Politics / Theresa May Resigns:why Buhari May Find It Hard To Enter UK. FFK by owisdom58: 7:44pm On May 24, 2019
Femi Fani Kayode, a former minister for aviation, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari would have difficulties in hoping in and out of the United Kingdom if Boris Johnson emerges as the next Prime Minister.

Fani Kayode who spoke through his Twitter handle said Buhari would have such difficulty because of the atrocities he and his people are committing in Nigeria.

His words:

@BorisJohnson becomes PM of the UK it may not be so easy for Buhari to hop in and out of Britain after the atrocities that he and his people are commiting in Nigeria. Boris is an old-Etonian who went to Oxford: his thinking and mindset is very different to

@theresa_may‘s.

Politics / And Justice Has Prevailed In Zamfara Atiku Reacts To Supreme Court Ruling by owisdom58: 2:21pm On May 24, 2019
And Justice Has Prevailed in Zamfara, As It Should Everywhere in Nigeria.

Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2019 presidential election and former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, commends and celebrates the judgment of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, which has upheld the rule of law, as well as common sense, and done justice by declaring the PDP as the winner of the gubernatorial elections in Zamfara state as well as state house of assembly elections.

Nothing is as pleasing to the ears of believers, as justice being served in the holy month of Ramadan.

Atiku Abubakar commends the Lord Justices for putting aside the interests of the powerful and upholding the interests of Nigeria and Nigerians. God first, Nigeria second, must be our priority as trustees of the people.

When justice prevails, the people rejoice, chains are broken, freedom is multiplied and society is enriched.

Atiku Abubakar is hopeful that the Supreme Court and our Lords Justices will let Lady Justice have full reign in other petitions that will come before them, and that good conscience, fear of God and the rule of law will prevail.

In so doing, they will write their names for good on the sands of time and avoid the infamy that oppressors wish to thrust on them as their legacy.

Once again, Atiku Abubakar commends the Supreme Court for siding with justice. He congratulates the Governor-elect Hon. Bello Matawalle and the people of Zamfara, who will finally have a government that will address the issues that have made life an ordeal in that great state. The storm is over and peace and calm are coming to Zamfara.

May God bless the Supreme Court of Nigeria. May God bless Zamfara state and may God bless Nigeria, now and forever.

Signed:
Paul Ibe

Politics / Zamfara: Fani-kayode Reacts As Supreme Court Nullifies APC Victory by owisdom58: 1:04pm On May 24, 2019
Femi Fani-Kayode, former Minister of Aviation, has reacted to Friday’s Supreme Court ruling which nullified the victory of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the last general elections in Zamfara State.
The ruling APC today lost its bid to govern Zamfara State for the next four years as the supreme court ruled that it did not conduct valid primaries in the 2019 general elections.

Also, the apex court validated the judgement of the Court of Appeal, Sokoto Division, which gave the verdict that no valid primaries were conducted by the APC in Zamfara State.
Further, the Supreme Court, in a unanimous judgement by a seven-member panel, decided that a party that had no valid candidate cannot be said to have emerged winner of the recently conducted general elections.
Reacting, Fani-Kayode congratulated PDP on the judgment favourable to them, hoping that the Kano election will also favour PDP.
On his Twitter page, he wrote: “Congrats to the @OfficialPDPNig in Zamfara state for being declared winner of the Governorship election by the Supreme Court. By God’s grace Kano shall go the same way!”

Celebrities / Bbnaija 2019: Real Reason Why This Year’s Edition Is Holding In Nigeria by owisdom58: 9:15pm On Jan 29, 2019
BBNaija 2019: The Chief Customer Officer MultiChoice Nigeria, Martin Mabutho, has stated why the 4th edition of the hit reality TV show, Big Brother Naija, BBNAIJA, is holding in Nigeria and not in South Africa like the previous ones.

In the below interview, he revealed that the prize money for the 4th edition of BBNAIJA will be N45million which is way bigger than what previous winners went home with.

Why did Multichoice decide to bring the show to Nigeria?

BBNaija 2019 It made sense that we bring it here. The first one we did was See Globe, and Double Wahala last year eclipsed See Globe …it was completely flawless. Now at that state, we said there’s no doubt that bringing the show to Nigeria would be the right decision. It would be worth the investment and it’s exciting for us. Corporate Nigeria and sponsors have latched onto it in a big way so, in my view, it’s going to be bigger than all the shows we have ever done.

How is the selection process for housemates carried out?

BBNaija 2019 I’m not on the selection panel but for this year, the mixture of different individuals will determine the final number that will go into the house.

Will the partnership with Bet9ja be a long term deal?

For this season, Bet9ja has an option to renew. We have had different sponsors in the past and it depends on what their priorities for the season are.

Will there ever be a female host?

We had two hosts for the first one Big Brother Nigeria – Michelle Dede and Olisa Adibua. So let’s see what happens with this one.

Will there a bigger prize money this season?

I can put it this way – I can’t say about the prize money but the total value of the grand prize will exceed N45m.

affirms disqualification of Tonye Cole and all other Rivers APC candidates

The Court of Appeal, Port Harcourt Division on Wednesday confirmed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State will not field any candidates during the 2019 General elections when it dismissed the appeal filed by the factional Rivers State APC Governorship Candidate, Mr Tonye Cole.

The Court of Appeal, Port Harcourt Division also confirmed the judgment of Justice Chinwendu Nwogu that Rivers State has no ward executives, local government executives and State Executives as it dismissed the appeal filed by Sacked Rivers State APC State Chairman, Mr Ojukaye Flag Amachree.

The Court of Appeal Port Harcourt Division Special Panel Chaired by Justice Abubakar Yahaya dismissed the two appeals for lack of merit.

The third appeal which centred on the judgement by Justice Chinwendu Nwogu was dismissed because it was filed out of time and therefore statute barred.

Delivering his judgement Justice Yahaya, said the appeal against the Justice Chinwendu Nwogu High Court judgement on the party Congress crisis lacks merit, adding that the application for joinder failed to observed the 14 days rules of Appeal.

While delivering judgement on the substantive appeal number CA/PH/198 that bothered on Justice Nwogu’s judgement, the panel ruled that the Ojukaye faction failed to seek leave of court before appealing against the judgement.

Justice Yahaya ruled that the judgement delivered at the lower court was a consent judgement, adding that Ojukaye faction should have done the needful legally before approaching the court.

Counsel to Ibrahim Umar and 22 others, Mr Patrick Luke said that the rulings of the Court of Appeal confirm that the judgement by Justice Chinwendu Nwogu remains valid and is still subsisting.

Counsel to Ojukaye Flag Amachree, Emenike Ebete noted that the court heard the three matters and in her wisdom arrived at the rulings confirming the judgment of Justice Chinwendu Nwogu.

He said: “Arguments were taken but the Court in its infinite wisdom held that in appeal 461, that is the substantive appeal, that the consent judgement of the High Court of Rivers state and by provision of the constitution, we ought to have sought leave of court to appeal against that consent judgement. That is their own decision and they struck it out.

“The one for the candidates and the party state excos, we were dismissed on the ground that it was a pre-election matter, that we did not bring the application within 14 days after decision was delivered on October 10. What that means is that, we will approach the Supreme court to contest the judgment “.

It will be recalled that on October 10, 2018, a High Court in Port Harcourt nullified the nomination of Mr Tonye Cole as the Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State on the ground that his nomination is a function of illegality and unconstitutional acts.

The Court also nullified the the Rivers State APC Senatorial, House of Representatives and House of Assembly Primaries conducted on the premise of the illegal ward congresses.
The High Court further nullified all the elections of Rivers APC Ward Executives, Local Government Executives and State Executive Committee that arose from the illegal ward congresses.
In a judgment delivered by Justice Chiwendu Nwogu in a suit filed by Ibrahim Imah and twenty-two others against the APC, the Court declared that the ward congresses of Rivers APC were illegal because they were not conducted in line with the APC Guidelines and
