JohnBullMySon: it is the NT that play on it that will say. The best is usually pure natural grass pitches like uyo, Asaba and now teslim. come to think of it. is pinnick so dumb not to pick enyimba stadium if it was the best. not just enyimba, katsina united and makurdi stadium have that same enyimba turf and are way bigger and more beautiful. Nigeria cannot maintain natural grass professionally. World cup pitches have some hybrid synthetic component to it. Check out Brazil 2014 and Russia 2018 |

Development is independent of these points. All these can be said of many countries that are far advanced than Nigeria. Nigeria is among of the most underdeveloped countries and is the world capital of poverty. Per capita income is low. There are no excuses. We know the problems and we need to fix them. dasparrow: Nigeria is in the mess it is in for the following reasons:
1. Nigeria was artificially put together by the european without any regards for the indigenous people's differences in culture, language, cultural values, religious beliefs, mindset, etc.
2. The people who inhabit Nigeria today never asked to share a country together. This was imposed on them by the european colonialists. As a result, we have a whole bunch of people who have little or nothing in common with each other culturally speaking, having to share a country together that they never agreed to.
Can you imagine throwing the Germans, the french, the polish, the russians, the romanians, the Irish, the norwegians, the portuguese and the spaniards together and forcing them all to share one country? What do you think would have happened? Especially, when the aforementioned groups never agreed to such an arrangement?
Well, that is what was done to we Nigerians and other African nationals. Until we as a people understand the damaging effects colonialism has had on us as a people, we will keep running around in circles.
The white man knew exactly what he was doing when he forced different African ethnicities who are not culturally, linguistically or otherwise compatible with each other to share a country together. We were set up to fail from the start. Think am lying? Why does it make europeans and their descendants nervous when Africans talk about wanting an ethnically monotonous nation? Like say, a nation of all Yorubas or Igbos or Madinkas, or Luos, or Ashanti, or Akan or Zulus or Hausas? Because they know that once a group of people who culturally and otherwise have a lot in common unite towards a common vision and goal, they will be unstoppable and the rise of the African race will be the demise of the european race. Why does europe supply weapons to African leaders to use against African ethnic groups wishing to breakaway and form their own nation? Think about it.
The problem is, many of you were never taught history in school or even in the home, and you would rather spend all your leisure time on social media rather than read and educate yourselves about your historical past.
This is the reason why many of you suffer from an identity crisis, a lack of knowing thyself, a lack of self esteem, not knowing your self worth and looking up to another race of people for love and acceptance. The same group of people who enslaved you, colonized you, have hated you from day one and continue to hate you. The same group of people who instruct your corrupt leaders to oppress you.
As a group, Africans lack a sense of direction, be it the ones on the Continent of Africa or the ones in the diaspora. If you are waiting for the same people who enslaved and colonized you to come and solve your myriads of problems, then I am afraid, you will be waiting forever.
Once upon a time, Africans were a great people. We had different empires and invented great things. But then, the europeans arrived, and told us our way of doing things is primitive. The european gave us his names, forced his culture and language on us and stripped us from whom we are or were as a people.
Notice, that if Asian countries like Japan or even China had allowed colonialists to do to them what they did to we Africans, those nations will not be where they are today. When will Africans wake up? The solutions to our problems lie in our hands. Stop waiting for the caucasian to save you.
3. The lackadaisical attitude of Nigerians. As a people, we have sat and watched a small yet powerful set of Nigerians in positions of influence, affluence and authority run the country to the ground. We sit there and say stupid things like "It is well," "God will help us," and so on forgetting that God helps those who make an attempt to help themselves.
God has blessed Nigeria with fertile soil, good weather, a large population, mineral resources, no hurricanes, earthquakes, wild fires or other natural disasters, etc. So what more do Nigerians want? Yet, due to our unnecessary and misplaced hate for one another, we can't even use what God gave us to make something out of our nation and improve the lives of the citizens.
Nigerians will kiss the feet of the chinese, lebanese, indian and white man while simultaneously treating everyone who is a black African with disdain. It's shameful. Do you think a german in germany will treat another german with disdain while elevating you an African on their own soil? It can never happen but that is the crap that goes on in Nigeria and one of the many reasons why people like me left Nigeria and have no intentions of returning.
Nigeria is the only country I have lived in where you turn on the radio and the people speaking on the radio airwaves are speaking with an American accent, British accent, sometimes a mixture of both, but hardly with the accent of the land, the Nigerian accent. Self hatred runs deep amongst most Nigerians and I had no choice but to separate myself from such group of people. Is it any wonder why Nigeria is a mess? |

COMPAQ: This is valid. I also wonder at times that perhaps our independence came too early. But still it's not an excuse for us going backwards. Are we all daft to do basic things? Estates in the South West that the white guys left for us are far better than any estate that we have done since then. Check Ikoyi and Agodi Gra Ibadan and old Bodija. Even with more modern technology, we can organise ourselves like we were under colonial rule. With some nigerians it doesn't matter how much money you throw at it, it comes out substandard. It does not matter what happened in the past, brush it off and fix the country. Look at Botswana, Rwanda, Tanzania. No excuses. |

shantti: Apart from bad governance, even the weather here no work, extreme sun that can fry you, harmattan dusts that makes everywhere untidy and unfresh, our rivers and seas are so dirty and unattractive unlike other sparkling blue waters abroad. every thing is against us, nature, mosquitoes. Apple or strawberry cant even grow here. Sunrise or sunset is unattractive in this country, Its not even possible to surf in the water at beaches becos mammy water fit hijack u, its only in this country that ive heard that a mother hen will have the effontry to chase a fully grown man Take what God has given you and develop it. Nigeria is not left behind and has actually potentially has attractive environment for tourism. Abidjan is in the same climate/location as Lagos and is more livable and environmental friendly to live in than Lagos. You cultivate you environment, develop your landscapes. This part of science is not taken seriously in Nigeria at all. We can't maintain grass in our stadiums talkless of within the cities. No environmental policies in place and no enforcements. Development is haphazard in this country. https://images.app./g3yqJGK7ovG9i58V9I am of the opinion that the physical environment shapes thinking. |

Car Talk › Re: My Experience With A Man I Bashed His SUV Yesterday. by owbabs: 2:32pm On Nov 30, 2020 |
Carchoice: I bashed an SUV yesterday, I thought the driver was taking off and I charged up to follow him just to beat the messy traffic, he braked immediately and it happened. His bumper was a bit disjointed on the right side, and almost pulled off one of the mini brake lights on the bumper. Nothing happened to my car.
We parked by the road side and Mr got out of control. I kept telling to calm down that I acknowledged it was my fault and mistake. I started hearing things like, who are you? How old are you? You small boy, go and ask of me in so so and so autos store”
I kept telling him to calm down but he wasn’t having it. Cost of damage running into hundred and some thousands was given to me. I was working on making a transfer while he was still fuming in anger and saying a lot. All of a sudden he entered his car and told his friend to hop in, I tried pleading with him to wait, he refused and even told me he will do worse should he get down from his car. I told his friend to tell him to calm down but he shouted at his friend to close his door and zoomed off.
On my way home I realized a lot from the incident, ALOT. The man was not interested in taking money from me. He was that angry because he knows he was not going to take money from me and he knows he was going to bear the cost of fixing the car. He was angry because he did not leave his house to go and bear cost for another person and the incident will likely ruin the rest of his day. I felt bad. I felt his pain. A Lexus SUV for the men.
But why was he feeling intimidated by asking my age and social status? Maybe it was my body composure, because I wasn’t looking fazed, I knew I already made a mistake which I have to pay for. I accept my mistakes easily, it helps me beat and teach myself for correction.
Then he also asked me this question;
“Where are you rushing to?”
this question will be my motto for 2021.
The incident also reminded me of my Ma, back then when it was time to pay school fees and we ask her for money, she starts acting as if they are stinging her needles. Woe betide you should you forget to do chores or refused to run errands for her, she’ll kill you in peace and keep the school fees money instead.
Most humans expresses pains with anger and rage Drive defensively. That's how they do in developed countries. Nigerians (most) have adopted a bad habit of rushing for no reason. |

Balogun Akpoguma Ebuehi Sanusi I see people here are just as confused as the coach himself. The problem is not so much the defense but the midfield which is supposed to be the shield for the back line. They should be comfortable on the ball, hold their positions with discipline and serve as a creative outlet. The rest of the team will benefit from this. |
