Politics / Oshiomhole Warned To Stay Away From Bauchi Politics by owisdom58: 10:02pm On Jun 24, 2019
The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has been warned to steer clear of the political happenings in Bauchi.

The warning was made by a Coalition of 30 political parties in Bauchi State, which also asked him to mind the domestic political affairs of Edo State and stop interfering in the Speakership tussle of the Bauchi State House of Assembly

Spokesman of the coalition, Sani Mohammed Bura, spoke at a press conference held at the NUJ Secretariat in Bauchi.

He condemned the statement credited to the APC National Chairman who described the emergence of Abubakar Suleiman as Speaker of the 9th Assembly in the state as an illegality.

He alleged that Oshiomhole’s remarks concerning the leadership tussle of the Bauchi State Speakership was aimed at preventing the smooth running of governance in the state

“As critical stakeholders in Bauchi State politics, we are calling on the APC National Chairman to take his eyes, attention and unsolicited concern off Bauchi state. What we are after now, is the development of Bauchi state and not party politics,” he warned.

Bura added that “13 members of the State House of Assembly elected the Speaker on the floor of the House Assembly with the mace, Clerk and staff, but unfortunately, another faction of the APC who are House members, came out from their hideout and paraded another person as Speaker. They conducted themselves in an uncivilised manner likely to ignite trouble.”

The Coalition spokesman, who noted that the matter was still before the court of law, accused Adams Oshiomhole of causing confusion in the leadership of the APC in Edo state and advised him to first resolve the crisis in his state, stop interfering in the business of other states.

He said that Bauchi State which in the last four years did not witness any meaningful development under the platform of the APC, now has a Governor who has shown willingness to develop the state, but some persons are against the peace of the state.

He concluded that they as critical stakeholders will not sit down and fold their hands in seeing that political stability is maintained in the state and therefore advised Adams Oshiomhole to go take care of the political problem rocking Edo state caused by him.

Politics / Mohammed Abubakar: EFCC, Magu Get 2-Week Ultimatum To Prosecute Ex Governor by owisdom58: 2:27pm On Jun 24, 2019
The Coalition against Financial Crimes and Injustice has threatened to sue the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and the anti-graft commission for not investigating and prosecuting former Governor of Bauchi State, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, over fraudulent acts and corrupt practices he allegedly committed while in office.

Chairman of the group, Alhaji Dogo Bibi, who stated this yesterday in Bauchi while interacting with reporters, said, “We have filed several petitions to the commission against various alleged corrupt practices by the former governor. We have many copies of acknowledgement as evidence to show that the commission received our petitions but they have remained silent.”

He said some of the petitions filed by the anti-graft group included the N4 billion, the governor allegedly took without the approval of the state lawmakers, alleged fraudulent act in fertiliser, hajj operations and award of contracts without following due process.

Dogo stated that the contract were awarded when Abubakar had no state executive council, and listed the former governor’s inability to provide the 500 tractors he claimed to have bought for farmers in the state and the 60 buses he claimed to have purchased for the Yankari transport corporation, insisting that the tractors and buses were not delivered.

His words, “We don’t know why the EFCC are still silent over the issue. If they are unable to investigate him because he has immunity at that time, now that he left office, he has no immunity for that he should be prosecuted or else we will be left with no option but to sue the commission and its chairman before the court so that court will compel them to investigate and prosecute the former governor.

“We are not happy with the lukewarm attitude of the anti-graft commission, because their refusal to prosecute the former governor will definitely put a dent and bring disrepute to the President Muhammadu Buhari much-touted anti-corruption fight before Nigerians and the international community”.

Dogo said, “We have given a two-week ultimatum to the EFCC to show cause why they refused to prosecute the former governor in a court of competent jurisdiction without which we will be left no option than to drag the anti-graft commission and its chairman to court.”

The Federal Government has extended by two weeks, the time given to the Presidential Taskforce on the Apapa traffic gridlock to resolve the matter following a request for extension by members of the taskforce and other stakeholders.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, approved the extension at a meeting of the Presidential Taskforce with stakeholders held at the Presidential Villa, earlier in the week.

The taskforce, according to a statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, commenced its assignment on May 24 and had up to June 7 to complete the assignment.

He said that the panel is now expected to present a formal report at the end of its extended mandate on June 24.

He said: “The presidential directive was issued for the clearing up of the Apapa gridlock and the restoration of law and order to Apapa and its environs within 2 weeks.

“The directive followed an emergency meeting convened by President Muhammadu Buhari and chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, on the 25th of April, 2019.

“While the Vice President chairs the task force, its daily operations are supervised by an Executive Vice Chairman, Comrade Kayode Opeifa.”

Membership of the team is drawn from the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), Nigerian Ports Authority and the Nigerian Shippers Council.

Other members include a special unit of the Nigeria Police Force led by a Commissioner of Police, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), representatives of the Truck Transport Union, the Lagos State Government through the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), and other relevant MDAs.

According to the Vice President at the meeting held on Tuesday “we will extend the tenure of the taskforce by two weeks and we must all work together to be able to resolve all the issues raised here today.”

Speaking on steps to be taken to find lasting solutions to the problem, Prof. Osinbajo added that “it will take both medium and long term solutions to ultimately enable us present to the users an efficient port environment for the economy and businesses to thrive.”

Politics / Oyetola Cries To Buratai As Criminals Take Over Osun by owisdom58: 8:08am On Jun 14, 2019
*INSECURITY: Osun under siege, Oyetola cries out

*As Makinde vows to stop kidnapping in Oyo

State, yesterday, cried out over the rising spate of kidnapping, banditry and armed robbery in the state calling for deployment of a joint patrol outfit to tackle the security challenges.

This came as Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State expressed his determination to provide adequate security measures to forestall such occurrence in the state.

Oyetola raised the alarm at the headquarters of the Nigerian Army when he paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Buratai.

The governor said he was at Army headquarters to commend the COAS for approving the construction of a Bridge across the Osun River to Ede, which will greatly assist the state by boosting the economic wellbeing on the people.

He said: “I am here to bring to your knowledge that the spate of crime is increasing in Osun and around us. It is giving me a serious cause for concern and as you know, the primary function of government is to ensure security for the people for economic progress and development.

“To address these challenges, the state (Osun) has decided to establish a joint patrol operation comprising the Police, Nigerian Army and the NSCDC. I have written to your office in this regard but I deemed it important to come see the Army leadership due to the concern I attach to tackling these security challenges.

“Though we, in Osun State, are challenged by paucity of funds, we are prepared to support the security agencies with vehicles, equipment because crime is on the increase.”

Responding, Buratai said: “Your presence here today shows level of commitment you have for the security of the state. We will do everything possible to support the effort because fighting crime is part of our constitutional responsibility.”

Reassuring the governor on the request, the COAS said: “Your request is well understood. We must do it responsibility. We will do everything to ensure the Army unit in Osun is properly equipped.”

Makinde vows to stop kidnapping

Meanwhile, Governor Makinde assured the people to keep the state safe from bandits.

The governor gave the assurance following calls by members of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, and other stakeholders who were at the state secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan on a peaceful demonstration to call attention of the government to the increasing spate of kidnapping and banditry in the country.

The peaceful walk tagged: Walks for Stop The Kidnapping Now took off from the ancient Mapo Hall, Ibadan, before terminating at the Agodi State Secretariat.

Speaking through his Chief of Staff, Chief Bisi Ilaka after receiving the protesters, the governor assured that the security of lives and property of people of the state remains paramount in his mind and would always make it a top priority.

Ilaka said: “Governor Seyi Makinde is a governor that understands his duties and responsibilities as the Chief Security Officer of this state and I know and speak without any fear of contradiction that he owes the life of every single person in this state sacred and he will not tolerate or allow any pervading insecurity around Southwest to extend to Oyo State.”

“I am sure the governor will use his office to champion the cause for a secured Southwest. I also know that our father that we all know, Chief Olu Falae who is a leading light in the Afenifere movement also suffered in the hands of these obnoxious individuals who are popping up all over the place. We say to you, we will not allow such to happen in Oyo State.”

Politics / UN To Assist INEC On Electoral Reform Ahead Of Future Polls by owisdom58: 7:42am On Jun 14, 2019
The United Nations (UN) has offered to assist Nigeria in its efforts to reform its electoral process.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) recently proposed to open up dialogue on the country’s electoral process to seek means of tackling some challenges that arose in this year’s general polls.

Announcing UN interest in assisting the country, Mr. Mohammed Ibn Chambas, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Office for West Africa, also decried the number of political parties in the country.

Chambas spoke yesterday in Abuja, the nation’s capital, in an audience with the Prof. Mahmood Yakubu-led INEC management at the commission’s headquarters.

The special representative noted that the planned dialogue is a step in the right direction, adding that a stable Nigeria is best for the region and the African continent.

He said: “We have come as part of the constant relationship that UN enjoys with INEC. I think this visit is to make the point that the UN relationship is not only during election time; we have an ongoing institutional relationship with INEC. We are interested in the welfare of INEC during election seasons and off-election seasons.

“We want to use this visit to renew and reiterate that the UN wishes to strengthen that relationship and be part of the post-election review, the conversation which has already been launched by the chairman of INEC.

Politics / PDP To Anti-graft Agency: Stop Persecuting Fayose by owisdom58: 7:26am On Jun 14, 2019
The main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to stop vilifying former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose.

The party’s National Vice Chairman (Southwest), Dr Eddy Olafeso, issued a statement yesterday in Akure, the Ondo State capital, cautioning the anti-graft agency

The PDP stalwart drew the attention of the public to what he called ceaseless harassment of the former governor and some other prominent members of the party by the EFCC.

The statement said: “It is imperative that we bring to the notice of all Nigerians that the EFCC has currently deployed a team of investigators to Ado-Ekiti, whose main assignment is centred on a goal to manufacture evidence it hopes to use to secure an indictment of Ayo Fayose at every cost.

“This team, working in active connivance with the Ekiti State government, is currently housed at the Bawa Lodge of the Ekiti State Government House to intimidate and harass civil servants with a view to coercing them to bear curious witness in the trial of the former governor.

“This attitude is not only cheap but also patently criminal. We are particularly worried about this development, more so at a time the EFCC has secured the leave of the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court to transfer the case of Fayose from a judge before whom 12 of EFCC’s 13 witnesses have given evidence to another judge.

“This action we find very uncomfortable and most probably inexcusable; we believe that it betrays a strange inexplicable desire. The Judiciary is believed to be the last hope of the common man.

“We, therefore, want to warn that actions that will suggest to the average man that victimisation is just and proper must be discarded.

“It does not simply add up that a matter, which is almost coming to conclusion, is being assigned to another judge, and particularly at a time the EFCC is now domiciled in Ekiti Government House, harassing and intimidating civil servants in a desperate bid to institute another case”.

Politics / We Are Ready To Pay N30,000 Minimum Wage – PDP Governors by owisdom58: 8:50am On Jun 08, 2019
Peoples Democratic Party governors have expressed their readiness to pay the N30,000 new minimum wage approved by the Federal Government.

But in a communiqué read by the Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Seriake Dickson, after their meeting at Bayelsa State Government Lodge in Abuja on Thursday night, they urged the President to present a bill before the incoming National Assembly to review the constitution to accommodate a fresh revenue allocation formula.

The PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus; Senate President, Bukola Saraki; and Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, were present at the meeting.

The governors were Dickson (Bayelsa), Emeka Ihedioha (Imo), Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Darius Ishaku (Taraba), Udom

Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia) and Seyi Makinde (Oyo).

Others were Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa), Bello Matawalle (Zamfara), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi) and Dave Umahi (Ebonyi.)

Dickson said, “We are very eager to pay the N30,000 new minimum wage to alleviate the plight of workers.

“We want to do so to alleviate the plight of the long-suffering Nigerian workers who have been underpaid and who are currently groaning about the economic hardship as a result of what has gone wrong with the economy since the APC government took over. We therefore call on Mr President to urgently present a bill before the incoming National Assembly to review the constitution to accommodate a fresh revenue allocation formula in the country.”

According to the Bayelsa State governor, the PDP governors deliberated on the alleged diversion of local government allocations by state governments and condemned it.

He said no PDP governor was involved in the diversion of council allocations and challenged the Federal Government to name the states and the governors who tampered with council funds.

Dickson said, “We maintain that PDP states do not indulge in such a reprehensible conduct. “In our case, we know the reverse is the case. The state governments, rather have been supporting, subsidising and funding the local governments. We call on the Federal Government and the agencies that have been making this allegation to name the state governments and possibly even tell us the date and the people who were in charge at the time the diversion took place because for us we do not indulge in it and we also want to join in condemning it.”

The forum also expressed its concern with the alleged politicisation of security apparatus in some states by the Federal Government.

According to the governors, this could be the reason behind the growing insecurity in some parts of the country.

Politics / Sacked Oyo Council Bosses Report Gov. Makinde To Buhari by owisdom58: 8:50am On Jun 07, 2019
Sacked chairmen of Local Government Areas (LGAs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Oyo State have reported Governor Seyi Makinde to President Muhammadu Buhari for removing them from office.

The chairmen, under the auspices of Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), in a letter signed by their chairman, Mr. Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye, and secretary, Mr. Olayinka Jesutoye, urged the president to call the Oyo governor to order.

They noted that a subsisting court judgement had restrained any governor from sacking them.

It also restrained the governor from doing anything that would truncate the tenure of the claimants, except in accordance with the provisions of section 7 (1) of the federal constitution.

However, in their petition, the embattled council bosses asked the president to “advise the governor to respect the will of the people of Oyo to have the councils run by elected chairmen and councillors.”

They alleged persistent threats from the governor and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state to forcefully take over the administration of the councils, a situation they said might lead to breakdown of law and order.

ALGON urged the president to wade into the matter and “ensure that the rule of law prevails before it degenerates into chaos that would truncate the peace the state had been enjoying in the last eight years.”

smileyPresident Muhammadu Buhari has summoned all 36 state governors for an emergency meeting in Abuja today.

This was revealed by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State on Thursday, when he briefed newsmen during his quarterly media chat tagged: ‘2019 Media Appreciation Meeting’, at the Government House, Asaba.

“We are already aware of the area where these crimes are committed in the state and we are also working out ways to tackle that problem there. But you will agree with me that these security challenges are not peculiar to this state alone.

“It has become a trends across all the states of the federation and that’s why the president has summoned all governors to a meeting in Abuja to seek ways to end this criminality, especially the aspects of kidnapping and that of the invading Fulani herdsmen.

Politics / Lagos PDP Crisis: Bode George, Jimi Agbaje Fight Dirty Over Defection by owisdom58: 8:10pm On Jun 06, 2019
The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, during the 2019 governorship election in Lagos State, Jimi Agbaje, Jimi Agbaje and a former Vice Chairman (South West) of the party Chief Bode George, are currently engaged in verbal altercations.

George had in an interview said that the former governorship candidate and some other chieftains of the PDP have dumped the PDP and returned to the APC where they belonged.

This claim was refuted by Agbaje, who told the elder statesman to shot up and leave the PDP if he was tired.

“That false narrative is the product of a sick mind. Or how else do you describe someone who just sits down to concoct fiction and markets it as reality? He should tell the world where he got the news being spreading round.

“These shameless party leaders have 2023 in mind. The game-plan is mischievously simple: Give the dog a bad name and chase it away from the party.

“By 2023, this mudslinging will have scared off credible people from the party, which will leave the whole field to them to continue to corner party resources.”

In a swift reaction to this, Bode George described Agbaje as a failed governorship candidate.

George, who spoke to Vanguard through his Special Adviser, Prince Uthman Shodipe said, “We have read with disgust an absolute report of idiocy that emanated from one Mr. Jimi Agbaje, who was a failed governorship candidate of the PDP in last general election in Lagos State, against the leader of the party in the state, Chief George.

Politics / APC Leaders Still Fighting After Losing States To PDP – Orji Kalu by owisdom58: 8:00pm On Jun 06, 2019
Dr Orji Kalu, former governor of Abia State, has advised the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to sheathe their swords.
According to him, the no love lost was why the party lost some states to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the general election.

He said this in reaction to the war of words between the national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, and his predecessor, Jon Oyegun.
Orji’s in statement issued on Thursday by his spokesman, Mr Kunle Oyewumi, however, said plans were under way to bring feuding leaders of the ruling party together to find a lasting solution.

Kalu said the party must be re-positioned for greatness, adding that the leadership must ensure all lost states were captured again.

“We have already lost seven states to the opposition. PDP won those states because of the crisis. We need to resolve these issues and save the party from further crisis.
“As soon as I return to Abuja, I will meet with Adams Oshiomhole and Chief John Oyegun. They are my leaders. I will bring in Chief Bola Tinubu and talk to the president to intervene in the crisis. This is what I plan to do.

“In the next two weeks, we should come up with a solution and these things would become history,’’ Kalu said.

Politics / APC NWC Reacts As Goje Steps Down, Speaks On Opposition To Lawan, Gbajabiamila’s by owisdom58: 7:54pm On Jun 06, 2019
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended Senator Danjuma Goje’s decision to withdraw from the 9th Senate Presidency contest in support of the Party’s endorsed candidate, Senator Ahmad Lawan.

This was contained in a statement Thursday evening by Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, National Publicity Secretary.

It read: “Goje has demonstrated himself as a reliable, committed party leader, good role model and elder statesman.

“We believe that Goje’s selfless actions typify APC’s progressive ideals and should be emulated by all party members to ensure unity, strength and supremacy of our great party. There is no doubt that the majority APC caucus is going into the incoming 9th National Assembly as a united house.
“On the sponsored reports against Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, the Party’s candidate for the Speakership position, 9th House of Representatives, that he was ‘convicted’ by a Court in the United States of America, we urge Nigerians to ignore the phantom and infantile allegations.

“The allegations have become a reoccurring fabrication. Nigerians will recall that the same baseless allegation were made against Gbajabiamila in the leadup to the 8th National Assembly speakership race and came to naught. It needs restating that Gbajabiamila has never been convicted for any crime in Nigeria and abroad.

“We urge Gbajabiamila and his vibrant campaign team to remain focused on their extensive countywide consultation and engagements which has been well-received and endorsed across party lines.
“Ahead of the June 11 inauguration of the 9th National Assembly, we urge all APC federal lawmakers to rally around the candidatures of Senator Ahmad Lawan, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila and all our candidates for the respective principal positions.”

Politics / Governor Obaseki: Era Of Sharing Money To Greedy Edo Politicians Over by owisdom58: 7:08am On Jun 05, 2019
Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has said that the time for sharing public funds to a few greedy politicians was over in the state.

The governor said this on Tuesday when he received Muslim faithful, who were in Government House to celebrate the end of the Ramadan fast.

He noted that he would not be distracted from fulfilling his promises to the people no matter the antics of detractors.

According to him, “Only God gives power. What is going on in Edo State is the handiwork of detractors who want to frustrate the administration so we can fail in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people. But that will never happen.

“As a governor, I will continue to do my best and spend the state’s resources to ensure Edo people get the best.

“The (governorship) election is still a year ahead. What is playing out is a plan by very few greedy people who are concerned about themselves.

“We will continue to do our best in paying our workers and pensioners and will continue to develop the state as the time for sharing money is over. The resources of the state are meant for the people of the state.”

He said he will continue to support the Muslim community, noting that this was the first time he would be receiving Muslims at the Government House during a celebration like Sallah after the resolution of the crises at the Benin Central Mosque.

The Chief Imam of Benin Central Mosque, Alhaji Abdulfatai Enabulele, expressed appreciation to the Governor for receiving the Muslim community, thanking him for his support.

“We know leadership entails a lot of responsibility as we have witnessed your developmental strides in the state.

“We will continue to support and pray for your success. You have done a lot in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Edo State.

“Your administration has provided pragmatic, dynamic policies and programmes that have touched the lives of the people of Edo State,” he added.

Politics / Killings In Northern Nigeria Have Nothing To Do With Religion – ACF by owisdom58: 6:32am On Jun 05, 2019
The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has said the continuous killing of innocent persons by insurgents, armed bandits and militia groups in the North and Nigeria at large has nothing to do with tenets of religion.

ACF spokesman, Muhammad Ibrahim Biu, in a Sallah message on behalf of the forum, called on all elected public officers in executive and legislative positions to hit the ground running by delivering on their campaign promises.

Biu, who lamented that security situation in the country has become more worrisome, said: “ACF wishes to observe that the killings of innocent souls by insurgents, armed bandits, by clashes between herdsmen and farmers as well as cult and militia groups and kidnapping in parts of the North and Nigeria are inconsistent with the tenets of all religions.

“While commending the efforts of the security agencies, we urge them to redouble their efforts in combating the crimes which have continued to be worrisome to Nigerians.

“In the spirit of the seasons, ACF calls on Nigerians to embrace peaceful dialogue and forgiveness as the most religious and civilized means of addressing grievances rather than engage in hate speeches, threats and intimidation which are capable of degenerating into avoidable conflicts and conflagration that do no one or group any good.

“ACF wishes to appeal to those beating the drums of succession, separation and balkanisation of Nigeria along ethnic and religious lines to have a rethink, as we are all better in a united larger Nigeria than in small confederation of regions.”

Politics / Shun Partly Affiliations, Tackle Security Challenges Confronting Your Region by owisdom58: 9:23pm On Jun 04, 2019
Gormer Governor of Oyo State, Senator Rasidi Ladoja, on Tuesday called on the governors in the southwest to come together and unite to fight security challenges bedeviling the region.

The ex-governor was speaking against the backdrop of killings and kidnapping, which have found their ways into the southwest corridors in the recent past.

Ladoja, while addressing journalists at his Ondo Street, Ibadan residence, urged the governors in the region to put their party affiliations at their backs and unite to tackle the security challenges the region is currently facing.

He said, “I believe the governors in the southwest should come together to tackle the security bridge in the region after all they, are governors for everybody notwithstanding their political differences.

“The governors should call themselves to tackle the security challenges in the region. I don’t think there is anything that is bad in it if they call themselves and discuss the way forward.

“They should not say you are in party A and you are in party B. They should come together to tackle the security challenges in the region.”

On local government dissolution, the High Chief of Ibadanland said the system that brought the council chairmen into office was marred with irregularities and therefore the governor was right to show them the way out of the office.

The Osi Olubadan of Ibadanland said, “The council chairmen knew they were in office illegally. Or why did they rush to court if they are sure of the legality of their being in office?”

The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN) National President (Amir), Dr. Taofeek Yekeen, while speaking described the alleged Islamization of Nigeria as mischievous.

Yekeen, who addressed journalists shortly after he observed the two-Rakah compulsory Eld-Fitri prayer at the University of Ibadan, added that the federal government should task the security chiefs so that they can perform better, rather than sacking them.

He said, “That is not true because, we are all here when former President Goodluck Jonathan approached OIC for some faculties, Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala also defended that move, that it is cheaper relating with those people because it is interest free.

“So, why are we talking about Islamization now? It is obviously mischievous.

“We have security challenges; no doubt, we will only appeal to the Federal government to step up their activities to curb all these challenges.
