatic loss to Eswatini |
minfelix:If they can hold BF, along with the Mali result, Nigeria can get in top 4 with a win on Tuesday regardless of the South Africa game. |
Some of you are misunderstanding the H2H tie breaker. Most away goals of TEAMS INVOLVED.(Just between Benin and Nigeria. Not all teams in the group) The case of 1-0 favors Nigeria The case of 2-1 we are tied on H2H The case of 3-2 favors Benin because they would have more away goals. |
South African win puts them through. |
lbrichman2:Match Fixing task number 1 lol |
minfelix:Yeah it's not over until it is over. Probabilities are pretty low at this point. -South Africa dropping 3pts 2nd place playoff hopes: -Bukina Faso drawing or losing to Ethiopia -Nigeria scoring lots of goals in the next two games [to better Burkina Faso's GD] -Madagascar drawing or losing to Mali |
DRC just beat Togo. So it is over at this point Unless Nigeria can beat Lesotho 5-0 and beat Benin 3-0, it is done. |
Hope for DRC not to beat Togo. If DRC wins, Nigeria is toast. |
Have you forgotten this U-20 team do not know how to score. |
Joebie:It all boils down to this. It's at least staying alive in the competition as opposed to being qualified. |
The equation is simple if (Nigeria.beats(SouthAfrica) == TRUE) { Result = "Qualify"; } else { Result = "Eliminated"; } |
Ppogbae:Mentioned earlier. We still need to win every game going forward. |
Odunayaw:Probability is low but can happen For this to happen: 1. Nigeria must win all 4 remaining games. Any slip-up and this theory will not hold. 2. It does not look like FIFA will deduct points from South Africa, so we must be 2nd on the table with a max of 19 points. 3. Eritrea pulled out of the World Cup qualifiers, meaning there is a group with 5 teams. 4. Nigeria will be in the conversation for 2nd place if we beat Rwanda and SA. 5. In determining the top 4 second-placed teams fairly, points recorded against the last teams in the group may be cancelled due to the imbalance caused by the 5-team group. 6. Zimbabwe must sit in last place in our group so that the points deducted from Nigeria are only 2 compared with most second-place teams that would have recorded 3, 4, or 6 points against their last-place group opponents. 7. Coupled with hopefully an imperfect campaign from the 2nd place teams in the remaining matches, SE could have a chance to finish among the top 4 second-placed teams for the playoffs. But again, Nigeria must win all remaining and have a perfect record going forward for the points above to materialize. |
The goal Nigeria conceded in the 90th min vs. Zimbabwe could be the reason Nigeria qualifies for the World Cup. Only someone with a deep mind will understand this |
So how come Benin can beat Zimbabwe and Nigeria cannot.. |
